Physical description: Mahonia is a tall and slender woman with long blond hair with blue highlights tied and styled into a bun on her head, a braid fixed across her hairline, and two cork-screw curls of hair framing her face. She is considered one of the most beautiful women in the Marines. Her eyes have a piercing ice-blue shade; her eyebrows are blue, her eyelashes are voluminous, and her skin pale.

Clothes: Mahonia perfectly dresses the part due to her noble upbringing. She is always immaculate, clean and professional. With long dresses, misleadingly assumed to be difficult to fight in but designed for movement and comfort. More often than not, she is keen on colours in the blue spectrum. Anything from midnight blue to indigo and purple can be found in her wardrobe. Her uniform is often casually worn over her shoulder, freeing her arms and hands.

Defining feature: One of the most telling ways to recognize her is by her wide-brimmed hats, often decorated with feathers, flowers, gemstones or ribbons.

Personal Info

Personality: Mahonia is calm, taciturn, level-headed, and analytical, preferring not to engage in combat: she is content with silently observing her marines until the fighting reaches its conclusion or forced to step in. Mahonia is mostly very serious, and she rarely smiles or gives compliments freely, taking great pride in her position in the Marine. She makes it a professional point never unnecessarily reveal emotions or thoughts on or outside the battlefield, even when something unexpected happens. Her noble upbringing has given her many advantages; one is her impeccably good manners, speaking respectfully to all she encounters, be they nobility, marine or pirates.

Mahonia almost constantly exuded magnanimity and sternness, being held in great respect (and some fear) by nearly all subordinates. Used to having her way, she tolerated neither audacity nor silliness from others and is known to turn cold towards people who said or do stupid things in front of her or if she think they were trying to be funny.

In truth, Mahonia strongly believes in law and order. As an officer of the Marines, she works hard for a peaceful society. She feels that no one else will if someone in her position does not follow the laws as a good example to her soldiers. She strongly believes that to maintain order; all law-breakers must be punished, even if doing this goes against her wishes, such as when her father was sent to Impel Down for treason. Despite her icy and regal manner, Mahonia cares for and protects those important to her, which in recent years are her Marines. As such, she expects only the best conduct from all her subordinates and holds them to the same high standards that she holds herself.

However, she isn't afraid to speak her mind and shows quite a sharp tongue, especially during arguments.

Morals: Criminals are those who break the law. As such, criminals must be punished by the full force of the law. Mahonia's morals can, more often than not, put her in a position of perceived evil. She is ruthless towards all who have earned her ire or that of the Marine. There are no qualms behind using the full might at her disposal to crush opposition, even if the criminals have previously been close personal friends or even family.

Passion:

• Law & Order: Raised upon the importance of following orders and respecting the laws as they are written. Mahonia is a living example of a perfect soldier in the eyes of the Marines. She burns for upholding the established order now completely shattered by the age of piracy.
• Her Nephew: Mahonia's only real weakness is her younger brother's son, her Nephew. Because she promised her now dead brother to keep him safe, Mahonia smothers the boy, making sure he will NEVER become an officer or climb the ranks of the Marine, largely because of the risks that involve missions for such positions. He is better kept where he cannot get into trouble. She does have a surprising amount of patience with him, as he is the only member of her family she still has left, at least those who have not been arrested, killed or defected.
• Crystal Figurines: Since she was a little girl, Mahonia has been collecting crystal, glass and gemstone figurines. She makes a habit of perusing for new finds whenever she happens to be in a new city and can find the time to do so.
• Courage: Mahonia values bravery and courage highly, believing cowardice to be a heavy flaw.

Loathe:

• Pirates: The very notion of pirates and treasures has caused the world to go mad. Ever since the Age of Piracy began in full force, her hatred for them has only continued to grow and fester. It is not good to let things fester, so she aims to do something about it... crush as many as she can get her hands on.
• Her Father: Once a respected, powerful man, he betrayed all the family stood for when he caused her younger brother's death with his unlawful conduct. Mahonia's hatred for her father (who is still alive) is absolute. He is not dead because she opted to arrest him instead, as she refused to lose her sense of duty.
• Traitors: Worse than pirates, in her eyes, are those who would stab their friends in the back to gain something. Be that Marine betraying their orders or a pirate trying to sell out another pirate. This is only one reason she hates the Warlords, as she views them as turncoats.

Flaw:

• Cocktails: The less-known thing about her is that Mahonia does have a small alcoholism problem. Not enough to disrupt her work, but enough so she can often be seen holding a cocktail at the most unusual moments or asking for one when a fight rages. Anything fruity, cold and refreshing is bound to pique her interest.
• Good soldiers follow...Orders: Mahonia obeys the law, even if the law causes misery to herself and others. It will take a miracle to make her see otherwise.

Personal Goal/Dream:

Mahonia's personal goal is to climb the Marine ranks while crushing as many enemies as possible. It is a straightforward dream, but someone has to be in charge, and if that someone is her, that is all the better for everyone.

Defining Moment:

• Joined the Marine at the age of 16 and was placed under the charge of her father, one of the Vice-Admirlas of the times. He was a stern and serious man who took great pride in upholding the values of the Marine—something he ingrained into his daughter, which would turn out to be part of his downfall.
• Mahonia's mother died during an assault by the Marines as they were tasked with destroying a crew of pirates at Notice in North Blue, an event that deeply shook her father's convictions. He became a changed man after that, angry and bitter. She still blames herself, not having noticed the old man's shifting loyalties. Or those who would attempt to corrupt him.
• The North Blue Treason: The most defining and tragic event in Mahonia's career took place in North Blue when her father, together with a group of revolutionaries, staged an attack on a Marine outpost containing Pirates waiting to be transported to Impel Down. A violent battle between the traitors, revolutionaries, pirates and Marines followed. Mahonia took charge of the situation, rallied the confused troops, and defeated her father in single combat. She is still unsure if she won fairly or if the old man could not go all out against her. Worse, her only sibling, a younger brother, was killed in the chaos with his wife, leaving Sonja to protect their young son, her nephew, who was now without parents.
• Mahonia was promoted largely due to her unflinching loyalty in the face of such a personal enemy.
• Has since dismantled several fledgling pirate crews before they could make much of a name for themselves.

Ongle de la Reine (Queen's Fingernail): Mahonia's weapon is an estoc hidden inside her umbrella, tipped with seastone. It can be a deadly weapon, even against Devil Fruit users that would otherwise be unharmed.

Skills:

• Duelist: Contrary to her appearance, Mahonia is a very accomplished duelist and can be very deadly using her preferred weapon, an Estoc hidden inside her umbrella. This surprisingly long sword functions more like a nail and cannot be used for cutting. Instead, Mahonia opts to pierce her enemy, stinging them to death.
• Administration: Being an officer in the Marines, she needs to know the ins and outs of the running of not only her troops but also things like the economy, politics, ship maintenance, and so much paperwork.
• Sharpshooter: Mahonia knows her way around firearms, and she is usually carrying with her several pistols for this express use. It is not that she could not fight in close combat. It is just that she prefers to keep her actual skills hidden when needed. 
• Dexterity & Durability: Her endurance and durability are very impressive. Years of intense physical training have made Mahonia's body tremendously tough and hardy. Something her enemies often underestimate or fail to understand from the way she dresses and looks. As a cherry on top, her agility, reflexes, and speed are tremendous, rivalling that of many pirates and marines. She is fast enough to appear disappearing and reappearing for those not trained in combat. Able to dodge gunshots at point-blank range.

Combat Style:

Where other Marines like to use weaponry or firearms, Mahonia's most deadly weapon is her blade. Contrary to her appearance, Mahonia is a very accomplished duelist and combatant who mainly focuses on her version of Rokushiki in combat, having created her brand of duelling where she combines the idea of martial arts with the usage of an estoc, giving her more versatility and originality. She mainly combines stabs, gymnastics and acrobatic prowess to match opponents. 

Techniques:

Geppo: Mahonia has mastered a technique that allows her to push herself off the air with superhumanly strong kicks, allowing them to travel through and remain in midair for an extended period. It effectively resembles flight. Mahonia can use this technique to cross great distances without touching the ground or setting herself up for swift aerial attacks—a useful tool to move about the battlefield in unpredictable ways.

Geppo Sasu: With her Geppo, Mahonia gains air momentum by going high up before letting gravity do the rest as she strikes her foe with incredible force and speed.
Geppo Hatsubai:The opposite of Sasu, instead of attacking from above, she uses Geppo to push herself upwards, bringing an opponent with her into the air.
