Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: Akai is an overbearing figure standing at a tall 7'5, and weighing 250lb. His large mass of hair is a spiky red mess, and his eyes are an icy blue. He has just a bit of facial hair, but he makes sure to not let it get out of hand(unlike the hair on his head). He's a bear of human, athletic and strong, his most prominent feature, if not his stature, is the scar by his eye.
Civilian Clothes: See below(though without all the equipment)
Hero Outfit:
He generally will wear his signature fur cloak over his uniform, decorated with a long line of pins due to his successes. His work gear consists of a grey uniform with many pouches. He's a bit more suited up than most, but this is because he deals with inmates a lot more than most. All of his equipment is well hidden under his fur cloak.
Uniform, bulletproof vest, and padding.
-1 Tranquilizer Pistol
-1 Clear polycarbonate riot shield.
-1 Stun baton
-1 Master Key Card
-Handcuffs
Personality
Bad Habits:
-A bit clumsy at times.
-He is an enthusiast for herbal remedies, and will often offer unsolicited remedies to help with ailments
-While often boasting a stoic expression, he's relatively easy to read.
Goal:
-To make a good check and make it home every day.
-As a man of duty, he aims to make sure nothing escapes his vision at the prison.
-Also as a man of duty... when it his day off, he wants to properly REST.
General Personality:
Akai is a simple man through and through. He honestly gives most things an honest effort and a straight first step forward. He's humble, and kind if you aren't an inmate or villain. Towards the victims of his station, he is an austere and strict individual. Funny business is allowed as long as it's ONLY jokes. With a watchful and vigilant eye of a prison guard, he can monitor and survey a whole room in seconds. Because he's dealt with such off-the-wall people in prison, he often looks to to make connections through mundane conversation. Small talk about what he ate last night, or did he watch the soccer game, is the purest of gold to him. Within the Tea House, he makes himself useful by fixing things around the building. (Many of which were accidentally caused by him)
When getting to know him on a deeper level, he isn't all that different than a peaceful monk. He's fair and hears people out. Despite how sharp and quick he is on the job as Redstone, he is a bit of an airhead and drifts like the wind when left to be at ease. He doesn't care for appearances or sounding a certain way. His straightforwardness coupled by his slow and steady pacing bodes for a soothing vibe to be around. The night and day difference between The Bear, and Redstone is a bit jarring, but at the same time funny. It's clear that compared to other heroes, he has a distinct on, and off switch.
Personal Life
Mother: N/A
Father: Bonsatsu Kuma "The Lumberjack" (A serial killer near Mount Tate. Quirk: Of Mountains and Man)
Siblings: N/A
Extended family:
-Ex Wife:Riza Right (shop owner Quirk: Nice Threads)
-Daughter: Regina "Leftie" Right (Villain, Quirk: Rockstar Wardrobe)
History:
To dedicate one's life to heroing, just to have a daughter turn out to be a villain... A hard pill to swallow. His wife would leave him, blaming their daughter's misfortune on his inability to parent properly. He was too tied up in being a hero, she'd say. He gave his all. He even took a second job to provide a better lifestyle for her. All of his efforts would be for naught. If he could dwell on the past, then the story would project a hero of the glory days alongside The Resolutes, Nocturne, even older heroes like Aeronaut and many others. Back then there wasn't such an emphasis on rank or fame. A hero had to do, what a hero had to do. Redstone was no different. He started his journey in his home town before moving to the big city. Evil stained his family, and he wanted different for himself, and for society. He'd take a hiatus when love struck. Even the most dedicated of heroes could find love... Things were going well for a time. They'd have a daughter who fell in with the wrong crowd. That's when everything began rolling downhill.
The day his daughter ran away, was the day his life changed forever. His wife stopped talking to him completely. To remedy this, he thought building up their existing life would help things out. He became a workaholic, if he weren't already one. Long days as a hero, and long nights at his new prison gig, the distance would only grow farther, even though he was able to secure a new home. It didn't feel like home. Not with his empty shell of wife walking its halls. When the divorce came, he found asylum in a tea house of all places. He arrived everyday quiet as a mouse, kind and stirring his whoas away in soothing herbal teas. For his size, the locals would call him the red bear, despite knowing he was the old glorious Redstone. Shock hit when the tea house was destroyed in a fight with a villain. It would have been the last straw had it not been for a young beetle hero. He was known as Gigabite, and he wanted to pick up the pieces. Akai would aid the hero, showing up everyday until the project was complete. He wouldn't know it, but he'd already solidfied himself as a member of the Koriban House of Hope.
Quirk
Name: Of Mountains and Man
Quirk Type:
Power: This quirk allows the manipulation of the earth by interacting with it via physical touch. This is an extremely old quirk, used by a small clan that litters the mountains of japan. It is said a person with this quirk, can burrow through mountains without displacing a single stone.
Supermoves:
Of Mountains and Man - The ability to seep oneself into the earth without disturbing the surface.
Refinement- The ability to refine even the softest dirt, sands, and soils into hard, sturdy makeshift stone. Stone that is already found and present will become more like metal in hardness.
WARdrobe- The easiest way to manipulate earth materials is to equip oneself with a stone-made weapon, constructs, and armor(his signature). There is a great deal of flexibility in how one can apply terrain to themselves.
Minor Quake- A prominent stomp to collapse and crackle the ground beneath him and his foe. It's can crush act as a quick pit trap, or greatly reduce enemy mobility. The key and actual use is to expose more raw materials to use.
Collapsing Cave- He will try to lure an enemy close in order to replace himself with them, encasing them in the crushing weight of his mountainous wardrobe.
Drawbacks:
-He cannot manipulate earth he is not physically touching.
-No earth means no quirk, while he can manipulate metal and concrete to an extent, it's not remotely as effective.
- This quirk must be used with an extreme deal of caution as it's incredibly easy to damage surrounding property.
-As he excels in nature and rocky environments, he suffers in highly wet environments as wet soils takes way more time to create solid stone and rock. Water users could apply this weakness to gain an advantage over him.
Fighting Style: A clever brawler, and damage dealer who has been refined and sharpened even further with the formal training of Tokyo's finest training regiments. He's incredibly sturdy, and defensive due to his quirk. This allows him to display a great deal of patience when needed. He's honed himself to a point where he can handle long wars of attrition. At times, all a battle comes down to is the simple wait for the right time and place to end a foe. Steadfast, and stoicly defensive, yet raw and overwhelming strong... This balancing act will have Redstone teeter between both unstoppable force and immovable object.
