Yumichika is a short, lean man, standing just over 5'6" and weighing a sleight 130lbs. His skin is fair, blemish free and always holding the best complexion. His eyes are a deep purple, flecked with thick lashes that add to a face of petite features, making him appear quite strikingly beautiful. Yumichika'a jaw-length hair is inky black and immaculate, with never a strand out of place. He adorns his face with long colourful feathers, sweeping out from his right eyelashes and eyebrow.

General Personality: History:
Yumichika's first memories were of how ugly the world was. He grew up in one of the outer districts of Rukongai, a rough and violent place where strength meant power. The young boy saw thugs and criminals at every corner, and hated it. He wanted beauty, like the shining white tower of Seretei that could be seen miles and miles away.
He learnt to defend himself early on, and also learnt that his views on ugliness and beauty were not shared by many. In fact, most people took offence at his pragmatic dogma. Yumichika felt alone, lonely in his own world. Then he encountered someone who ended that.
It was a day he was confronted by a local gang leader. Yumichika clearly and honestly told him that his ugly face made him sick, and the dozen thugs all drew weapons. Perhaps that would have been the ugly end, if it wasn't for one bald warrior. Madarame Ikkaku, as Yumichika would soon know him, swept in past Yumichika, taking out two in a heartbeat. Yumichika grabbed himself a dropped blade, and the two of them cut through the gang like paper.
Afterwards, battered and bloody, Ikkaku queried why Yumichika hadn't run, or why he had said anything in the first place. He smiled and shrugged. "There's nothing beautiful in cowardice." From then on, the two of them were firm friends.
Yumichika liked fighting, but not as much as he loved watching Ikkaku fight. They travelled Rukongai to find strong opponents, but nobody could stand up to his companion's strength and skill. A few times, Yumichika took up his sword against others, but mostly he simply watched, absorbing the excitement that Ikkaku wrapped himself in when facing a strong enemy.
Then they met someone who Ikkaku couldn't beat. A towering giant who didn't even flinch when he was cut. Ikkaku was felled in a matter of moments, but the man didn't kill him. Instead he told him to come and find him, and fight him again. He had a second chance at life, and if he really wanted to enjoy fighting then he should seize that opportunity. The man was called Kenpachi of Zaraki.
The goal was clear after that. Yumichika and Ikkaku travelled to the Sereteii, where they sought out Kenpachi, who had become the Captain of the 11th. Impressed by their tenacity and strength, he gave them both seats within his squad, bypassing their need to enter the academy. Yumichika discovered his true sword soon after.
He was disheartened when Ruri'iro Kujaka showed itself to be a kido-type zanpakuto, and worked hard to make it a secret even from Ikkaku. He studied Kido, but again away from prying eyes. Ikkaku became the 3rd Seat soon himself, and Yumichika rose to the 5th Seat, 5 being a number he found more beautiful than 4.
During the Ryoka invasion, Yumichika and Ikkaku were the first to encounter Ichigo and his companion Ganju. After an elongated fight, Yumichika was defeated by the latter, after Ichigo defeated Ikkaku. Later, the two of them accompanied Kenpachi to aid Ichigo in saving Kuchiki Rukia, but were intercepted by the 7th and 9th Divisions. Yumichika faced Vice-captain Hisagi and was nearly defeated, but released his true zanpakuto, something he had never done. It meant a lot to win.
After Aizen revealed himself a traitor, Yumichika returned to the Division, where Ikkaku had begun training himself and the whole squad to be stronger. Yumichika had his own weaknesses to work on. He needed to become stronger, and his zanpaku-to was becoming reckless. The smell of War was on the horizon, and he felt the embers of excitement growing within him.

Yumichika is an expert Kido practitioner, though he rarely uses it due to the stigma around it in the 11th Divison. He can use mid-level Hado and low-level Bakudo spells without incantations.
Name: Fuji Kujaku ("Wisteria Peacock.")
True name: Ruri'iro Kujaku ("Azure Peacock.")
When sealed, Fuji Kujaku takes the form of an average katana, with a bronze tsuba in the shape of a German cross. The wrapping is purple, and the sheath fuchsia.
Rui'iro Kujaka is an incredibly vain and arrogant spirit, taking the form of a lustrous peacock that wanders around an expansive, colourful garden. It hates the colour wisteria, and refuses to fully cooperate with Yumichika if he calls it that. Ruri'iro Kujaka holds a lot of the same personality as its partner, and they often clash over who is the most beautiful.

Fuji Kujaka's shikai isn't the true form, but what occurs when the spirit is called by it's hated colour. It takes the form of a sickle-shaped sword, which can split into four identical blades.
"Sakikurue, Ruri'iro Kujaku."
("Split, and deviate.")
Ruri'iro's true form is a multitude of glowing vines that resemble peacock feathers. They ensnare their opponent and, once sufficiently grappled, begin to drain energy from them. Along the vines, beautiful flowers grow as energy is drawn from an opponent, and once they bloom, whoever is ensnared will have all their reiatsu siphoned from them. The flowers can be eaten in order to heal and rejuvenate as well. Once they have drained an enemy dry, Ruri'iro Kujaka seals itself back into an ordinary katana.
