Rey leaned forward in their chair. She had desk duty today. Her station was... not spotless, but it was managed!... sort of. If you ignored the pocky crumbs and used doodle paper, some of which had been used for legitimate blueprints, and some of which were for lazy 4komas. Rey was dressed similarly, in a casual-but-still-ready-for-desk-duty 'fit that she had slipped out of bed into. No one had come in yet. Sometimes, that was just the nature of the job. More often than not, she treated it like... right, they had periods here. Like a free period. In today's case, Rey was tweaking a compact, white-plated box in front of her. It was a featureless thing, though judging from how one side was left open to allow work on the interior, it was something that Rey had been working on for a while. She looked around at the rest of the Support office space... empty. Rey rested her hand on her chin, a little glumly. She made a whinnying noise with her lips. Was this what she had to look forward to after graduation?

An eye would peek into the classroom... No teachers to rain on his fun parade. Seemed to be some sort of study hall, or free time. Koito wouldn't admit to where he was really supposed to be but made use of exploring the campus. The 1st years were supposed to report directly to Gigabite after lunch, but Koito said he was in trouble with Terebii... -a believable excuse. He'd stumbled upon the 3rd years' wing of the school and felt like being nosy. It was so weird. The upperclassman seemed to ignore his very existence. It wasn't a bad thing. It meant they were focused, and he was free to do whatever he pleased, as long as he didn't find himself in a beetle's headlock. The door would open, but one would have to look up as Koito floated in. "Excuse meeeeee." He eyed the classroom or lack thereof. Perfect!
"Yo!" He arrived directly in front of Rey, albeit briefly. The spiky-haired teen would find himself perusing plenty of "do not touch" items and equipment. There were too many things out in the open to stay focused on just one. He was decorated in a myriad of items, each on he had no clue how to operate, but he "I'm Koito, what's your name?" as if this was a casual happening. Something was ticking... was that bad?

Immediately, Rey's eyes shoot up. "Oh! Hey!" She crosses her arms on the desk, covering the box she was working on in time for the boy to approach. Rey attention goes to his dress first, then to the fact that she recognizes him. Sort of. Rey hadn't gotten to know the 1-A class specifically yet, but she could tell that he was a first-year. Call it a hunch.
"I'm Rey! Pleased to meetcha!" Without thinking, she waved emphatically to the boy, with excitement that a poindexter like herself didn't give to just anyone (except Rey totally gave this welcome to anyone, especially when they had rescued her from boredom). She makes a "hmmm" gesture over her lower chin area while she takes a moment to study Koito... along with everything he had been taking from the various Support desks on his way over to her station.
"Err... that, uhh, that isn't yours, Koito. Or that, or... excuse me!" She snapped her fingers twice in front of his face. Now he was holding twin neon-green rods in his hands. They lit up like glowsticks, but there seemed to be something more to them. The finer points of the design were probably beyond people who weren't familiar with it, but Rey knew, and she knew that someone like this Koito kid who most certainly was not supposed to be here did not know.
She shows a pleading look while offering her hand for her things back.. and to the rest of the items, too. "Please put them back, Koito. Neither of us want an accident."

Koito froze in place. He thought she was going to be a pushover and let him frolic among the advanced thingamajigs and whatsitdo's. What was the issue? Her name was Rey, and she was smart. By Koito's calculations, this predicament was anything but a problem. Still, he'd land on the ground, and remove gear piece by piece out of respect. "Mmmmm, can't say an accident won't happen, even if I sit still." This was true, he had a knack for trouble just as much as he craved to do good. One could call it balance, and one could call him a poor student. MOST would say the latter, despite how well he performed among his peers. Regardless, he-"So, you get to make cool stuff like this all the time? No missions or fun fights?" He waved the neon glow sticks like a person would direct an airplane on the tarmac. He really didn't get what to do with these things, but they satisfied his curious appetite for now. He felt he'd be interested in this sort of class, but he'd never sacrifice his want to be a hero.
Despite his antics, Koito was really good with his hands. His father and brother worked in construction, gifting the teen plenty of opportunities to work under the table when he was younger. He'd resist the urge to take something apart, mainly because if Rey was this distraught about him wearing things, she'd probably snap his neck if he tried doing what she and her classmates do. "And you get so much more free time. I couldn't imagine. If you're not training in your free time as a hero student, you're wasting precious minutes that can be used to get better." Interesting insight coming from a quality slacker. "What's something new that you've made? Am I at least allowed to be nosy?"

Rey puts on a brave face. She had had her fair share of troublesome students at U.A., and this Koito boy was probably going to be added to that category. Not that it was his fault, or a bad thing to be among that crew. They were some of the most interesting people to talk to. He actually came to hang out with her, for one... okay, maybe not her specifically, but Rey's ego could get creative if it needed to.
As it turned out, when Koito waved the glowsticks in that fashion, their glowing light shot out of the top ends, acting as a hyper-charged spotlight... and more, but the prickly details didn't matter after he handed them back to Rey, who quickly stowed them in an open footlocker behind her.
She couldn't help but laugh at his rambling. It reminded her of a certain someone, though not as... subdued. "Fights aren't really fun in my experience. People get hurt, or worse." She pushed up her glasses with her index finger, catching a glint of light in the process. "The Support track has the same kind of discipline as Heroes, you know. If we don't stay on top of our projects and apply ourselves to innovation, we're in a world of trouble."
"Oh! Of course!" Rey suddenly spun 180 in her chair, rummaging around in that same footlocker for a few seconds before finding what she was looking for. When she faced Koito again, she was gripping a forward-facing crescent-shaped device, sporting the same colors as her outfit. From how she had her finger on a trigger area, it looked a little like a gun. Rey was smiling before, but now she was practically beaming.
"Voila! If you would, uhh... scoot, a bit..." Rey faintly waved her free hand to the right in an attempt to get Koito to move. Once he did, Rey would take aim with the device, sticking her tongue out until she found her target. When she squeezed the trigger, the device came to life with a neon drone, creating a spark of bright green energy that shot out of the device in a sustained stream. It quickly took the shape of a hook, which Rey landed snug around the door handle perfectly. A quick tug, and the door slammed shut. Rey sharply moved the device upward and released her grip from the trigger. The light hook released itself from the doorknob (safely, mind) and retreated back into the device, which lost its electronic color.
Rey waggled her eyebrows, very pleased with herself. "Ehh? Ehhhhh?~"

Quite the contrary, "Fight are the best!" Their contrast in career paths present as ever. The boy gleamed in awe at the glow sticks. They were far more than that, and he'd gleam even more when Rey pulled another device. It gave him an idea. "Do you think a you could make that crescent thingie a projectile? Maybe like a boomerang, that can enclose on itself like handcuffs. For me, I mean..." He felt like he was on fire in this place. Rey and all these gadgets were giving him a rush of ideas. Was she the number 1 support student? Perhaps it was fate for her and the number 1 first year to meet! Could really put himself out there and ask? He'd pause before letting her in on a secret. "You see... I've always wanted to be a hero, but a costume and gear never crossed my mind. I'm behind my class by a LOT in that department. It's a part of the curriculum to get these things finished, but I haven't even turned a rough draft in." The latter half turned into a whisper just in case a teacher walked by. Koito was Koito, for the longest he didn't even have a hero name. It took some time but Wayward would fit his orientation powers. He'd give puppy dog eyes... And without much care for pride, or well-being, he'd sling himself to the ground and beg. Rey hadn't even given a yes or no, but she was an upperclassman. It meant she was busy and wouldn't have time for his shenanigans. She was also his first friend in support, but that didn't make her obligated to help him. He wanted to show he was serious.
With two hands clasped tightly together and his eyes closed, he-"Promise I'll make your work famous. You'll be able to support heroes all over the world if you let top 1st year, Koito Narasaka, be your guinea pig!" Was he begging or bragging? Regardless, it was incredibly sincere.

You know those are just bolas, right…? The thought crossed Rey’s mind, but her good manners stopped her from airing it to Koito. He was only a first-year student, and a pretty fresh-faced one at that. He probably didn’t know much by this point. The last thing she wanted to do was give the boy the impression that she was your stereotypical upperclassman. If anything, the Hero track tended to stick their nose up on Support, even when they were beneath Rey in class year. It was interesting, thinking about this when she was very much being pandered to with this boy’s attempt at flattery. The whispered tone didn’t escape her, either. Koito had interesting priorities.
The begging… well, it was begging. Even Rey wasn’t sure what to make of it. Her reaction was mostly even, but she couldn’t help but smirk, sort of hiding it with a hand pressed against the bottom half of her face. A couple beats later, she let out a sigh, which was more laughter than pity. ”Alright, you’ve convinced me. I’ll do this for you!” She tapped the side of her nose, playfully winking at him. It was her turn to whisper to him. ”But just so you know, you didn’t have to do the whole routine. I would have done it for you anyway. It’ll be our special little secret… provided you give me what I want~”
Koito was going to become intimately familiar with Compost Chocolate™.

”Alright, you’ve convinced me. I’ll do this for you!”
It worked? It worked! Koito's eyes glittered at her. She was a spectacular upperclassman indeed. Hopping to his feet, he punched the air in a fit of pure joy. "Hell yeah!" He grinned ear to ear. With a thumbs up, and a remarkable LACK of embarrassment, he- "Congratulations, Number 1 support student, you've earned a fan in Koito Narasaka" He clearly had a thing for number 1, but it was more of a testament to how much he enjoyed partaking in the best things, the best classes, and meeting the best people. Outside of his goofiness, he had an unnatural and distinct eye for quality in all things around him. Whether a sincere belief or a purist form of manifestation, Koito wanted greatness for himself and all those around him. In actuality, it was what he picked up looking up to Strive. While Strive was number 1 due to his success and popularity, Koito saw him as number one for his ability to bring out the best in himself and those around him. That was a true pillar of justice.
Koito came down from his excited high and placed his hands on his hips. "So where do I go? What am I supposed to get?" If she was willing to do him a solid, doing a solid for her was a no-brainer. If they were friends now, he was more than ready to help.

Rey adjusted her glasses, grinning rather madly. All according to keikaku plan! If she knew it was this easy to get an extra pair of hands, then she would have done this a long time ago!... ahem.
Rey quickly dropped the suave, sinister act. She was pretty sure Koito wasn't buying it anyway. Rey rummaged in one of her many bags under the table and pulled out a handful of paper slips that looked like stubs. She offered them to Koito like she was handing out gold doubloons. Her eyes shined with wonder, though also apprehension. This was a big responsibility she was handing to him.
"I need you to go to the Support Lounge... and cash in my work vouchers for nutrition bars. They have to be Compost Chocolate™. Do you understand? I need Compost Chocolate™. That's like, my life blood. My coffee double-shot espresso. The sauce. Am I making myself clear?" As Rey continued to drag on the sales pitch, she started to lean more and more across the table towards Koito's face, while at the same time spreading her arms wide across the table surface. It all looked a little unhinged.
Then, Rey quickly retreated, back to the sweet, sheepish demeanor that had greeted the boy in the first place. She clasped her hands in front of her chest, much like she was the one doing the begging now. "I'm, like, REALLY hungry, and I can't be bothered to go myself! It would be SO helpful, Koito-kun!~" Rey unclasped her hands, completing the quest assignment with a cute wink and an even cuter peace sign pressed against her cheek. Just like in Mew Mew Kissy Cutie!
Koito had no choice now. It always worked for Magical Miss Mew Mew. That meant it had to work for Rey. Anime would never lie to her.

Koito tilted his head. "Ummm. Clear as it can get, I guess." A nervous smile persevered. He couldn't get a real gather why it was so important. If it was so good why hadn't he heard of it? Was his taste in candy boring? He liked kit-kats and the variation of flavors. Still, he'd nod as she spoke. Shoving the slips into his pockets, the young hero exited the room and floated the halls, for what felt like forever. He'd only just stumbled on this room... Why'd she think he'd know where an entire support lounge was? He was a figure-it-out kind of guy not an ask-questions kind of guy, so he found it at some point.
There was a bit of push back of why he had these slips when he got there. It wasn't until he mentioned he was being a runner for Rey did they oblige him with the precious compost chocolate. As payment for his pain and suffering, Koito ate one... and it wasn't that good. What was the hype about? Anywho- after finally finding it, there was the task of making it back. UA was a discretely large school, in fact most people just admired it shape. But for a freshman like himself, it was a bit of a trip to get used to.
"Yooooo!" He exclaimed on his return, arm full of chocolates(minus one). "Special delivery. Where's my tip? WHERE'S MY TIP?"
