General Information
Full Name:
Caitlin Snow
Codename or Alias:
Killer Frost (Past), Frost
Anonymity
Killer Frost was a rather well known villain, her reform was a bit controversial in the eyes of the public who believe she said anything to stay out of prison.
Gender:
Female
Race:
Human
Age:
26
Place Of Birth:
Pittsburg
Occupation/Status:
Scientist, Former Criminal
Alignment:
Hero (Redeemed Villain)
Factions:
The Champions
Canon Or Original?:
Canon (The Flash)
Powers/Abilities:
Unique Physiology: Caitlin's new state is very exotic in terms of biology. Her body is completely encased in permafrost. She is not made of ice but she generates organic ice-like cells which make up her changed genetics.
Cryokinesis: She can generate ice spikes to spear her opponents, kill an ordinary human with her freezing kiss and/or create a ice storm powerful enough to freeze everything, killing multiple people. Though true to her rehabilitation she mainly tries to contain people in ice or pummel them with hail stones like a shotgun.
Heat Absorption: Frost is a so called "Heat Vampire", to stay alive, she must regularly absorb heat. The most efficient way to satiate this "hunger" is to absorb the body heat of others.
Superhuman Durability: Caitlin can survive a shotgun shot to the stomach without serious damage.
Abilities
Genius Level Intellect
Science: She was once S.T.A.R. Labs' youngest and brightest scientist. She can solve difficult equations in a single day's time, as well as repair and operate heavy, energy generating machinery.
Unarmed Combat: Upon joining the Champions, she realized that now that she was often pulling her punches with her powers (so not to kill people), she picked up a few things after going to a few members who knew their stuff.
Weakness
Cold: Counter to common thinking, Frost's weakness is being exposed to freezing temperatures. Not only does it aggravate her condition, but it can trigger her heat vampirism.
Weapons/Items:
Snowflake: Part of her costume that she developed as Killer Frost, it acts as a bio-sensor. It also serves as an emergency source of heat when she is exposed to freezing conditions, though it only has enough thermal energy to work for a few minutes.
Appearance

Physical Appearance:
Caitlin is 5'4" tall and weighs 123 pounds. Her body is slender but has definition from training. She was always fairly attractive as a woman, but didn't really put any effort into tidying up until she became Killer Frost. Before Caitlyn's accident with the particle accelerator, she had light brown eyes and dirty blonde hair was kept back in a tight pony tail as not to interfere with lab work. Her skin was fairly on the fair side, albeit pale from being more of a bookworm and indoor person. After the accident, her skin has become a pale blue and somewhat translucent. Her eyes were turned blue and her blond hair has become white as snow, she wears it somewhat more loosely albeit styled.
Clothing and Armor:
Before the accident, Caitlin had a very reserved and uncomplicated wardrobe. Long sleeve button down shirts, polo shirts, blouses, long skirts, etc.
She has become more bold after being altered, wearing dresses and nearly skin tight outfits like bodysuits.
Her Killer Frost outfit is a tight fitting blue and black leotard, blue thigh high boots and long blue gloves with black motifs. She has a snowflake shaped symbol on her chest with a blue gem, it actually functions as a bio-monitor and an emergency heater for her.
Personality
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual
General Personality:
As a child prodigy who graduated from college with a masters at 18, Caitlin was always a bit of an odd duck. Kind, but timid and withdrawn, preferring the hum of lab machines or pages of a good book. When dragged into social encounters by classmates or coworkers, she would often try to find the quietest corners of the room, opening up to other wallflowers while staying guarded against brash and outgoing people. She was one of those people who avoided swearing, always coming up with nonsensical replacements.
The accident changed everything, like a veil had been lifted from her. She learned to enjoy life, a bit too much at first until she was rehabilitated. Frost carries herself much more confidently, so much so that she doesn't often bat an eye to scenes of brutality. She has retained a bit of her sadistic tendency towards her foes, though she gives them a chance to give up before encasing them in ice. After interacting with so many strong personalities as a villain, she built up a bit of a thicker skin and started using swear words, she isn't afraid to get physical either. She can still be a bit of her shy bashful self if embarrassed or pushed into a certain corner, especially if it's about the victims of her villainy or affairs of the heart. Deep down inside as a victim of bullying, both physical and sexual abuse, she can't stand any of it happening under her watch. She wants to save as many people as she can, even if they've been labeled a villain by society.
In the years she was a villain and even after her rehabilitation, Caitlin was desperate to find a cure to her condition. A villain who she had previously put some trust in offered to cure her shortly after her turn away from being bad, though it ended up being a thinly veiled attempt to brainwash her back into being a villain. It was like being hit with cold water, convincing herself that making her life a crusade to find a cure could lead to ruin, Caitlin opted to try and live with her condition from that point on.

History:
Considered a child prodigy at age 10, Caitlin Snow had already entered high school. With the support of her guidance counselor, young Caitlin emancipated herself from an abusive family, having developed patents in secret to sustain herself on her own. She was bullied frequently for being young, mostly in high school. Caitlin was used to the verbal abuse, keeping her head down and just let whatever happen, happen like being stuffed in a locker. Her grades were extraordinary, going through her school's curriculum like it was child's play. At age 14 she left for Metropolis, having been given a full ride to a university there. Although it was a bit more welcoming to someone like herself, there were still those among her peers who looked down on her, either calling her a little girl or know it all. In the last of year of her Master's degree after she turned 18, one of her professors gave her an ultimatum to complete her course with flying colors. Kind and timid Caitlin bowed to pressure and slept with her professor, again just gritting her teeth and keeping her head down to get through her obstacles. During her years at Metropolis University, Caitlin had managed to land several internships, LexCorp, Wayne Enterprises, Stark Industries, to name a few. But what impressed her the most was Star Labs, which was purely about the science and not simply a corporation trying to make a buck on their scientists.
Caitlin was over the moon when Star Labs reached out to her a few days before graduation, a few of the higher ups already familiar with her precarious living arrangements and diligence for lab work that matched senior employees. She felt like she was in a dream for first few months, mostly handling the odds and ends of other people's projects until she finally was given a true task. Star Labs was developing a powerful particle accelerator and it needed someone with years of experience to handle some of the more intricate maintenance and load testing, unanimously Caitlin was suggested for the job by her peers much to her delight. It took almost a year for the project to become even partially operational, mostly due to a few internal hiccups with other corporations or other branches of Star Labs. It was around her 2 year anniversary that they finally were able to bring the accelerator online. It was during the initial power up of the particle accelerator that something went wrong, external power had been cut even for the briefest of moments, blame being placed on the mob outside who were protesting that the accelerator was dangerous. It had caused a feedback loop in the accelerator, a dangerous amount of energy building up, not to mention the coolant system wasn't functioning. Caitlin leapt into action, quickly going into the maintenance area in order to trigger an emergency override. However as she was trying to activate the system, the accelerator burst and showered her not only with coolant, but a blast of the energy from the accelerator.
Caitlin felt like she was trapped in a neverending nightmare, only to wake up 2 weeks later in a special isolation room in a hospital. Severely imbalanced at the time, she dragged herself out of the room only to be restrained by two men. Her hunger took over, Caitlin drained them of their heat until they died of what looked like frostbite. She escaped the hospital, still on numerous meds that were meant to sedate her, making her reality seem foggy. Caitlin recovered in her apartment, though at this point she had realized her changes. It drove her into a wild rage, encasing her apartment building in ice as she lashed out. All of her tension that had built up over the years had finally snapped thanks to her now altered brain chemistry. It was the beginning of her villany as she fought off the first wave of cops who came to investigate the frozen building. Everything was a daze until she was slugged by someone wearing a Halloween costume. She was sent to Stryker's island for multiple murder charges despite some of her colleagues and medical professionals voicing their concerns over her medical condition which fell on deaf ears thanks to somewhat biased media. Caitlin didn't even realized she killed people, when she learned the truth... she felt nothing. The murders didn't bother her, but her altered state of mind did concern her.
After transport was arranged for her and several other villain types to a different facility, someone attacked the convoy to spring one of their friends, reaching out in friendship to the other prisoners. Friendship... or prison? Tough choice. She was encouraged by her new friends to embrace her impulses, to not be afraid of her desires and ambition. It honestly felt good, like a drug to be this free and detached from normal society. She became known as Killer Frost, mostly for her leaving frostbitten bodies behind like a vampire whenever she felt a desire for heat. The next 5 or so years were a blur, going in and out of prisons, breaking out or having someone bust her and others out, being forced to be a government dog once or twice in Amanda Waller's Suicide Squad. It all changed when eventually someone stopped to simply talk with her, Caitlin had been conditioned by her so called friends to be paranoid of anyone who wasn't a villain. She was a bit drugged out at the time so she didn't really even know who she was talking to. Somehow they managed to appeal to her intelligence and logical reasoning, convincing her to help them with something in exchange for cooperation.
Another metahuman was suffering from an overload of their powers, heating up to dangerous levels that threatened to explode if not contained. Caitlin in a controlled manner drained the excess heat from the metahuman until they were stable. This influx of heat broke a metaphorical ice that had built up over her brain, not just from physical need... but that she actually saved someone using her powers. She experienced a near mental breakdown as all the evil things she had done in the last 5 years hit her all at once. She was sedated to prevent her from harming herself. When she finally awoke again, she felt a bit more like her old self, though the coldness was still there. It was then that the person who originally approached her made themselves known, the Flash. Caitlin felt broken, unsure what to say or feel for once, but did notice that the room was surprisingly warm as opposed to brutally frigid like it normally was. Though not cured of her condition, Caitlin was convinced by the Flash to rehabilitate herself, that he would be personally vested in her progress if she chose to take it. Caitlin agreed to try, not knowing what future was in wait for her. After almost a year of therapy and talking to the families of some of her victims, enough people were convinced that she had made an almost complete 180 turn. Backed by medical research and scans taken over the years, enough evidence was on the table to bring to a parole hearing, one that was mobbed by the same press that had originally dogged and marked her as a villain from day 1. She made a passionate plea, even promising to devote herself and her powers to fighting others if need be. The case had already been decided as The Flash had some pull, she was released on parole much to the dismay of the public as well as several dozen victims or their families.
Even though she had been given a new lease of life, she could feel the hatred being channeled at her. Those who once supported her the last 5 years spat venom and labeled her a traitor as she was being released back out in the world and the public was unsure about her. She was given a job opportunity by Star Labs again. But after a few weeks Caitlin wasn't satisfied for long as she was privy to the state of the world first hand having been on the other side of things. She contacted The Flash to ask if there was something more she could do, after meeting it was decided that The Champions would be a good fit for her as they were closer in age and needed a more diverse powerset. Being back in Pennsylvania, even though it had been more than 16 years since she left home, Caitlyn reached out to her parents. Though it was much to her horror to find out both of her parents were dead, a murder suicide after her mother got caught with another man. While having her quarters at Champions facility, she maintained ownership of her parent's house, sometimes hosting get togethers. She could rely on the way she fought as Killer Frost anymore, having to rethink her entire way of fighting people, she put in the time and effort to get trained by those who were experts in unarmed combat, just to give her a slightly wider margin in the field. Aside from that it was a little rough settling in with the group, some of them being practically children in comparison. Although she had joined them, Caitlin still devoted much of her spare time into finding a cure to her condition, which what one of her former villain friends took advantage of after learning she went full hero. She was lured out with promising data, that they had an almost finalized cure. She was too trusting in the former comrade and overly optimistic to even think that it wasn't a trap. It was a thinly veiled attempt to recondition her into villainy, one which she was extremely unappreciative of. Caitlin captured and turned them in, firmly making a decision that she shouldn't let her condition or the quest to cure it, rule her life.
Role Play Sample:
Caitlin was nervous for the first time in a long time, she wasn't just about to just talk to a bunch of regular people. These were hardened criminals, some of which she once called friends. It was also being here at Belle Reve not as an inmate but as a guest that weirded her out. After a few minutes she was signaled to enter the jail's auditorium, a number of inmates purposely spaced seats apart with guards on hand to keep things under control. She could feel the intense stare of some of them the moment she stepped onto the stage. She bit her tongue and approached the podium, readying up a slideshow. But before she could even speak. "Go back to blowing The Flash you frosty bitch!" Someone called out from the dark hall. Caitlin briefly hesitated but focused to begin her presentation. "My name is Caitlin Snow, though some of you may remember when I once called myself Killer Frost. An unfortunate choice of name." She began as she began going through slides. "I'm not some bleeding heart or girl scout, so if that's your mindset you can shove it up your ass and leave now." She spit in a way that almost evoked her old self, surprising everyone by her slightly abrasive approach. "I don't know about all of you. But it's so easy to get lost in our powers, blinded in almost euphoric but torturous state. Some of you are convinced that this is your lot in life, that all you can do is steal, lie or kill." She continued, going on to show a slide that had her brain scans. "I'm convinced that we were just broken, our minds and bodies not ready for such a change or shock. I don't think any of you are beyond redemption if you put effort into it." Caitlin said, momentarily hesitating to display the next slide. It was a video displaying a deeply personal display of her sickness, she looked out at the audience, took in a deep breath and played it for them to see. The video was from a few years ago, when she was first brought to Belle Reve. Killer Frost was using every swear and insult over the sun, practically uncontrollable as they tried to restrain her. The guards backed away as a blast of super chilled air caused her to almost convulse as they applied a newer model of the power dampening collar.
"It's not really a secret that my weakness is the cold, but it also aggravated my condition, making me even more hostile and hungry for heat. I was given a chance not too long ago that changed things, I didn't save the world or anything so grand... but I saved someone from their own powers. It wasn't just that I received so much of dose of heat, but I actually saved someone for once instead of killing them that... it was a reality check." Caitlin said with a slight smile. "I won't lie to you that the road to redemption isn't easy or won't be full of speed bumps, but I'm simply here to ask you to think about your life. Some of you were born this way, powers awakened around puberty or you're like myself and had an accident." Caitlin sighed, taking in a deep breath to finish. "All that I'm here to say is... is this it? Is this all that you are? Are you a product of how you were raised? Your place that you were in society? Blame your powers? Wasn't there anything else you wanted to amount to?" The malcontencious murmuring that started as soon as she started paused as Caitlin was finishing. "I know what you all think of me, a pretentious scientist type, a nerd. I was one of those whiz kids who breezed through school at a young age. But that was also to get away from a broken home with an abusive drunk of a father, so don't think I'm on some high pedestal or I'm here just to make myself feel better. I want you to know that if you reach out, you're not alone and you don't have to lie, cheat or be forced to jump through hoops." Caitlin said as she eyed a few people who had previously been forced in Waller's Suicide Squad. "Thank you for your time, I hope that you'll be brave enough to make at least a step into discovering something other than this." Caitlin then walked off stage, escorted by the guards. After a few moments, one of the guards looked Caitlin over, shaking her head. "Its weird hearing you all normal like... Frost." Caitlin looked down for a moment before sighing. "Weird huh? I guess so. I might not be able to help fully redeem anyone in here, but I'll at least make them hesitate the next time they're about to do something stupid." The guards looked at each other for a moment. "Really weird..." The guard said, continuing to escort her outside.
