History:
While carrying the bloodline of shinobi, shrine guardians and yokai hunters in his blood, Hirose was not born into that lifestyle. His mother, despite being trained, gave up that life after being romanced in highschool. While he had contact with his maternal grandfather Takehiro from time to time, he was forbidden from exposing the child to the dark truth of the world. Though his natural athleticism from his bloodline was more than apparent as he played with other kids.
His seemingly unbreakable spirit often made him the target of bullying, though he only ended up in trouble most of the time merely out of association and sworn statements from other boys. While he didn't show it, he often felt miserable in how boring and predictable the world was. Hirose could practically predict the days whenever he would get into trouble, often sharing this viewpoint with his grandfather who acted as a confidante to his troubles. He did have a girl named Akeno who watched out for him from time to time, but she also clung to him a bit too much.
In junior high Hirose was eager to try out for sports but was forbidden by his mother, wanting him to focus on his studies instead of physical abilities. Akeno managed to follow him to the same school, even ending up in the same class. She got a little less clingy, keeping her distance and asking how he was from time to time. Though in hindsight Hirose realized that she was also making him unavailable to other girls who wanted to get closer to him. What came to shock him the most was that every highschool ended up rejecting him despite his grades. Out of desperation, his mother went to her father for aid, asking him to aid his grandson, not knowing that it was by his hand that Hirose had no options aside from military school. He managed to produce an acceptance letter just in the nick of time for an academy style school, tricking his son in law into signing the form.
While Hirose was packing, his grandfather came to see him off, giving him a ring as a present. He accepted the ring, not realizing its true purpose until later. On the bus to this academy, he was surprised to see Akeno waiting for him.

Powers/Abilities:
Bloodline: Hundreds of years of breeding, deities granting their boons and a bit of genetic engineering in the early 20th century have given his family a bit of an edge over the average Human, though it is not readily apparent. Compared to someone off of the street he has incredible stamina and agility.
Spirit Energy: While not dissimilar to a Yokai's yoki, this energy is produced by his body. As a novice he is unaware of all of its benefits and uses. Only stumbling through protective and healing abilities after having his powers awakened. When flustered he may even boost his strength or speed... or maybe toss out an energy blast if scrambling around.
Weapons/Items:
Artifact Ring: A gift given to him by his grandfather. While ornate and seemingly harmless, it is made of a steel blessed in a sacred spring with a number of nearly microscopic spells written on the ring designed to awaken his powers and reinforce his body. It also acts as a limiter so that he doesn't accidentally kill a Human or Yokai.
