A lot was happening at once. Everyone scrambling to make sense of the aftermath. As Ray was lifting Hughes out, Astra came to. The girl was shaken. Her following question caused Susan's eyebrow to rise. There were many things happening at that moment she could've been referring to. Too many things.
"It's all a bit fuzzy still. I saw... a lot and then nothing."
Astra's expression didn't tell her much, but there was something there that told Susan her words weren't conveying the right images. Something else happened. Sue's mental diary was now filled to the brim. So much so that she couldn't even gauge what Astra could've seen. A combination of stress and adrenaline, no doubt.
"What did you see?"
Her question left lingering for the moment, Susan turned to Ray who was just about to take off. His nod was met with one of her own. Another person she owed. They would've likely been all dead by now if he hadn't showed up.
As he took his leave, Susan gradually made her way out of the vehicle again, grabbing Astra's hand and gently pulling her with, hoping she would agree with this gentle command. The rest of the team was still on the shore, slowly waking, taking in their surroundings. They had to leave as soon as possible. Herman's condition was partly her fault. She wasn't going to let him die on her watch.

"I saw..."Astra allowed herself to be lead by Susan, or at least gave no form of resistance. She felt in shock, her mind reeling at an event that had never happened to her in any kind of form. Even in the darkest reaches of the cosmos that she had travelled to, Astra has never felt such fear than she had for those few seconds. "A... man. Or at least, the form of a man. He was... unstable, like he was made up of electricity, streaks of lightning... and he spoke, putting words straight into my mind."Astra closed her eyes as she followed Sue, grounding herself with the physical contact of her teacher. "Next time."She looked up at the Professor, a worried frown across her face, eyes alive with questions, and the fear of the answers they might bring. "Sue... That device... I think it might have... it might have woken something."

Susan's assessment of her colleagues was of a visual manner this time. They were all gradually getting up, talking to one another about what had happened. With Astra in hand, she approached them and gave them swift orders to teleport back to HQ. They needed to get looked over and then debrief. Her words sounded both authoritative and caring, which the rest of the team took in stride. They knew better than to ignore Sue's mandatory suggestions. The group was enveloped one by one via their teleporters. A glowing square opening up above them, shooting downwards and disappearing to their required destination. After a series of zapping sounds, the beach was quiet once again, leaving only Susan and Astra to take in the silence. And for Susan to take in Astra's account of her personal event. "As if things couldn't get more complicated. I cannot imagine how afraid you must've been."Her words were laced with deep concern on... basically every conceivable account. What exactly was it that she saw? Sue realized that there wouldn't be immediate answers, as much as the situation begged for them. No matter, they had to leave and take stock of their situation. It was no use to anyone if they stood there, mulling over everything. "And I'm afraid we'll soon find out what it is."A direct response to Astra's last sentence of worry. With those words hanging in the air, Susan pulled Astra in for a comforting embrace, before her own teleporter chimed to life and whisked them away from this innocuous beach that now carried many unpleasant memories. [END - continued in Disentanglement]
