OOC: Hello and Welcome, we're starting our assessments for class 3a here. While this is mostly physical tests, it gives a good ball park of what your character can do, and might even give you some insight on what to work on. If you'd like do a personal assessment with a specific teacher please state so in your first post OOC! Currently the teachers willing to aid are pinned in discord chat. It's as simple as saying in OOC: "I'd like ____ to do have tutoring or a personal assessment with ____." After this thread you can align with who you'd like to help you and go on from there to make a thread after this. Also feel free to mingle a bit before I begin the exercise prompts. Here's the list of exercises so you guys have time to think of your character's actions. These will be ranked for individual exercise and then ranked overall for the class. (Just to help foster those rivalries and give some good ol braggin rights! ) General Assessments: Canon:Agility=50 Meter Dash +High Jump + Long Jump Strength=Sit Ups + Push Ups + Grip Test Coordination= Ball Throw + Side steps Non-Canon:Cement Block Bust 50 meter Swim ___________________________________________IC: With a laptop in hand, Robert waited for the 3rd years to start rolling in. Terebii asked for results, so he'd deliver with proper data entry of each student and how they faired. Kagayaku already said he'd be more than happy to assist, and then came a few others who'd volunteer as well. The majority of the test would take place in the training fields, but there were a special ones the man would go ahead and add to make things interesting. Once the students entered with their teacher, he'd waste no time introducing himself. "Good Morning,
My name is Dr. Brine, the new school "nurse." I'd like to welcome you seniors to the yearly Apprehension Test, where we see where you stand as heroes. With this being your last year, it's all the more important that you look at where you might be lacking and find ways to improve. If you have strong suits and advantages, look for ways to sharpen those already existing skills. You guys are the next generation of heroes once you gradaute... SO, if you'd be as kind as to show off the fruits of your labor in this year's assessments. Any questions?" He was brief and professional, with a hint of not wanting to be there. He was here solely to impress Terebii, not because he genuinely wanted to. It was also quite clear, he wasn't exactly used to talking to kids. It was his first school job, to be brutally honest. Beside him, were a line of radar bots. They'd line up accordingly based on the activity, and aid in calculating data Legal Name: Robert Brine Alias: Dr. Brine Quirk Name: Seafoam Picture:Notable Achievements:Not much is known of him. He's one of those heroes that blew up overnight. A s mall time hero from Kagoshima JapanNew hire at UA as school nurse

Shinja was ready for today. It was, after all, the third time they had taken these assessments, and she could only do better than the last two times. She stretched out, limbering up for the different tests, though most of them would involve her quirk. She was fit enough to do them without it, but Shinja's fans meant that her results were insanely high. It was the competitive streak in her! She looked across at her other classmates, wondering how they would all do. They had all come such a long way over two years.

Oh this was going to be a piece of cake. He could feel it before even having begun! With his quirk at his side, and his knowledge of using it, Jack was absolutely confident that this'd be a breeze! The kangaroo-boy stepped up to the training grounds with a proud, confident look burning in his eyes, and he'd smack his fist into his open palm, yellow sparks flying off of it as his quirk was just begging to come out.
"Oy Shinja! Don' ya start frettin' once I'm leavin' ya in the dust! Only natural fer a champ like me, y'know~?"
He'd tease his classmate with a grin, but his eyes never ceased to burn with his determination. He was gonna treat this as a challenge, and really put himself, and his classmates, to the test!

Tanzo's arrival on the scene was as unsubtle as always. The massive metal man always drew attention when he arrived places simply because he was hard to miss. He looked at those who were already here and smiled and waved. His smile was a bit forced though, in truth he wasn't especially looking forward to these tests. The outcomes of each of them were hardly a mystery to him... the endurance based ones he'd do well in, speed and agility he'd flunk, and strength things like grip strength he'd get unclear readings as he broke the equipment. It had been like that since year one and he'd only gotten stronger...
Despite that, last year Tanzo had still approached the tests with enthusiasm despite knowing roughly how it was going to play out. He'd been as gung-ho as anyone, cracking jokes, being competitive. This year though he just looked tired and like he wanted to get it over with. It was a trend that those who were paying close attention might've picked up on... his mental state had been slowly deteriorating over the past year, and it was starting to show outwardly as of late. It still wasn't obvious, he was still friendly and helpful and kind as always when talking with people... but the times in between those moments he looked increasingly worn down.
And just like that the moment was gone as he reached Jack and Shinja, and the tired aura he gave off was masked by his usual cheer and warmth... albiet not as well as it used to be "Hey guys! Ready to put UA's recording devices to the test again? Maybe this year they'll be able to keep up with us!" he joked... mostly joked. The grip strength device had broken both previous years when trying to measure his, resulting in some inconclusive results. The iron grip jokes had followed him ever since.

Ivan finally found his way to the right training field. For some reason, everyone knew how to get here... as if there weren't MULTIPLE training fields. He'd let it slide because he was able to find the support class, an important pit stop. Anyway, he'd line up with the rest of the students with folded arms. He'd probably have a better time if he hadn't made such a bad impression, but to be fair the school and its students were giving him a bad impression. Well, Hiromi seemed cool at least. So far the school had been underwhelming him. Here he could see some of the action behind these kids' attitudes, and confidence. He could do the same, but not for the same reasons. He wasn't trying to prove anything, he just wanted to get good results. He'd softly tilt his head back and look at the sky. He could feel himself getting amped up, because the controlling and watchful eye of his family were imprinted on his very being. They were oceans away and yet, he could feel his chest tightening and hairs standing on end. The need to perform was ever-present, almost to a dizzying degree.

OOC: This round of posts will consist of the three coordination activities. Use your quirks as you see fit to excel in these activities. Or if your quirk isn't suited for the task at hand, just make a realistic description based on how you think your character's athleticism is. The posts should be schemed rather simply to depict what your character does. This round can have up 2 posts from each person. One dedicated activity post, and if you'd like to post your character's reaction to their classmates, you can. Once the coordination section is done, we can move on to the other stuff.
Score yourselves as you see fit. Use 1a's thread as an example if you'd like. If you still can't figure a score out just let me know and I'll give you one. ___________________IC:
Quite a small group. The staff member would go ahead and line the radar robos up with each exercise station. A small class meant they could get a lot done in a short amount of time. Clapping his hands to garner some attention, he- "Okay, okay. We're gonna start with the Ball toss. After that comes the timed consecutive side steps. We'll give you a minute and a half to get in as many sidesteps as you can. " He said, first tapping his pen on the top sheet of paper. Coordination.
One by one he'd line students up to each agility exercise and click a remote for the radar robo's ready. His eyes would scan along each other their faces. To each one he'd say ready and go once the time came.

Shinja grinned as Jack threw some light-hearted jabs at her. She wasn't fretting, not about this. The Quirk apprehension test was something they had all done twice before, so now it was just time to smash her previous records and set a standard for her final year at U.A.. She rolled her shoulders, cracked her neck and stepped up to the first challenge.
Shinji tossed the ball up and down into the air casually as she gauged the current climate. Wind speed and movements. She was used to it all. As it fell she grabbed the ball for the final time, fist curling tight around it. She took a deep breath, placing her hands out in front of her, one cupping behind, the other a fist which was curled around the baseball. Her eyes focused on a point in the sky, and she exhaled deep. Time to show how far she had come.
With a roar, her fans engaged. Wind pressure built up as the both fed through each other, pushing against the ball which she gripped tight. Hold it... hold it... and release! With a burst of wind that exploded out of her, the ball shot skywards. It was pushed on by a spiraling funnel of air, continuously pouring from Shinja's hands until it reached a point out of range. From there it kept going, arcing over and falling out of sight beyond the boundaries of U.A., somewhere beyond in Musutafu.
"One thousand, four hundred and six metres!"
Shinja grinned as she turned back to the others.
"Easy!"
The sidestepping assessment wasn't difficult for her either. It just meant controlling her fans, releasing bursts of air pressure from both hands to move her rapidly from side to side until she was nearly a blur, kept in the air by her feet's own fans. When the whistle blew for a minute and a half, Shinja dropped to the floor, looking dizzy but still grinning.
"Nine hundred and twelve!"
Shinja nodded, looking pleased with herself. That was two hundred more sidesteps than last year, and nearly six hundred metres further in the ball throw. She had come a long way since then!

Well well, Shinja still had that explosive energy about her, it seemed! She was killing it right now! Jack even had to give her an impressed whistle and a thumbs-up after she was done with her Coordination trials, showing that despite his competitiveness, he'd be supportive of his classmates! Now it was his turn, though.
Grinning as he'd step up to catch the ball, he'd bounce it up and down in his hand a few times, before tossing it to bounce it with his tail as he'd crack his knuckles, as a familiar golden sheen flashed in his eyes, and his arms bulked up with his Adrenaline Rush kicking in. He'd catch the ball mid-bounce, gripping it tight as he'd hold it in front to aim, then reared his arm back, his muscles tensing up as he built up force. And then, with a near-meteoric force, he'd hurl the ball with all his might, a trail of gold tracing behind it as it went up and beyond into the horizon.
"One thousand, nine hundred and two meters!"
He'd grin as he heard the results, cockily turning to his classmates and giving his own bicep a kiss. And now, time for the side-steps. Oh he was going to KILL it. Stepping up to the mat, he'd start to stretch and flex his legs a bit, until they bulked and tensed up as well, his Rush Level Two now engaged. And as soon as the 'Go' was given, he'd start moving side-to-side in a near constant blur! It was almost as if you could not see him! Eventually as the whistle blew, he'd stop, and the results came in;
"ONE THOUSAND!"
A proud fist-pump and a loud 'YES!' came from Jack as he finished up. Just like Shinja, Jack had improved from last year too! Almost three hundred more side-steps, and about two hundred meters further! He'd step up next to Shinja, playfully flexing his arms.
"Heh, tol' ya, luv! But you did amazin' too, Shinja. Really proud t'see ya comin' this far."

Tanzo knew going into this which tests he excelled at and which he struggled with, but that didn't mean he didn't have some ideas on how to push his numbers up compared to previous years... well he had ideas for the ball toss anyway.
Being given the ball, Tanzo forged a contraption around it consisting of a length of wire, and a release mechanism, which he put the ball inside before winding up and throwing, the wire extending his throwing arc and letting him build up more momentum and leverage his monstrous strength even further, the release mechanism worked just as intended, a testament to just how precise his forging had become over the years, allowing even multi-part machinery like this to be forged without error.
The combination of his physical strength and his application of physics to turn what had been a normal throw into something more akin to a trebuchet resulted in the ball rocketing away, eventually returning to the ground at a distance that just edged out the competition from Jack. 2032 meters.
It was the first year he'd beaten both Shinja AND Jack in this category, so he was pretty pleased with himself. Previous years he'd struggled with really leveraging all of his weight and strength to get such a small object to travel long distances. The transfers of force had been too inefficient, so while he'd always been competitive with these two, he never quite managed to outdo them until this year. He was quite pleased with his success...
That didn't make the sidestep test any less of a blowout though. With how big and heavy he was, he only managed a few dozen before time ran out. It was a marginal improvement over the past two years, but the only impressive thing about his performance was the noise and damage to the testing area caused by several tons of metal crashing down on it repeatedly

Ivan murmured to himself as the other students showed their camaraderie. He'd wait for his turned, and clad his arm in armor. To be brutally honest, he was conflicted. How hard was too hard of a throw? A part of him knew he could throw it really far, but a part of him was worried because this was just a baseball with some sensors wrapped around it. Could it handle his quirk, or would he try the route for finesse? The best bet was to just give it his all as he did with everything else. He'd grip tight, and reel back for a throw, his armor glittering in the process. As he followed through on his toss, a beam erupted from his fingertips, and the ball was nowhere to be found. More accurately, flakes and debris of what use to be the ball fell to the ground. The beam would travel quite a ways before dissipating. "DQ" the robo would sounds off, to which, Ivan sucked his teeth and kicked the dirt. That WAS too hard. Had it been a harder ball, he would have sent the damned thing to Tokyo. Next was the sidesteps, which he was more confident in. Both legs would become clad in armor this time, and as they glowed, Ivan tensed himself for Brine's que to begin. In a blur, the teen erupted into pounding steps. He'd stopped almost perfectly on the last seconds finishing off with a respectable. "One thousand!" A nice way to make up for the toss, but being DQ'd on an exercise would obviously put him last. He stared at the cracked earth beneath his feet with disgust. He needed to be better! Brine eyed the group. Well now... Because the third years had data from prior years to compare to(except for Ivan), it was really nice to see the distinct progress. Ivan's scored well, they hadn't been mailed over, but Brine could assume from both maneuvers that he could do well for himself. The ball toss was an obvious miscalculation on the boy's part, but what was done was done. As telling as it was about the boy's competitiveness, there were no do-overs with Brine. Coordination
1st. Jack 3rd. Tanzo
2nd. Shinja 4th. IvanUnlike the other classes, Brine was leaving the Cement Bust, and Swim for last when it came to third years. Next was Agility. With this line up, this is where things would get interesting. Brine would clap to get there attention. "High Jump, Long Jump, 50m dash. Let's get sorted and ready for AGILITY pleeeeease." He liked the upperclassmen. If he were ever forced to teach, he thought perhaps... mmm NAH. The nurse's office was perfect; uninvolved until required. Just right! The radar robos would prep themselves, and their sensors for the next round.

Shinja grinned at Jack. She felt a twang of envy as she saw him demolish her scores, but she tapped him with a fist bump all the same. She saw Tanzo work some incredible metal magic as well... and his throw was over double hers! Shinja pumped her fist in the air as he returned, even with a poor side-step score.
"Yeah, Tanzo! That was a great idea! I love seeing your brain work, you're a real smart cookie..."
She watched as Ivan made his attempt. The new kid in their year, as cocky as he was, seemed to struggle. He had some catching up to do... and the next was not something Shinja would be easy to catch up with.
She stepped up to the plate, rolling her shoulders. High jump? That was nothing to her. She braced herself, and her fans begin to stir, then whirred louder, harder, more ferociously than before. Then Shinja was gone, leaving behind a shockwave of air that rippled out from where she had stood, blowing fiercely through her fellow students and teachers. The girl was gone, a dot in the skies above.
As U.A. disapeared beneath her, Shinja flew higher. She pushed herself further, fans roaring as they propelled her beyond the clouds, until Japan rolled out beneath her. Still she kept going, feeling the air cool and thin around her. It must be a thousand feet... five thousand... I can go higher! I can go beyond! Shinja had been training herself hard for a year, since the Glass Box, since her kidnapping, since everything had become more than just fun and games. Next year she would be a real hero! She had to find out her limits, and smash through them!
Shinja reached a point where breathing was hard, where frost began to form on the tips of her hair. It was there that she released her fans and let herself fall again. A few minutes to catch her breath as she fell, then she engaged her quirk once more. She didn't need speed, or height. It was a controlled descent, and a few minutes later she saw U.A. come into view. Shinja soared over the training grounds, dropping lightly to the floor in a crouch, on the other side of the bar. She straightened up, shivering slightly as the robot raised an arm.
"P-pass! With a top height of... fourteen thousand, six hundred and four metres?!"
Shinja stretched her arms up, shooting a glance at Jack. She winked, then moved herself to the long jump. Another easy one, and she simply took off over the sand, flying at full speed once more, disappearing to the horizon. The robot seemed to be stressing about this as Shinja lapped around, hovering over the small metal judge.
"I can do this all day," she said with a smirk, and it fretted some more.
"She won't come down, Mr. Brine! Is that a DQ or-"
Shinja dropped to the floor after proving her point, and the robot shouted clear. She wasn't going to be outdone in the agility course, not by anybody. Tanzo and Jack might have their raw strength, but she was the fastest, the most agile, the swiftest member of their year! She knew the next one would be something that Jack would at least have a chance. Shinja wanted a clean win for this round.
She crouched at the start of the track, fans whirring into high gear, pushing them to their real limits. This was all about striving to show she was the best version of herself, after all! When the robot signaled for her to go, Shinja vanished in a blur of wind and dust. Her fans screamed as they blasted into their top gear, and even faster than that! It was a speed she had nearly reached a few times before, but something had been lit within Shinja today. She wanted to show everyone what her power was. Nobody would take advantage of Sanyo Shinja ever again! She tore through the air as if it wasn't there, and the robot seemed to give up as she passed the line in a blur, kicking up great bouts of dust and wind as she disappeared out over the buildings of U.A..
"N-nought point five seconds!"
Shinja passed over the training ground, circling on a downward descent as she controlled her speed to something a bit more manageable. She landed in front of Jack, her tongue poking out, genuinely overly pleased with herself.
"Howzzat? That's my personal best! Zero to two hundred miles per hour in nought point five seconds! That's like a jet fighter! Did ya see me go, Jack? Try and beat that!"

Jack could do nothing but find himself gobsmacked at Shinja's improvement. Of course she was gonna do well on the High Jump, she was literally MADE to go high places! But... THAT high? He could've sworn he still saw parts of her hair having icicles on them when she came down again! She went right up to the stratosphere?! There was a bit of a pang of worry in Jack's chest after seeing her stunt. He wanted her to do well, sure, but not ENDANGER herself! Maybe it was just his 'big brother' vibes kicking in again, but he was gonna tell her off at least a bit on that one. Still, she was passing her tests with flying colors, and as soon as she stopped in front of Jack, he'd just grin at her a little bit, reaching over to ruffle her hair firmly, dusting out any remaining frost and rime in her hair.
"Heh, yeah Shinja, y'killed it girl~! Ain' no way I could beat ya if I tried... doesn' mean I ain' still GONNA try, o' course~!" he'd smirk down at her in a challenging way, but that smirk did fade a little bit with that earlier worry and concern he had. Not now, though. They were in the middle of their evaluation, so his personal issues had to wait. But Shinja had been given the signal that they were there. He'd step up next, reading himself for his high jump.
The high jump was rather easy, as he'd just power up his legs with his quirk once more, even as they were still sore from the side-stepping. But he launched himself a fair bit into the sky, as the robot would chime in; "Pass! 500 meters flat!" Jack soon landed after as his enhanced leg muscles tanked a fair bit of the recoil from landing, gritting his teeth as he'd absorb it, and slowly stand up.
Long jump next. Oh that one was easy, as once more, his legs came into use, and like an industrial spring he'd simply just launch himself right across the sand pit, and right over to the other side. "C-Clear!" the nervous voice of the bot came out, with Jack just smirking, even if his legs were twitching and spasming a bit now. His quirk was pushing him quite a bit, but just one more... one more thing.
Fifty meter dash. Even if his legs were starting to feel a bit burning, he was ready for it. Fifty meters was nothing. He'd crouch down and wait for the signal from Brine, and once it was given, he took off. It was nearly impossible to see when he had started, but even with his legs sore and raw, he managed to squeeze in a bit of a record time for himself across those short fifty meters. However-
"One point six and a half seconds!"
... Damn it. With the condition his legs were in, he had sacrificed a lot of momentum power and it slowed him down somewhere in the middle. That was a whole 1.1 seconds longer than Shinja. But, he'd just give her a playful, sheepish grin as he just casually plays it off. "Eeeeh, y'win some y'lose some, eh luv? Can't win 'em all!"

Ivan nodded. The ceiling was high and he needed to place himself higher. Being last in something he already was good at was degrading. With a snarl he sprinted as fast as he could before clearing the box while completely unquirked. "Clear!" He dusted himself off and proceeded to the next bit without any rest. Cladding both legs, he'd prep himself. "Whenever you're rea-" "SHUT UP! ... Risa Above." He growled, allowing a proper build-up before launching upward with one leg hiked up. He still had enough load to kick himself further. With a resounding thud, there'd be a secondary upward boost. "800 meters!" He'd gather load as he descended. Landing with the ground crunching beneath his feet, he approached the start line for the sprint. In a huff, he focused once more on gathering load into his armor-clad legs. At the signal, he'd surged forward with a nasty amount of force, clearing the path in just 5 steps. He turned to the robo who threw its arms up and exclaimed. "1.3 seconds!" Still not better than the leading scorer...
He glared at Shinja. How was he supposed to beat a jet plane in human shape? It wasn't a competition, but he damn sure was making it one. As a proud individual, scoring last in the Coordination section was quite a blow to his ego. "Shit..." Second place didn't satisfy his craving for dominance either.

Agility was definitely not Tanzo's strong suit, and compared to his classmates there was no way he could compete. His body was built for strength, not speed.
The high and long jumps were both busts from the outset. On the high jump Tanzo's extreme weight only allowed him to get a meter or so off the ground, crashing back down to the ground and making it shake a bit around him. The fact he could jump at all was a testament to his leg strength, but obviously if he ever wanted to move vertically it was going to have to be by climbing... and even then the options for what he could climb without breaking it were limited.
The long jump went marginally better. his leg strength might not have been able to get him very high, but it could launch him forward at a decent speed, so while he wasn't in the air very long, he still scored about average for a male his age without a quirk. "Man if it were a running long jump and I build speed this would be a heck of a lot easier" he grumbled.
That brought him to the dash, which he still was in dead last compared to the others, but here he was actually able to put on a decent showing. At first, his speed was just average for the first 10 meters. But his powerful steps propelling his mass forward began overcoming his inertia, and the the inertia began working in his favor. With each step, he got faster as his momentum increased. He was still increasing in speed as he cleared the finish line, showing that he could actually accelerate to a pretty decent clip if given the space and time to do so, probably enough to outrun any normal person and maybe some bicyclists if chasing them on a straight away. More importantly, the implications of what he could do if he got a running start and then tackled or punched someone with all that momentum were frightening...
Tanzo gradually slowed to a stop, being careful not to damage anything as he reduced his momentum bit by bit instead of trying to skid to a stop. "well a bit better than last year I guess. But we all knew I was placing last for this category" he chuckled

On the board, the names and numbers shuffled before landing each person in the appropriate place for this set of exercises. Agility 1. Shinja 2. Ivan 3. Jack 4. TanzoBrine would clap his hands. "Since you're third years let's have you finish the rest in one go. Strength remains with Push Ups, Sit Ups, and grip test. Right after getting warmed up with the strength test, I'd like you to break through a line of 3 big block cement blocks, and two laps in the pool making this a 100m swim. I'll be including the results in with strength. Once we get your strength ranks, this board will give the overall rankings. The data will also be sent to your emails for you to review and see how well you all did."
Ivan nodded. He'd clad his arms in armor and get to work with a radar robo as his side. He'd start with sit ups, so his armor could gather some load before trying push ups. After spitting out a solid amount of sit ups, he felt ready to tackle push ups. He would go on for quite some time, his body cranking up and down with ease. He lost track, but it was a good thing the Robo was there to keep count. " 320 sit ups, 740 push ups." Ivan got up and took a quick breather. He'd dial it down to one armored arm to give the machine a firm grip. "3200psi."Now came the blocks. The robos line them up extremely close but Ivan wasn't worried. He'd done something similar for his admittance into the Academy. It was 3 stoney golems, but UA had given him cement blocks. Ivan would let the armor shake loose from his arm, and clad his legs this time. He was way stronger now than when he was as a first year. Plus back then, he didn't even know he could coat his legs. It also took his ultimate move to succeed last go round. This time, a lesser technique could be used. Ivan would line himself up with the blocks before taking a step in. With a pivot on the same foot, he'd deliver a back heel kick to the primary block. "Valor Heel." He say calmly, all three would detonate to the shockwave created by his kick. Lastly would come the swimming pool. He knew he could clear it with his super jump, but he would have to be careful. His armor would weight him down if he accidentally fell in. Jumping for height and jumping for distance/speed were two different things. He'd have to just run the risk. At his mark, he' knew the time would start as soon as he started moving. "Rise above." With a powerful leap, he'd land with a solid thunk and cracked pavement. He would've gone faster but there margin of error was too high. He wanted to make this as seamless as possible. "And again." He exhaled on his way up and over the body of water. "3.5 seconds" was his "swim" time. He lost quite a bit of time in mid air, but it was something he could help. -Not yet at least. If he really wanted to hone his super jumps, he needed to ask a flyer. There were way to positions ones body for aerodynamics and speed that he didn't know about.
