Personal Information
Name: Maverick (Mavvy) Haze
Alias(es): None
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Race: Half Mimic
Pitch: Maverick is a very popular voice actor for all sorts of cartoons, anime, and movies. The fact that he can mimic any voice or language after only hearing it once is a big plus for directors and producers. The issue is he never actually developed a voice of his own. Maybe going to a normal high school for once instead of being homeschool will help him with that.
Genre:
School and Slice of Life
Affiliations:
Buster High School Second Year
Buster Dreams Talent Agency
Background:
Maverick’s dad knew he was destined for greatness when he started talking far earlier than the other kids. His mother was a mimic who could change her shape, voice, and appearance to match another person’s perfectly. She had passed in child birth, but had explained to her husband that typically a mimic child would be born as a sort of blob and take on the appearance of an infant for whatever the first thing they saw was. When Maverick was born looking human from the start, Luka figured he hadn’t inherited anything from his mother’s side.
Boy was he wrong. Maverick started mimicking his father like a parrot at only two months. When he was six-years-old he started mimicking character’s on TV. And when his dad saw an ad looking for a child actor to play the lead in a new cartoon and asked his son if it was something he’d like to try… well… Maverick LOVED cartoons. The rest was history.
He got the gig easily since he was able to listen and imitate exactly what the director wanted. From there he blew up and became an over night sensation. He started appearing in all sorts of cartoons, movies, and TV shows. Eventually, he moved on the live action as well, but always loved and preferred voice acting. The life of a child actor was exciting and he loved every minute of it. Being a bit of an attention whore worked nicely for him and he was able to help his father retire earlier from his hard carrier as a construction worker.
Still, there was something Maverick longed for that he just couldn’t recognize until he got older. When he hit the age of fifteen, he was asked in an interview if his voice was actually his. The interviewer was clearly just a dick journalist look for some drama to put in their story and slander Maverick, and while he answered in smoothly and diverted the question it really through him for a loop. Was it? How did he sound really? Was he just mimicking what he heard every time he spoke? If he thought for himself, could he have a voice all his own? Did he already? He suddenly wasn’t so sure. At the time, he was playing in a slice of life cartoon that took place in a high school. All the characters were so lively and had their own personalities, thoughts, adventures and stories to tell. It was something Maverick felt he was sorely lacking. So, when the recording for the show was over, he asked his father, who had become his manager, if he could take a break and tried just being a normal teen for a year. He wanted to see if going to school would help him find the self he felt he was missing. And that’s how his new story began. He’s excited to see where it takes him.
