Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance:
Miyuki has a striking appearance, to say the least. His “skin” is a purple hide, appearing more like stone than flesh. His ears sharply pointed, and his mouth is more like a maw, littered with jagged canines that are barely contained within. His mouth is wide, uncannily so, to the point that it can unhinge itself to attack. Even when Miyuki’s mouth is closed, his animalistic features are plain to see. His hair is wild and long, sporting streaks of ghost-white hair billowing from his horned crown. Horns protrude elsewhere on Miyuki’s body, though they are infrequent, more like growths than useful functions of his Quirk. He has a short, purple tail, and his feet are not like human feet, but rather like a dragon’s, rough and monstrous.
In spite of his fearsome appearance, Miyuki’s physique is a far cry from the vibes he gives off at a glance. He isn’t that tall, reaching 5’2” on a good day, and that's including his hair and horns. To make matters worse, his body is skinny, bordering on malnourished. At best, Miyuki appears toned in his fitness, though more often than not, he comes off as a skeleton tightly wound in a puppet of flesh that might break free at any moment.
Civilian Clothes:
Most common clothing is uncomfortable for Miyuki to wear. As a result, he tends not to wear much when he can help it. He has two main articles of clothing: the first are flame-retardant bike shorts, which give his legs and tail room to breathe while being easy and comfortable to wear. The second article is an oversized firefighter’s jacket, draped over Miyuki shoulders like a cloak. It’s usually kept open, exposing his chest to the elements. The jacket’s size makes Miyuki appear much larger than he actually is, which is compounded by his personal looks.
Hero Outfit:
Miyuki hasn’t settled on a costume yet, though his guardian has made sure that his choice of clothing won’t be his hero uniform; not entirely, anyway. When Miyuki is allowed to act as a hero, the firefighter’s jacket is closed, compressing against his body to constrain his body heat. He is also fitted with a heavy-duty facemask that filtrates his breathing and limits the use of his Quirk to avoid accidents. The mask includes a plexiglass pane against his eyes, much in the same way that firefighter helmets protect from smoke damage.
Personality
Bad Habits:
In a word, Miyuki is indignant. Since he was a child, the boy has felt that the world is out to get him. He has been mistreated and mistrusted for his appearance, his Quirk, and oftentimes both. This has led him to lash out against those who doubt him, which causes him to be doubted even more. This cascading effect has defined much of Miyuki’s life, and continues to do so. It is very difficult for Miyuki to accept help, least of all consider others his friends. Miyuki’s life is painfully self-isolating, and it is usually only after one of his tantrums that he is able to see clearly… but at what cost?
Goal:
Miyuki wants to become a Pro Hero, partly because he wants to save people, but especially because he believes it will legitimize him as a person in the eyes of society. Miyuki desperately wants to belong to something greater than himself. Although Flashfire has convinced him that the best path for that is to become a Pro Hero, the boy’s combative personality has caused his drive to become rather temperamental. No matter where Miyuki’s heart takes him, though, he is sure to give it everything he has.
General Personality:
Though it sounds strange to say it, Miyuki is sheltered in the reverse. He has been exposed to the harshness of the world in how people have judged him before they knew him, moved away from him because he looked scary, and even at times called for a Pro Hero because they thought he was up to something. This bitterness has catalyzed in Miyuki, resulting in a child who tries to act twice his age, and seldom for the better. Were it not for the counsel of his guardian, Miyuki likely would have succumbed to terrible influences, proving the doubters right. At least now, Miyuki has a chance to show that he means well, and more importantly, that anyone, even someone like him, can become a Pro Hero.
Miyuki isn’t entirely shut-in. Having lived on the streets for a while, he has a grip on how to talk to people, albeit crassly. He tries his best to leave a good first impression, and to help people in need. However negative he may feel about himself and others, Miyuki wants to rise above it all, and leave the world a better place than when he came into it. At the end of the day, though, Miyuki is just a kid, with childlike wonders and fears like any other, with as much potential for feast as for famine.

History:
Snow. It was the first thing Miyuki remembered. With his luck, it would also be the last. The boy was born from tragic circumstances. After being pulled from the wreckage of a building engulfed in purple flame, he came into the care of Flashfire, the Dragon Hero, and her Hero Agency, the Dragon Heights. Miyuki made nothing of it at the time, hardly cogent enough to understand what was going on. It was only some time later, when he had begun living with Flashfire, that Miyuki was given his name, which had meant “snow”. Flashfire and the rest of the Dragon Heights made sure that Miyuki had a home with them, including legal guardianship. Outside of the fact that they took Miyuki’s Quirk as one of their own, they made sure to make him feel loved and appreciated after everything that he had gone through. It was only after a week or so of living at the agency headquarters that it began to sink in for him: this was a life. He had a life. He had people who cared about him.
It wasn’t always positive reflections, though. That experience, and everything else that had come before, had clearly traumatized Miyuki. He had even gotten a Quirk out of the deal, though the way Miyuki saw it, it was a curse, not a blessing. His Quirk affected him personally, in a way that not even Flashfire could explain away. Worse, it had transformed into… this. Quirks that transformed the user weren’t out of the ordinary, but cases like Miyuki’s were apparently quite rare. It led to a great deal of stress, as even a glance at him prompted people to flee in terror or glare at him in disgust. Usually both. Flashfire and her agents did what they could to assuage Miyuki’s discontent, but there was only so much that he let in.
Thankfully, the Dragon Heights came up with an idea: Aside from looking up to the woman and her colleagues who had gotten him off of the streets, Miyuki had started to become fascinated with the greater hero industry in Japan. These were people who used their Quirks to help others, and were recognized for it, no strings attached. There were many Pro Heroes that looked… well, not quite like him, but certainly not human, either, who weren’t bullied for their immutable characteristics. It did not take much encouragement to convince Miyuki to enroll in U.A. Hopefully, if Miyuki could get in, he could find peace for himself.
But would that be peace for him, or peace for others?
Quirk
Name:
Combustion Throat EX
Quirk Type:
Emitter
Power:
The user of this Quirk has mutated esophageal glands that may be exercised at will to shoot jets of red-hot flame from the mouth. Normally, Combustion Throat would be considered a mild Quirk, not considered too weak or too powerful. However, due to unknown factors, Miyuki’s iteration of this Quirk is grossly accelerated. Instead of being limited to short-range breath attacks, standard uses of Combustion Throat EX can reach targets up to dozens of meters away. Furthermore, the flames that are released are purple, and much hotter than any known fire-based Quirks. Metal and even stone melts much more quickly, and it is harder to extinguish, regardless of its intensity. Finally, when Miyuki exerts himself, the purple flames of Combustion Throat EX can have a spontaneous secondary effect upon its targets. Flashfire has been unable to study the Quirk too closely, though the secondary effect appears to be random. Igniting the target (regardless of substance), rendering basic electronics inert, evaporating all water in the immediate area, and even superheating the target to the point of exploding. It seems plausible that Miyuki will be able to consciously choose the effect with training, though (thankfully) he does not seem able to apply these affects to living targets directly.
Supermoves:
Dust to Dust
The first technique Miyuki learned. He concentrates all of his anger and spite into a bloodcurdling roar. The purple flame erupts like an inferno from his maw, growing to encompass the target, which can be as large as a two-story building. Anything caught in the blast will deteriorate rapidly as if under entropy, until it is naught but ash. As far as Miyuki is aware, it should not be possible for anything to survive this attack. When it is finished, Miyuki is left with a gaping feeling in his stomach, and feels nauseatingly empty for the rest of the day, possibly longer. He’s sworn never to use it again.
Drawbacks:
By itself, Combustion Throat, while it may seem similar to Overheat! at first, is intrinsically connected to the user’s nervous system, which is to say that this Quirk does not require a catalyst of increased body temperature or the consumption of spicy ingredients to trigger the reaction. Instead, Combustion Throat burns the inside of Miyuki’s throat, affecting his voice and sense of taste with prolonged use. However, just as Combustion Throat EX magnifies these powers by many degrees, so too does it magnify the drawbacks. In addition to charring his voice, using the Quirk burns his chi as fuel, which has numerous adverse effects, the most prominent of which is the emotional damage on his psyche. This can cause permanent damage to Miyuki’s persona, as this Quirk quite literally burns away his spirit, drive, and attachment to things in order to unleash his incredible power. This can cause Miyuki to become more irritable, belligerent, and chaotic in general. Sadly, exercising his Quirk in this way is Miyuki’s most reliable coping mechanism. Unsurprisingly, Combustion Throat does not react well to water, ice, and cold temperatures in general. A dampened Miyuki has a significantly harder time unleashing his Quirk. It can also lead to difficulty breathing, as his esophagus has to work that much harder to get oxygen to his brain. This can ultimately cause him to faint from said lack of oxygen. When Miyuki is unconscious, he stops breathing fire, though any purple flames currently in effect will remain until extinguished.
Fighting Style:
Miyuki is a punk, and he fights like a punk. He isn’t below dirty tricks, and he expects others to fight like him. He doesn’t see himself as an honorable fighter, and he doesn’t care if he’s seen as dishonorable; so long as a Hero stops the villain and protects innocents, nothing else matters. Additionally, given the dangerous nature of his Quirk, Miyuki has extensive training in hand-to-hand combat to help give him an edge over others so that he doesn’t resort to his Quirk as his first option.
