General Information
Name: Tomatsu Byogenkin (Toma)
Identity: Pied Piper
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Date of Birth: October,13
Place of Origin: Ine Village, Kyoto Providence, Japan
Occupation: Student, 2B, Intern (CMA)
Faction: U.A, Second Year, Class B, Crescent Maiden Agency (Trainee)
Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: Tomatsu stands at 5 foot 4 inches as he has begun a sudden growth spurt, and doesn't appear to be stopping at all. Weighing at 198 lbs due to his recent and steady training, Tomatsu sports a now well toned, muscular, and lean form with a taller frame, due to the training regiment that he has undergone in order to catch up with his classmates. Being half breed of German and Japanese, Tomatsu tends to appear paler than most of his other classmates, to the point that many people could mistaken him as a foreigner. His face show more of his German side than Japanese, as he doesn't have the angular eye shape, though he does always appear tired. His hair and eyes are a light brown color, with fairly thin Japanese eyebrow; though he takes after his father with fairly wavy hair that he keeps at medium length. Aside from this, he has traits from both parents of having sharp nose; as well as long fingers.
Civilian Clothes: Outside of his school uniform that he wears when attending U.A; Tomatsu actually prefers to dress sharply, often times having what could be known as dress clothes on, though they tend to stick with bland colors of kakhi, browns, light blues, and whites. On days where he goes out; he swapped his preference to button up shirts and dress pants, though no matter what he constantly wears fresh white bandage wraps around a majority of his body. On rainy days, he'll add a waistcoat and long coat to his casual outfit. During the fall and winter he'll swap out for turtlenecks and a thicker coat. He almost always wears bandages on his arms, hands, and around his body up to his neck.
On occasion he'll wear reading glasses if he's having difficulty reading
Hero Outfit:
Tomatsu's training within the CMA has taught him a few things. Firstly, that medical assistants and those who are in charge of Search and Rescue are often the most likely to be targeted by villain ambushes. Next, when he's attempting to save someone especially a hero from a villain who wishes to finish them off, intimidation is a key factor in such engagements. As such, Tomatsu has done some research, and developed a new costume, and changed his hero name to Piper. The design of his newest costume is focused just as much on stealth as it it intimidation as a black with purple trip jumpsuit with sleeves. and a harness looped around the limbs and chest. Tomatsu also dons tattoo sleeves, attempting to further trick villains into thinking he's one of them at first sight; though the biggest advantage he has is his hood, which allows him to conceal his identity from the sides and back. The Harness can allow Tomatsu some safety when climbing up or down various hazardous terrain; or if need be can be used with rappel tech to enter from a window from above, and even hang upside down.
Piper Mask
A unique mask made with search and rescue operations in mind, the Piper mask is a gas mask/HUD with installed night vision for ease of sight in the dark. The mask is mainly designed with intimidation in mind. Within it Tomatsu can also keep track of his swarm especially if they are outfitted with tracking chips. This can be useful especially with rodents as he could possibly create a virtual map with said HUD.
Combat Gloves/Boots
Lastly, Tomatsu has a pair of gloves and boots with metal guards and toes. Military grade fabric, these gloves are ideal for closed quarters combat; allowing Tomatsu to reduce the chance of breaking knuckles or toes when engaged in a fist fight. The gloves also have traction layers to allow for better gripping, allowing Tomatsu a better chance at holding his opponent down in a grapple without them slipping from his grasp.
Personality
Bad Habits:
Constant Snacker- Tomatsu has a bad habit of snacking near constantly, usually eating small portions of food in bursts when he gets worried or anxious. This usually means that despite his clean looks he'll sometimes have crumbs on him, which he's noticed more often than not makes pests all the more attracted to him.
Clean Freak- Despite the nature of his quirk to work with some creatures who are less hygenic than others; Tomatsu being raised in a hospital as well as his rejection of his quirk instinctively made him a bit of a germaphobe, though not nearly as bad as being outright fearful of disease. Still, he often times keeps sanitary wipes, sprays, and other things. While he can suppress the urges, if he's left with nothing to do he tends to want to clean things.
Passive Aggression- Tomatsu rarely gets angry angry. More often than not however, he has shown passive aggressive tendency, usually hiding it behind facades or other things. While he states he doesn't hold grudges, it's an outright lie; as he'll usually remember slights, wrongs, or misdeeds done to him or his friends. He won't do anything villainous, but it's best not to irk Tomatsu.
Goal:
Tomatsu's goal is simple. He wants to help others who reject their quirk come to terms and prove that even quirks that seem disgusting, unappealing, or outright dangerous can be used by heroes. He wishes to ensure that a clear message is heard. You decide what your quirk can do. Not the other way around. Outside of that, a minor goal he has on the side is to find his father and figure out why he had abandoned them.
General Personality:
Tomatsu Byogenkin would seem like a distant and socially awkward, if not extremely tired person; but he's quick to become protective and even super aware of how his quirk can gross others out, and even dreads being near said pests for fear of freaking people out. He's a bit of a health nut; though he only does this as he had believed it to be the best way to counteract his quirk's hazards despite the fact that none of the pests show any sign of agression towards him. He's especially close to those who share things with him; as he has been avoided most of his life due to his quirk, as well as his bandaged appearance. He prefers to stay hygienically clean, and gives tips to others on how to stay healthy, from exercise, to dietary, and even some facts to help avoid illness. However there is one other problem as he exhibits minor Enochlophobia, or a fear of crowds as he fears his quirk can go out of control if left unchecked and could cause a major problem. Often times he'll begin to sweat fiercely when surrounded by people on all sides.
Originally timid, Tomatsu is attempting to change his outlook on life once he discovered that his quirk can help others. He's always been one to volunteer to help, as well as do what he can. With his new goal to be a hero, he aims to learn how he can use his quirk not only to it's fullest positive potential. He dislikes it when others judge people based on their quirks, and his heart has made him stand up for others in that case. He's even been known to show rude gestures despite his good nature to people who particularly piss him off on such a subject. However, most fights have been avoided due to the nature of his quirk acting as a natural deterrent in his hometown, and he has always avoided telling what his quirk unless told to divulge it.
At the end of the day, Tomatsu can easily open up to those who give him a chance; though he may be somewhat awkward to deal with due to his habits. He's generally well mannered, considerate, and compassionate to others; though he rarely takes bullshit, nor does he appreciate lying. If you do befriend him, it's best to keep his trust, as he'll keep yours.
Personal Life
Mother: Jukoyo Byogenkin
Alive- Head Medical of Ine Hospital, Kyoto
Quirk: Controlled Regeneration (transformer)- Controlled Regeneration allows the user to transform their cells at will to such a degree that it allows for organs and limbs to regenerate. This process takes vast amounts of time, though the user can ultimately change any cell within their body, including transfused blood. This allows for controlled regeneration; though Jukoyo only uses it in order to cultivate spare organs, donate her own nom-vital organs, or specific cells for her job with specialized approval from the government. Currently has a quirk license.

Jukoyo Byogenkin had lived her entire life in Ine, having come from a long line of doctors. She was considered a genius, and it was even more fortunate when her quirk was discovered after an accident when she was 5 where she accidentally cut off the tip of her finger and it regenerated. Despite going to U.A., she never went with the intention of becoming a hero, rather she aimed to be hired on into a special medical program where quirks were being used to advance medical science so long as the user was morally sound. Eventually, Jukoyo would not only graduate, but also sign a contract where her family's hospital would become her workplace as well. It was there that she met Issac, and while she was concerned that he could have been a villain, decided to help him; and turn him in. However, she began to realize that he was simply misunderstood; and that all he needed was proper guidance; which she was determined to give. They eventually eloped; however he showed who he actually was confirming her suspicions. She attempted to convince him; however he refused to stay due to his quirk. She has been a single mother for Tamotsu since then. [/Spoil]
Father: Issac Byogenkin
MIA (believed to be former villain)
Quirk: unknown

Not much is known about Issac, however it is confirmed that his name belonged to a german villain who was on the run prior to settling down with an alias.[/spoil]
Siblings: Tenai Byogenkin
Adopted younger sister
Quirk- Sweetener
Allows the user to sweeten anything consumable with a touch. User emits a sweet smell, and has sticky fingers. Beware of tummy aches.
Jukoyo's only adopted child. Worried about her only son's mental state, she adopted a younger sister for him. Tenai was honestly a very sweet girl, even to the naturally worried Tamotsu, often times encouraging him to not be so worried about things. She's fairly thick headed, and dislikes anything that is bitter. Her favorite meal is roasted sweet potatoes that her brother makes.
Extended family: (Any other family of note, such as a famous pro-hero or important figure in the world)
History: Tamotsu was born the first son of Jukoyo Byogenkin, and Issac Byogenkin. His father had left his family long before Tamotsu was born, so his mother ultimately raised him by herself. When Tamotsu was 4 his quirk manifested as he had gotten scared by a prank, which caused his quirk to unleash itself. While he was not aware of it, his quirk had actually affected nearby insects to begin swarming, shutting down the whole town for a day. Many suffered from a number of things, from bee stings to rashes from fleas, and on occasion infection from sudden bites from rodents. Things only compounded when Tomatsu was told that his quirk made these pests attracted to him and very reactive to his emotions. Fearing what would happen, many people decided to stay away from Tomatsu, namely in fear of either angering or scaring him. Eventually this continued to get worse, as even those who he was friends with would begin to show symptoms of feeling ill and nausious around him. Going through his middle school days Tomatsu was forced to be alone while hearing how his quirk was almost like that of a villain's.
Eventually Tomatsu would learn that his own father had been a villain when he saw the pictures of him and his mother, and the notes his father had left behind detailing possible outcomes for Tomatsu's quirk. Of course, when he confronted his mother, she knew, but had thought he changed a leaf, until one day he never showed up again. She had opened the clinic in hopes that she'd be able to make up for his wrongs. Tomatsu fell even deeper into despair. Had it not been for his mother's next choice, he likely wouldn't have chosen a new path. Seeing tomatsu entering a dark point in his life, his mother adopted a younger girl, who over time grew attached to Tomatsu. Sure, she still felt nausious when she held onto him too long, but her own quirk usually gave her tummy aches, so she was use to it. With a new sensation of being a big brother, Tomatsu would begin to focus on becoming a doctor. If he couldn't be a hero, it was the next best thing he could do. Entering UA as he'd be able to help heroes, Tomatsu would continue his school life, though still as lonely as ever. What's worse, his quirk seemed to only grow stronger as time passed. It wasn't until he recieved a call that his sister had gone missing that he returned home. Searching for her with his mother, it wasn't until he noticed a small cloud of insects trying to guide him that he finally found his sister, in a coma out in the woods and injured from a fall. Staying by his sister, Tomatsu prayed every day for her to wake up. Eventually she did, though she suffered from her legs being paralyzed permanently. Feeling as though he was to blame again, his sister hugged him; thanking him for finding her.
It wasn't until this moment that tomatsu realized something as a few insects flew across the window outside. The quirk he had been suppressing for so long had actually helped to save someone. With that said, his sister urged him to become a hero again; this time stating that he should simply do what he wanted. It was only then that Tomatsu finally realized that he could.... though his trouble and trauma with his quirk ultimately still existed, he could at least try. With a bit of help, he registered to be transferred to Class 2-B.
Season 1
Having for the most part joined the class late, most of Tomatsu's time was focused on basics and his studies. On the few times he faced against someone he refused to use his quirk, still afraid he'd lose control. Further more, UA didn't really have that many pests available to him. Still, he attempted to catch up with the rest of his class, and even managed to make a few friends. Of course when the school year was about to end, Tomatsu organized a trip for everyone to enjoy some outdoor time before it was all over. In that time, Tomatsu developed feelings for someone; though now that the new school year had started, he was forced to accept something as well. It had been discussed in his trip, but now that he had the chance to be taught, Tomatsu requested special tutoring from Crescent Moon Agency in order to begin fully controlling his powers. Now that he has returned he must accept his quirk, as well as the side effects; even unwanted ones.....
Quirk
Name: Swarm Lord
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power:
This special ability allows the user to invade an area with pests. With a swarm at their command, the user can issue various orders using sequences in their voice that only Rodents, Insects, and Arachnids can understand. These commands can vary from simple commands such as Search and Attack, to complex tasks; such as enter the sewers and chew power cords. The Size of the swarm varies from place to place, but the pests generally stay under his control so long as he is capable of doing so rationally.
The user can generally tell what types of pests are nearby and where they are located, even if they are not immediately visible. A single call is generally enough to gather a group, though if need be and pushed; the user can issue a mass Swarm to appear to perform a single simple task if need be. Should a Pest be created or directly controlled by another quirk, the user will not be able to wrench control; but will notice the presence.
Another useful feature is that these pests will never actively choose to harm the user strangely enough.
Supermoves:
Swarm Cushion- The user summons the swarm to act as a cushion to either block an attack or soften the impact such as when the user or someone is falling. Has a tendency to either greatly reduce or scatter the swarm.
Bug Catcher- Using a combination of spiders and insects in order to disorientate and then wrap an opponent into a blanket like net of spider webs that can wrap around the target.
Rat Nest- Using various Rodents, the user summons a swarm of them in order to condense upon a target to apprehend or distract the target. Sometimes the sheer weight and density of the creatures can be enough to subdue an opponent if they do not stop the flow of creatures.
Drawbacks:
While the user can control the swarm of pests for the most part, the sequences in their orders can be misinterpreted based on the various emotions that the user feels. This can cause simple orders such as attack to have dire and possibly life threatening consequences for those who are on the receiving end. What's more, if the user fails to control their emotions while handling a massive swarm they can lose control and go berserk becoming a maelstrom of swarming creatures until they regain their senses.
While the user can order the pests to do a variety of things in the end the swarm is still a collection of simple creatures, and can be easily dispatched or sent into disarray depending on various tactics. Another downside is that if the user controls larger and larger swarms of pests he can begin to suffer intense migraines, which can lead to lapses in judgment, put the user in a daze, or even prevent them from noticing things.
The other downside is more of a passive one, as pests will naturally wish to be near the user, often times even if the user doesn't wish for it to be so. This same effect causes others to begin to feel nauseous and ill around him if he stays in physical contact with them for long periods of time.
Lastly, it generally takes dome time to produce a swarm of a decent enough size to begin utilizing his supermoves (it takes 2 posts in order to summon a swarm to aid him.). The swarms in question available to him are dependant upon his environment, though his go to swarms tend to be rats, spiders, flies, moths, roaches, and mosquitoes. He can control other insects and rodents, but in the cities those are the most reliable swarms to call.
Fighting Style:
Tomatsu has been working with the Crescent Moon Agency in order to understand the range of his powers. Though he has for the most part grasped the concepts of it, he still does not know his full range of control as of yet. That said; Tomatsu has trained with several people now. From the dirty fighting with Serena; to the use of a his quirk to manipulate the battlefield, Tomatsu has transformed from a person who couldn't defend himself or others to a person who could at least be relied upon to get others to safety. Though he has yet to choose a weapon of choice in most cases, his quirk has proven to be formidable when faced against foes not use to the sudden barrage of creatures. Often times, Tomatsu will attempt to obscure his opponent's vision with the swarm by using flying insects, or push them back with waves of rodents. On occasion he'll even set traps ahead of time, or perform a grapple in order to make the person he's fighting ill and sick to their stomach. That said, Tomatsu is still learning and has yet to solidify his fighting style outside of using his quirk to attempt to aid him.
