Physical Info
Visual Picture:
Physical description: Salamander is a fairly tall young man of a lean muscular stature and pale complexion who is almost always seen wearing a serious and determined expression. He has unruly black hair that he struggles to keep in check and often hides the fact using his Marine cap. His eyes are sharp and moderately large and stand out due to the almost completely black irises framed by incredibly bushy eyebrows, a trait he shares with his father and grandfather.
Clothes: Salamander usually wears a standard Marine cap, the standard issued Marine uniform with gold details, and a high collar. As is fashionable, he also wears his officer coat casually draped over his shoulders, leaving the sleeves hanging loose without using them. The jacket bears the kanji for "justice" (正義, Seigi?) on the back.
When he dresses casually, Salamander likes to dress in shades of yellow, orange and red, usually combined with either black or white, depending on his general mood.
In our out-of-uniform, he always wears the specially designed boots his grandfather managed to give him, using connections from inside Impel Down. He is never seen without them; they have served him well these past years regarding comfort and usability.

Personal Info
Personality: Salamander is abrasive, hot-blooded, rash, stubborn, often impulsive and quick to lash out. He is also a fiercely loyal and protective Marine, taking great pride in his place and the things he can do to keep the regular citizens of the seas safe. Salamander is willing to fight for his superiors, friends and family, regardless of how futile it might seem or if ever given a chance to prove himself. He is straightforward and often tackles issues with a "hands-on" approach. His solution to problems often involves violence (His weapon fruit makes the distance to this even shorter).
He takes his position in the Marines very seriously; since he finally earned his officer commission just a few weeks ago, he has worked even harder to prove himself worthy of the rank. Despite his seemingly simple personality, Salamander can be very perceptive and crafty when the need arises, such as applying for a transfer and promotion without his Aunt Mahonia finding out or being able to block it by going over her head. (Much to her annoyance, he managed to do it even if she was a little proud.)
Salamander continuously tries to prove his strength to others. At various points in time, he has challenged different high-ranking officers and, despite losing several times, has not held a grudge against any of them, instead seeing these defeats as a learning experience. Befitting his recklessness and love of fighting, Salamander rarely backs out of a fight if challenged.
He also has a great deal of love for animals and often feels more comfortable in the company of beasts than with people because they have few expectations.
Morals: Marigold E. Salamander's whole reason for joining the Marine has been to protect the innocent and be able to make a notable difference in the world at large. He believes in Humane Justice, caring for innocents and opposing corruption whenever it is possible for him to do so. Salamander cares greatly about doing the right thing and detests evil. As such, the law becomes second place compared to doing "the right thing". His youth is the main opponent because he has not found the balance between these two forces.
His primary goal is to protect people, and it is more important to consider the number of lives to protect rather than the number of enemies to destroy.

Devil Fruit Info (Only edit if you have eaten a devil fruit.)
Devil Fruit Name: Buki Buki no Mi (Arms Arms Fruit)
Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia
Abilities: The Buki Buki no Mi allows Salamander to change his body into any kind of weapon. He can transform small parts of his body, like the fingers, hands or arms, or a larger body section, such as his entire torso or whole body, into a weapon.
While transformed into a weapon, Salamander does not take any damage inflicted due to the weapon's impact, such as detonating while in an explosive state. If his body is broken apart due to the weapon's intended effects, the pieces can easily reform into the user's full body, undamaged, akin to a Logia. However, this Logia-like regeneration does not apply to his human form, even if he is partially transformed.

Skills:
Armory Body, Iron Temple: Salamander has incredible physical strength, speed, endurance and durability compared even to many more experienced marines or pirates. He can take massive amounts of physical punishment but remain conscious and able to fight. Having spent a lot of time training, fighting and being beaten up repeatedly has given the young Marine remarkable durability and stamina. This also extends to being resilient against such things as poison and sickness. The youngest Marigold possesses great physique stemming from this durability combined with willpower. He is stubborn, stupid and strong!
Weapons Specialist: Salamander knows his way around most kinds of weaponry and can quickly grasp how they function, even when handling one for the first time. He can usually handle himself in a conflict, melee or ranged. He is also an excellent marksman and can deal devastating damage in long-range combat, even without using his devil fruit.
Calligraphy and Ink Painting: Surprisingly, Salamander has a good hand with calligraphy. He has been shown to make wonderful creations and even works of art in ink and paint, usually done for him as a kind of meditation.
Ambidexterious: Salamander is deadly because he has no dominant hand and can easily switch between left and right as needed. He does have a habit of tricking enemies into thinking he only uses ranged attacks using his left hand and melee using his right. But that is generally trickery and will work only if the opponent doesn't know the fact.
Nature's Wonders: He knows his way around a garden and how to care for different plants and flowers. He is also good at knowing what can and cannot be eaten in nature or used regarding medication and other benefits. He does not talk about it, so those around him are surprised when he knows these things.

- Salamander has very bushy eyebrows, in the Marine fondly referred to as "The Marigold Eyebrows"
- Irises so dark, they could be black.
Personal Items:
- Collection of Letters: From different people in his life, some his father left him, a few sent to him from his grandfather, and a few rare ones from his Auntie.
- Diary: Salamander likes to make notes daily, writing down his thoughts and reflections inside a small book kept on his person at all times. It is locked by a small compass-shaped charm attached to a bracelet.
- Charm Bracelet: A bracelet with charms in different shapes, materials and sizes. The golden compass among them also functions as the key to his diary.
- Exotic Animals Bingo Book: A book containing different animals he marks off as he encounters them on his journeys.

His primary goal is to protect people, and it is more important to consider the number of lives to protect rather than the number of enemies to destroy.
Passion:
- Fighting: Taking part in combat is one of Salamander's greatest passions; he often seeks to test himself against strong opponents, both enemies and allies. With allies, he does not seek to kill or usurp anyone. He only has a drive to prove himself.
- Weapons: As a weapons specialist and sniper, Salamander has a great interest in every convenient kind of weaponry in the world. Be the range, melee, explosive or subtle. He is among the first to gawk at a new sword or show interest in a new gun.
- Family: Salamander has a great deal of loyalty to his family and his grandfather Marigold E. Wombat, who also first inspired him to join the Marine. He has survivor's guilt over his father's death Marigold E. Mogrick.
- Food: As a growing boy, he loves a nice meal... he is not picky about the quality, and luxurious food will often be wasted on him... as he cannot tell the difference.
- Gardening: Salamander has surprisingly green fingers, and he finds great enjoyment in taking care of flowers and plants. In stark contrast with his otherwise combat-oriented personality.
- Exotic Animal Bingo: He Has, since he was a child, been part of the global Exotic Animal Bingo and strives to see as many exotic animals as possible, therefore being able to fill out his Bingo Book.
Loathe:
- Pirates: He greatly dislikes the evil caused by many pirates.
- Grandfather: Salamander has very complicated feelings about his grandfather. He feels personality betrayed by Wombat's actions, and even if he wants to admire the Marine the old man used to be, he cannot easily forgive the actions he took that ended with his father's death and the grandfather's imprisonment inside Impel Down.
- Corruption: He loath the notion that members of the Marines would misuse their positions to harm innocent people or manipulate the institution for personal gain.
Flaws:
- Courage & Resolve: Once someone questions Salamander's courage, he never back down, no matter how dangerous the situation is. This has sometimes placed him in a situation where he has taken too much over his head. Resolve in moderation can be a good thing. In excess, it can prove deadly.
- Might be Useful: Salamander can’t help but pocket loose coins and other trinkets he comes across
- Blunt: Marigold can be tactless and see no reason to "sugarcoat" his opinions. Even when talking to an officer of higher rank, he believes in honesty, sometimes to the extent of propriety.
Personal Goal/Dream:
- Prove himself: Salamander's current goal is to prove himself to his superiors, to the Marines, to his family and the world as a whole. He feels that he has not been given the option to do so before now, partly because of his Aunt's assistance in keeping him "out of trouble" by blocking his previous promotion attempts.
- Find the Truth: Grandfather Wombat betrayed the Marine and the World Government. Salamander can't understand why the man he admires more than anyone else would do such a thing, and he secretly has a goal to find out... why he did it. Why did such a dedicated Marine abandon everything like that?!
Defining Moment:
- Salamander's mother, Buchanan A. Belle, died from a prolonged period of sickness when the son was 8. Salamander has her bracelet with her collection of charms attached to it (together with his later additions). Her death has always haunted Salamander.
- Despite his father's reluctance, Salamander was accepted into the Marine and also started to be trained in earnest by his grandfather, Vice-Admiral Marigold E. Wombat. It was the point that started Salamander's desire to prove himself to his grandfather most of all.
- The North Blue Treason: The moment that came to define so much of Salamander's life and career was when his Grandfather betrayed the World Government out of nowhere, attacking an outpost holding several dangerous pirates awaiting transport to Impel Down. Salamander, as a young soldier, was caught in the chaos which took place. He would have died if not for the intervention of his father, who ended up mortally wounded when he pushed the son away from an explosion. This is also the last time he has seen his grandfather, only ever hearing from him in sporadic letters. Salamander began to train even harder than before as a way to deal, and his desire to prove himself shifted to the Marine.
- One day, I will kick his ass!: Challenged Captain Thorleif Griggs to a duel, and despite fighting bravely he got ended up losing. But, he did earn the Captains liking, much to the dislike of Aunt Mahonia who did not view Griggs as... suitable influence on her young Nephew. She has made sure to block any further interactions, to the annoyance of both Salamander and Griggs. (Salamander did promise he would be back to kick his ass one day!)
- Got his hands on the devil fruit Buki Buki no Mi during a raid on a Pirate Hideout and were forced to eat it when he could not get it out, becoming a Full-Body Weapon Human. He has spent much time trying to grasp his new existence, making life convenient and confusing in equal measures.
- Promotion & Transfer: Growing increasingly annoyed at his Aunts insistence in keeping him "safe", Salamander managed to go over her head to request a transfer out of North Blue. This was approved, and he was shipped to East Blue to become an aide to one of his grandfather's old acquaintances, a captain named Kramp. His new life is about to begin, and maybe he will be able to get some answers.
Family Tree:

- Marigold E. Marmoset (Father, dead)
- Marigold E. Mahonia (Aunt)

However, this Logia-like regeneration does not apply to his human form, even if he is partially transformed.
Weakness:
- Hated by the Ocean: Like all Devil Fruit users, Salamander is weak against the ocean and will become helpless if submerged in water. He is also weak against seastone.
- Knowledge is Power: As versatile as his fruit is, Salamander is also limited in the weapons he can transform into based on weapons he happens to be familiar with. He needs a clear view and understanding of how the weapon function to embody them fully, and there are always new weapons he can learn about.
- Devil in the Details: It takes a few seconds for Salamander to alter himself fully. Something small, like turning his arm into a shotgun, is almost instant, but turning his whole body into a weapon still takes a few seconds. He can rush the transformation, but doing so leaves him open to mistakes and unintended malfunctions.
- Death by Stupidity: Even if he is not harmed due to a weapon's intended effect, he can still be harmed by his weapons, such as a bullet he fire, if deflected back at him will still cause him harm
Special Moves:
- Up in Smokes: Salamander transforms his arm (or leg) into a nozzle dispersing a massive cloud of smog and smoke.
- Propelling Punchline: By turning parts of his body into high-calibre weaponry (hand cannon or shotgun), Salamander can propel himself around a battlefield at much higher speed, even being able to change direction in mid-air.
- Gatling Glory: Salamander transforms himself into a Gatling gun and fires it rapidly.
- Bomber Boy: Salamander transforms himself into a living bomb, detonating himself, and it causes a huge explosion. He will reform unharmed right after the explosion has transpired.
- Axe Assault:When used, Salamander turns into a large battleaxe, while his legs serve as the handle. It is his most destructive melee attack and is usually used when he wants to go all in on the Assault.
- Flail Fallout: Salamander's arms turn into chains that he can use either as part of an attack by creating spiked balls on each end or as a means to traverse the battlefield by swinging himself using the chains, or save himself from a dangerous situation.

Marigold E. Salamander's combat style is very aggressive, and views offence as the best defence. He uses a combination of ranged and melee weaponry as suits the situation. Adopting a blade & gun style, which function independently from exactly what kind of guns and swords he uses.
Techniques:
- Tekkai (Iron Body): Technique he learned from Captain Griggs during their first battle. Allowing him to harden his body to an incredible degree, nullifying damage he might have taken from attacks. Salamanders can also enhance their attacks with increased density. His skill with Tekkai is not as good as many others, but he is getting there.
- Blade & Gun Style-Quickdraw: Salamander can pull out his weapons very quickly, a faster way to do battle than to only use his arms fruit. His reflexes to arm himself are near instant. He can be equally fast when switching between weapons or at times when he changes hands.
- Blade & Gun Style-Ricochet: In a pinch, and using his knowledge of weaponry, Salamander has developed a sword & gun technique where he can ricochet shots and attacks from other objects, such as causing a shot to round a corner by ricocheting off a nearby lantern. In emergencies, he has also been known to throw materials into the air and use these to ricochet the attack off of.
