The hallls were particularly busy toward the front of the school due to the news being there. Along with the news, was the hero commission and affiliated heroes. Speed and his newly created SPR were roaming and exploring. This was mainly because Speed's agency consisted of Shiketsu grads, despite being a UA grad himself. "I'll catch up with yall later." The youngest would wave off his sidekicks and agency leader. They'd wave right back and continue to let Speed show them around. While being around them was fun and all, Raiun found himself wanting to break off with the group, so he would. With the principal's blessing, he could walk around just about anywhere so long as his wristband allowed it. He peeked into the classrooms and eyed the kids within. There was a tinge of jealousy. His own high school career was short-lived, mainly due to his overzealous nature. While the shackles of wanting to be great netted him the feat of being the youngest hero, something that a huge bragging right... -he hardly knew anyone his age or had friends for that matter. These kids were bound to have a ton of friends. He wouldn't say it out loud, but he wanted in. Raiun wanted friends too!
"Hmmmmmm...." He'd adjusted his hat, and kept on walking down the halls, in search for a precious victim... - or rather someone he could turn into his friend, whether they liked it or not.

Daichi sat under a tree trying to read his textbook during the break. Normally he'd meet with Tomatsu to try and have a conversation, but the upperclassman was busy with his own work that day. He sat staring at the pages as the words swirled around on them flipping into various languages. Finally, after a few minutes. He had to shut it and sink down on the tree. It would be fine, he wasn't worried about passing written tests for the most part. It was the physical stuff that always got him down.
Staring at his hand, he tried to clench a fist and release it. It barely looked like a fist at all. He had no strength to him what so ever. He knew that would have to change if he really wanted this, but that was easier said then done when motion made him dizzy. There were animals and students all around him giving him a migraine with their conversations. Many of them were training as they talked. Not Daichi. Not only was he not socializing, he wasn't training either. He eyed someone doing sit ups with a partner holding their feet. He had to admit, he was a bit jealous. He couldn't move so freely, nor could he speak freely.
None of this showed on his face, of course. No one really got him... ever... He was fine with that normally, but since getting to UA he almost longed for more people to talk to. He never realized how nice it was to be around his family and be able to talk with them so easily... even if talk wasn't the right word. Instead, he wound up with his hands over his ears and his eyes closed again, curling up in a ball under the tree and just wanting to take a nap and drown out the noise.

Daichi would find himself under a pair of eyes. They'd stare, or rather glare at him. It wasn't certain when Raiun had found this courtyard. In fact, it felt like this school had plenty. The stormy hero spied a kid sitting by his lonesome. It was pretty uncharacteristic of what he had seen so far. Not only that, but it seemed like he wasn't working out or going as hard as the students around him. He was just sitting, now curling into a ball. Raiun almost instantly found himself standing above the boy. Knowing only what he could see, Raiun had found his first vict-friend. BUT FIRST, he had to confirm something, "Do you even want be a hero?"
His face a twisted in confusion. All schools had a few people who were easy to pick out. This person seemed to be one of them. Raiun wanted to know more, at the very least.

Daichi heard a voice that was closer than the others, causing him to open his eyes. Looking up, he say Speed. This kid was a hero right? The prodige that graduated early and become a pro at sixteen. Damn, impressive. But, what did he just say? He let the question cycle until he could understand it. Until it got through, he sat there staring at him.
Once he got it, the young pro just got a nod. Of course he did! He was trying his best! Though, it probably didn't look like it. It was hard to keep focus on him though. All the conversations were still going on with the students. Birds and squirrels chittered about. All of the surrounding conversations swam in his head and circled and cycled and jumbled in his mind. There was the slightest twitch in his face as he tried to keep focused on the conversation at hand. But his head hurt. He had managed to make it through half the day, he just needed to get passed the rest of it before he could lie down again.
Lunch was the worst part of the day though. It hurt. So much. He never even ate during lunch cause he was in too much pain... unless Toma was there to get him eating. As it was, his lunch sat next to him untouched. A squirrel came up onto his leg and asked if he was going to eat his fruit salad. He looked down for just long enough to process and respond with a shake of his head and a chitter that he was going to eat any of it so they could feel free. A few more squirrels and birds came along to pick at it. One sat on his shoulder to check on him and ask if the guy was bothering him. He shook his head again and told her he was just tired. It hopped around on his shoulder for a minute more before joining the others in eating his lunch. He watched them for a bit more before bringing his attention back to the hero.
Finally, he spoke. "Storm." That was his name, right? Storm Surge Panda? That name was too long, there was no way he could get it all out in one language. It took him another few moments to get another word out in Japanese. "Why?" Was there a reason a famous prodige hero wanted to talk to him? He didn't consider himself that interesting.

With arms spread wide, he posed as there were paparazzi swarming him. He'd correct the boy once and only once. "Storm Surge Panda." Returning to a more normal standing position, he- "Panda is what I prefer." A pause would be followed by him close the distance enough to analyze Daichi fully. Hmmph, so this was another representation of UA. Before exploring the school today, Raiun's only understanding of the school was when the schools clashed for big events, and his agency leader was an Alumni. Daichi was neither of those things. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.
"Why don't you look as motivated as everyone else? You nodded yes, when I questioned if you want to be a hero... So what's with this..... energy?" Yes, that would explain it. Energy! Daichi's energy compared to the crackhead energy some of his peers had. It was a hero school, crackhead energy was normal. From fanatics to overzealous types, everyone was excited to become a hero. Raiun was the opposite to Daichi, and by nature was floored when he saw someone as young as him, not killing themselves to graduate. That was 'normal...' -his own normal at least. "Do you find this school annoying or maybe they are over the top?" The young hero had questions galore, all pointed at his new friend. Well... he hadn't even learned Daichi's name yet.

Daichi stared blankly at teh hero berfore him questioning his motivation, not because he was offended but because it was taking him longer than usual to process things with all the background noise. Everything happening around him spun through his head like a constant roulette of google translate that he had to piece together word by word. It was fully exhausting.
When he finally figured out what was being asked, he nodded again and tried his best to speak. He needed to learn to converse with people that were Tomatsu, right?
"Struggle... with... emotions." Hold up... that was Russian. "Emotions." Hebrew. He ended up having to get through Dutch, bird, Hindi, and bear before sighing and reaching into his bag to get his phone. There was too much going on and his head was pounding far too hard to try any more than that.
Unfortunately, in the process he knocked his perscription out of his bag as well and it seemed like last time he took it he didn't screw the cap on right. He stared at the pills now strewn on the ground in front of him, his shoulders dropping ever so slightly to the point of just barely being noticeable. Picking up the extra strength painkillers, he checked how many were still good in the bottle. He counted ten, that was plenty for now. He would have to tell his father what happened to get more.
Either way, that was the issue right now. Putting the cap back on properly this time, he placed the small orange bottle back in his bag and pulled his phone back over to continue his conversation.
I struggle with showing emotions. Always have since I was little. Don't know why, my family are all loud and rowdy like everyone here, but I can't seem to follow suit. I've been like this since before my quirk mannifested. Though, it's admittedly only gotten harder since then.
He sighed before continuing to type.
I promise I am extremely excited to be here. I just have a really bad migraine from my quirk right now. Too many people and animals talking at once. It hurts.
He held his phone up, letting the hero read his words. Seems this kid was a lot more talkative than he let on, just struggled to say what he wanted. Daichi, truly, struggled with a lot of things. His quirk was always more of a bane than a blessing, but he wanted to try and change that. It was why he was there. He wanted to be like the woman who saved his family at the amusement park. He wanted to be a hero and help people. He just... was starting at a disadvantage. Not that he saw it that way, for him being constant pain was just his average way of life. He didn't bother to try and counter act it.

The boy patiently waited for Daichi to orient himself. "No mandarin? Oh okay." He'd joke out loud. It was the only language besides English and Japanese that he knew. Reading from a phone for a conversation was annoying, and the boy become visibily irritated as he read Daichi's words. Pain medication? "A tedious power..." He observed. A thought. As simple as it was, wedged itself into his mind, and now he couldn't get himself to NOT say it. It seemed like a slap-on bandaid fix, as much as the pills were. "Why not just use earplugs to kill out outside noise?" Pointing to Daichi's ears. He didn't know the ins and outs of this boys quirk, but that seemed like the simplest solution.
"Just letting yourself get hit by unwanted sounds seems counterproductive...I'm sure your school can make something for you." He took a before blurting another question. "Lemme guess, you're a first year?"

"Want to.... hear..." Seemed at the mention of Mandrin his quirk slipped into it for just a moment, but on 'hear' moved to French. With another sigh, he resigned himself to his phone again.
I still want to hear what is happening around me. Especially if I want to be a hero, drowning out background noise can be a serious problem. Though... I heard there is a third year who's deaf. Don't know what he does to keep up with everyone else. For me though, even if I did decided to drown out the background, I can't understand non-spoken languages and trying to make a an earplug that can zero in on one specific person's voice at a time where I can choose who that person is would be... difficult.
Daichi let the hero read what he had already before continuing his thoughts. He truly did have a lot to say and could be quite talkative if not for his quirk making in difficult. That and his difficulty with emotions tended to drive people away. One he figured Panda probably finished reading, he continued typing.
My family has tried a lot of things to try and counter act the negatives of my quirk. Ear plugs was one but then I just couldn't hear at all. For now, my perscription is the best thing I have. They at least get rid of the migraines. But even then, they only last four hours. And if I took one every four hours I'd just become hooked on them. It almost happened when I was ten. Mom and dad needed to lock them away in a safe out of reach, changing the combination every dad so no smarter animals like crows that I could ask for him could crack it. I Never want to feel so depenant on anything again. These days I only take them if the pain really becomes too much to handle, or if I really need to focus like during combat and rescue training. That... doesn't really help with the fact that I'm always tired and pretty out of shape though.

Was the support department of this school worthless or something? While zeroing in on one person would be incredibly difficult, it was highly possible to get an electronic earpiece that could change from a sound-deafening frequency to an "aware" frequency. Lots of music headphones had the technology, the school would just need to gear it toward battle. Well, he wouldn't say this out loud for good reason. Getting a handle on his quirk took precedent. Giving gear to a student who wasn't ready was like giving a senstive firearm to a rookie cop. Just not a good idea. Daichi was rather young-looking, and by the sounds of his messages, was probably a first-year. He was a hero student.
Panda squinted at the boy, hissing in Mandarin. "Làngfèi réncái" Language was truly an impressive ability, but his poor mastery of it was maddening for the prodigy. On top of it, Daichi expressed a good chunk of the weight being the medications and aid from mom and dad. Relying on family was out of the window the very second he chose to stay at the dorms. A first year indeed. Daichi needed self-direction and discipline. "Being out of shape is unacceptable." He'd bark like a general. "That's one of the few things that's always in your control. Don't you intend on saving people?" He wasn't a teacher. He wouldn't be able to teach Daichi how to dial in the side effects of his quirk. The most he could think of on the fly was extreme exercise routines and learning how to properly meditate. The more he thought about it. Just like meditation and learning to drown things out, one could teach themselves, focused listening skills. He'd keep his yap shut on these too.
"How bad do you want to reach that goal?" The most important thing he'd ask in this back and forth. Raiun was only considered a prodigy due to his talent, and that talent only came from years of dedicated hard work. He was a pro already because when kids were playing and going on trips, he was in youth programs, and early entrance exams. He WANTED almost more than breathing and to that extant, he wanted to know just how badly Daichi wanted to be a hero. It would be a definin question. Depending on the answer, he'd just walk away or extend a helping hand.

Daichi nodded, understanding what the hero was saying and knowing it was true. He was a rather lazy sort and only started trying to work out a bit two years prior when he first decided he wanted to be a hero. He tries to work out a little every day, but moving is so tiring. He normally only got a slight jog (or what he considered a job) around the first year dorms done after school before the exhaustion of the day would catch up to him. Some days he couldn't even get through that before giving into the pains left from the days work; those days were normally the ones where he actually had physical training during class. Still, he knew he had to try harder if this was really his goal. If he pushed his body forward little by little, it would eventually get better right?
Panda could possibly see the wheels in Daichi's head turning as he stared up at him silently with his blank stare for a long while. After a long time to think, his mouth gave the slightest of down turns in frustration, almost not even noticable if one wasn't starting him right in the face. He finally looked back to his phone and began typing again. He typed for a while, especially considering his speed with texting. Seemed he had a lot to say this tme.
I've been trying to exercise more for a couple years now, but my body seems to give out rather quickly with physical labor. I jog around the first year dorms once most days after school, though am constantly poked at by some of them saying my 'jog' is not what most people consider to be a jog. I know I should start an actually routine, but am not quite sure what a good starting point is. Up until two years ago I've never done any sort of exercise at all. My metabolism has always been good enough that it wasn't needed to stay healthy. However, healthy and in shape I've quickly learned are very different things. That said, starting from zero I knew wouldn't be easy, but no one I knew could really point me to something that wouldn't break me immediately. One has to build themself up slowly right? That's what all the work out tutorials on YouTube said. Otherwise it can really damage their body. So I've been doing my research into that and trying out different things but haven't been able to figure out where the starting line is.
With a sigh, he hit the text to speech button, opting for that instead of making the young hero read the whole thing. As it was being read, he typed up a follow up.
None of this is trying to make excuses... I do REALLY want this. I guess it's more a round about way of asking for advice. You're a full blown hero. The youngest ever. Where did you start?

Raiun reeled back a bit, mainly to try and read the brick wall of text he was presented with. Luckily there was a text-to-talk function. He rummaged through what was said, still displeased with what he had heard.
"No one I knew could really point me to something that wouldn't break me immediately." Those words from Daichi really bothered him. The whole point of something like this was to break him. If this were the case, he was starting at level -5, and not 0. Raiun existed on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. He played a lot as a kid, and found himself with plenty physical talents. When posed with the question, where did you start, he-"If you afraid of being broken, then you've got an even farther way to go than I thought..." He said, looking at Daichi with an arched brow. In all honesty, Raiun was finding it hard to relate. Most kids played as kids. So those migraines got in the way of doing simple fun tasks like playing in the creak, or kickball. To be honest those younger days were the only times the young hero could remember being a true kid. He wouldn't get that time back, but being a hero was what he spent blood, sweat and tears for.
"I started thinking about being a hero when someone saved my life. I was playing around a little too much, and ran into the street after my basketball. A quick swoop in and someone was there to make sure I got hurt. I was 5 years old, and that was all I needed." He rubbed the back of his head. "My mom started it, since she was a hero back in her home country, China. Then I got into a gifted course where I was taught by Speed who didn't have much rank at the time. Then I got into shiketsu and figured out what it took to graduate. It was kind of easy, really. "
"You have the want for it, that I can understand now... it's just..." He couldn't put his finger on it.
