Name: Julian Miller
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Birthplace: Sydney, Australia
Faction: Titans
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Appearance: Julian has the physique one would expect of a solider. His body is well defined and muscular, the result of long hours of training. He has dedicated his life to the military and desires to be ready to defend himself anywhere and everywhere, especially when outside of a Mobile Suit. His skin is caucasian in tone, his eyes a bright blue, and his blonde hair often appears wild and unkempt as his his natural style rather than any lack of trying to keep it together.
More often than not, Julian is seen wearing the standard uniform of the Titans. As a soldier to the core, his uniform is always kept as immaculate as possible as if he always is prepared for an inspection, it featuring the black and reds that are the hallmarks of the Titans. He will wear the standard beret of the Titans on occasion but will typically go without. His normal suit is likewise the Titans’ standard though the side of his helmet bears a medieval-style Griffon in read, the sigil he has carried since the One Year War.
Personality: Julian has always been considered a bit of an odd duck. While generally known as a kind individual, he has a calm demeanor which can sometimes border on emotionless or apathetic. Underneath all of this lies a bed of intensity for once Julian has decided to accomplish something there is nothing that will stop him from doing so. His concentration on an objective can sometimes seem obsessive, something that has worried his fellows in the past. Still, none can question Julian's dedication to those on his team and he often takes on a somewhat paternal/mentor-like role with his subordinates. This is not to say the he sees himself as above them. On the contrary, rank means little to a man who sees his teammates as equals.
Since the death of his parents and fiance in the infamous Operation British and his father during Operation Stardust, Julian has gone to a dark place in his mind. A former hatred towards Zeon transformed itself into harsh feelings towards all Spacenoids. In his mind, most if not all of them are culpable for the chaos and death that has engulfed the Earth Sphere since 0079. He sees his membership in the Titans as the best way that he can eradicate the remnants of Zeon and ensure that the people of Earth are never threatened with annihilation ever again.
History: Julian comes from a military family and it should come as no surprise that even from a young age he had resolved himself to enlist. When the time finally came, his parents were fully supportive of Julian's membership in the Earth Federation Forces. From his first day in basic, Julian could not have been happier, driven by the challenges set against him.
The real wake-up moment came when Julian was placed into the cockpit of a FF-S3 Saberfish for the first time. It was a transformative experience and left the young Australian quickly addicted to the sensation. Whether it was flying the the skies of Earth or in the void of space, Julian felt truly free for the first time. It was also during his time training to be a pilot that Julian met his closest friend, Harry Shields. Forming a deep bond with his comrade over their shared love of flight, the two of them had a level of natural chemistry together that enabled them to become superb pilots and the pride of their squadron. Now all that Julian needed was an enemy to test his skills against.
The outbreak of the One Year War gave him that chance. His first taste of real combat would be during the infamous struggle that would become known as the One Week Battle. At one point near the climax of the battle, Julian’s squadron was preparing to sortie as he had one last chat with his fiancee and mother when the video feed suddenly cut out. While at first he had believed it was due to Minovsky Particle interference, it was only later that he learned the truth. The call had ended because the colony being dropped by Zeon had missed its target and had instead hit his hometown of Sydney. His mother and the love of his life were gone, wiped from existence by the destruction the falling colony left behind.
Julian was never the same after this tragedy and his life became fully dedicated to ensuring that Zeon paid for what they had done. Hard work and dedication saw him become his squadron’s top pilot and because of his efforts he was eventually reassigned to Earth as the focus of the war transferred there.
Rather than being rolled into the Air Force, however, Julian was surprised by the news that he’d been drafted into the Federation’s experimental Mobile Suit program at the behest of his father, an Admiral within the EFSF. Julian couldn’t have been more proud. He took to piloting a Mobile Suit eagerly alongside his old friend Harry, seeing it as the best way for him to avenge his loved ones. The transition from piloting a fighter-craft to a bipedal towering machine was certainly a hard one but Julian wouldn’t be discouraged.
His first experience of Mobile Suit combat came at the Battle of Odessa. Working alongside Harry, Julian and his GM worked with their comrades to smash apart the Zeon defenses and earned one of the Federation’s first real victories over the invaders. He then found himself transferred to the North American front where he was placed in command of a new unit dubbed the 232nd Mobile Corps, helping lead its efforts to liberate the continent which culminated in the conquest of California Base.
Julian then found himself transferred up into space to finally bring the fight to Zeon’s homeland. Though he was not present during the attack on Solomon, he was there for the ferocious battle at A Baoa Qu. Out of the seven members of his team that deployed into that final battle only himself, Harry, and two others survived the conflict that finally saw the horrible war come to an end. Julian couldn’t help but feel cheated when the news of the treaty that allowed the Republic of Zeon to maintain some autonomy came down, believing that it wasn’t fair that the people of Side 3 were spared the suffering they had inflicted on the people of Earth. The weariness that his comrades felt, however, caused him to keep such thoughts to himself.
The next few years saw Julian and what was left of his team assigned to a task force under the command of none other than his father. Travelling throughout the various Sides that orbited the Earth, they did what they could to hunt down the Zeon Remnants that still refused to give up the fight. In light of all this, slowly but surely the intense hared that had almost consumed Julian began to subside as he came to terms with the death of his love and his mother.
That was when Operation Stardust began. While Julian had at first thought very little of the Delaz Fleet’s little war, he was awakened to the reality of the situation at the doomed Naval Review. A blinding flash of light engulfed the Federation’s main fleet destroying the vast majority in an instant. In the hours that followed Julian and his team once more threw themselves into the fray, fighting a frantic battle against the doomed forces of Delaz fleet including a pitched duel with a Zeon ace that had tormented him and his comrades during the One Year War.
By the time the fighting was over the casualties had been tremendous, the Remnants having been wiped out by the superiors number of the Federation. Still this realization brought Julian no joy. Not only had the enemy successfully dropped a colony on Earth once again but they had also stolen yet more from Julian himself. His father’s ship had been annihilated in the blast and Harry had been killed before the enemy ace had been finished off.
By now any sympathy Julian had for the spacenoids was gone. As far as he was concerned they had harbored the remnants for far too long and had allowed tragedies to occur again and again. They needed to be put in their place, once and for all, if true peace was to be ensured. It was this mindset that Julian found himself recruited into the newly created elite unit known as the Titans.
Julian took to his new duties eagerly, showing a level of coldness that his superiors valued greatly during the more questionable operations. His old team that he had been through so much with was disbanded, all of its members dispersed to separate units with Julian doing little to remain in touch as to numb the pain of the past. As the war against the AEUG began in earnest Julian once more found himself flung into the fires of battle, ready to do whatever it takes to ensure final victory.
