Miyuki did not remember much. He remembered the pain. He had remembered pain for as long as he could remember. While he was being hurried by Umi-chan, Miyuki could only focus on that stinging sensation from his back. It was… familiar? Why would that be familiar? No one had ever stabbed him before. The boy’s attention was caught between processing this and the faintness of his breath. For the first time in a while, Miyuki was cold. Then he had closed his eyes.
When next he awoke, whenever that was, he was in a… hospital bed. He recognized that much. This was hardly the first time he had been sent to an emergency room, but it was certainly the first time he was here because of a Villain. He also saw Umi-chan here. She was hard to miss. He liked that about her. Miss Flashfire was next to her. She was here… too…
”M.. Miss Flashfire?” The boy’s words were weak, followed by a sustained cough. She wasn’t the only one from the Agency that was here. Had everyone come?! It was hard to tell. The room was packed full of scales and horns, plus Umi at his side, looking down at him. Miyuki was no longer cold.
”Did… did we win?” On the TV mounted on the wall, some news thing was playing. He couldn’t make it out, and he didn’t care to. His family was here. That was what mattered.

Flashfire had a strange look on her face. Umi was red-eyed, puffy and withdrawn into herself. She had obviously been crying, and as Miyuki woke and spoke she dove forward, gently grasping Miyuki into a hug. Despite her size, she was incredibly gentle. Flashfire nodded towards one of the other dragons, who switched off the news swiftly. She laid a hand on Umi's shoulder, eyes closed. His classmate moved away, Miss Abyss taking her gently and moving her to the corner.
Flashfire sat herself on the bed beside Miyuki. Her eyes, her would now see, were glistening. She laid a hand on his, not looking him directly in the eye.
"Ah, kid..."
She looked away, then back at him. She gave him a smile, motherly, warm. Flashfire moved her hand to Miyuki's forehead, shaking her head lightly.
"I guess ya don't remember much, huh?"

"......huh?"
Miyuki was still weak, but he managed to show his confusion through his faintness. No, no, that couldn't be right at all. He maintained the expression as Umi stepped forward to hug him. He hugged her back with all his strength, which wasn't much. He was practically a baby in her arms. His eyes glanced to Miss Abyss and the others, and then back to Miss Flashfire. Why did it feel like his heart was in his throat?
"There were those.. villains." The words stumble out of Miyuki's mouth. He had to stop himself from coughing. "They, they got me... but, Umi-chan was there." Miyuki looks up at her again, and he smiles. He tries to puff his chest to show confidence, but it gets stuck in his throat too. He looks back to Miss Flashfire. The dread of the unknown was setting in.
"W-What did I miss?"

"The villains..."
Flashfire paused, frowning, obviously careful as what she would say. She looked across at Miss Abyss, sighed, and turned back to Miyuki. What was better than honesty? It was what she had always taught him. Miss Abyss had her arms around Umi (as best she could, anyway) and was comforting the quietly sobbing girl.
"The villains didn't come across as villains, not on the news, and that's what's bad. Miyuki, all it shows is ya bit a guy. Like ya lost control. Umi told us different, an' of course we believe yer side... but it ain't lookin' good."
Flashfire took a deep breath, squeezing Miyuki's hand tight.
"Listen. They're sayin' yer violent. It's adding fuel to the fire with the whole anti-mutant thing that's been bubblin' recently. U.A.'s under fire, a lot of pressure from these kinda groups to kick both of yer out. Obviously, Terebi and the Dragons are all behind ya, but..."
She sucked a breath through sharp teeth, then smiled.
"It's gonna be a rough fight. I just want ya to know, kid. Yer a Dragon, just like us. We're behind ya all the way."

"Vuh... violent?"
The words were dry on Miyuki's lips. The way Miss Flashfire said it made it sound so bad. Which, maybe it was, but those guys had deserved it... hadn't they? He knew the news was a major load, but surely it wasn't that bad... right? Seeing how all of the Dragons were looking at him, Miss Flashfire most of all, Miyuki couldn't help that he had let everyone down. He had let U.A. down...
On that note, he noticed the school nurse lurking towards the back. How long had he been standing there? Was he going to punish him?! He didn't do anything wrong! The boy started breathing quickly, though short of hyperventilating. His nostrils flared. Already, a dim purple light was simmering within. If he could just get his hands on whoever showed that footage...!!
Miyuki seized, then sighed. What was he thinking?! That would be horrible! The boy's expression waned, and he nodded sullenly. The bout of aggression had passed, replaced by a meek fear that was much more like the boy that Miss Flashfire had pulled out of that burning building. "Uhm... thanks, Miss Flashfire. That, that means a lot. So..." He looked past his foster mother, at Doctor Brine. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop looking at the man. He looked like he wanted something. He always looked like he wanted something.
"So... what happens now? Do I have to go to juh... to jail?"

Dr. Brine contained himself as best as he could. He was on his phone sending messages for the majority of the conversation to be brutally honest. Rightfully so, too. The merchandi- student needed to get transferred back into the school's care. He glared at the boy. They JUST had a conversation... "I told you people are watching... And in your case, you showed the world your ass whether you were right or wrong in the situation."Miyuki was obviously being coddled here by the agency. A reality check was in order. Sadly, the good doctor had plenty of time today. There were people in the room so he'd keep it short. Neither Terebii or his boss would be happy. "NO, you're not going to jail. Since this is so public, UA has to take this backlash on the chin. If you were serious about your efforts to become a hero, you'd understand that your actions have consequences. I guess the first years get taught nothing." He ruffled his own hair in annoyance.
He reeled himself in with a sharp inhale... - though his ire for the boy hadn't subside. Some of his anger was toward Umi. As it stood in the video at least, she was the voice of reason. Why didn't she do more to stop him? The man had to recognize they were just kids, but at the same time... Hero students were held far above other teens their age. "I guess getting stabbed is punishment enough... Regardless, I've already filled out the paperwork for you come back to the school's medical facility. That will at least feel like home compared to this place. " Ah... a spot of good in his rant.

There was a second of silence after Brine finished speaking. Eborsisk inhaled sharply by the television set, his fists clenched together. Miss Abyssal amicable face turned dark and full of shadows as she gripped Umi closer to her, the whale girl with her head on her shoulder. There was a slow, ominous creak as Flashfire rose from the bed, back towards Dr. Brine. Only Miyuki could see her face, and on that face was an expression he would never have seen before, and perhaps would never want to see again. Pure, unfiltered, unrestrained rage. She was there, a second later, face to face with the doctor, so close he could feel her immensely warm breath as she exhaled what could have been licks of flame from her nostrils. Her eyes were pinpoints, staring deep into the man's own with a ferocity that only an angry mother dragon could muster. "'Punishment enough', huh, Doc? If ya weren't a U.A. faculty member, I'd throw yer ass out the window right now. How dare you speak to Miyuki like that!"Flashfire poked a finger into Brine's chest. All of the anger and frustration he felt towards the other two could have fit into the end of that digit, compares to the fury that was boiling and raging inside the pro-hero. "Listen up, Doc. I owe Terebi a helluva lot, and I'll do anythin' for U.A.. That's why I ain't gonna burn you into a crisp. But if I hear that you've been speakin' to Miyuki, or Umi for that matter, like that again... you an' I are gonna have harsher words than this. They're both Dragons, wards under my wing, and I will come down with all the fuckin' fire and flames that I reserve for the biggest asshole villains. Okay?"Umi had started at her name, but Miss Abyss was smiling. Flashfire had nominated another Dragon, it seemed. The Dragons respected bravery, and those who helped their own. Flashfire took a step back, looking Brine up and down with disdain. "Jus' know that I would do anythin' for this kid. I'd burn down this city jus' to find who hurt him. I'm a Hero for Japan, but he comes before anyone else. Got it, Doc?"Flashfire turned away, and the Dragons untensed themselves. She gave the kid another hug, tight and warm. "If anythin' happens. Anythin'. You know where I am, kid. Nothin'll stop me from gettin' to you. But don't forget. Yer a Dragon, through an' through. Nobody can take that fire from ya."Flashfire took his face in her hands, the fury burnt away to reveal the pride of a mother to her son. She kissed his forehead, and rose to her feet, looking at the other Dragons. "You heard the Doc. He's takin' both of them back to U.A., so let's go."
On her way past, Flashfire placed a hand on Umi's shoulder, with a nod and a grin. "I like bravery a lot. If yer need an internship, come 'n' find us. There'll always be a spot ready for ya, honourary Dragon!"The other Dragons stepped out first into the corridor. Flashfire took a breath, one final look at the Doctor. If she said anything more, it might be explosive. So she simply shook her head, and headed out of the room. Umi was by Miyuki's side now, wiping her eyes and putting on a brave smile. Perhaps it was the new title of Dragon that had given her confidence. "It's okay... we're going back to U.A., and we can start training again. Next time we cross paths with a villain, we'll know what to do! I know it! Next time, we'll win for sure"Behind her red-rimmed eyes, Umi's tenacity and determination glistened like stardust. She truly meant it.

What had he said wrong? Nothing said was fraudulent or harsh by his standards... Miyuki needed to hear these things or else he'd bash hard roadblocks and controversy like the most recent events. That was a fact. The logical thing. Was FlashFire not logical? Seemingly not. Whatever trigger he hit when speaking to her disciple, it warded off any semblance of sense from the woman. She got angry and made threats. He held close to no reaction... outwardly at least. In fact, the doctor only looked down at the finger pointing into his chest. The only thing achieved from her verbal assault would be a raised eyebrow. She would storm out before, he could get a word out. With a deep sigh, his eyes drifted to Miyuki and Umi. Despite the hot air blown his way, the doctor was calm... smiling even. This entire situation was pathetic. No wonder Miyuki found himself here... look at his biggest example. A short lesson was in order.
He'd hold one hand up, representing Miyuki's situation. "I'd like you to think about the situation you're in. You flipped your lid and bit someone. Right or wrong, you lacked discipline... resulting in public backlash." Comparatively, he'd hold another hand out, representing Flash Fire outburst just a few moments ago "and imagine if a camera were in the room while a pro hero threatened to throw me out of a building window, among other things, and burn down the very city she protects. The situation would be exactly the same." Neither hand dropped below the other in this figurative scale. Now that both were in perspective, he'd begin drawing a distinct line of separation. In fact, it'd be easy for both Umi and Miyuki to see what he was getting at. "This profession is much more than arresting villains and saving people. It's about priorities, discipline, and plenty other things." Now that he was describing more, the hand holding Flash Fire's situation would slowly drop, while the Miyuki hand stayed level. "You both lack the discipline to restrain yourselves." The hand holding her situation would fall lower because- "She should know better... as an adult," lower, "as a hero," lower, "and as you mentor." He couldn't get his hand any lower. "Plainly put, you've unconsciously mimicked what you see from her, and look where it has gotten you. An agency is ultimately your decision, but I advise you to take an honest look at who you look up to, why, and how it will affect your growth. Has being a hot head like her helped you or hurt you, Miyuki?" Holding both hands behind him now, he looked to only Umi this time. "Please take what I say into consideration as well. This affects you too. It affects all of us." Now addressing them both, he- "I'll retire the conversation with this... as I'm sure you both are plenty tired... -Whether I've been harsh or not, please reflect on your decisions. Hold yourself to a higher esteem as young heroes, and make sure to challenge yourelves to make the right decisions going forward. If you cherish your life as UA students, it won't be a simple slap on the wrist every time something goes wrong." He'd turned and begin toward the door, stopping just short of walking out. "I'll give you both some time to gather yourselves... In the meantime, I'll get our car prepared. Please be ready, by the time I get back." He'd be gone soon after passing Miyuki one last glance. The good doctor would allow a deep sigh to escape him as he stood by the hospital sign. He stared at his watch. A black sedan was supposed to have arrived ten minutes ago...
