Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: Ben's a tan kid who spends plenty time outside. He's got broad shoulders and long limbs to suit his tall 6'1 frame. He's been in a ridiculous amount of street fights, so he's got his fair share of scars. The most notable is the long scar from his ear down to his neck. At one point in time, he had wild black hair like his elder brothers but decided a buzz cut would help change his look. He's got honest, dark brown eyes, and thin eye brows. He's got the physique of a middleweight mixed martial artist.
Civilian Clothes: Ben like to mix and match basic items with louder items. For example he may wear a plan bomber jacket with a loud and colorful graffic tee. He may sport a black cap, with a funky button down, and some jeans. Really, he dresses like someone who gets styled... and it's because he does. The lone survivor from his past, is actually the one who fuels his closet with fun clothes to wear.
Hero Outfit:
Moon Man MK 1 (Ben Design)
Moon Man MK 2 (Waldo Design -- Current)
Final Submission, Night Sky
Unlike the other designs he's submitted. This designed strays away from the astronaut motif, and brings reality into play. He now wears a purple and black jumpsuit with zip up boots and purple gloves. This suit has more intentional padding to the right areas, focusing on the torso shoulders, elbows and knees. This allows for good protection without compromising movement or making this suit too bulky. His toolkit remains the same. In the spine of the suit is a slit where he hides his tanto, as most hero students shouldn't have weapons.
Support Items:
(Emergency)EMGC Headset- Replacing the bulk gadget on his arm, is a sleek and matching purple set of headphones. They aid with loud noises, but their primary functions remains the same as his prior gadget. Benkei can give live feedback and location pings, should anything go wrong and should he need help. Just like a call center headset, he can say a few words at the click of a button to ping his hero agency. He can also add these to team comm systems.
"Resolved"-Lets other heroes know things are A OKAY at the press of a button.
"Hero Aid!"- This button will send a radar ping and request aid from nearby hero agencies.
"Escalation"- A radar ping to emergency forces such as ambulances, squad cars, and fire trucks.
"Request Lo"- If a hero needs aid nearby, he can request the location. The headset will relay directions on how to get there.
Gloves- There isn't really any tech put into these besides some knuckle padding on the inside, and hard nubs on the outside to add some extra sting to strikes.
Moon Boots- A springy boot that dont need an activation, but they also don't get up as high as the prior mechanism. These zip up boots can gift someone an extra bounce.
Toolkit/Utility belt:
Handcuffs
Flares- Red tubes used to bring attention, red light, and smoke.
Sound grenade Pellots- Small beads that emit a painful shrieking sound to disorient foes.
Bandages- for himself, allies or civilians.
Bokken (Tanto size)- a wooden practice sword, shaped and carved like a blade. The weapon is quite short and hides well within his clothes. Concealed within this practice weapon is the real deal. It was a gift from Yoo, and was said to only use in emergencies.
Tube Food- Energy-boosting sustenance compounded and compressed into a tube form. Great for a pick-me-up, when feeling weak.
Personality
Bad Habits:
He's almost always surprised at the price of things.
As skillful as he is, he blames almost all of his achievements on luck. He's doesn't really think that highly of himself.
Due to perpetually being around people older than him, he sometimes sounds like a full grown adult.
Goal: To become everything opposite of what he grew up with and around. To become a TRUE hero.
General Personality: Ben's a pretty tame guy with a nice vibe about him. He is grateful for anything good that happens and still tries to learn the lessons of the bad. He's not the best with his words, in the sense that he will deliver the most blunt truth. Things like sugarcoating and giving fluff are completely beyond him. This bleeds into his ability to lie, causing him to suck at pretending. He is living proof that it's not always nurture that shapes a person, but nature. He's been through his fair share of trials and tribulations but maintains a positive attitude toward the future while being mindful of his present.

History:
Origin
Benkei's early life was a lonely existence. His two brothers were foot soldiers for a crime boss, indebted to work for him as a thank you for saving them. With their parents being killed, it only made sense to go for the kids. Well, that was until the crime boss's kid came and saved the day. Coach's son, Prince... he said the Yozara family from ruin, or at least what was left of it. While Z and Spike did their duties for coach, Benkei found himself working with Prince and the Bones crew. They weren't related, but they'd be the closest thing to family he was going to get. Sure they'd fight, and train each other to protect one another, but it was better than roaming the streets.
Trouble came when Coach got arrested, and all the power was left to Prince alone. Things went downhill from there. While crafty, the young kid shot his mouth off too much... It was safe to say the small group known as Bones was becoming public enemy number one among other Yakuza groups and families in Chiba. The day everyone got killed, Ben hid in a cabinet, holding his breath and covering his ears, hoping nobody knew he was there. Even through the covering of his ears, the muffled screams resonated... He'd never leave that cabinet. He could hear voices... It wasn't clear how much time had passed. Maybe a day or so, but he didn't recognize them. A woman would open the cabinet, causing Ben to recoil in fear.
"Look at his eyes and jet black hair, Yoo... He's a Yozara boy." Rouge said, turning to Nocturne.
"A baby cousin all the way out here? I thought they all moved to America. No... I do remember them being at odds with The Masks from Tokyo. Probably got caught up before leaving... shame. " A grim looking man kneeled down beside Rouge. The same jet-black hair... Their skin tones were different, and Yoo's eyes were much darker. Something about him reminded Ben of his brothers.
Ben couldn't recognize them. He'd only heard about this guy. He was considered both Yakuza royalty for heading the dragon's name Ryuujin, but was known to be a traitor for becoming a hero and slaying his father. Ben felt like he was frozen in time. "Come on out." Rouge would be the one to extend a hand. Yoo seemed to be analyzing him. "Where are your brothers? If I remember right, your family is filled with boys, whether brothers or cousins." He was in detective mode, there wasn't an ounce of empathy. Rouge would be the one providing that. "Gone..." Benkei replied softly. Already putting the pieces together, Yoo-"And that's why you're with Bones?" Benkei would silently nod. Was he going to jail? This Yoodoumaru Ryuujin person seemed cold, but incredibly strong.
"Take him to my mother. Clean him up... prolly hasn't had a good meal in days." Yoo pinched the bridge of his nose. For an orphaned baby cousin, he couldn't just leave him there. If it meant fudging some paperwork, he'd do so for the boy. "He was never here, understood?"
"Hai!" Rouge replied. Two more men came in. They looked like detectives... Yoo's agency? He really was a hero. For the first time in his life, Ben's eyes sparkled with admiration. A hero...
When he finally arrived at the Ryuujin mansion, he'd meet Kanami Ryuujin. The woman was even scarier than her son, at least on the surface. This family had a weird thing about being softees at heart. She'd welcome him with a grand dinner, one he'd never forget. Behind the boys back, Yoo would have his resources find out as much as they could. Benkei Yozora, 12, born in Kyonan. Already had a police record... many of the crimes were petty theft, stealing cash, or nabbing food without paying. Based on the records, and how pure Ben's eyes seemed, Yoo could let out a breath of relief. The boy hadn't been forced to kill like he was. There was variation between upbringings within the Yakuza, but being trained to kill and having to fight for one's life were to different things. As shitty as it sounded, Ben was lucky to be on the latter half of the spectrum. He'd witnessed death but never had to take a life. The family wouldn't pry. In fact, they'd simply lend an ear if he ever wanted to cry or vent. It would take days until he could get a proper night's rest, but one day he finally did sleep.
A few days went by, and Yoo got him into a middle school over in Musutafu. He wouldn't know if but the dusk hero was putting in the ground work to support Benkei as best he could. That support meant he'd have to live in Musutafu as well. Understandably, being rescued from one yakuza group, to being rescued by another... there would be a target on Ben's back the longer he stayed with the Ryuujin. In fact, if he stayed too long he may have gotten confused for one. With some strings being pulled, Benkei found himself in the caring paws of the Bear Den. It was here, he'd face solitude again, not by circumstance this time but by choice. Been was a peculiar kid. He was plenty social when spoken to, but never went out of his way to nurture relationships. If his existence brought danger to everyone around him, he needed to become strong enough to face being alone for now, and strong enough to become a hero so that he could nurture those around him. With a simple train ride, he was always welcome to train at the Ryuujin Dojo. As long as he made it home before curfew, he could still spend that precious training time with his new "family."
UA
Through some feat of magic, Benkei was allowed into UA hero academy. He had a meeting with the principal and was told not to speak to much about his past. Benkei knew well enough... His history had taught him that his last name was a bit of a curse, and he was lucky to be here. He didn't want anyone getting hurt because of him. Quite the misunderstanding. It wasn't really the case... he was skilled, but making an exception for a criminal record was a big deal. They mainly just didn't want kids spouting about what things they did or got away with. Most kids with similar troubles were told the same thing. While he was technically suited for the hero course, his path would be a longer one. The safer route was to show Ben the ins and outs of managing an agency with the management course. From there he could easily jump ship and join the General Studies course. After that, it was purely up to his physical scores to place him into a hero department course. Benkei wasted no time in showing and proving why he was meant to be there.
Standing at the edge of city B with some other students, Benkei was raced in as soon as he heard the buzzer. He was quite docile in the first half, mainly running to gather as many robos in one bunch as possible. With an explosive showing he netted himself a fair amount of points, before running the field to steal points from others. He thought the biggest robo would gift him the most ponts, so he did well to take one of them out, which subsequently led to a few hero points. His ending score was a respectable 38 V 17 H points. A nice chunk of his points were just from striking, where many of his peers were almost strictly using their quirks. Next up was an assessment, and after that a assignment for him to participate with year 2's hero department to see how well he could keep up.
"Sorry I couldn't support you any further..." A glum sentiment from his favorite cousin. The news hit him hard, but the words from his agency were hitting him harder.
"It couldn't be helped. You've done more for me than anyone. I'll never stop supporting you, Big bro Ryuu" Ben bowed deep. He could feel a hand rest on his shoulder. Yoo paused as if he had something else to say, but would begin his walk to Terebii's office. Still bowing, Benkei could feel himself welling up. Yoo personally saved his life, and helped him into UA. One mistake couldn't kill his cousin's heroism. Benkei was absolutely sure about that, but it steeled him and his resolve to become greater than even him. Before Yoo could get out of ear shot, "I don't care about ranks and fame. I'll become a hero for myself! I'll become a person I can be proud of." Yoo chuckled in response.
"Your blade skills still aren't up to my standard. You'll have to come by the dojo from time to time... Yozara boy."
"HAI!" Benkei roared in response, tears rolling.
It'd only been two weeks since becoming a hero and Benkei's life has already been jam-packed with ups and downs. He first met Serena, Nocturne's formal disciple. While she no longer aligned herself with his cousin, he felt like he gained an ally and true friend in her. Later that same week, he got to say the powerful quirks of his classmates in the quirk assesments. After finally getting his feet wet, it seemed like life was throwing him in the deep end! After hard fought spars with new friends, Yo and Faliwah, Benkei found an acceptance letter in his student mailbox! He was a bit worried, but he wanted to do this. He'd dreamt about this!
After meeting up with Ghidora, the two go on a patrol to see if Space Cadet Kyo's got the chops to join the dragons. The young hero was able to defeat two villains, but couldn't get the job done against the very last one. He fought hard to protect everyone involved but found himself in a hospital bad. It was over for him, it had to be over for him. Ghidora tells him otherwise, praising is efforts instead and offers him the role. With a strong proclamation, Benkei or rather "Nightsky" enters the Dragon Heights!
Quirk
Name: Star-Maker
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: The user emits a dark cloud of dust from their person. By super charging the dust, it glitters and flakes in the same mesmerizing hues and colors space would. From this personal chunk of "space", the user can create star constructs that can be used in multiple ways. They can be used as platforms, bladed weapons, shields, bombs, and even be launched as projectile "shooting stars."
Supermoves:
Shield Constellation: A large solid star used to shield oneself and allies.
Solar Flare: An tiny little star, but it's shine is like that of a flashbang.
Star Shooter / Shooting Star: A smaller star creation launched as fiery hot bullet-like projectiles. The trajectory can be honed a bit, but not totally controlled. For a shotgun-like effect, Benkei can make a small grouping to blast an enemy (or enemies) a wider bullet spread, but for more accurate shooting, he can also shoot one star at a time.
Blade Constellation: A sizable solid star to be used like a giant shuriken or makeshift blade.
Aligning Star: A solid star to be used as a platform. It's a great aid to catch falling civilians or boost mobility
Super Nova: A compressed star, clutched tightly between both hands, before unleashing a meteoric strike or shooting star projectile. The explosion is massive and shows off various colors in a beautiful display.
Drawbacks:
-The quirk eats up the user's oxygen and makes it so he can't relentlessly spam his quirk. For consecutive use, user can go 3 posts max before needing a break post. Straining to push passed this limit can lead to light headedness and fainting due to a lack of proper oxygen.
-These are quirk-made stars, not real stars, and would be more akin to being a fire or dust-explosion user. That fact makes water a direct counter.
-It's strongest at night, and weakest during rainy wet weather.
Fighting Style:
With some good training from reliable source, Benkei excels at cat-and-mouse tactics. With intentional dramatic pauses or misdirections, he tries to mess with his enemy's sense of timing. Whether up close or midrange, he's always thinking of a plan to trick a foe. Due to his prowess at midrange combat, he uses his star power to corner and corral enemies in a specific direction. From here he can overwhelm them with his hand-to-hand combat prowess or back off to reset the exchange. With or without his gear, he's quite the acrobat and with or without, his quirk he packs a serious punch.

Hero Outfit:
An all white suit with a black mask. The design is simplistic, and straight to the point. There isn't much padding, and the mask has no functional properties. While the back has a nice flotation device, and built in parachute, this suit was incredibly lacking on the first few test runs. It was tight, uncomfortable and ran incredibly hot. The mask was also a bit too literal, and hard to breathe in.
A most urban styling imagination of an astronaut designed by Ben's good buddy. A orange jumpsuit gives the breathable fabric that the last suit was missing. With a tool pouch sitting on the back pocket of the suit, the design isn't interupted and doesn't look too obvious to be a hero suit. Dense padding in the chest, elbows and knees protect the user. In the mask's visor is a comms unit, and night vision setting. Speaking of the jacket. Adding some extra padded protection is a vintage NASA bomber jacket, outfitted with plenty of inner pockets. The parachute no longer comes in the suit, but there is a pull tab hidden away, to puff up the entire outfit to help pillow rough landings. This puff up also replaces the need for a floatation device, knocking out two birds with one stone.
