Strange gave Sun Nao a sad little smile. The kid had been through a lot, but still full of the innocence of youth. He looked towards James, shrugging slightly.
"If you only take one thing away from your studies here, it's to always be ready for the unexpected, kid. Always prepare for the worst, and you'll still be ready for everything else. Don't let your guard down just because it's quiet. The eye of the storm can trick even the most experienced of us."
He rose, taking his expresso and motioning to Sun Nao with a quivering hand.
"Of course, James. The Sanctum is yours for as long as you need. If you need anything else, then just call my name. I'll hear you. Come on, kid, let's leave James to the whims of the Library. You want to see whales? I'll show you whales."
Strange grinned, mischief glinting in his eyes, turning to head back out through the entrance.

A pained look crossed James's face for the briefest of moments at the mention of letting his guard down before the mask of indifference returned. James would never do that. He had learned the hard way to strip away such foolishness. Always on guard, always prepared. His family had made sure of that. Hypervigilance was exhausting both physically and mentally, but it was better than dying or worse. He could not imagine how Agwé, Tam Kung, Susanno, Poseidon, or any of the other entities that claimed the seas as their realm would react to the Sorcerer Supremes' journey into their realm. A thought crossed his mind,"How many of those entities were actually separate beings?" It wasn't unheard of for such beings to change their name depending on the culture they were interacting with, or to masquerade as other beings. It created a truly twisted web that was difficult to parse. James eyes watched as Dr. Strange and Sun Nao left, waiting for them to leave. He continued reading his book, learning about other seventh sons who had come before him. Once he was certain Dr. Strange and Sun Nao were gone, he closed the book, letting it rest on the table. He looked out amongst the book shelves. He let power flow into him and spoke,"If there is something you want to tell me or something you want to show me, then please do so." His voice was filled with an authority that was not entirely his own. James was not entirely sure who his words were aimed at. He was uncertain if Athena could even manifest more clearly here, or if perhaps the very library would respond. Either way, he would get to the bottom of why Athena had drawn him towards Strange.
