Personal Items: A farewell note from their mentor of 20 years before Vana set out onto the sea. The mentor signed it with symbols Vana never learned to read, and no information on where they went, just that they did. They don't know their name, or where they are, but Vana figures as long as they hold on to it, they will meet again... Then they can fight again, and the both of them can grow even stronger.
Personal Info
Personality: While they are human enough to experience the emotional extremes same as anyone else, their ability to express them are stunted. Boiling anger will look like an annoyed pout, pure innocent joy only visible as a sarcastic smirk. Despite their older age, possibly thanks to their seemingly stunted form, they are deep down still rather childish in mind and scope of purpose. They will think nothing of taking on the world and become stronger than everything ever was, but then think the height of wild evil is eating an extra snack at midnight. They are also very unaware of how much their emotional state just seems to radiate out from them. Even as their expressions are small, those around them can sense before they enter a room if they are over the moon, or crushingly depressed. But just as their mood and extremes can be like a child, so is their seriousness. They hold by their beliefs, when they set their mind to something, they do not care if they are praised or hated for the act in the end. It is what they chose to do, and they will complete it. They will, however, not cheat in a fight, but they WILL argue about some tactics if they count as cheating or not.

Morals: Conflict breeds strength, peace breeds weakness. The peaceful will be exploited by those living in, or creating conflict. To fight for 'peace' is a contradiction, destined to create a weakened will. There is nothing wrong with seeking peace, or seeking strength, and everyone should have the freedom to seek either path. But to pick one side of the coin is the sacrifice the other from your life.
Passion:
Fighting
Becoming Stronger
Conflict
Causing conflict with strong people as the ensuing fight will make both of them stronger
The smell of metal being worked on
Sour sweets
Loathe:
Spicy food
Slavery
Those who see themselves as 'strong enough'
Those who see themselves as 'strong' only because they fight the weak
Any and all laws against citizens arming themselves
Those who sale weapons but think the conflict they are arming 'isn't their concern'
Light pollution
Flaw:
Forgets their self care (due both to the days they spent floating half dead, as well as the 'ultimate weapon' mindset, they will often forget to maintain basic necessities if left to their own devices. Because of this they will lose track of how many days they go without cleaning themselves or eating)
No Poker face (despite being mostly deadpan, as well as expressed outward emotions being small and stunted, they have zero ability to hide how they feel. They are still able to lie, but only when they feel no conflicting emotions about the subject.)
Too willing to antagonize anyone strong looking (they will steal food from their plate, even if they regret it later, they will knock over prized belongings, they will even childishly bully others their target cares about. They will not actively threaten another person or group's lives with their bullying or threats, as there is no strength gained from conflict with the weak.)
Personal Goal/Dream: Strength. They seek to be strong. Stronger than any one or any thing the world can face them with. To exceed human limits of what strength is. And to do so through their own growth. Not to become something inhuman through devil fruits. Not to reach the 'trick' limit of the six powers, meant to work within those human limits. And they will not label their strength as for 'justice' or 'freedom' or 'order'. They would become a weapon, and weapons themselves do not have morals. A weapon does not seek justice, or seek to rule. They will become, the Strongest Weapon, and what good or evil they do along that path exists only in the eyes of those who witness it... Also actual abolishing all slavery but that's apart from the strength part.
Defining Moment:
20 years ago, their home, a small village on a West Blue island known for making and selling weapons, not renown but known, was wiped out in a night. A criminal group who the village had sold weapons to, attacked, slaughtering the citizens, smiths, and their few people able to fight, to the last. Their parents, their friends, people they hated, the people they've known since they were a child, people they never got to know, dead. Their home, the smithy, the grocer, even the graves they kept, all destroyed and removed. And in it's place, a new casino and high end city was put in it's place. Yet, somehow, they survived. They had been stunted since, as if their life stopped then, but they survived.
Maybe their muted nature gave the sense of them being dead when just knocked out. Maybe their stature got them lost among the corpses. Maybe, they figured with everything else gone, anyone left would die on their own anyways, the piles of body pushed off into the ocean with what debris that couldn't be burnt. It was days later, alone with their thoughts, when they were picked out of the ocean by a wandering swordsman, and asked (seeking someone to pass their knowledge to), if they had will enough to live. they answered "no... I've the will, to be strong."

Combat Style:
Vana has three stages of 'respect' for opponents. Most will end up facing them using a wooden mock sword, though swung with enough force and skill to imitate metal against weapon opponents. Again those that can better match them, or against those with some force over wood, Vana will 'respect' the opponent enough to use an actual metal sword. Both of these steps, Vana feels, are crutches. While many would teach that a sword is an extension of the self, Vana's teaching and ideals invert this, seeing themselves as a sword, and the weapons in their hand as a medium to express it. So if beaten both the wood and metal sword, they will show actual respect, and show them their true sword style, their body now emulating their sword techniques and stances. While they understand that one cannot become stronger if one dies, they have a hard time recognizing this enough to know when to run by the time they need to. Once they know they should run, they are often so beaten up they would need their crew to drag bail them out. This same stubbornness would make Vana's solution to long range attackers with just closing the distance as fast as possible, even if it results in taking several hits
Mentally, they always aim to fight who they think they will have the hardest conflict with. Most of the times this will come down to who they see as the strongest enemy, but sometimes it instead is whoever has a style that can counter theirs. They want their fights to put them on the back foot, to not just walk through an opponent, because through challenge, through conflict, they can become stronger. They will sometimes throw verbal barbs against foes they think are holding back, or act like they don't need to use their full strength against them, and range from basic generic trash talk, to even trying to dig up details before the fight just to know what may strike a nerve. This also includes knowing what to avoid saying or doing anything that would shake the opponent's resolve, or weaken their stance mid battle. If they know an enemy, for instance, is weaker to their metal sword they will refuse to use it. If they enemy can ONLY be harmed with their metal sword, they will use it, but only because flat out losing is not the same has a hard conflict for them.
Techniques:
Invading Cardinal Beast Style - The backbone of the style, four stances, each with their own offensive and defensive mentality and techniques, meant to emulate these mythological creatures at their 'strongest', when they are at battle with their opposite.
- Genbu at the South Gate: Holding the sword low, attacks focused on thrusts and short chops, defense being to push the coming attack aside with the blade, with it's main strength focused around holding one's ground, and sudden upwards aimed attacks to strike either very call enemies or mid-air targets.
- Suzaku at the North Gate: Holding the sword at head level, attacks focused on stabbing forward and downward, defense relying mostly on the wielder being in constant movement, positioning the wielder better angle at smaller enemies or those whose stance is lower to the ground
- Byakko at the East Gate: A more free form style, allowing for one or two handing the sword, or even wielding multiple at once. It's attack focus are wide, fluid slashes and cuts, allowing for catching enemies that might evade part of the attack, with it's defense being a mix of intentional clashing with some user mobility
- Seiryu at the West Gate: A very tight, closed body form. It's balance of offense and defend being attacks meant to disable or deny their opponents attacks or movement options. Strikes to body joints, stabbing at feet, throwing an opponent's attack off center.
Genbu at the South Gate: Snake tail- Anti-air, Back foot takes a crescent step back, lining up with the fore foot, weapon following the back foot. Followed with a fast up and forward stab at the enemy. Mostly used as a counter.
Suzaku at the North Gate: Crumble- A strong downward stab, just before the opponent's feet or defensive stance, aiming to make the floor under them crumble, throwing their balance off and making any defensive stance less effective. Can be followed by flipping the floor up under the opponent, if the floor does not crumble enough to unbalance them
Byakko at the East Gate: Empty Step- Spinning the blade in their hand, landing it, blunt end, on their shoulders, before springing up and rotating the opposite direction than the momentum built by the blade. Minor amount of offensive ability, as it will be dangerous for anyone standing directly next to the user, this is more meant as a defensive maneuver to free up space around them or break from outside influences, like shifting land or powerful winds
Seiryuu at the West Gate: Locked Horns- An anti-quick-draw technique, meant to strike the opponent's sword hilt to hilt at the start of the draw. Also works find if hitting hilt against cross guard, and can also be used to counter techniques requiring full arm swings.
