"Now, young Heroes! Today is possibly the most important lesson of your time here at U.A.! It's time to choose your Hero Names!"
Thunderclap, the energetic old retired pro, clapped his hand together with a grin. He loved these lessons, allowing the students to really think about what drives them. It was about thought, creativity and soul.
"For example, our Number One Hero! He is Strive, the Symbol of Peace! Or something more literate, such as Giga Bite, the Beetle Hero! Or something with some flare? Slumberland, the Knockout Hero! Choose carefully, young ones. This is the name and title you will take with you into your career as a Pro-Hero! So says I, Thunderclap, the Shocking Hero!"
The class was full, both 1-A and 1-B occupying a larger classroom. All the students had a small whiteboard and a pen before them. They had to choose a name, and a title to go with it, something that came from the heart, the mind, or both. Thunderclap watched them in earnest as they wrote out what the world would call them after they received their licenses.
Umi was first, rising to her feet and standing before the class. She lifted her board to show what was written there.
"My Hero name is something I knew from when I was little... I will be Blue, the Ocean Hero!"
As Umi sat, Yoichi rested her head in her hands, staring at the empty board. Lady Daikyu... it was the name her mother had told her to use. It was the name of a weapon, a title of someone who was going to be the best... but was it what she, Yoichi wanted? She frowned hard, pen hovering over the board. Is it the kind of Hero that Yoichi wanted to be?

As soon as Thunderclap had announced today's topic for the class, Karin had immediately set to work on her whiteboard. Her movements were steady and methodical, the decision on this particular subject already having been decided long ago. Though, for someone already with an answer in mind, it seemed to take the girl a bit longer than one would expect to write it down, but the reason for that became clear upon standing up after Umi had taken the initiative. Karin had almost completely covered the whiteboard in black, leaving only her answer unblemished in the negative space.
"My identity will be known as Vanity, the Unseen Hero. I do my best work when my missions go unnoticed." Karin's kind but piercing smile made it apparent that she would not be providing any further explanation, nor would she be fielding any questions to elucidate on her decision. Her light and delicate voice made for a sharp contrast with the slightly ominous undertones, but took her seat regardless and passed the floor to whoever wanted to speak up next.

Well Koito was prepared for once. This whole time, he was thinking of Wayward. It was a name his family came up with together... they'd jokingly call him the lost hero. Quickly wiping the board clean, he couldn't help but feel like this wasn't truly him. Instead, he'd pass a smirk to Yoichi, and stand up with his chest out as he always did. Rather than writing his idea down, he-" Koito, the number one hero." He laughed while he said and was dead serious despite his goofy smile. A lot of the kids would laugh at him because of it, and he wasn't going to change himself for other people's standards. He was Koito and as a hero was going o deliver, well... KOITO.

Hero names, huh...? He thought that 'Night-Wing' was more than sufficient, but Yoru figured that a title to go along with the name itself was also something required. He'd chug down the last of his coffee from the paper cup before he'd get to work on thinking of something. He tapped his pen along his chin a few times, just thinking of what could go well with Night-Wing as a name and title combo. 'The Nocturnal Hero'? Nah, too on the nose... too obvious. 'The Sonic Hero'? Well he had sonic attacks as his main forte, but that didn't fit with 'Night-Wing'. He mumbles and mutters to himself a few times, before he begins to let his mind wander off to his family... to his dad. What would he had wanted? No, he'd probably just tell him he'd be proud of whatever title... then it hit him.
Rapid scribbling was heard from Yoru's seat as he wrote down his hero-name and title, and then nodded to himself after giving it a twice-over, before he'd stand up proud and join up next to Koito, holding his whiteboard up.
"I've chosen my Hero Name to be... Night-Wing, Son of the Night. Incase any of ya know... my dad is a rather famous nocturnal hero, Abyss. And I want to keep my memory of my old man with me, even when he inevitably passes away. So I will stand proud as his son. The 'Son of the Night'."

Sicily stared at her whiteboard for what seemed like an eternity. She had already settled on a name but this name was borne out of pride and the need to keep that woman appeased. It sickened her. It reminded her of her earlier self wherein she was simply acting out and being needlessly hurtful to others. Gorgon, The Proud Serpent Hero. Ugh. It turned her stomach just thinking about that wretched title.Sicily had changed since then and gained more control. Gorgon. Greek myth about a creature whose gaze can petrify. Whose name origins meant grim or dreadful. But those weren't terms associated with heroes.
But maybe...it didn't need to be like that for the public. Her eyes squinted. Avernus and Stella eyed Sicily quietly as if conveying helpful vibes. What was she? What did she do? She was strong and flexible. She wasn't as fancy as Emitter types but she had her own brand of looking glamorous. She could do alot with her Quirk. She lightly chuckled as she took the writing implement in hand and jotted something that came to mind.
She set the tool down and looked at the title. It sounded silly but to her, it sounded right. Apt, even. Asp, even. She giggled at her own pun. She should try that on Kitana...and the new friends she had made. They needed a supporting limb but she only had two hands. She didn't have enough for them all. But then she realized and looked at the name again. She smiled resolutely. Yes. This was the title she wanted.
The girl arose steadily with the name emblazoned on the board alongside the title she had decided for herself. Sicily looked at each of the first years as the board was lifted by Avernus and Stella. "Gorgon, The Myriad Hero....my snakes are many as are the people I intend to protect. Any villain that dares try to challenge me or threaten them will be petrified by my gaze of determination." She sounded assured of herself. No one behind her to approve or disapprove. It was her choice. But she still looked embarrassed as she rubbed the back of her neck and smiled. The hardened Sicily smiling. It was a sheepish one at that.
And then she sat down quietly. Avernus and Stella exchanged looks and then laid eyes on a dreamy-looking Sicily whose thoughts were dancing with newfound possibility.

Ondori stood up atop his desk, standing over others as he made it clear who he was. "I AM ROOSTAR! YOUR RISING SUN HERO!" The curly orange feather head of a boy shouted so that all could hear, turning around as he showcased his sign. In the short time that others had introduced himself, Ondori had managed to decorate his board as well, the board showing the rising sun with morning rays illuminating the name ROOSTAR. "I chose the name Roostar because of my quirk, as well as the fact that I'm going to be a rising rockstar! I'll be the most popular hero who can sing, save lives, and ROCK OUT!" He declared, puffing his chest out. "If anyone thinks they can be better than me, they can try! I'll just kick their butts, and I'll kick the butts of any villain who tries anything stupid!" In a quick motion he raised his leg up in a mock kick, only there was evident force behind it, giving a bit of wind as Ondori's mutation was a bit more evident with a small spur on his heel, if the feathers on his head didn't already give it away. "More than that though..." He finished, lowering his leg as he shifted from cocky to a bit more stone faced; "I want to work on making other mutants feel accepted.... I'm a mutant myself, and there are plenty of mutants where I was raised. I want to make a place for them to feel protected, even from people who would hate mutants just because they're different. Sometimes we just can't help ourselves ya' know? I should know... I've.... uh..." He paused and blushed, his feathers turning to a fro before he admitted, "Sometimes I get a bit too aggressive for no reason or stuff... I'm trying to get ahold of it.... Just think of my aggression as competitiveness or something... I think that's what Giga Bite was saying or something..." He stated, frowning a bit as he tried to seem humbler than he was. Sitting down, he seemed very proud of himself, perhaps even vain, but his actions in the entrance exam of taking on the Giant Robot for a short period of time showed that he was quite strong, and that his boasts likely weren't just for show. "I just want to be a hero for a new age where I can stand tall and proud to be a mutant hero. Plus I'm making a band if anyone is interested... just saying."

"The Ocean Hero! Good, it's a good idea to have a theme. The Unseen Hero, how ominous! That will strike fear into any villain's heart! The Number One Hero..."
Thunderclap paused. Koito didn't choose a hero name, but he had a solid, if not cocky, title. He grinned.
"That is a name you will have to live up to, my boy! In all aspects of your studies and beyond! There can be no slacking for the Number One! Hmm, who is next, ah... Son of the Night! A perfect name, and honours your father perfectly."
Thunderclap clapped his hands together, before waiting for the next.
"The Myriad Hero, hmm? Very interesting! It shows you know what kind of Hero you want to be! Now-"
Thunderclap winced as the voice deafened him. He poked a finger in his ear as Oondori finished.
"Yes... the Rising Star Hero! A strong name, and a strong sense of your goals. People love a Hero with a side-job too! Now then..."
He nodded at the next. Yoichi was at the podium, frowning at what she had written. Was this right? Her mother had chosen the name Lady Daikyu for her. Now she was taking another step away from that. What kind of Hero could Yoichi be? What name defined her? She looked up, locking eyes with Koito. There was a strange expression there, hard to read. She took a deep breath, flipping the board to reveal what she had written.
Yoichi The Nock Hero
She felt her face growing hot as she lowered her gaze, then clutched the board to her chest and sprinted back to her chair, avoiding the gaze of the other students. Thunderclap clapped his hands again with a grin.
"Ah... an archery term, fitting with your theme! Another good one, young lass! Who is next?
