Miyuki could barely see or understand what was going on. One moment, he was feeling his grief and regret pour out of his eyes and nose like a fire hydrant, and the next, he was being stared down by a very scary Dr. Brine-sensei, who was chugging water down his throat. But, that wasn't water, it was the stuff that he made with his Quirk. Could that really help him? The desperation in the man's eyes seemed to lean in that direction. He had been so quick to act on this. He must be used to this sort of thing. Miyuki was glad. He needed someone he could trust with this.
That didn't make the pain any easier to manage. It was both an overwhelming and stifling sensation, barely being able to breathe as his insides swam in Dr. Brine-sensei's Quirk. Maybe Miyuki's case was just that serious. It would make sense. He had nearly destroyed the room. He needed to be more careful. What was it that Dr. Brine-sensei said? The words ebbed and flowed from his senses not unlike the tide that was throttling the boy's gullet. He needed to perform. That made sense. This was his Quirk test, after all. He must not be doing good enough... but, he was doing good enough that Dr. Brine-sensei had stepped in to help. He had asked specifically to do this with him, just the two of them. Miss Flashfire had done similar sessions with Miyuki when he was just starting out with the Dragon Heights. I just need to do what he says. I need to listen to Dr. Brine-sensei. Miyuki repeated it back to himself in his head. It was about all he could focus on while the doctor's Quirk worked its magic.
And it was magical. If it wasn't, it may as well have been. Miyuki felt... fine now. Better than fine, actually. He had nothing to feel bad about. Why had he even acted like that? That was so embarrassing! Dr. Brine-sensei was right, that wasn't his best at all! The boy was slow to rise, and before he could speak, he coughed up the rest of what had lingered in his mouth. It tasted like... something. Something good. Miyuki couldn't tell what it was, but it put him at ease. He could probably rely on Dr. Brine-sensei to calm him down if he ever got too worked up. He didn't want to be a danger to anybody.
"Ye-" Miyuki paused, choking one final time on a lump that had formed in his throat. He shook it off quickly, rising to his feet as he looked up expectantly at the doctor, a man larger than life. "Yes, sir. I won't let you down. I-I promise. Please..."
He tapped his index claws together, sheepish. "Please don't tell anyone about what happened, Dr. Brine-sensei. I, I don't want Miss Flashfire thinking I'm weak. I, I can take it. I can do it." Miyuki nodded to himself. Yes, he could do it. He had to.
