He glanced at Moll when she mentioned using magic to light or create fire. Brant had not even thought about using magic to light the fire; he had always done it this way. "Yeah, I think I'll keep to the traditional way for now," he commented, returning his attention to the fireplace. "I feel magic should be used for more... important things."
Brant left Moll to explore, but she found herself accompanied by Gabs shortly after walking into the pathway leading to the other rooms. The cat had left the comfort of the plush armchair by the fire. Her bright eyes watched the witch, but her tail was raised with a slight bend at the end, so she was curious and not hostile. If talked to, she was clearly more intelligent than your average house cat.
Suddenly, Gabs stiffed; her ears moved as she peered off to the side, sniffing the air. She remained motionless like this for a few seconds before letting out a chirp and walking over to rub herself against Moll's legs. Afterwards, she trotted off ahead of Moll in the corridor, stopping at one of the walls before turning to look at the servant, letting out another chipping meow.

Moll was a little intrigued by how the house was built and maintained, at least a little kept up. She softly rubbed the walls as she slowly walked down the path through the building, getting a better feel for the atmosphere before noticing Gabs was following her out of curiosity. She'd turn to look at her before smiling as she continued her search. That was then she later felt the cat rub against her leg before witnessing her stroll down the corridor and stopping at a wall by the end.
Hearing her speech, she figured she had found something. Animals with more sensitive aspects like her can find a lot of things compared to humans. The servant would make her way to the wall where the cat was. "You found something strange, huh?" She looked somewhat around the area before coming to the theory that something was up with the wall itself. Getting close, she softly rubbed her hand up against the wall before softly knocking on different parts surrounding it, then the area she was inspecting.
Hollow. Of course it was.
She looked back at the cat and knelt down to her. "Well done, Gabs. It seems there are still some secrets we've yet to find about this place..."

Gabs walked a circle around herself, accompanied by another chirping meow, before bumping her head against Moll.
She stopped, and her body stiffened slightly, eyes focusing on a spot at the wall and her ears were following something on the other side. The feline remained this way for a few seconds before vanishing through a small opening between two boards in the wall; like a shadow, she moved soundlessly. The opening was just big enough for a cat to get through, and moments later, Moll could hear the frightened squeak of whatever victim Gabs had just captured.
Brant had managed to light the fire, using the poker to move the logs around so that the fire was more even. It was well-needed because it seemed like the rain was only growing more intense outside, and a loud bang quickly accompanied a flash of light night... so the thunder was not far either. Standing up, he stretched before preparing the sleeping arrangements, including fluffing up Gab's favourite pillow.
Brant did not know if Moll needed to sleep, but giving her the option seemed polite.
"Are you two having fun?!" Brant called out, looking towards the doorway where Moll and Gabs had gone. It was mainly Gabs who vanished off into other parts of the building, hunting the local rodent population whenever she was bored or the rare times she was angry or annoyed at him. "Don't eat too many vermin, Gabs! I'm not having your rat breath next to my face tonight."

Moll took her time watching the movements of the cat, watching her move into the wall on the hunt for the small animal that was in the walls. Brant came in shortly after hearing the sound and she stood up to face him, smiling at him. Looks like he had the fire taken care of nicely. She chuckled at his remark towards his cat. "Gabs wanted to show me something as I was exploring. Probably wanted to show me one of her hunting spots." She did want to know what they can do to make sure they had places to sleep. "I'm guessing finding me a place to sleep is going to be an issue, or no?" The day seemed to move on fast for a time, but they still had time to get things set up for later.

"She did?" Brant asked with a raised eyebrow, eyes going to where the cat had vanished. "Dosen't sound like her; she'd never been one to share, and I've had her for ages." He walked closer and crouched down to see where Gabs had vanished. "Odd, I don't think this goes inside the wall," he tried to peer into the darkness... "I think there's a room on the other side."
He paused, looking up at Moll.
"I don't think so?" He said, thinking, "There are extra blankets, and there is the couch, or I might have another mattress you can borrow. It's nothing luxurious, but it should work. I've not had any guests, so it has never come up."
