"In fact, it does," Salem said, sounding very serious for all intents. He yawns, stretching himself, taking a few extra seconds on the back legs. Then, he sat down again, eyeing Jamison and his Imp. "Bettering myself, yes, I never claimed I would become perfect; that's silly. Besides, that would drag all the fun out of being a warlock."
Salem would have done so if a cat could raise an eyebrow as he watched the interaction between the imp and his master.
"It was always that way. I've been around a few centuries." Salem replied with a small snort, "and I do also have experience in being the familiar of a witch; her name is Sabrina Spellman, a very charming and powerful witch, even as a girl, you would not believe the things she did... and almost did, like nearly erasing Christmas forever."
The cat watched Jamison with great suspicion and did not like that tone of voice.
"I might not look it, but I am this place's most knowledgeable magic user. I take it seriously because, for once, someone trusts that what I know can be useful. Sure, my current ability to do magic in a practical sense is lacking, but there is nothing wrong with my memories." He straightened himself slightly. " And I try my best to keep everyone on their toes; I see it as part of my many duties. That reminds me... why did you want to see me in the first place?"
