Physical description: Yanagi is an eight foot tall born and bred girl of Wano with unique short bobbed silver hair with a red streak. Her eyes are an aquamarine green and several scars along her arms, stomach, and the back of her neck depicting past wounds.

Clothes: Yanagi wears a floral red kimono with various attachments including a white breast band beneath with lightweight black leggings below. She has black arm sleeves that snugly fit around said arms that are rarely worn as she prefers to show off her scars. 

While she does sport cloth boots, she prefers to wear her hand-carved geta.



Defining feature: Besides her height, her outlandish garb makes her stand out alongside her silver hair with a red streak.

Personal Info

Personality: Yanagi is a bright and cheerful young woman who dreams big and makes even bigger claims. She adheres to her promises no matter what and tends to be exceedingly curious about culture outside of Wano but oftentimes finds herself sharing much more of her own. When she sets her mind to something, there is no talking her out of it. When someone or something threatens to break her promise, she will fight tooth and nail to find a resolution no matter what. When not fighting, Yanagi is incredibly sympathetic and very positive. She is a great listener and pays attention to most details even when some think she isn’t. When fighting, she shows extreme focus and a cool-head. Very rarely will she lose her cool. In this case, her wrath becomes a truly frightening thing to witness.

Morals: Yanagi believes in repayments of debts big and small. If anyone helps her out of a bind, she becomes loyal to them until the debt is repaid. A life debt has varying degrees. She believes everyone has the right to choose freedom and what they themselves consider freedom.

Flaw: Yanagi is more often than not a glutton and will eat even the inedible food if it means it’ll cure her starvation. She is also incapable of lying and if she tries, she is incredibly terrible at it. She is also honorable to a fault wherein she will loyally follow whomever she deems worthy until the end of her days. She is also terrible with money as soon as some graces her palms, she spends it immediately. Usually on food.

Personal Goal/Dream: To part the entire ocean with single sword slash

Defining Moment: When she was young, her grandfather would show skills of his own swordsmanship to her including completely but temporarily reversing the flow of a waterfall with but a singular sword stroke. Being a child, Yanagi wanted to prove she could do even better and promised her grandfather she would one day split the entire ocean in two with a single sword stroke.

Hearing that, her grandfather made her a sword to inherit when she came of age and from that day forward, Yanagi never broke a promise. It was what led to her exile at 24; four years earlier than intended.

Combat Style:

The Four Cardinal Beast style of Swordfighting gives Yanagi flexibility in combat that allows her to respond whether she is up close or at a distance. But generally speaking, she prefers to be close to allow minimal recovery time.

Techniques:

One Sword Style- Genbu: Shellspin- An overhead sword technique that starts from the top then rotates in either left or right, meaning to deflect projectile attacks and can be repeated with continuous rotations

One Sword Style- Genbu: Black Flipper- Technique that evolved from Shellspin that turns the blade around to its dull side after building up enough speed to swing with a bludgeoning force. Accompanying this, some say, comes the image of a black-skinned tortoise whose flipper aligns with the blade strike as if the target is being struck with the beast's firm, unyielding flipper. Meant as a non-lethal strike

One Sword Style- Suzaku: Wingcutter- An anti-air technique wherein the user turns their blade before leaping upward into a swing

One Sword Style- Byakko: Tigerclaw- A quickdraw technique that releases 3 quicks cuts to symbolize a claw, meant to quickly take down a single target.

One Swords Style- Seiryuu: Dragonshout- A combination of a single sword slice creating a shockwave that pulls multiple targets in before sheathing her sword then performing an Iai draw to create an opposite force shockwave to strike all the drawn in targets.
