Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance: Standing at 6'4, Ma has refined his once skinny and pathetic frame into that of a crime-fighting soldier. Despite existing as a disheveled mess, it's clear as day he puts a great amount of work into his athletic build. He's a lot less pale, the bags under his eyes are a tiny bet smaller(he still struggles with staying up too long). His eyes are a bright amber, and have a cross in the pupils. Scar litter his body as a showing of just how much he trains.
Civilian Clothes: He doesn't go outside much on his days off. In fact, he will just throw on anything big and comfy.
Hero Outfit:
A black suit with specialty metallic armor plating to protect from heavy impacts. He takes gel to spike his hair up and out of his face to provide the "cool" exterior that the public craves.
Support
Utility Belt // Custom Weapons
Water Capsules- small spherical pods that can crack open for a drink of water.
Knife-point brass knuckle - Brass knuckle with spikes that extends an inch and a half passed the pinky . They are not actually sharp, and are meant to be jabbed into an opponent's muscle and bones with a lot of force to cause bruising. The painful sensation is very similar to getting stabbed and provides extra use outside of throwing hard-knuckled punches.
Caution Tape and Tape bombs-These are binding wraps that are held in bundles on his utility belt. They handle exactly like canon binding wraps, though they are designed to look like caution tape. He uses them to aid in his maneuverability, but mainly to subdue villains with crafty wrapping techniques. With proper manipulation from the user, they can easily pop and trap a foe with the tug of a few fingers. They are usually neatly rolled for use. He also has preknotted bundles(tape bombs) wound up so tightly that they expand greatly on impact and can constrict with an easy tug at certain spots.
Personality
Bad Habits:
His personality is heavily contrasting. He aims to be an upbeat and highly motivated hero, but he still retains a great deal of his easygoing and lazy ways.
Complains... A LOT
Smacks while eating
No filter, even in important situations
Goal: To become the greatest hero of all time.
General Personality:
Mayoi is a reasonable guy but laziness would be the operative word when describing him. He operates with the mindset of ease over logic, ease over duty, ease over emotions. Interestingly enough, one of the only things he works incredibly hard on is training, and honing his skills. In his mind, this is greatly within bounds of his ideology as the stronger he gets, the easier it is to deal with threats. He is self-serving and keen on making decisions quickly and without much wavering. As a former shut-in, he still prioritizes making it home above all else and will administer deadly force if he feels like his life is in danger. He sees other heroes as inspirations to learn from, but has an insatiable amount of envy when it comes to those who are highly ranked. They are a wealth of experience that can't be replaced. To an extent, he sees villains as valuable sources to learn from, just like heroes. He believes a well-rounded hero should be just cunning and sly as the fiends they try to catch.
As he spent a great deal of time hiding from the world, he is quite set in his ways and is gradually making the changes to be a better person. The want to be a better person also includes his greed for growth and ranking. Because of this, he formulated a new persona known as Speed to entice sponsors and gain popularity through a fake bravado. Speed is his bravery, his pride as a hero, his want to win. Speed is a hero who can handle the pressures of heroing, and can survive in this treacherous world on his own two feet. It's been 10 long years of heroing, and he's made a way to bridge the gap between ideal and reality. This personality is practically married to his suit, and these aren't just ideals anymore. He finally embodies majority of what he made Speed to stand for. He is just as much the hero Speed as he is Mayoi. In fact, if he were a bit more self-aware, he'd realize that always was the case.
Personal Life
Mother: Miyahi Toei (Quirk: Smooooth, Specialty Cleaner for Hero Costumes, and Seamstress)
Father: Noda Arau (Quirk: Slick, Specialty Cleaner for Hero Costumes)
Siblings:
Quirkless Twin, Yayoi Arau (Manager of laundromat chains)
Extended family:
Grandfather, Noda Sr. (Slick, Owner of laundromat chains)
History:
A young boy sat in front of the tv. Old dirty plates and trash were scattered across his floor. In this sea of mess, there was only a spot for him and his reruns of The Resolutes. Oh how he wished he could be them. His father entered the room, and he'd point. "Can I become something like that one day?" His father was a bit shocked. It was the only thing the boy took interest in. The family already had close ties to U.A. and Hero Society. The Arau name was known for bringing even the most beat super suits, back to their prime. It took a skilled cleaner, and a good quirk to do so. Could a soapy quirk really be all that useful for a hero? They'd have to bet on Mayoi. from a long line of soap quirks, Squeeky Clean was far more refined. The Arau would take their talents to tokyo and bet on their son's future.
Tokyo was in very close proximity to U.A. over in Musutafu, and the family would often take trips just to check out hero museums, and let Mayoi get inspired. The boy finally was getting a sparkle in his eye, the same one all kids who dream have. It would be his first year of high school that he got in with a special reccomendation, sadly it was only valid for the business course or support course. He'd have to work his way up. The boy was so green when it came to the kids who came from Hero Royalty, the kid Benjiro especially. There were even geniuses like the little detective girl. It was the Sports Festival's grand race that he was able topple a good portion of both 1a and 1b. Even in the calvary battle, toppling other kids' pyramids was a complete piece of cake. The slick liquids of Squeeky Clean were proving more useful then he ever dreams. Then came the 1on1 battles... In less than 3 seconds, hero course 1a's Strive knocked out support course's Ma-kun in almost an instant. When he came too, he never cried so hard in his life. The embarrassment was too much to bare. Upon not being allowed to advance just yet, Mayoi's attendance dropped dramatically.
"It's YOUR fault, BENJIRO Yuruginai" The words escaped his lips countless times, as he forced himself to train. He couldn't react because he wasn't fast enough. He couldn't block because he wasn't strong enough... He knew very well what his faults were, but it was Strive who killed his chances of becoming a hero. A stupid kid from the Resolute Family... the people he idolized. It's what made it sting the most... He relentlessly watched replays of the 3 second bout from his room.Sweat dripped off of his face as he did push up after push up... squat after squat.
"Hey, man! We didn't see you at school, we were getting worried." The boy had the audacity to knock at his dorm.
"We? I don't have friends. You shouldn't worry about someone you've already stepped on." Mayoi didn't even look the boy in the eyes. His pride wouldn't let him. He was speaking through the crack of the ajar door.
"Ugh... okay. Just wanted to say it was a good match." What was good about it? This was pity if Mayoi had ever heard of it. Of course the Resolute's kid would win the sports festival. Why wouldn't he? He wouldn't be able to understand the plights of a nobod- "C'mon, Mayoi. Please just come back to class. The teacher even said, if you work hard enough, you can make it to Class 1B!" The door would slam in Benjiro's face. Why did he even care? Should he have been more concerned about family matters?
This small reaching out was enough to get Mayoi back in school, but one thing was for certain. He HATED Benjiro Yuruginai. That damned boy was the only person to congratulate him when he finally made it to 1b. He was nothing to write home about. He was quite average among his classmates, the talk of the school had ALWAYS been Strive this, Moonbeam that... The difference between geniuses and an average joe were crippling. Their year 2 sport festival would have to be the day! This time both Strive and Ma-kun tied for the race. The damned number 1 student had gotten that much better in such short time???To make matters worse, Gigabyte thwarted Ma-kun's streak in the calvary battle, killing his chances of even trying for a rematch. The hero course was full of ruthless kids aiming for the top-ranked spots. What made them so much better? Instead of retreating, he sought time to train. This was more of an extremist sulking session. If he couldn't get into the 1on1s then he'd train until failure.
With trophy still in hand, a familiar fast raced by in search of something or someone. "DUDE, I really wanted a rematch. I'm sorry it couldn't happen." Mayoi was completely shocked. The boy was worried about a low difficulty rematch, when he had just won!??! Did this kid not have a heart? Mayoi's was breaking. Choking up, he-"You won already, why can't you let a loser lick his wounds? I lost before even getting a chance to fight you properly."
After a long pause, Benjiro responded. "You can challenge me next year. It's a promise from one friend to another. You have to promise to get stronger though!" He'd reply with a big smile.
Quirk
Name: Squeaky Clean
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: His quirk gives the user the ability to emit, spew and secrete a specialty fluid from their body. This specialty substance can easily be manipulated by the user, either changing it's shape, consistency, and solidity. This liquid is its own phenomenon because its properties mimic soap, but it is not soap. It possesses a boiling and freezing point like water but does not exist as a gas.(It can only dry) It can exist as a solid, a "whipped" state of being, or liquid depending on the users choosing. It's generally quite cool to the touch, and unimaginably slippery. The most notable quality is that it thoroughly sterilizes and cleans whatever comes in contact with it.
Supermoves:
Fresh Body - By coating himself in a Squeaky Clean overlay, the user becomes almost immune to physical strikes and projectiles. Direct blow become grazing blows, and grazing blows become complete misses. Blades, and some elemental user are able to bypass this liquid overlay. Additionally, he can craft weaponry and shapes from this overlay. It's signature use is "Showtime Speed" in which the user coats themselves to build up speed and momentum for slippery enhanced travel.
Whipped Nozzle- This liquid does not possess a gaseous state, but it does possess an almost shaving cream-like state. Spewing or secreting this cleansing white foam is incredibly messy and can coat whatever it touches with ease. It thickens just as quickly as it dries, and becomes sticky like gel. This versatile whipped substance is an excellent fire extinguisher, and trap to lay for enemies or a fast-acting sticky cushion for civilians.
Solid slick - a Squeaky Clean barrier using the quirk in its solid form. This allows for makeshift slippery barricades/barriers, weapons, or constructs. Combining Solid Slick and Fresh Body allows for a full body armor. Accompanying Showtime Speed is his secondary signature, "Showtime Solid", the powerful solidified strike once he gathers enough momentum, power, and speed.
Team Showtime's Combination Moves
"It's Showtime, Speed Shot!"-Requesting to be launched with Gearshift from the hero Strive, Speed will turn himself into a speeding human bullet with his Showtime Solid technique. It's great for wider space, but takes far more coordination in enclosed spaces.
"It's Showtime, Strive Rebound!"- By making slippery surfaces for Strive's sheild to slip and bounce off of, the two can forcibly change the direction of his speeding shield projectile, gifting the slick rebounding effect of an air hockey puck. This move requires a great deal of coordination in wide open areas, but is at its peak in an enclosed location.
Drawbacks:
-Like water, it conducts electricity and can be a hazard against lightning quirks.
-Its greatest asset is water outside of combat, as one can easily cleanse anything. The quirk itself is water soluble, making water it's biggest enemy on the elemental chart.
-Prolonged use can lead to symptoms of dehydration and fatigue. Extreme overuse will require immediate hydration, possibly cause dizzy spells, and likely require medical attention.
-He forever smells of pine, or mint depending on his diet.
Fighting Style: Mayoi is a heavy-handed striker, who combines unorthodox mobility, and premier quirk usage to practice dive tactics on foes. He can move quickly without objects deterring him with his slippery quirk, this allows him to slip, slide and glide across the battlefield with confidence. Being a shut-in has allowed him to watch a great deal of hero film. There are certain moves he will directly copy from known heroes in order to get the upper hand. He operates well as a decoy, or main striker and can interchange between the two seamlessly. This makes him an elite assist in duo situations, and a proper role player in larger hero teams.

Reminiscing
It was like it all happened yesterday. That sports festival fight... Speed vs. Strive. Even when the school got targeted, the two worked together for the first time as Team Showtime. It was all the rage in school, enough to get him considered in his year's big 3. Realistically it was far smaller than that. That graduating class was one of the finest lineups of heroes, noted as the Resolute generation. Being the weakest of a big 3, and standing next to the top foreign exchange students Sizzle and King in a compound graduation ceremony... it was sickening. Was his life all about rivals? He just wanted a top spot for himself for once. They didn't even go to U.A. and were considered the best.
"The Resolute Generation of Heroes huh?" A rank 999 Ma-kun sat in his chair watching reruns of his glory days in U.A. He'd fallen into a depression, so much so that he dropped ridiculously low after getting a modest rank of 150. He inspected his hero license as if it were foreign to him. Had he really earned this? There was a knock at the door.
"DUDE! We didn't see you at the hero summit. Hell we haven't seen you for months, we were getting worried..." It brought back so many memories to here that. Contrasting to the nasty de ja vu, Ma let his old buddy in. They'd talk about what they'd been up to. "I'm really gonna do it. It's not far... that number 1 hero spot. I can almost see it over the horizon!" Ma weakly nodded. His passion was dwindling in comparison. The big 3... The schools shining sun, Strive. The cool and witty moon of U.A. Moonbeam. Then there was him, the person with the least expectations. The one voted most likely to drop out in the yearbook, but also most improved... Speed... U.A.'s humble earth. How could compare amongst giants? They were the real heroes, he was just a guy who got lucky.
"Come on patrol with me. Team Showtime needs to have an official appearance. Ya know..., since we're both real heroes now!" He hadn't changed one bit. Mayoi would oblige, and let it get his gears going again. He paid too much attention to others. Nobody started from the same point... and yet he let certain facts allow him to waver. Speed was just as good a hero as any other, he just had to work at his own pace. He made sure to do what he could in the years to come. Slowly but surely he'd climb the steep ladder and hone in on his goal of becoming the greatest.
Before he knew it, 10 years blew by. He glanced at his license as he listened to the tv blaring. Everyone from the Resolute Generation had reached some serious prominence except for him. And he was fine with that, he was working at his own pace. Some sponsor money finally rolled in, and he made a proper name for himself. There wasn't a ton of merch, but he had fans. He looked down at his license once more. He was finally in the top 50. He'd send a text to a buddy.
"Dear Sun,
I'm really gonna do it. It's not far... that number 1 spot. I can almost see it over the horizon. I will become the greatest one day.
- Earth."

Name: Squeaky Clean
