Chapter 1 (DOOM, 1993)
Our hero Flynn Taggart started out as, well, a Marine. Tough as nails, semper fi, gung ho, the whole nine. Things go awry for the poor dude's career, however, when he assaults a superior officer for ordering his men to fire on innocent civilians. The USMC ships him off to Mars to be bored out of his skull as a glorified security guard for the United Aerospace Corporation (UAC), a conglomerate that has their dirty little fingers in everything. That includes, as it turns out, secret experiments into inter-dimensional teleportation technology on Mars' moons, Phobos and Deimos.
The experiments don't seem to be going that great even at the best of times, with people who go through the two working portals on each moon becoming physically or mentally broken. One day, though, things get exponentially worse, when Mars gets a distress call from Phobos stating, "Something fraggin' evil is coming out of the Gateways." That's exacerbated by the fact that Deimos just straight up vanishes from the sky.
The Marine and his buddies check things out on Phobos, with the Marine left guarding the perimeter. Things get awfully quiet over the radio after a while, though, leaving the Marine no choice but to take a pistol and check things out for himself. No pressure, though.
Chapter 2
As you no doubt guessed, things inside the base at Phobos suck. What humans are left are non-verbal and hostile, attempting to shoot their former squadmate on sight. They're joined by a host of snarling, disgusting demons who like to throw fire at you. Still, there's enough weaponry lying around the place for the Marine to make quick, steaming work of most things. No need to recount all that story; just imagine your average hamburger grinder, and imagine that grinder has a Marine's face. That's basically this series when it's not plot time. So let's stick to the important beats here.
Eventually, the Marine manages to find the portal leading to Deimos, and surprise surprise, the place is crawling with demons, sacrilegious imagery, and pulsating, disgusting architecture. After fighting through the Deimos base and killing a Cyberdemon abomination that's merged with some human tech, the Marine finds out the awful truth: Deimos has been teleported to Hell itself. Thankfully, he's got some experience under his belt killing demons, so the Marine rappels down to the surface, and fights his way to the ugly sucker who plotted the invasion: the Spiderdemon.
After leaving it a bloody pile of guts and rebar, the Marine takes the portal back to Earth and lives happily ever after. Just kidding! Hell's already invaded Earth, and billions of people are dead.
Chapter 3 (DOOM 2: Hell on Earth)
So, with Earth now a literal hellhole, humanity's leaders get the bright idea to take what's left of the species, launch a spaceship, go to space, and wait for this whole thing to blow over. Which is fine, except for the fact that demons have surrounded Earth's last operating spaceport with a barrier made of flame. Not a huge deal for a guy that's already killed his way through a legion of demons just to get to Earth, so the humans do manage to take off into the stratosphere.
Shortly after, however, the Marine gets a message from the human leaders stating they've found the source of the invasion: a portal in the Marine's hometown. Since there's no way to close it from the Earth side, the Marine once again takes a trek straight into Hell, and finds the source of it all: the Icon of Sin. After one of the most annoying fights imaginable, the Icon collapses, and the Marine can finally make his way back to Earth with his species and hopefully start to rebuild.
Chapter 4 (DOOM 64)
The Marine really tries to recover, but despite all the tests and treatments, he's still suffering from nightmares.
Meanwhile, back on Mars, there's still a bit of a demon problem, so the UAC decides to go scorched Mars on both Phobos and Deimos, blanketing them with apocalyptic levels of radiation. Things seem to be going well, except for the small problem that the radiation has a nasty habit of blocking the UAC's sensor equipment, which lets the literal mother of all demons slip into our dimension, and resurrect every single monster slain, stronger and nastier than ever. Thankfully, the Marine's got some serious mental issues to work out, and this little incident is just the catharsis he needs.
After killing his way through the demonic horde, he finds himself back in Hell, face to face with the Mother Demon, a face he takes great pleasure in rearranging with every rocket he owns.
After so many times facing these things, though, it's pretty obvious they aren't going to stop coming. Unless someone stops them where they live, that is. And so, the Marine makes the hard choice of closing the portal from the Hell side, and actually staying there to ensure no demon ever gets it through its thick, viscous brain meats to step foot on Earth ever again.
Chapter 5 (DOOM 2016 / DOOM Eternal)
In the time of King Novik, as the Argenta secured peace and safety through dimensions across time and space, Doomguy is found by the Night Sentinels in a valley outside the castle walls on Sentinel Prime. How he arrived is unknown. Sentinel scouts had found the Outlander bloodied, clawed and near death, mumbling of impending Doom and the forces of Darkness. The scent of blood followed him, and the gore that stained his armor seemed not entirely of his own. By Argenta law, he would be judged in the Coliseum, where he would be given the chance of all who stray from the Path to fight for his freedom.
His mind seemed crippled with rage. His will overcame his injuries, and in the Blood Arena, he proved his worth. His technique was crude and brutal, but the determination in his charge echoed that of any true-born Sentinel. His war cry echoed through the Coliseum as did the sound of his fury, and the guards cheered his banner, 'Rip and Tear' they shouted as the beast pushed beyond mortal wounds and certain death.
He would be gifted no rank, no title. The survivors in the Arena were provided only one reward - the right to earn an honorable death while spreading the blessings of the Maykrs to those in need.
Doomguy's determination was witnessed, his ravings documented, and through the word of the Order Deag, the Khan Maykr had him brought before her. She set her minions to learning his tongue, for with his ugly words he spoke of lands unseen, creatures born of fire and a dark place unknown to the Queen and her cast. Yet another opportunity to expand the gift of the Maykrs to those in need.
On the eve of the Black Star the Dark Ones came from a world beneath our own, not through ship nor ephemeral vessel but through the fabric of dimensions. Out of swirling, fiery gates came horned beasts from a timeless realm. First one, then many, crashing waves of evil swelled from the obsidian forest of the Argentian Overlands. The Alorum clans from the eastern mountains fell first to the black hordes of devils, and the city of Telorum was slung under the weight of their charge.
Chapter 6
He and the Sentinels rose to meet the beasts with spear in hand, the might of the holy fleet striking back at the demons, but the dark gates from whence they came gave birth still to even greater hordes. A line of blood was drawn with the fallen on both sides, and the Unholy Wars began as the time of darkness came upon us, thus beginning the first age. In the 1st Age, Hell constantly strove to take over the planet of Argent D'Nur in order to harness sentinel energy and expand their dominion.
Valen, the Crowned leader of the Night Sentinels, loses his son on the battlefield. In return for his offspring's revival, he betrays the Sentinels and the city by guiding the traitorous Deag Grav to the Wraiths. The Hell priests put a curse on their patron deities to siphon their homeworld's energy. To which, in a secret deal forged between the Maykers and Doom overlords, would blend Sentinel Energy with demonic essence in conjugation with the tormented souls of the fallen Argenta to produce the more so powerful Argent Energy.
Valen's son was returned to him, but in a twist to their bargain was instead resurrected as the Icon of Sin.
The demonized former sentinel tears the Argent City apart while everyone watched helplessly. To make matters worse, the Slayer and his contingent of Sentinel warriors ventured deep into the heart of Hell itself in order to bring the fight to their enemies heartland. Only for the noble warrior creed to find out the horrible truth behind the secret of Argent Energy. Not only was the fuel source utilized by the Argenten people fueled by the suffering and defilement of their fallen brethren, but their corpses were later transformed into legions of the damned after they're souls had been processed.
The Order soon realized they had been betrayed from within by the Argenten peoples very patron divinity; the Kahn Maker. It is revealed she had in fact helped construct the malignant devices which the Legions of the Doomed used to harvest the souls of their enemies, the slayer's people, her subjects, in order to process and refine their tormented souls and concentrate their inherent quintessence into refined Argent Energy.
Chapter 7
After they have returned to their homeworld to convey such a horrendous finding, the Night Sentinels found themselves rejected by their former capitol. As the Order Deag, now going by the moniker of the Hell Priests, corrupted by their exposure to demonic essence and the influence of the Kahn Maykr, had turned Sentinel society against those whom knew the awful truth.
Wronged, betrayed and consumed with rage, seeking vengeance, retribution, and redemption, the Slayer decides to reenact his murderous crusade on Hell alongside the resistance sect known as The Loyalists. A Seraphim class Mayker would spirit him away from prying eyes in order to give him immense power. In the time that followed however, another great Titan had been dispatched by the armies of Doom to waylay another Argenta city heralded by the Night Sentinels.
In an epic battle that waged for an untold period; the Slayer would rise to the occasion wielding his own Crucible Sword and strike the towering behemoth down. In awe of the foreigners might and menace; the people of Argent D'Nur crowned him as their latest king, inaugurating their savior with the moniker of the Doom Slayer. While trapped in Hell by yet another betrayal from the Hell Priests, an entity known only as "The Wretch" would seek the Doom Slayer out. He would enhance his armor into the Praetor Suit so that the Slayer can better survive in Hell with his newly obtained inhuman powers. As time may flow differently in this dimension, the Doom Slayer torments Hell for thousands of years long after the remnants of his Loyalist sect died out.
The demons, unable to defeat him, instead devise a way to contain him. After being lured into a trap at Kadingir Sanctum, he is captured by the forces of Hell, separated from his Praetor Suit, and trapped in a sarcophagus, sealed by demonic power with his prison marked with his signature symbol, a warning to all of Hell not to release him from his slumber.
Chapter 8
Samuel Hayden retrieved the Doom Slayer from Hell in case the demonic forces escaped onto Mars, which they did. He awakened him to stop a demonic invasion of Mars instigated by his former protege, Dr. Olivia Pierce. He is released from the sarcophagus, supplied with his Praetor Suit, and sent to work. He journeys between worlds, destroying the Gore Nests that serve as Hell's links to our world. Samuel Hayden guides him through slaying the demons on Mars and Hell, equipping him with a dimensional tether allowing him to travel between them. The Doom Slayer, disapproving of Hayden's deadly Hell energy-siphoning operations, destroyed the Argent Energy filters he asked him to carefully remove.
The Doom Slayer eventually retrieved the Crucible, used it to free the Wraiths from their subjugation and absorb their Argent Energy, and killed Olivia Pierce. Then Hayden uses the tether to return the Slayer to him, incapacitate him, and take the Crucible from him. Hayden explains that even though his attempts to siphon energy from Hell resulted in massive loss of life, he believes the massive energy crisis on Earth it's solving makes the ends justify the means. He claims that even though the Slayer destroyed the filters, he can rebuild his operation with the Crucible, which he reveals to be a long blade of pure Argent Energy. To prevent the Doom Slayer from trying to stop him, Samuel uses the tether to send him to a place where he can do no harm and where no harm will come to him.
It is here that he had discovered his new home and base of operations, known as the Fortress of Doom, a Sentinel Base that was long abandoned as it orbited Earth. He brought it back to life with his excess supply of refreshed Argent Energy, and he soon got all of it's internal systems fully functional again. He knew he was going to live here for a while, but with the backup of intelligent A.I. VEGA in his possession looking after the base, he won't be truly alone. He'll just have to be ready for the next encounter with his demonic enemies, shotgun in hand and eyes full of unending vengeance.

Drive: To kill every conceivable demon, in service of his ultimate goal of protecting humanity.
Visuals
Image: Any kind of image goes here.
[spoil]
[/spoil]
Visual Appearance: Doomguy is known to be a white American man that's 6'2" in height and 230 lbs. in weight. He has dirty blonde hair and gray eyes, having a very buff physique.
Clothing/Armor: His main clothing of choice isn't much, just a simple pair of brown short pants and a decent gray t-shirt. The majority of the time, though, he is in his Praetor Suit, the armor that was gifted to him by The Wretch, only revealing parts of his elbows. He also has his original armor, which also reveals his elbows and lower chest.
Personality
He is known to be a silent but intelligent and highly destructive character, only speaking when he feels is really necessary and relying on his actions to get his point across. He is always alert and looking for his enemies, while also mindful of others in his group if he happens to have companions. A man forged in ravenous war, he's not afraid to just kill a demon outright because of his ideals, that nearly all demons are beyond salvation, save for some very, VERY few exceptions. With his hate-fueled self comes a softer side that he tends to show sometimes with his allies, having a sort of "badass bro" mentality with his calm demeanor along with having a sense of sympathy.
Weapons/Items
Any and all items that your character wields. For canons, nothing but the things you start with at the beginning of your respective games, and the same goes for OCs. You may not edit this part once the character is approved without Moderator permission.
[spoil]
Praetor Suit- The main battle suit that the Doom Slayer wears around the battlefield. It manages his health levels and protects him from enemy damage with shield shards that he gathers from the environment. It's capabilities can be upgraded to give him different resistances, strengthen his special attacks, and activate some of his special tech like a secret loot finder.
[spoil]
Armor: [50] Max.
Health: [100] Max.
[/spoil]
VEGA- The A.I. he managed to salvage from his encounter with the demons when he stopped Dr. Olivia Pierce from bringing Hell's army to Mars. He's in constant contact with him, giving him updates and advice on various objectives as well as being his potent hacking program for various high-tech machinery.
Arm Blade- It's a standard extending arm blade. He uses it to help him in Glory Kills.
Chainsaw- His potent close-up weapon. He needs fuel to use it, but when it has a sufficient amount, he's able to use it to instantly ravage any standard enemy he finds, ripping them apart and having them release additional ammo and health packs for him to use in combat. (Max. 3 Fuel Slots, 1= Small enemy / 2= Medium enemy / 3= Large enemy)
Shoulder Gun- This is a side weapon that he keeps on his armor. It's mainly used as a flamethrower, and any enemies that are set on fire with this give him additional armor packs when he deals damage to them. This can be given upgrades to let him shoot grenades for extra damage and special bombs that let him freeze enemies for a short time.
Combat Shotgun- His classic head-buster weapon. There are two mods that he can acquire to amplify this gun's power, that he can switch between should he get them.
[spoil]
[LOCKED] Sticky Bombs > Pulling a side trigger allows him to turn his shotgun into a grenade launcher, letting him shoot up to 3 sticky bombs at once that cling to enemies and surfaces and explode after a short time.
[LOCKED] Full Auto > Pulling a side trigger allows him to use the shotgun as a fully automatic weapon, letting him fire multiple shots at once while holding the trigger.
[/spoil]
[LOCKED] Heavy Cannon- A powerful semi-auto combat rifle meant for dealing precise damage to larger enemies. There are two mods that he can acquire to amplify this gun's power, that he can switch between should he get them.
[spoil]
[LOCKED] Precision Bolt > Pulling a side trigger enables the semi-automatic loader that fires high-precision, high-powered rounds, much like a sniper rifle. Each round can pierce through smaller enemies in a row.
[LOCKED] Micro Missiles > Pulling the side trigger opens a pair of hidden racks of small missiles, and pulling the main trigger lets him fire those missiles at aimed nearby targets.
[/spoil]
[LOCKED] Plasma Rifle- One of his flexible weapons, letting him shoot plasma bolts at his enemies that deal a great bit of damage. There are two mods that he can acquire to amplify this gun's power, that he can switch between should he get them.
[spoil]
[LOCKED] Heat Blast > With this mod, firing the rifle will build up excess heat that he can release with the side trigger, firing a powerful energy blast at enemies in front of him.
[LOCKED] Microwave Beam > Pulling the side trigger lets him acquire a target, then pulling the main trigger will fire a concentrated beam of energy at that target that continuously damages them, making them explode should they die from the damage from it.
[/spoil]
[LOCKED] Rocket Launcher- One of his heavy-hitters, letting him shoot rockets at enemies. There are two mods that he can acquire to amplify this gun's power, that he can switch between should he get them.
[spoil]
[LOCKED] Remote Detonate > With the pull of the side trigger, he can remotely detonate any rockets he fires that are in mid-flight.
[LOCKED] Lock-On Burst > Pulling the side trigger lets him lock onto a target, and pulling the main trigger lets him fire three homing rockets at that target.
[/spoil]
[LOCKED] Super Shotgun- His Old Faithful, a powerful double barrel shotgun that deals massive damage at close range. It only has one upgrade mod that he can acquire.
[spoil]
[LOCKED] Improvements > These are general improvements to the weapon's damage ability, and it gives him a grappling hook that allows him to launch and use standard enemies as tethers to close gaps between them quickly, pulling him towards them.
[/spoil]
[LOCKED] Ballista- A super-powered energy-based crossbow that shoots powerful bolts at enemies. There are two mods that he can acquire to amplify this gun's power, that he can switch between should he get them.
[spoil]
[LOCKED] Arbalest > Pulling the side trigger and then the main trigger lets him charge up an energy projectile that embeds in an enemy and then explodes.
[LOCKED] Destroyer Blade > Pulling the side trigger lets him charge an energy blast, and pulling the main trigger lets him fire it when fully charged, letting it damage enemies as it flies in a straight line.
[/spoil]
[LOCKED] Chaingun- You can insert a Russian joke here. It's a heavy bullet pump that deals massive damage. There are two mods that he can acquire to amplify this gun's power, that he can switch between should he get them.
[spoil]
[LOCKED] Mobile Turret > Now you can put a TF2 joke here! Twisting the side handle lets him open the barrel into a three segment mobile turret. Firing the gun makes it heat up, and it stalls if it overheats.
[LOCKED] Energy Shield > Pulling a side trigger lets him release an energy shield in front of him that he can fire through, protecting him from damage from enemies in front of him for a limited time.
[/spoil]
[LOCKED] BFG 9000- The BIG F***ING GUN! The most powerful long-range weapon in his arsenal, it shoots a large green plasma ball that shoots energy beams around it, causing any enemies in the area to take immensive amounts of damage before exploding if they die from this attack. Usually, this is enough to one-shot an entire fleet of small and medium level standard enemies.
[LOCKED] The Crucible Blade- The most powerful close-range weapon in his arsenal, the weapon of a true Slayer. It's an energy sword that easily cuts through any standard enemy in one shot, but it needs energy in order to strike an enemy. (Max. 3 Energy slots, 1 Attack= One Energy slot used) These slots can be refilled using special energy packs that are found around the area he's exploring.
[/spoil]
Abilities/Powers
What does your character have power-wise? Can they climb really fast? Can they shoot energy beams? Again, for canons, nothing but the things you start with at the beginning of your respective games, and for OCs nothing too OP. You may not edit this part once the character is approved without Moderator permission.
[spoil]
Immense Physical Condition- Despite being human, he's shown to possess immense physical strength, endurance, stamina, and superior speed and reflexes. He outmaneuvers his opponents with great speed, avoiding their attacks, and yet is capable of enduring the hits that the Demons are able to land. His strength is sufficient to grapple and overpower superhumanly strong enemies in hand-to-hand combat, and perform gory "Glory Kills" to ensure their complete destruction. These abilities are all augmented by the Praetor Suit and are used when fighting against the Demons of Hell.
Destructive Empowerment- The most unique thing about the Doom Slayer is his ability to grow stronger and become even more tenacious with every enemy he kills. This is the result of the Seraphim giving him the ability to absorb the souls of those he killed.
Argent Energy Absorption- The Doom Marine can absorb Argent Energy from special sources (Argent Capsules and Sentinel Crystals) via his Praetor Suit, which reroutes it throughout the suit's subsystems and into his body. This allows him to increase either his Health, Armour or Ammo to maximum levels.
[spoil]
(Red > Locked, Green > Unlocked)
Health Boost: [+25][+25][+25][+25]
Armor Boost: [+25][+25][+50][+50]
[/spoil]
Rune Absorption and Usage- Through some unknown means, the Doom Marine is able to use mystic runes that he gains upon completing trials. Once a trial is complete, the Marine can then use a rune to gain new abilities. He can also acquire abilities by using sentinel runes, though they are more rare than the demonic ones.
Powerup Usage- Whereas the powerups (such as Berserk and Haste) were described as killing or driving human users mad, the Doom Slayer can use these without any trouble, sustaining full control and not taking any damage to either his body or mind from using such artifacts multiple times.
[spoil]
Quad Damage (Violet)- This multiplies the amount of damage his weapons deal by 4 for a short period of time.
Haste (Yellow)- This allows him to move much faster and guarantee an infinite amount of ammunition, all for a short period of time.
Berserk (Red)- This allows him to go berserk for a short period of time. While berserk, he can tear the most powerful of standard enemies apart with his bare hands.
Invulnerability (Green)- This makes him impervious to all damage from enemies for a short period of time.
Mega-Health (Blue)- This boosts both his Health and Armor stats to maximum levels (200 Each) when acquired, and this lasts until both the Health and Armor stats have gone back to their normal levels after taking enough damage.
[/spoil]
Expert Combatant- The Doom Slayer is a highly trained and experienced combatant, even when lacking ammo and weapons, he can slay demons just with his bare hands alone, without the need of any melee weapon, he can defeat and tear apart demons far bigger and stronger than him just with his own skills in hand-to-hand combat. With the Praetor suit, these skills are far increased, making him a monster in both armed and unarmed combat.
Weapon Mastery- The Doom Marine is capable of using any weapon or firearm in his possession with master proficiency. He can use all firearms he comes across with great effect, while also upgrading and modifying his arsenal. He is also capable of carrying a vast amount of weapons, carrying up to 12 weapons including special weapons (Chainsaw and BFG) and grenades.
Advanced Intellect- Hailing from a technologically advanced civilization, he is able to use technology from other worlds with no signs of unfamiliarity, despite resorting to violence.
[/spoil]
Roleplay Sample
The world floated slowly and softly in the distance as the Fortress of Doom loomed in orbit, a large and ancient structure that rested for centuries, only to be revitalized once again by an unexpected occupant. Within it's walls, incredibly advanced mechanisms were in place and the area seemed rather clean for it's old age, a single presence inside keeping it as such. This was the Doom Slayer, clad in his powerful armor as he walked through the halls toward the main console room.
It was an open room, being the center control module for anything big that was going on. It had a lot of bells and whistles that kept him informed of anything that was going on, the man turning on the radial interface system to try to get some news about what's happening on his planet. He casually checked the systems in the base as he listened.
~I assume that you are interested in visiting your home, Doom Slayer?~ The virtual voice came from his A.I. companion, VEGA, as he checked on him through the intercom. He slowly nodded as he closed one of the windows on his main console. "...It certainly has been a while..." ~It has seen a lot while you've been gone. Though, I am not sure if you will be easily welcomed.~
He couldn't agree more. Since the last demonic invasion on the planet, he had given everything he's got to keep the demonic hordes from getting to his home again. It's been such a long time. He might not even be recognizable to them anymore, but it's worth a shot. He stepped away from the console and made his way back to the entrance. He was going back to his room to work on one of his former gadgets.
If he was going to return to his place of origin, he needed to be prepared for the worst. Always.

Abilities/Powers
What does your character have power-wise? Can they climb really fast? Can they shoot energy beams? Again, for canons, nothing but the things you start with at the beginning of your respective games, and for OCs nothing too OP. You may not edit this part once the character is approved without Moderator permission.

Always.
