Common Info
Hello! My name is Diggory, but my friends call me Dig, yip!
Name: Diggory
Alias: Dig (Friends), The Lightning Devil (The Marines)
Titles: Lookout, Barber, and Taste-tester. (Also, the captain's assistant, she just doesn't know it yet...)
Race: Mink Tribe
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Place of Origin: Unknown Island, New World
Bounty:
(as the The Lightning Devil)
None (As himself)
Physical Info
Visual Picture:
"Stop calling me cute! I'm fierce and deadly, like... like a... fierce and deadly something, yip!"
Physical description:
Diggory is a fox mink with red/brown/white fur, a pointed snout, a round nose, sharp teeth, and long whiskers.
Clothes:
He wears the typical clothes of people living in West Blue, with simple brown pants, a beige button-up shirt, a moss-green vest, and a bright yellow bowtie. On top of that, he is generally never seen without a very long blue scarf, so long that he can wrap it several times around himself and still have enough for it to hand down to the floor. He does not use shoes and tends to have minimal jewellery, but he does have a golden ring around his left ankle and another ring around his right wrist.
Defining feature:
Diggory is a very small Mink. Even by Mink's standards, he is below the size for his age should be, standing a roughly 3 feet in height. This often makes people mistake him for more of a little kid than he is.
Personal Items:
"I find pickles work with anything, on anything, or inside anything you eat, yip. Mmmm, pickles"
Personal Info
"My heartbeat is thunder, yip!"
Personality:
Dig's personality can be summarized in one of the sayings: bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and he often embodies it both in action and personality. He is willing to work hard, determined to prove himself, and happy to be included when things happen. Most of the eagerness stems from a need to belong since that is a luxury he has not often been given. Diggory approaches situations calmly and carefreely. Of course, he can be serious about fighting or personal matters regarding loyalty and pride. Most of the time, he is highly optimistic and always sees the bright side of situations. He takes issues with a smile and an upbeat nature, even if only to not lower the morale of his friends in the crew. It's important to note that he is not delusional, however. He knows there is a time and place for everything, and even if a joke can lighten the mood, he is wise enough to know what he should not do. Diggory has an intense thirst for adventure, born mainly from his desire to find his parents and family, combined with wanting to make sure he has lots of stories to tell them when they are reunited again. Not IF, but WHEN. The world is full of wonder, and he cannot wait to experience and see all of it!
Dig rejects becoming anything like a "god", which seems to be the recurring story for those possessing a Logia fruit. He wishes to do whatever he wants, though this never comes at the cost of crewmates or friends.
The young Mink is also very kind by nature and has been described by others as having very gentle eyes and a compassionate if a little energetic, persona. He exhibits excellent determination and will not give up once he has a goal to achieve, whether finding a meal for the day or reuniting with his parents. However, despite his kind and understanding nature, Diggory does have a limit to his tolerance and has a distaste for cowardice and spiteful rudeness. The banter between friends is fun, and friendly fights can be a source of great joy, but only from a mutual source of respect and not out of spite.
He is direct and honest, taking everyone's words sincerely and seriously.
Under Diggory's rather kind and friendly shell is a person with a growing fire of rage and vengeance inside of them. Towards those who saw him as an animal or pet, towards the Marine who hunts him as something he is not, and himself for being too weak to use the full might of his powers. Do not mistake kindness and goofiness for weakness.
He also tends to end his sentences with, Yip
Morals:
Diggory firmly believes in the creeds of loyalty, friendship and honesty. He thinks this is best achieved through the freedom of individuals to act independently, not limited by laws or rules, but in the end, what feels suitable must be right. He believes in all the virtues of goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. His actions are guided by his moral compass, which, although good, may not always be in perfect agreement with the rest of society. Dig is good but tends to be a little selfish and maybe a bit greedy at times. He will never attack an unarmed foe and will never harm an innocent. He will not use torture to extract information or for pleasure, but he may "rough up" someone to get information. He will never kill for fun, only in self-defence or the defence of others.
Passion:
He shares his captain's spirit for adventure, exploring new places, meeting new people, eating fresh foods, and making new friends where possible.
Loathe:
If there is one thing Diggory hates, it's those who would exploit others for personal gain, trample over their freedom and restrict what they can and cannot do. Punish someone for what they were born as or think they have more rights due to status, age or the size of their wallet.
Other minor things
Flaw:
He can be very impulsive, rash and stubborn. His course of action is usually taken in the blink of an eye, much to the annoyance of others at times. On top of that, he also has a big fear of his Fruit abilities, restricting himself subconsciously as he fears the collateral damage he could cause. There also is some inferiority complex and intrusive thoughts that he is not suitable to wield such power and what it might do to him if he tries to embrace it.
Personal Goal/Dream:
Diggory's goal is to travel the world with his friends and experience what the world offers regarding food, entertainment, and wonders. Linked to that, he dreams of finding his parents, wherever they might be, hopefully making them proud of him. At the same time, he can introduce them to his new friends.
And hopefully, grow a little taller...

Devil Fruit Info
Lightning Devil sound so... evil, yip. I would want to be the Great Storm Mink, yip!
Devil Fruit Name: Goro-Goro ni Mi (Rumble-Rumble Fruit)
Devil Fruit Type: Logia
Abilities:
After eating the Fruit at the black market auction, Diggory got the power to become lightning itself. The young Mink can generate, manipulate, and transform into electricity. Diggory can discharge variable amounts of electricity from his body and, to an extent, control it as he pleases, including regulating its voltage. Diggory still has a somewhat limited understanding of what his Fruit can do, other than being convenient as a party trick to cut his hand off as a joke... but that gets old after a few times.
Like any Logia, Diggory can physically morph into his element, and is immune to the element he is made off of. As pure electricity, he is intangible and can let most attacks (sans those involving Haki or Seastone) phase through him harmlessly (even if he forgets this! ). Enemies are dissuaded from directly striking the Mink — with their body or an electrically conductive weapon — lest they be electrocuted, affording a melee-combat advantage. That is if he was good at melee combat or intelligent enough to use it effectively. Still, you could pop popcorn with it. And did you see this neat trick where he cut off one hand?
Moreover, should Diggory have access to naturally or unnaturally formed thunderclouds in his vicinity, he can use said clouds to dramatically boost the range of his abilities.
That is to say, the potential is not to be underestimated, and Diggory has the potential to be outstandingly potent, given the inherent destructiveness of lightning.
Weakness:
For Diggory, a significant weakness is inexperience, age, fear and anxiety at being in an alien state. He is no longer a Mink, but he is also not different. He is... lightning and keeps forgetting it. He fears what he might do or who he might accidentally hurt with these new powers. As such, he severely limits his output without thinking about it.
While extremely powerful, Goro Goro no Mi's ability has a unique weakness in rubber, a natural insulator. Diggory becomes virtually powerless if up against someone armed with rubber, such as a person with the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which functions as his natural enemy in those terms. Being hit by anything made of rubber completely bypassed Diggory's intangibility. In which case, he is not that dangerous... as his durability is low.
Any water can short-circuit Dig if he is soaked in it, but it will not depower him like being submerged in seawater would. It just makes using his fruit more difficult. It also isn't as effective against elements such as glass that would ground or insulate his lightning abilities.
Otherwise, Diggory suffers the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses, like losing his powers if submerged in water or contacting Seastone, and Busoshoku Haki also negates his intangibility.

Personal Equipment:
Skills:
I am a Mink!: Diggory has superior physical abilities to humans. He is highly agile and can leap incredible distances, even without the aid of his Fruit. He also possesses considerable stealth capabilities, being able to move without making any sound due to the softness of his paws and the nimbleness of his body. Like all minks, he had been a naturally skilled and powerful warrior since birth, knowing how to defend himself since he was a newborn. Additionally, Diggory possesses extremely quick recovery rates and a strong metabolism.
Despite his great combat skills, as a mink, he is weakened by heat due to the thickness of his fur coat.
Boxing: He is by no means a champion, but he is no stranger to giving a sucker a sucking to the nose on occasion—nothing like a brawl between friends and all. He knows the form, he can throw some mean hooks, and his Mink physiology helps to make him more potent despite his size.
Look-Out!: As the crew's lookout, Diggory has excellent perception and is one of the first in the group to notice when things are fishy. His heightened senses as a Mink help, such as hearing, vision and scent.
We whip it!: To better control his powers in battle, Diggory likes to combine the power of his fruit with the chains he uses as weapons. Functioning like whips, he can send surges of energy through them in a fight, extending the reach of his attacks without tapping into the force of his Devil Fruit.
Haki:
Combat Style:
Diggory's combat style is quick and nimble, relying on a combination of his abilities and skills during a fight. Vielding chains of metal that he swings around like whips are generally his go-to strategy, with the occasional use of a knife or pistol as the situation calls for it. He loves Guerrilla tactics, using his superior speed and agility to draw out a fight into several smaller confrontations, slowly nips away at a foe until they are toasted, lightly seasoned, and preferably passed out.
There are, of course, times when he throws caution to the wind. Usually, if pushed to the point of rage, all gloves come off, and he will not hesitate to blast someone's face with lightning. At those times, he can become reckless, more so than usual, almost to the point of not seeing the collateral damage until it is already too late.
Techniques:
Mink Ultra Awesome Bite Attack, yip: Diggory bites someone with his sharp teeth.
Mink, Jab, Cross, Uppercut, yip!: Which is basically just a combo of boxing moves, but with feeling!

Defining Moment:
- Diggory has fond memories of his life with his parents on an unknown island. The memories are focused around his parent's scent (which he will never forget), the sound of their voices, and, oddly enough, that his father loved to make pickles. (Which he knows the recipe for by heart.) He used to ride on his father's shoulders, which he likes to do with others even today. Life was good, peaceful, and there was
- . The memories of how he was captured, or where he was taken, remain a mystery, and the memories are hazy at best. He feels that he used to live somewhere in the New World and that his parents would still be there. After his capture, he was seen and treated like nothing more than an adorable pet to be ogled at or dressed up in cute outfits. Comparably speaking, his life was less horrible than many others, but it was still a cage; it did not matter how gilded it was.
- He overheard a group of Pirates talking about running into a Mink in the new world that had decimated their crew and destroyed their ship. Diggory noticed a scent lingering on the criminals; it was the scent of his parents! They were alive and not captured or had managed to escape! He needed to do the same!
- Diggory's chance at freeing himself came when he was taken to a black market auction; he was there with his current "owner" as a pet. Objects were shown, things came and went, and slaves were sold to the highest bidder. The grand prize that everyone was after was a fruit, a devil fruit with powers described as those of a "god". Resting on a fluffy pillow inside a wooden chest was where he saw it—the Fruit.
He had no thought of ever getting his hands on the Fruit at the time, he would watch it be sold to someone, and that was it. However, in the middle of the bidding, there was a raid on the location by the Marines. Having infiltrated the event, they moved swiftly to try and claim the Fruit for themselves. It became pandemonium as the criminals attempted to defend against the attackers. As the assault reached the stage, one of the showgirls panicked and pushed the table with auction objects over to escape. As fate would have it, the Fruit fell out of its box, rolling up right where Diggory had been abandoned by his "owner", who escaped when the chaos started. He saw the chance and took it, swallowing the Fruit without even considering what it might do.
As the Marines charged for him, fuelled by anger, fear and desperation, Diggory wanted nothing more than to escape. As he bared his fangs at the attackers, ready to defend himself with what little he could, he became lightning. An incredible magnitude and force explosion raptured from him, engulfing the whole building and surrounding area in a lightning storm. Those who survived to talk about it spoke of a fox-like beast clad in a storm, decimating the island.
Diggory escaped, ending up adrift on the ocean inside a barrel of salted cod.
Family Tree:
- Doggarthy - Diggory's father, a dog mink, loyal, brave and true.
- Diamantina - Diggory's mother, a fox mink, sly, fast and strong.

- Shake my hand!: A prank he likes to pull to give someone a nasty, not dangerous, surprise.
- Lightning Fox Snap!: Diggory's go-to way of attacking with his Fruit is to discharge variable amounts of electricity, usually from his hands by snapping his fingers, clicking his heels, or whipping his tail. He could potentially do more damage but remains shackled by his fear for now. Not unless he gets furious, then who knows what might happen.
- Out the way!: Quick like a flash is a fitting description; Diggory has learned how to use the power of his Fruit to increase his reflexes, speed and agility. The crew's theory is that he was always naturally nimble and quick. The Fruit just boosted what was already there. He has also experimented with conducting himself through metallic objects but finds the whole thing... weird.
