Today was the day. Today was the day he'd bring his discovery into the light for all to see. A way for the non quirked to stand up against the oppressive rise of quirks, and hero society. All of it was sickening... He'd raise his head. The tint of a black car hid him from the world. He wouldn't speak, the driver was a gaurd... some quirked hire from the protection agency. It was nice that this gentleman wasn't the talkative type. The scientist would grit his teeth at the thought of meeting up with other gaurds. They were UA alumni and students, in other words the enemy. Why couldn't the agency pick any regular humans? They'd stop at the back of a grand-looking hospital. It was stark white, and it's pillars held up modern architecture, and curved glass. It was the perfect venue for the perfect product. He'd make sure everyone had it in their hands. This precious blue liquid... His name was Tanigaki Ero, a "researcher" if that were even the proper word. He was an affiliate of the group, Alternative, a slowly growing radical group that outwardly opposed quirks and mutants. Ero himself had recently been aquitted and found innocent in his trial, subsequently releasing him from Musutafu's Iron Gate holding facility, and prompting him to go about his business. He was in the middle of a great breakthrough on his product. A Hyper-stim, something that could turn an ordinary man great, and a quirk man even greater. A super drug that hardly had any large group testing and was created by a more... black market means. The public wouldn't know this of course. They'd only know of his affiliations and be weary of that, but progress was progress. Any businessman or medical specialist with a brain would have to at least hear him out... With a discouraging look, funding would come his way if he pitched this right. That's all that mattered to him... all for the plan. The car would softly reach a stop, and the gaurd would wrap around the car to open the door for the man. Hmph, the creature knew his place... good enough. It would be inside where he'd be surrounded by them. "Let's get this over with." He'd puff a clear umbrellaa over himself, and walk toward the doors with the gaurd in toe. "Kyoya.""Eh?" Why was it talking to him now? What happened to that happy silence? Why break it now? "The name of one of the people protecting you. It's my name...""As you were. Nice and quiet." Ero replied. The gaurd narrowed his eyes and clutched his fist. Ero had enough mind to know who was quirked and who was. With open arms he'd hug the non quirked, gentlemen welcoming in. It was unsettling to see someone so blatant in their beliefs. It was here in lobby where he'd meet the rest of his guards. In front of the hospital was a podium and a red carpet leading up to it. There was quite the crowd, mainly a bunch of suits and lab coats. ~Just as it should be. They're all here to learn about my product!~He thought to himself with a joyous grin. The smile would cease when addressing them. "Well? I'm assuming you have something to say?" He would hardly maintain eye contact, his gaze was trained outside those glass doors. Waiting on standby in the hospital lobby stood a certain light-haired boy, wearing a stern but otherwise blank expression with his hands in the pockets of his black jacket. Ryoken Shidou had been called by U.A. for this assignment as part of its protection agency, and considering the group gathered here, it seemed like the client this time was insistent on the maximum possible strength available, with the academy sending both the #1 and #2 from the second years. Less thrilling to Ryoken was who the client seemed to be, when they had been given basic information on him. If someone like Tanigaki Ero was so discriminatory against quirks — or well at this point, the vast majority of the human population — the young man wondered why they were even brought on for this job in the first place. But, despite everything, a client was a client, and Ryoken's pride would not allow him anything less than perfect completion of the task, like he had done so many times before with everything else.
Seeing Ero in person only seemed to reinforce the impression that he had gotten from the client dossier. A rude and arrogant man, but direct and to-the-point. There was probably worse conditions out there, if this man was at all cooperative with their protective efforts, it shouldn't be too difficult to keep him alive at least. Ryoken slightly raised an eyebrow at Ero's query, lowering his gas mask from his nose to under his chin to speak. "I thought the assignment was to keep you safe, not engage in small talk." He shrugged, clearly not bothered or impressed by the man's status or background, or especially his 'research'. As troublesome as his ideas were, they were not relevant to their current job. "Although, I suppose it would be effective for faster communication if we introduce ourselves. Since we're here on business, you can refer to me by White Glint."

Outside of patrol details at his internship, it was a rare opportunity to be hand picked for hero work. I mean... sure they were acting as a bodyguard detail for a narcissistic bigot who loathed their very existence... but Alain was level headed enough to stomach his distaste in lieu such a privilege. Much like his classmate Ryoken, Alain found himself waiting on standby in the lobby of a large Tokyo hospital, the host of a medical presentation by one Tanagaki Ero, a prestigious, if controversial researcher. From the information they'd been given in their dossiers, this man sounded like the absolute last person Alain wished to protect. He was an asshole, hateful and derisive towards the lions share of the global population by sheer proxy of their genetic makeup. But... Gigabite and Thunderclap had instilled serious lessons on the moral impositions applied to heroes in their line of work. All civilians were under their protection, even the spiteful bastards who spat in the faces of heroes.
While awaiting the arrival of their VIP Alain busied himself with an inventory check, a thorough countdown of the various magazines loaded into his equipment belt. "Four mags of pepper... four of rubber rounds, gauntlets preloaded with pepper makes uhh... hundred and twenty rounds total. Enough for maybe... twenty or so scattergun bursts. Two mags of smoke bombs for cover..." His focus broke as a tinted car pulled up, and Ero Tanagaki stepped out to meet them. Despite his stoic gaze, Alain could feel the revulsion in Ero's presence from across the room. It was painfully clear that as much as Alain disliked the idea of playing bodyguard for this guy, he absolutely hated the idea of heroes acting as his protectors in much the same right. Still... their roles called for professionalism, tongues could be bitten until the job was done. He stuffed his magazines back into their belt loops as he moved to join the others, standing at a loose attention. "Blitzkrieg, sir." There was a cold, neutral chill to Alain's tone. Usually when dealing with civilians as a standing hero he held a greater enthusiasm, gearing himself to be more charming and approachable. This was about the best Ero would get out of him though.

Tyra examined the students that had been assigned to this mission. In truth protecting one unpleasant individual probably didn't require three heroes... but she was a recently graduated pro hero and this kind of event was good training for students, so here she was, three heroes guarding one man who resented their very existence but would still gladly benefit from their help without once considering the hypocrisy. She really didn't like people like this all that much... but they were still people and thus she wasn't about to let one be murdered on her watch if she could help it. There was also the fact that this was an event with other people in attendance, they would need protection as well to ensure nobody became collateral damage.
Thankfully, the two students here seemed to be of the same mentality, adopting professional detached attitudes. They had the right idea for sure, do the job they were required too, and keep emotions out of it so the guy couldn't get under their skins and make things more difficult. She was pleased UA had chosen good students to send to her for this. She also recognized them from the sports festival, and Alain she knew from his debuts in the news in the past year, and a bit from Momma Bear whenever the two of them worked together on some charity event or another. It would be good to see him in action after all the good things she'd heard.
Glancing at their client as everyone introduced themselves she'd follow suit "Mother Earth" she said, introducing herself concisely "I'm aware of your distaste for us, so we don't need to engage in any more talking than is necessary. I will remind you though that we ARE here to keep you and the attendees of this event safe. If something happens, I expect you to set aside your pride and... 'opinions' and defer to us professionals instructions. If you don't we cannot guarantee your safety. Also we are here to protect everyone in attendance, not just you, so conduct yourself accordingly."
Tyra would leave it at that, the arrogant man would probably bluster and protest at the concept of taking orders from his 'lessers' or the concept of not being given special treatment above all others. People like this usually chafed under things like that, but regardless of his complaints Tyra's neutral expression wouldn't change. She'd simply turn to the students "come on, we need to get into position, and I'm sure this man has preparations for whatever little presentation he's risking his life over to make"
Tyra said this knowing full well the dismissive attitude towards the man would likely irritate him, but if he wanted to be passive aggressive towards them, he could endure a bit in return. Wouldn't want him thinking his attitude or blatant bigotry was acceptable or anything like that.
Once they were away from Ero, Tyra would speak to the students "hopefully nothing will happen, but if it does, I want you two to prioritize the other civilians in the area, make sure they don't become collateral. I'll be able to keep our arrog... 'distinguished' client safe without issue, I'm far more concerned about the assailants trying to take hostages or attacking indiscriminately and others being caught up in this. I've heard good things about you both, so I trust you'll do just fine with this."

Ah, so they'd all wise up and understand the need for introductions. That was well and good, at least these scum had common decency and quirks hadn't totally gone to their heads. That's what Ero would think. His eyes were attracted to the crowd despite each person having something to say. The gluttony for attention. It was like it gnawed at him... He'd pivot to address the heroes. He knew who they were. He'd done his research; Ryoken, Alain, Tyra, and Kyoya. Well... Kyoya wasn't a hero. He was with the protection agency. Strange that they'd allow him to work alongside them. He must have had quite the black belt in some martial art or another. Anyway, he'd glance to Ryoken-" Correct." His attention on Tyra, purely because she said the most. They were an expensive safety net, and as such, they needed to know their place. They were protecting him and most importantly of all, the product! "The ONLY reason you are here is to protect me. That is what was signed over in the protection agency's clause. Now I'm not sure you know how much I pai-"
Kyoya would cut Ero off and half-heartedly co-sign both parties. "Tanigaki Ero's life takes priority in any and all situations should something happen. I'll be at his side, so you're free to cast your umbrella of protection as you see fit."Neither side was wrong here. He just didn't want the egoist to escalate this into an argument. Luckily Tyra pulled them to the side.
Ero glared at the man for undercutting his legal advantage. Legally speaking if there always was a man on him, he WAS protected, and as such heroes were well within their right to protect others without having to worry about prioritizing. It was a hazard to be that petty, whether he paid for it or not. Kyoya wasn't one for engaging in these kinds of silly debates, but he didn't want Ero or the heroes to get the wrong idea. It reflect poorly on UA as an institution and the agency if things went sour.
"So be it!" He'd pulled small case from his breast pocket, and tap at it with his finger. "This chemical compound will change the life of millio- No billions!" His eyes pulled back to the crowd outside. Security had slowly built a stanchion gate to cull off regular civilians from joining the crowd of investors, researchers and business folk. Everyone within the line would slowly begin taking their seats, and there had been some production team members testing the mic. They'd even bring two large screens for projecting videos, as each speaker gave their presentation. The scientist would smile big. This was his moment as a creator. YES! Cars pulled up and their tint was a bit suspicious. Out came a slew of individuals, varying in size shape, and look. Naturally, someone so deeply against quirks would gather a fair amount of protestors. They'd stick close to their vehicles... It wasn't their first rodeo. They'd quietly sit by their cars, and due to the podium's vantage point, they'd be right in Ero's gaze when he looked into the crowd. Among the civilians gathering there even were some shady-looking people. Much like the protesters, they'd silently wait.
Whether he was hated or not, the product was more important than Ero himself. Kyoya took a deep breath and steeled himself for this whole ordeal. He'd tap at his ear and get himself on comms with the hero team. Next, he'd tap his cufflink and prep comms for the agency HQ. As the only representative, he was to give HQ play-by-plays. If they did well, he could cover and guard even higher-paying clients. He also would be able to report directly to UA on how well Tyra and the students did. To Ero, he'd speak up once more. "And... if something happens?" Naturally pulling him from the stage was a thought, but with an attitude like that... Would he even allow it? It couldn't hurt to ask.
"NOTHING WILL STOP ME FROM PRESENTING MY SERUM YOU QUIRKED DEVIL. I could be on fire, and I'll continue to speak on the benefits I can provide for all. For the forsaken average man, and its benefit for you scum as well. " He snapped, his tone serious as ever.
A slight glint of hate formed in Kyoya's eyes but quickly dispelled itself to procure some proper customer service. This was business... not personal. He didn't have to like Ero. This was just to propel the protection agency. "......... I see. My pleasure."
There'd be a few people before Ero to present a few things and ideas. In fact, the hospital's owner would share a few words, then the director. Some of the ideas were clever, some redundant, but nothing that stood out to far. With each speaker, the crowd grew lively. There even was a nice few-minute break between each speaker. Ero's speech wasn't too far. To be honest, the crowd seemed happy, but as they got further into the event, there was an ominous tension building. All because of this man.

Ryoken remained silent despite the exchanges between Tyra, Kyoya, and their client. The tension in the air was palpable, perhaps a bit too obviously, which gave him plenty of mental space to just set it all aside. Instead, the serious-as-ever young man remained on vigilant watch to continue steadily assessing the situation as time proceeded at a painfully slow pace. Of primary concern to him was not even the arrival of a convoy of spectators and assumedly protestors (because really, how many people would even be supporting Ero?), but the fact that the crowd's presence as a whole seemed ominous. It was hard to identify potential threats among the civilians when it appeared that quite possibly everyone could be a threat in this environment. Ryoken sincerely hoped that was not going to be the case. But, for the time being, he, much like the other bodyguards and spectators and everyone else, held his tongue while the presentation continued through its various phases and speakers. A part of him wanted to voice his thoughts to Alain and Tyra, but outside of the obvious observations, there wasn't really much insight he could add at this point. His body was standing at the ready, but this assignment truly would only start when Ero took the stage.

Despite the stoicism he showed, Ero's foul mouth and ego were growing a firmly seeded belief in Alain's mind, that this prick would absolutely deserve to live with a few less teeth in his mouth. His bigotry passed like water off a duck's back though, there was no benefit to taking such obvious verbal bait. With Tyra and Ryoken taking up positions around the presentation hall, optimally spaced to take advantage of their quirks in a pinch, Alain joined Kyoya on the stage as an adjacent guard. He had no doubt in his mind that their quirkless associate would be ready to move at the drop of a hat... but Alain knew he could move faster. The defensive bulwark of his quirk and his superhuman reactive speed meant that he could block an assault on Ero directly, or move to apprehend an assailant in an instant.
Between the growing audience of researchers and investors, and the civilian crowd beyond, it took all of Alain's diligence to scan for potential threats. There were some that were known about, but Ero had garnered enough of a dissenting opposition that nearly anyone could be a threat... and that was more dangerous. It made the possible insurgencies more unpredictable.

Tyra could only roll her eyes at the mention of the legal technicalities that their client supposedly was the priority. If he thought for a moment that pro-heroes were going to let innocents die because of some contract, he really was delusional. Besides, as the other bodyguard mentioned, their obligation was fulfilled so long as they always had someone defending him and acted in good faith to fulfil their obligation. Ero could seethe about it all he liked, but it wouldn't change a thing... and it seemed he knew that considering he dropped the argument.
The two students she was with went off to stand guard in their own ways without acknowledging her instruction to prioritize the other civilians in case of an incident and leave Ero to her. She did hope they would remember it if something did happen... it would be a legal mess if a civilian got hurt because they disobeyed a pro's instructions. But she'd give the benefit of the doubt here.
As the event progressed, Tyra set up an array of seeds in her body, growing some of them out surreptitiously as vines and roots underneath the floor and stage. Several clusters of binding vines that could pop up in the crowd and either pull civilians away from danger, or bind assailants, she spaced them out so she'd have near total coverage of the room, though there were spots where there was less coverage than others, particularly around the edges of the room. The closer to the center of the room you got, the more overlap there was with the vine clusters, so with any luck she could bind any attackers quickly if they were trying to blend into the middle of the crowd and not lurking by the edges.
More important than that was the defensive plant she set up beneath where Ero would be speaking, with some vines to drag him into it if he was stupid and moved too far away. It was a heavily armored plant akin to a flower bud that would wrap itself around him and give him a little bunker on the stage. With the amount of time she had to fine-tune this one, it would even be resilient against elemental attacks she normally struggled with like fire for a little bit. If anything happened, she could guarantee Ero's immediate safety unless the villains brought out some extreme firepower right out the gate.
As an afterthought, Tyra made one last modification to the defense plant, making the interior of the flower bud have a sticky and gross sap that would further insulate him against attacks... but really it was just to make the inside of the bud less pleasant for the bigot. She had to protect him, but nothing said she had to make him comfortable.

OOC: Just a reminder this is an outdoor venue in front of the hospital, not a room.
White Glint and Blitzkrieg were still students. Kyoya watched with a raised brow when neither of them heeded Mother Earth's direction. She herself seemed to go off to the side a bit. Kyoya squinted seeing movement at the back again.
(Key Moment) All the way in the back, near the protesters more came. They were significantly different though. The wore black hoods and cloaks and they're faces were covered in traditional japanese masks. With their get-ups, it was hard to tell if they were armed. As far as the Yakuza went, there were some differing factors depending on what city or family they were directly connected to. This was a big city, so many of these people were connected to different families while still hailing under the same umbrella. Even some of the masks differed greatly, from oni masks, to kistune masks, to tengu masks and so on. These folks were likely the Tokyo Division of the Yakuza, the assumed threat of today's event. They typically moved in secrecy, but for a gentleman like Ero and the anti-quirk group he was affiliated with... they'd make an exception. Even some of the venue goers would put on masks, upon seeing the Yakuza's arrival. Supporters perhaps? Maybe members? Were they planted there ahead of time? The issue was, neither the protesters or the Yakuza were breaking any laws. While the mutants were more vocal, it seemed these folks in masks were trying to put fear in Ero's heart with their mere presence. As it stood both they and the protesters came in peace... for now. They were on public property, outside of the ropes. Security began a fence structure since the number of outside spectators increased so drastically. More civilians would gather out of curiosity, along with both the mutant protesters and the masked group. With the stage set, now was the time to speak.
The protesters seems to get lively, but still remained outside of the velvet ropes and fence, as did the Yakuza and civilians. Interestingly enough the masks were the least aggressive of the crowd. Perhaps, despite their hate of him and those like him, they wanted to know what merits he was going to present on his invention. There was a steep mix of cheers and jeers from the businessmen and woman, and lab experts in the actual venue crowd. The boos from the outside crowd cast a rather large shadow over them. With the crowd dying down to silence, the tension would only increase as the proud footsteps of Tanigaki Ero marched right up to the podium with lively eyes. No one would make a move.
"Quite the event we've had so far. " He'd say panning the crowd. "We've seen some great ideas and not so great ideas, if you ask me. For those who are interested, and for those who hate me. Welcome! Tanigaki Ero is my name." He'd smile, as a rumbling of boos and jeers echoed from the mutant protesters... -Such defects- he thought to himself with a grin. "Ooooh~ where to begin, where to begin?" With a half turn, he'd point a little red dot at the projector, whilst holding up a sample of the serum in his free hand. The liquid had a sickening glow to it, the color would shift from a light blue to a dark green and back again. What the hell was it?!??! He'd begin with a bit more seriousness. He knew these people didn't come for him, so he'd lead with the product. "Quirks... seems to be a mistake in my humble opinion, but they are something that has blossomed into "evolution." Can we really call it that though? Far too many of us DON'T have these powers. In a way we regular folk a subjected to the way of today's society. I can say for certain, with a very carefully selected test group, I can say this serum can be used as an additive to the bloodstream. More than that, we've test it is on the quirked. These were fine young gentlemen and women, who had quirks that were detrimental to their own bodies. A curse, these powers are... Anyway, as you can see these specimens are in a much more stable condition with the serum present. As much as I'd like to keep this to my un-quirked brethren, this magical liquid saved them." On the screen were monstrous mutants, that would have their quirks dialed down to that of something more humanoid. Some would totally become humans. So of the regular humans under the study, would develop a temporary quirk factor. Some gained super hearing, others could read books at incredible rates. Some even gained flight, and some gained more drastic powers. It was hard to say if this was a net positive or not. What was Ero getting at? Kyouya eyed the man, then Alain, then the crowd who suspisciously grew very quiet. How were they supposed to take this information?
It's not like he was lying... the proof was right in front of them. The mutants grew louder than usual, some punching and kicking against the fence. "So you just want to get rid of us?!?! Control us!?!? Make us more human? We never stopped being human!" One would shout out. The venue audience would all turn and look toward the protesters. There was a fair amount of concern and a fair amount of truth behind this person's words. "What beasts..." Ero replied in a short and sarcastically afraid manner. "I only wish to apply... normalcy. Uniformity if you will. I bet with enough research, all humans can retain their shape and no longer have to face discrimination." He said this as if he didn't just make such a disgusting comment before replying in jest. The mutants would roar into a "We're already human" chant. Some Security gaurds would walk over in an attempt to calm them down. Ero would cackle at the thought. The Yakuza remained still, only watching. Even the few masked persons in the crowd seemed unmoved. The business group hesitated, some thinking about how to market such a thing to development centers. Ero himself was scum, but this product seemed legit. The folks in lab coat were clamoring among one another. Could they make something to compete?
He'd left a great deal of facts out of his short presentation. He also manipulated a lot of the footage. These fools knew nothing of what they were looking at. He could divulge just a bit more...With both hands up, the scientist would cast a devilish grin. "NOW, shall we open the floor for comments and questions?" Cameras would flash, and Ero was eating the attention up. He was loving this. There was an odd shift in the crowd. Despite the frustration, confusion, bitterness, and wondering faces, the level of interest skyrocketed. A microphone would be procured, and taken by one of the production team to the audience who sat and endured Ero's antics.
Question 1 was from a younger girl. " Hi, Mei from the university's quirk research department. Um... How much of this do you actually have?"
"Thank you, Mei. I've been hard at work with my team. I'd say we have more than enough for this audience, and even some left over for the riff-raff in the back." The mutants jeered. The rattling of the fence would sound off from their frustrated punches and kicks.
Question 2 would actually be from one of the protesters, the production member wanted them to have a voice, too... being a mutant, himself. The mic would come to a crying woman. "Why this?"
"The question why and how are powerful agents in science. Whether from me, or from someone else, something like this was bound to come into existence. In the same way, an anti-quirk serum is in the works. " The mutants jaws dropped, but the folks in lab coats riled up with raised hands. The production member would follow the flow of the crowd.
Question three would come from someone in a mask, and their question was an important one. A question that had nothing to do with science. Their voice seemed to be trembling from under the mask. "Ar...ar-aren't you scared for your life?"
"I only fear people use their personal feelings to judge a product I've created, rather than logic. It exists for advancement... that is all. I hold no real importance besides being it's creator. I could die right now"
It sounded like a challenge. The crowd grew quiet, making the production member a bit confused on where to go next. The business section of the audience? The production member was about to walk to the next person, but the masked person's neighbor grabbed the mic for Question 5. A large brown skin man, who was more concerned about science than a silly question about safety. "It's chemical make up... Could you let us know some of the key components?" Why was this person scared shitless? Who the hell were these masked people in the crowd? Were they all connected? Ero paused, the lab coats would perk up.
"I cannot. This presentation is about marketing. I've got to secure a proper home for it, before disclosing the recipe. " With that, he'd point to the business folks.
(Key moment)As the event went on... where the hell did the security go??? They were plentiful and easy to spot; tall guys in black polo shirts, armed with tasers at the hip but it seemed like they were gradually disappearing the longer this event went on. Something was up and there were too many people to identify who the culprits were. Tyra who was setting plants into the crowd would be able to investigate. One of the security was in a bit of a shoving contest with one of the mutants trying to get closer. The mutants slowly surrounded the guy, but it was easy to miss with the questions and speaker. Another gaurd would radio into the heroes' radio channel. "The mutants are getting a bit aggressive. Two of our guards have gotten jumped, and pulled by some vines. We're gonna start running low on numbers soon, what do you want us to do?"
Kyoya pressed the device in his ear. "Have you reported this to your superior as well?"
"He hasn't answered since that masked person had the mic for a question. " He'd say. Kyoya quickly called the man's number directly. No answer... The director of security was supposed to be inside of the building behind them, manning the cameras with a few of his employees... at least that's what was assumed. Kyoya looked to Tyra. A disturbance in the back from the angry mutants. There was a scarily large question mark about if there were planted people in the audience. And lastly, the eyes of their operation had been compromised right under their noses in the building behind them.
Continuing on, Question 6 would be from a slender man with pink hair. "So what are your major goals for this?"
"Well.... personally I'd like to have finished my Anti-quirk serum first. " With a glance at the mutant protesters, even Tyra before continuing. "For obvious reasons, BUT, this isn't about me. It's about the public and what they want. Plenty of serums already exist, in both quirk enhancing and quirk neutralizing make ups. The issue is they exist on the black market and not on a pharmaceutical level. I only wish to provide options for the public. More importantly to create an Alternative society to what we know and understand. "
A despicable man indeed

This situation was getting out of hand, and Ero was only making things worse. Tyra had already had to intervene with one of the protestors to keep anyone from being injured and the shit stain of a man kept provoking them. Plus there was the growing Yakuza presence, and the decreasing security presence, and the loss of the cameras. It was time to start acting.
Over the headset with the students Tyra would speak up "White Glint, I'd like you to go investigate what's going on with the head of security. Odds are he's been compromised in some fashion, I wouldn't put it past Yakuza to pay him off or blackmail him even if they didn't physically do anything to him, the dispersing security forces is probably related. Blitzkrieg, I'd like you to focus on people not wearing Yakuza masks yet. I have a hunch this blatant display of standing there with masks is meant to draw our attention away from the real threat, that one who spoke didn't sound like a hardened criminal... as for me... I'm going to see if I can stop this idiot from starting a riot before the Yakuza even make a move. Here's hoping this works..."
Tyra would step forward a bit becoming more visible, though still staying closer to the edge so she could keep her connections to the underground plants concealed, and would grab a spare microphone and turn it on.
"Pardon the intrusion, but since the floor is open to comments. Allow me to chime in with another perspective from someone who is both a mutant and a pro hero." Tyra would say, then looked to the crowd of angry mutants "first of all let me say that I fully understand why you are all concerned about this drug. This man developing it is a bigot and is blatantly developing it for all the wrong reasons, however I will point out that once it goes pharmaceutical, the fact that this man is the one who made it will have much less impact on how it is used. He may be using it as an excuse to insult us mutants while he has the spotlight, but after today he'll just be another in the long line of hateful people we already deal with daily. It's not worth committing crimes over, and you can't keep working towards a society that accepts us mutants from inside a jail cell. The real fight will come later, when this is in the hands of regulators, don't waste your anger on this man just because he's provoking you. I know from experience that these fights are long, drawn out affairs. You might remember a few years back all the headlines about me and how long it took for me to get the public to view me as anything but a villain just cause of who I am and the power I was born with. It's a long painful fight, but it is one we can win, the fact I can stand before you now as a hero is proof of that."
Tyra would turn back to Ero and the screen, it was important that the protestors know they were heard, and that Ero's provocations were addressed, so long as they had that, most of them would probably at least remain nonviolent. It was also key to making sure they actually heard the points Tyra would bring up, knowing she shared their outrage at the social stances would lend legitimacy to her logical take on things.
"Now as for the drug itself... I'm going to set aside any personal feelings I have here and analyze this as a pro hero. Some of the incidents I resolve are the result of good people without control over their quirks. One time I had to stop a guy who could sneeze out 300mph winds because he got a bad case of seasonal allergies. Other times I've encountered people who couldn't hold down steady jobs due to destructive quirks they couldn't control, and turned to crime out of desperation... Despite how our opinionated inventor here has presented things, I can confirm that there are indeed cases where people's quirks are a burden to them, either temporarily or permanently." Tyra would explain "having a drug we could prescribe to such individuals who genuinely need, and more importantly WANT it, is not necessarily a bad thing. Those of us here who are proud of who we are quirks and all don't have to take it, but in my line of work I have personally met people who would voluntarily take this drug, not because of whatever 'normalcy' Ero here advocates for, but because it would genuinely improve their quality of life."
Tyra would give that a moment to sink in before continuing "there's also the unfortunate truth that Ero is correct about another thing, drugs similar to this are being developed by people on the black market. Dangerous and unstable things, often produced by people with bad intentions through methods I don't care to elaborate on in a public space." she said "the simple truth is that this drug, or something very similar to it, is going to be out there. But if a version of the drug exists that can be regulated, and produced through legitimate and humane methods, we can have a say in how the drug is used. We can make sure that people who feel they genuinely need it can access a safe and legal version without being exploited by villains and gangs. Much like our quirks, whether this drug is good or bad depends largely on how we choose to use it... getting it in the hands of regulators and OUT of the hands of smaller groups like some I could mention will help prevent it from being used in the wrong ways."
Tyra made a point of looking at Ero as she said that last line, clearly conveying the notion that the way he wanted to use it was a wrong way in her book. And that his group was one of the ones whose hands it would be best to get this drug out of. She wanted to make it clear, especially to the protestors, that she was not on Ero's side here. His views, and his affiliations, were reprehensible. She only wanted to make a case for the drug that was devoid of his provocations so that she could diffuse the tensions and hopefully let this event end without a riot.
"That of course comes with many caveats. I believe that skepticism is certainly warranted here considering the very limited amount of data we're being presented with, and the secrets about it's production. There's no guarantee the data presented here is even fully accurate, it wouldn't be the first time a public drug announcement has used cherry picked data" Tyra said "however based solely on what is presented on screen here, and the claims being made, my opinion as a professional is that this drug could potentially alleviate a great deal of suffering. So long as it's used to that end, and ONLY that end, I think it is at least worth further research under the supervision of a regulatory body."
Tyra would lower her mic, yielding the floor for now and giving Ero a look that simply conveyed "don't fuck this up." If he were smart, he wouldn't look this gift horse in the mouth. Sure she'd disparaged him personally, but if he was smart and kept his mouth shut, and didn't provoke the protestors any more, he could walk away from this with a lot better reception. Having a pro hero espouse the potential benefits of his drug was a good feather in his cap, especially since it came from a mutant pro hero saying such things despite his political rhetoric. All he had to do now was read the room and not ruin it...
Tyra would also look at the data on the screen with some degree of suspicion. She wasn't a proper scientist, but she'd spent most of her childhood raised in a research lab studying mutant physiology... particularly hers... and she edited genetic code on the daily with her quirk. She was intimately familiar with a lot more science than most, and she was not sure she trusted what she was looking at. But at just this quick overview she couldn't tell if her suspicions were based on anything... or if her dislike of Ero was just making her paranoid. She made a mental note to dig into this later, right now she had more immediate things to worry about.

The fact that Alain managed to maintain his stoic visage in the face of Ero's diatribe was nothing short of a miracle. This serum he proposed... it could indeed be a boon for quirkless people. But even as a student Alain had faced some of the horrors that villains cooked up, and the knowledge that a substance like this could exist was a daunting prospect. In the wrong hands this serum would be disastrous, it had the potential to trigger an undeniably deadly arms race between hero agencies and villain factions, the likes of which even Ero couldn't anticipate.
The growing crowds took Alain's mind off of Ero's speech, and not in a good way. Black hoods and eerie masks, popping up within the crowds with a haunting consistency... they'd been warned ahead of time of a potential Yakuza incursion, they had made the most bold faced threats towards Ero after all. It made sense that these garbed folk allied themselves with the criminal faction. Cautious murmurs of the security chief drifted through his earpiece, adding another layer of stress to the situation; only cut short when Tyra's voice cut through the haze, a beacon of order and direction amidst the growing chaos.
At the behest of her orders Alain moved towards the edge of the stage; catching Ryoken's gaze and nodding towards the building behind them as he dropped to the ground, and began making his way along the barricades towards the crowd. At his height Alain stood a solid head over much of the crowd, his burly body a visual wall of intimidation against potential aggressors. Being so far from Ero meant that he couldn't react as quickly, especially with no kinetic charge saved up. But in this position he could react faster to anyone moving in the crowds, a trade off Alain was willing to tolerate for the mission.

Contrary to Kyoya's expectations, Ryoken was already in position just by simply standing where they were. In the back, with a view of the venue just outside the building, the whole area was within his effective range. Truth be told, he really was not paying much attention to whatever Tanigaki Ero was rambling on about. That was not necessarily something he wanted to concern himself with, as it was not really something that would be within his realm of jurisdiction or accessibility. The serum sounded quite vile, born from the insecurities of a dangerous mind, but while their goal today was bodyguard duty, it just as easily could turn into taking him out the next day. With this much dissent, Ryoken idly wondered just how likely that might actually be.
What was more important at the moment was the assembly of disguised individuals, no doubt to protect not only their identity but also to make potential threats harder to distinguish. The quiet discussion among the security group held mixed feelings. Their measured and deliberate professionalism still betrayed the underlying obvious concern about the imminent incident that all of this was in preparation for... no, that wasn't quite accurate. The enemy's plans had already been set into motion. Ryoken gave a nod to Tyra at her issued directive. While his strength was in area control, Tyra also shared this strong suit and would certainly be able to handle things here. Ryoken's ability not only could be more discrete, but also quite deadly indoors where evasion was more difficult. Without a word, he would silently fall back to the interior of the hospital building, slipping indoors.
Primary risks inside would obviously be ambushes, which Ryoken figured was also how these deviants got the drop on the security chief. Doors, hallway intersections, and the like would be the most dangerous places to breeze through, so instead he made for the closest stairwell, which was just at the side of the lobby. The air near his hands would start gently sparkling as he generated a small amount of diamond to use as dust, ascending the stairs without a sound having muffled his footsteps through dust underfoot. With a glance out the window of the stairwell's 2F exit, Ryoken entered the hallway here, carefully but steadily making his way to the security room after clearing each corner along the path.

Ero paused, resting a firm hand on his head when Tyra grabbed a microphone. The mutants in the back seemed to be fuming, their attention now pointed at the girl. Many would quiet down, while others felt more frustrated as if it were a cosign to the asshole. "I don't quite remember giving that talking weed the floor to speak. But since everyone is in a bit of tizzy, perhaps a recess is in order." The scientist sighed. With the newfound silence, things seemed equally as tense. The masked individuals in the back would begin to walk toward the gate, when the mutants collective rage waned. "Go home!" "You're ruining our way of life." "You and your group are a stain on Japan." They're complaints actually weren't too far off from the Mutant protesters. They didn't like the divisive nature of the scientist and the anti-quirk group he aligned with. He was to start with mutants, and like move on to transformers and emitters. This made him an impending threat if allowed to thrive. Their frustrations caused some of the mutants to get riled up again. The security guards looked to Tyra. The mutants... they'd listen to her and her immediate presence would help calm the masked people down.
The masked folk in the crowd would nod in agreeance. Something was up with them... As for those who grew sick of this whole debacle had been packing up their briefcases and readied themselves to leave. Now that there was some foot traffic, this only made figuring out the possible threats even harder. If they were in this crowd, now was a prime time to strike. It was as if Ero was setting the stage for something to happen. Welcoming it even... Kyoya turned to him "I believe you should step down from the stage. I can't quite say this is the safest period. You can return when the recess is over." A natural train of thought met, with Tanigaki refusing. "I've worked so hrd to get on this stage. I shall be here from start to finish. According to that silly academy, and your protection agency, I'm in good hands. Though I've set my own preparations as well." What the hell was that supposed to mean?!!? Kyoya, tapped his earpiece and chatted with the agency. Perhaps some changes could be made mid-mission. This guy had a death wish. The agent would signal to Tyra with his hand, to let her know Ero wasn't going to budge and to stay on high alert. In a whipser to Tyra, Ryoken and Alain, "I think Ero might have some Alternative goons creeping around. They're an anti-quirk terror group. I can't say I'm surprised. We know he doesn't trust quirked people."
-Ryoken would be the first to find out, as the main office for security was decorated with tall bulky men toting specialty guns and equipment. One man's gun was a needle launcher, and attached to the magazine was the very same color changing liquid Ero was boasting about this whole time. A curious weapon. They seemed relaxed despite being security going down. Well of course they were. They were the reason... What did they have planned?
-Back to the venue, one of the mutant protesters would hope the fence, and make a mad dash for the stage. There was always one... Scarily enough a glint could be seen from one of the rooftops. A red dot wouldn't appear on Ero, but on the mutant. "Ah, how unruly." Tanigaki Ero's voice boomed as he swiftly mic back on. "Pffft... Mutants." This being a verbal cue for the sniper to shoot.
-In the crowd of businessmen and scientists, a disguised Kirie would give her disguised partner in crime a nudge with her elbow. "Welp, the plan kind of worked itself out in our favor. Especially since we've our secret weapon in the fray. All we gotta do is divide and conquer until the deed is done. Sad such a great mind sits in such a disgusting guy... Let's regroup to the boss when this is all over." It wasn't just Gauss and Kirie, there were a few other yakuza members in sprinkled through out and in disguise.

Chaos. Confusion. Gauss was in his element, disguised as he was as a wealthy investor, complete with a very expensive suit that covered most of his metal right arm and all of his fresh Yakuza tattoos. He watched as Ero lost control of the crowd, kept a keen eye on the young pro-hero and her student companions. Their focus was on the crowd of mutants and civilians, of course. Why would they be looking towards the invited and honoured guests? "Yeah, it's our moment, alright! I'll take left, you take right. Let's cause chaos!"Gauss moved through the businessmen, eyes on the stage. The crowd was growing far too restless, and security seemed to be on edge. He scratched his chin, grinning. The muscular kid was at the edge of the stage now, keeping his attention on the rabble at the back. Gauss' grin shone with daylight, a single silver tooth glinting. Then it was gone. Positioned as he was, he could fire the tooth using his Quirk, having it fly behind the young hero in training. Gauss was no slouch. His aim was true, and his aim was dead-centre at Ero's ear, where the tooth would enter one side and leave the other, propelled by his magnetic force, shot out of his mouth with such speed that the small object could barely be followed with the naked eye. Quirk: Magnetization! He can make anything he touches magnetically charged!
Current magnetized objects: Gauss Metal tooth ?? ??

Buried beneath his stoic, intimidating visage, the tumultuous agitation of the crowds was lending more and more weight to the stress Alain shouldered. Even though a recess had been called there was no lax in tension for the heroes present. In fact, it almost made things worse... the scattering crowds making it more difficult to keep tabs on the threats they'd already confirmed. A flash of movement to Alain's left immediately grabbed his attention, a body across the picket line. As the furious young mutant charged towards the stage Alain immediately turned on a dime and bolted in pursuit, refusing to let the protester take more than a couple of steps further.
The ominous sight of a bright red dot flickering on the mutant's back sent a hollow twist to the pit of his gut. He'd seen more than enough action movies to instantly recognize a sniper's laser sight. The mere thought of live firearms being unleashed into a crowd of civilians was unthinkable... though without a confirmed identity or motive he couldn't point fingers... yet. He could, however, lunge at the man and place his body in the path of the bullet. It'd been well over a year since the last time he was shot in the line of duty. Unlike Team Confidence's assault on UA however... he was blocking a rifle round instead of a pistol round, the extra penetrative force would be mitigated by his protective bodysuit and his quirk... but not without significant self injury in the process.
An echo of a gunshot split the air around them, and an explosion of force slammed violently into Alain's back, sending him hurtling into the mutant he was tackling, pulling them both into a row of folding chairs. A shrill alarm fired off in his ear at the sudden, convulsive wave of kinetic energy his body soaked up. Enough to stop the bullet from entering his body... but not to prevent the fractured rib that now seared angrily inside his chest. "Ngh.... FUCK!" Pinning down and shielding his captive with his bulky body, Alain tried to take stock of the growing carnage from his low profile, while simultaneously growling in the mutant's ear. "Look mate, I just saved your bloody life. This whole situation's fucked. I've got to secure the area, no idea if that gunman has friends here or not. If you wanna live, stay low, find your friends and get the fuck out of here. Okay?"
As he pushed himself to his feet, clutching the side with his broken rib, Alain turned to face the open air beyond the conference... in roughly the direction the shot had come from. He hoped to spot a glint, or movement of some kind in the buildings beyond that would betray the sniper's position to him; all while tapping into his earpiece to warn the others. "Situation's escalated, we've got a confirmed active shooter targeting the conference and the civilian crowd. Civvies need evacuated, and the police need to be notified immediately to secure the hospital. Kyoya..." Alain's gaze shifted towards the stage, to their mercenary ally, and the growing situation between them. "I hope that wasn't your boy who almost put a bullet in me just now."
