The room was wide, stark white and filled with a personalized array of tests and radar drones. 1b, Miyuki... Quirk: Combustion Throat EX. Now this was going to be an interested meeting. Brine had directives from higher-ups to move and assign something for the student. So he would. The man would make sure this space was to be uninterrupted, and more importantly free of cameras. A sizable water tank was held on the far end of the room incase any medical attention was needed, but they weren't to the point yet. He'd needed to get the introductions out of the way first. Legal Name: Robert Brine Alias: Dr. Brine Quirk Name: Seafoam Picture:Notable Achievements: Not much is known of him. He's one of those heroes that blew up overnight. Miyuki wasn't quite sure what to expect. He thought that he would just do the tests with everyone else, but apparently Dr. Brine-sensei had other ideas. That in itself had put the boy on edge. He must have done something wrong. He just needed to remember what it was. He had only started his time at U.A., and already he was getting special treatment. Was Miss Flashfire going to find out about this?
With thoughts like these swimming in his head, it came as little surprise that Miyuki entered the room with an anxious gait, his tail practically tucked between his legs. He tried to avoid the man's eyes at first, but quickly pivoted on that when he realized that avoiding looking at the person he was meeting with would probably get Miyuki on his bad side.
This room was so... clean. Miyuki had never been in a room this clean. Not even the Magmafields was this spotless. Miyuki nodded to himself, and took a deep breath. He needed to relax. This guy was a doctor. This was just a check-up or something. This was fine.
Miyuki meekly waved up to Dr. Brine-sensei. He was... tall. Everyone was tall to Miyuki, but this... Dr. Brine-sensei was larger than life. "H-Hey, doc. You... wanted to see me?"

The man cast a baiting stare, before even acknowledging Miyuki properly. A sharp eye passed along his wrist- "Late..." He said looking down at the boy. Generally, Brine always looked uninterested... almost dying of boredom among the amazing children that walked the halls. Today, he looked alert... awake. It was unclear why he had so much conviction today, but he was emitting a lot of pressure. "Your assessments, Miyuki. You're of the few students that hasn't taken them." A pause. He wouldn't spill so much, but it was nearing the end of the day. This meant Miyuki was arriving even after the 3rd year all finished, even with being notified at the beginning of the day. Late was an understatement, but for what it was worth, thing works out just fine this way. He'd bring his hand up to his mask and tweak the snorkel. His voice sounded clearer, likely the closest thing to his true tone that anyone would hear.
"These are a bit different than the general assessments. I'm not doing these with just anybody, so don't waste too much of my time."

Miyuki audibly gulped. L-Late?! Had he lost track of time so badly? Wasn't this supposed to be happening at the same time as his classmates' assessments? Soon, Miyuki's mind was racing at the idea that he was already so behind. He was always behind. Though, from how Dr. Brine-sensei was talking, Miyuki was confused as to how much of a good or bad thing was. "Just anybody"... did that mean Miyuki was special good, or special bad? The uncertainty was worse than knowing for sure if he was a bad kid; Miyuki already thought that about himself more often that he ought to.
The boy looks up at the teacher, shellshocked. He nods, quickly, not wanting to be a bother. "Y-Yes, sir. Sorry, sir." Miyuki resists the urge to look down at his feet, and approaches. He fidgets with his hands, holding them out in front of him, so that Dr. Brine-sensei doesn't think he's up to anything. "What do you need m to do, sensei?"

So docile. This was one of the prized specimen? Brine scoffed. What was management thinking? The robos were organizing in an impressive fashion, as he began his instruction. One robo would even grace the good doctor with a chair! Simultaneously, the others would reveal thick slates of metal. There had to have been twenty slates, each five inches thick and a few centimeters apart. It was simple enough. "Firstly, try to blast through this lineup. It begins weakest to strongest. In this line up slates begin at regular metals all the way to stronger, and even quirk-made metals at the end. Ideally, I just want to see how far and how hot your flame can go." He said, folding his arms. The robos gave a thumbs up, meaning all safety requirements had been met for the boy.
"And don't bore my with that stage fright crap. It's just me and you in here. " He sounded off with a thumbs up of his own. In his other hand was a digital clipboard, to jot down any notes, ideas or snippets of tangent thoughts.

He... he wanted him to use his Quirk? In here? Miyuki glanced around. It was starting to make sense why they were in a closed-off room. Miss Flashfire must have told Dr. Brine-sensei about how dangerous he could be. They needed to test him apart from everyone else. Alright. He could do that.
"I-I'm not scared!" Miyuki's scarred maw tightened into a grim expression, ears perked at an angle. If Miyuki was a foot or so taller, it may have looked intimidating. Here, it was like a runt balking at the pack leader. He got into position, and took a few deep breaths. It's just a test. Nothing serious.
Miyuki closed his eyes. He reached down inside, and found that feeling. Feelings. Irritation, mostly, the doubt, anxiety that had been bubbling today. It wouldn't take much to spark. When Miyuki opened his eyes, his body glowed for a brief moment, an effect that quickly traveled through his body and out through his mouth as he spewed forth a burst of purple flame, wide enough to cover the target area. It overcame the first set of metal almost immediately, and was already working well through the second set before Miyuki started to apply himself. But, he hesitated to continue. Right now, it just stung, and he felt like that was a pretty good test run. The flames dissipated, and Miyuki took a couple steps back to catch his breath.
The boy looked up at Dr. Brine, hopeful. "How was that, sensei?"

Well enough... The fire melted through about halfway through. The last few sheets were some of the toughest material Brine could get his hands on. He wouldn't be surprised if even the super strength users couldn't punch a hole through it. This was more than what he asked for. He plucked at the pad, and jotted some notes, his expression remaining the same as he verbally patted the boy on the head,-"Good..." he'd exhaled dryly, he meant it but it was like sarcasm radiated from his entire being. It was good though. The robos took action quickly pull the scraps and trash away, and replacing the metal with the water tank that had been tucked in the corner. There would be another tank brought near Robert, just in case. BUT, he continue with the next instruction.
"Here, I'd like to see capacity. How long can you spit flame before you gullet gives way. I'll be here to heal you if you can't continue." He said, reaching a hand out to manipulate the water closest to Miyuki. The element would coil into a rippling spiral, an almost infinite vortex that invited Miyuki to spit flame into it. It would not only mitigate any excess heat, but keep from damaging the training room too much. These large units cost MONEY.

Miyuki continued panting. It never felt good using his Quirk. Something felt... wrong. He couldn't put his finger on it. Some Quirks were just... like that, sometimes. That's what Miss Flashfire and the Dragon Heights had told him, and it's the story he was sticking with. He knew better than to hope that the tests were over, though. Dr. Brine-sensei was... intimidating would be putting it be lightly. But, Miyuki didn't want to let him down. He didn't want to let anyone down. He would do whatever was asked of him.
The boy found his strength again, puffing out his chest as he psyched himself up for... water? His scarred snout wrinkled, as he eventually had to be told what was going on. Use fire on... the water? Miyuki couldn't believe that any kind of water-based Quirk could hold up against his flames, but this was also Dr. Brine-sensei. So far, the man could do no wrong in Miyuki's eyes... and he didn't want to get yelled at again.
"Uhh... okay." Miyuki nodded, apprehensive. This was going to be... more. A lot more. In truth, Miyuki wasn't at all worried about Dr. Brine-sensei. He was worried about himself. This inner monologue was stalling for what he would have to put himself through. But, it'd be worth it. It had to be worth it. And besides... Dr. Brine-sensei was here for him. He was a teacher. The school nurse, even. He needed to trust him.
Like other times that Miyuki had tapped into his Quirk consecutively, it took less effort to bring out that fire, but it certainly cost more, so to speak. The boy's knees shook for a moment before he forced them to hold steady, as if he was a human artillery battery. The flame was relentless. Miyuki's glow was brighter now, fiercer. Miyuki roared in tune with the sustained jet of purple magma protruding from his jagged mouth. It was unlike anything that Miss Flashfire had done. If anything, it reminded him of when she found him, engulfed in that violet blaze. That's where this came from, after all.
Through this, Miyuki was struggling keeping his eyes open, either from physical exhaustion, his eyes welling up, keeping up the mental will to keep going... or all three. How long did he have to do this for?

Steam erupted from the whirling vortex, but the water particles seemed to violent reacted to Brines manipulation. As the vortex continued to whirled, the resulting steam would spit out a warm drizzle. Brine would continue as long as Miyuki would. Unlike the boy, Brine didn't need to catch his breath. With his free hands, he'd whip a jet of water up. It was alarmingly close to Miyuki's mouth, as if he were aiming there on purpose to cut the jet of purple flame out. "That's good. That's good." The doctor would reassure Miyuki before tapping away at his pad to gather more notes. He wasn't expecting the projectile to evolve like that. What exactly triggered it? The pitter patter of his foot steps could be heard as he got in close to Miyuki with a small flash light. The good doctor wanted to inspect to see if there was any blistering. "Say ah."

Miyuki nearly fell down when Dr. Brine-sensei tapped him out. His balance was bad, made worse by the fact that he was out of breath by the time he was told to stop. His arms flailed for a moment before the school nurse caught him. Miyuki put his arms down to his sides, relieved. In spite of Dr. Brine-sensei's water, some o Miyuki's flame was still there, stubborn to being completely extinguished. The ember breathed in tandem with the boy, pulsing with a life of its own. Only when Miyuki cleared his throat and relaxed his mouth open did the rest of that purple flame retract deep within Miyuki's body.
He watched Dr. Brine-sensei approach, doing his best not to appear intimidated. Miss Flashfire rarely took him to the doctor. Something about "overcoming your weakness". Seeing a giant of a man walk towards him with a flashlight was... going to be memorable, to say the least. Miyuki gulped, with more fear than he realized. Why was he feeling like this? He hated it.
"Aaahh...?" The insides of Miyuki's mouth was... completely unharmed. It was as if he hadn't just breathed purple fire, twice. If anything, it seemed to be in better condition than one might expect from someone with his upbringing. His throat area certainly looked healthier than other students in his year. However, it was most certainly hot to the touch. Hot enough to leave a first-degree burn, from the residual of the flame. His breathing had become shallow, but not in the way of physical tiredness. It was the kind of breathing one had when they were trying to hold back a sigh. Miyuki kept watching Dr. Brine-sensei with a look that bordered between nervousness and confusion. How long did he need to keep his mouth open?

"What the hell did he do to you... or were these changing your own doing? Your intestines should've been effected by something this hot." He muttered under his breath. He'd have to write this down. Such a hot flame with minimal destruction to the internals. He had an idea of the quirk factor, but it was someone else who dug into the details. Genetically speaking the boy matured more than what previous data had stated, combined with whatever psychological changes that came with adolescence. He'd sigh, jotting something down with one hand, the pad held up by one of the robos. The other still held the light up to Miyuki's mouth. He paused, adjusting the snorkel once more, now that he was done writing. There was a voice augmentation that occurred after he made the last adjustment. A few other grumbles would leave his mouth but luckily his snorkel killed off how audible it would be. It seemed like he was trying to recall something, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what. It obviously was important enough for him to shield the boy from. For some reason the doctor seemed stressed about something. Backing up a few steps, he'd raised his hand to create another vortex.
"Again!" Adjusting the snorkel back a normal setting.

When Miyuki was freed from his stance, he almost got disoriented from how tightly he had been holding his mouth like that. It felt a little sore. Was it supposed to feel like that? He couldn't remember the last time he had been to a doctor. It made sense in the moment, what with his Quirk and all, but... ahh, better not to think about it. Miyuki pushed through the confusion, not about to risk drawing Dr. Brine-sensei's ire when he had just started getting on his good side.
Miyuki's eyes widened at the vortex. A-Again?! He looked up at the imposing nurse and suppressed a gulp. If, if that's what he needed to do, then that's what he needed to do. The dragon boy paced back and forth a few times, taking deep, controlled breaths. That was more like it. There was just... Miyuki's thoughts went back to, oddly enough, the last time he had gone to the doctor. He couldn't remember what doctor, but it had been with Miss Abyss, that he knew for certain. Miss Flashfire was pretty outspoken against going to others for help, but Miss Abyss was insistent. Something to do with... decay? Something decay. The only part of the memory that stood out at this moment was the sucker he had gotten when all was said and done. It was more like a jawbreaker, for how it was designed to hold up against his teeth, but it was a sweet thing all the same. He wondered if he would get one of those once they were done here.
He sighed, and stopped pacing. He was ready. Miyuki mustered his strength, and roared forth a powerful stream of bright purple flame once more. It flared with intensity, nearly as strongly as the first two times. He- he needed to give it his all! Dr. Brine-sensei wouldn't be satisfied with anything less!

So... now came the question of diversity and resistance. "Don't let up, though I'd like to know if you can widen the blast, or maybe even refine it into a thinner blast for distance." He tapped the pad a few times. With his free hand, he'd adjust the vortex to spin faster, the center point slowly beginning to dispel the flame. If Miyuki wasn't careful, Brine's waters would encroach and wash over him. A robo would wheel in a another water tank for Brine to add to the vortex. The swishing sound of water combine with the hissing evaporation that became of the two elements colliding were extremely loud. This would be Brine's final test before talking to Miyuki directly with a customize questionnaire of sorts. Before that though, he'd egg the boy on. "C'mon. Get wet or show your moves. Pick one."
A ping alerted him from inside the helmet. He'd have to correspond to management's warnings within a week's time apparently. There still wasn't enough data on the subject in his opinion... Instead of coming short, he figured he'd compensate with figures and data from some good candidates. Both year 2 and year 3 had likely candidates for selection... although he wasn't the one to make the final decision. Ultimately if he made good on his promise to them, he'd be able to stay safe - or at least, as safe as he could be.

Wide... wide... Miyuki could do wide. He remembered the warehouse. Warehouse? Was that what it was? His thoughts were starting to fray. All he could think about was the fire, and the force behind it. His force. It belonged to him. It was him. There was nothing else to understand, or to think about. That inferno had claimed everything, except for him. Had... had he done that? Was that building fire... his? No, no, there's no way. Miss Flashfire had found me while it was... still raging on. It couldn't have been me... could it? My, my fire, doesn't, do that...Audibly, as well as visually, something sparked within Miyuki's flame breath, as if there had been an additional chain reaction. Then a second, then a third. Each time, the intensity of the fire doubled, becoming that much hotter, and that much wilder. Streaks of purple flame licked at the walls, threatening to rage completely out of control. The room had been safeproofed, of course, but even against Dr. Brine's measures, there was a point where it seemed that they were beginnning to erode into melted slag. Only the supplemented vortex managed to hold against the intensified fire, and only just. This heat was not just heat, either. There was some primordial aura to it, the sense that one had when they were in the presence of something truly unique, even among Quirks. There were too many possibilities as to just what that could be, but there was no question about it. Miyuki's Quirk was suddenly performing many times over its original capacity as had been estimated by the Dragon Heights when they introduced him to Dr. Brine. And then, it was over. In an instant, the violet inferno that had been localized in this small testing chamber vanished back inside Miyuki's stomach. The flames themselves were pushed back down his gullet, as if they had never come out of his mouth to begin with. The lingering flames over the floor, the walls, the equipment, were the only evidence that something had taken place at all. There was no smoke to clear. This flame, however it worked, left no obvious trace beyond the impact of the heat itself. There was a soft thud as Miyuki had fallen to the floor, curled up in a fetal position. He was sobbing uncontrollably, phlegm and tears mucking his face as much as he dared show. His arms tried in vain to cover his face, at times flailing around his body along with his legs. "I, I, I-I-I, cuh, can't, I can- n-no, can't, I caaaaan't, I, can't..."The boy let out a gasp of air. It was too much for him to get a hold of himself. These sudden gasps were all he could do to try to control this outpouring of his emotions. At- at least Dr. Brine-sensei was the only one who saw him like this. Not even Miss Flashfire had seen him like this. He had been very careful not to let it show at the Magmafields. He was strong. He was brave... Miyuki violently shook his head, defiantly so. "Nuh... no more. No, no more, no more. Can't... I can't."

For a moment, Brine smirked... -even laughed as Miyuki's flames far exceeded measurement. The robots cowered, some of them even short circuiting by the heat. The quirk-proof walls, glowed red as the first few layers began to struggle to remain in tact. Brine held his arm in front of him, his wet coat being his greatest asset against something like this. The jacket foamed in response healing the good doctor as he stepped forward in amazement. Closer and closer, he'd come. Even his protective mask began to grow hot. "Hahahahaha. Yesssss... That's it, more..." He mumbled. This is exactly what management wanted to see. The coveted results were there... He needed to know the trigger... how it leveled up so many times over in this instant. While not an awakening, he damn sure had the capacity for it. Miyuki would be able to do this if the right triggers lined up. Awakenings weren't an exact science study, but an experience-based study. There was no one, two or even three ways to achieve it. How could he get Miyuki to awaken? The boss would be SO SO SO pleased if he could get the subject that far.
As the flame died, Brine could feel glass shattering in his soul. "No! no no no no." He'd rushed toward the student with his jaw dropped. His expression, somewhere between complete ire and... fear? Why was he afraid? Well his life and family were staked on this job and its success. He didn't get here for the perks and 401k, that's for damn sure. In a rushed movement, he snatched Miyuki's jaw. The despair in his eyes were exuding an unsuspected blood lust. "Why? Don't put the power away... Does it hurt?" He tilted his head, almost crazed for the awe-inspiring flame Miyuki just projected. He was hungry to see more without much care for the boy's physical or mental state. If it hurt, he'd just heal him, simply put. "If it hurts, just says so... We can't have progress like that fizzling out." His eyes were wide, fluid from his jacket turned into his patented Seafoam. It'd creap down his sleeve and down Miyuki's gullet. The substance would hardly leave any oxygen, only just enough not to outright drown him. It was an unnaturally painful and awkward process. The sensation of choking, just for it to be healed, and reinstated a moment later. He didn't want Miyuki talking back. Without proper oxygen, the ONLY option would be to listen. "Please understand, this is NOT a game. You MUST perform. You HAVE to perform as I see fit, okay? Just do as I say and all will be well." He'd state as if he weren't literally waterboarding the boy.
"People are watching. People are expecting. I can't fail, that means YOU can't fail." Brine had such fine control over his quirk, he'd force more foam into Miyuki. As he emphasized "fail" the liquid would needle the boy's internal organs, but due to its healing properties, they'd heal right back up. This was to instill proper fear into Miyuki, -to show Miyuki he could endlessly torture him if need be and get away with it because there'd never even be a residual wound. If Miyuki didn't want this treatment, all he had to do was get stronger. "Please don't disappoint me." He'd removed his hand, the seafoam inside Miyuki would heal any damage done, and even promote an exhilarating chill from the inside before finally settling. " GOT IT?" He'd turn away from Miyuki.
