'Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.'
-- Isaiah 60:1
General Information
Name:
Dieu Lumiére
Identity:
Helios
Gender:
Male
Age:
26
Date of Birth:
December 25
Place of Origin:
Marseille, France
Occupation:
Villain
Faction:
The Damascus Order
Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance:
Dieu is a rather tall young man, standing at around 6'2 with a very thin and lanky build, seemingly malnourished with semi-pale skin, but otherwise healthy and well. He has deep blue eyes, and short white hair.
Civilian Clothes:
As a civilian, Dieu has taken a fancy to wearing suits and tuxedos, his usual choice of outfit being a full-white tuxedo with golden trims and buttons and a tall collar, a wine-red vest, white pants and shoes, and an expensive-looking gold monocle over his right eye.
Villain Outfit:
His Villain outfit as Lumen consists of a white/gold robe and sash over his upper body and neck, along with white pants, boots, and a thin white veil floating down his back like a cape, with gold-dust stains splashed along it. This veil is made with numerous reflective microfiber 'plates', which allows it to reflect light.
Personality
Bad Habits:
Monologuing
Dieu is a bit of a prophetic speaker, and can't help but to break out into monologues from time to time, and cite transcripts/verses/psalms out of holy texts and scriptures in the middle of his sentences. He stays fully focused on his speech whenever he finds himself caught in one, and gets very angered if he is interrupted.
Passive
Dieu is a rather passive type of character, who doesn't really interfere or interact with anything unless it requires his immediate attention, or he is ordered to do something. In such cases when he has no orders to follow through, he will remain on the sidelines, even actively avoid contact if someone targets him. Though he will fight back in order to preserve his own life.
Goal:
To return the Earth to the unruly roots it once had, and to oust the hero society out of civilization.
General Personality:
On the surface, Dieu appears to be a very virtuous, if not a bit zealous man, acting as a puritan servant of the Lord, devout and humble. He appears to be kind and just in his decisions, always laying out judgment upon only those whom he deem fitting, and not lifting a finger towards the innocent. Some say that his behavior has often been mistaken for that of a Hero sometimes, and wonder if he is not just extremely confused over his own moral compass.
But underneath that surface of glamour and pure pedigree, he is nothing short of a sociopath. He is vindictive to those who would deem heroes to be the true solution to all, and will kill such individuals without a moment's notice. Dieu is cold and callous to those he despises at best, and at worst, he will be outright spiteful and detesting of them. He deems those who put too much faith in heroes to be nothing but 'gullible sheep', and will without hesitation show them the 'error of their archaic ways', be it by attempting to win them over with the vision of the Damascus Order, or by simply killing them.
He absolutely loathes heroes more than anything, however, and calls them 'jesters of the public', or any other derogatory titles. He views heroes who fight for justice as blind and unguided, as they cannot see that there is only one irrefutable and undeniable justice in the world; the justice of the primal world of the strong that the Order wishes to bring back. These sorts of heroes are the first of which Dieu will target when he is instructed to fight, and will do so without a moment's hesitation.
'The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.'

Jean-Philippe Lumiére (Brother, Deceased) (Quirkless)

History:
Dieu was a child conceived through a seeming miracle, as during the time of his conception, it was a dark night with but a single ray of moonlight shining through the hospital's window and upon Dieu's form at his birth. It was as if it was a divine sign, that this child would be meant for great things, and whilst he was indeed meant for such things, it would seem that the ends were not met where his parents had expected them to. Dieu's childhood was fairly uneventful, even as he grew up to discover his Quirk, and being personally coached and trained in utilizing it by his parents. They were the most supporting and bright lights in Dieu's life...
Too bad they were both snuffed out.
In a small raid made by armed men that were part of a rare, but existing Anti-Quirk movement in France, Dieu's house was raided and his family was killed, leaving only him as a survivor since some French Heroes managed to arrive (albeit too late) when they were about to find him. Dieu had his whole life robbed from him at that one moment, at the age of 10, and the Heroes sadly were not able to save his family, nor were they able to find a proper place for him, so he was put within an orphanage designated for Quirk-wielding children, and there he remained for at least 8 years, until he was deemed fit enough to live on his own, with governmental aid to designate a home for him. But, at the same time, his life now felt... meaningless. Like he had lost all.
Dieu kept living this empty, seemingly meaningless existence for about five more years, as he had even begun to turn to faith for guidance, wanting to know just how and why he was put through this proverbial Hell of a life. One day, though, he was visited by a lone man as there was no one else in the church but Dieu, and he asked Dieu a simple question; had the world really helped him when he needed it the most, or were those who inhabited it too weak to aid him? The man only identified himself as 'Anubis', and let Dieu know that it did not have to be this way. He did not need to feel coddled by those inferior to him, or accept aid from them when he clearly needed even more help than they could offer. He was offered to join this man's organization, the Damascus Order, before they'd relocate to a new main base in Japan. Seeing no one else to turn to, Dieu would accept, and has since been a devout, zealous follower of the Damascus Order.
'The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?'

Quirk
Name:
Light Construct
Quirk Type:
Emitter
Power:
Light Construct allows Dieu to coalesce any type of light, be it natural or artificial, into a solid matter that many would describe as 'hard-light', which is both very tough and durable, but extremely light, bordering on almost weightless. He can then mold this 'hard-light' into any manner of thing that he wishes, and use it for either offensive or defensive means. Things he has been known to mold this hard-light into would include, but not be limited to things like wings, platforms, barriers, orbs, swords, spears, bow & arrow, concentrated rays of light, and so much more.
Supermoves:
N/A
Drawbacks:
Dieu can only utilize his quirk if there is pre-existing light surrounding him that he can coalesce and manipulate, otherwise his quirk is essentially rendered useless. Furthermore, he has very light-sensitive skin, so over-usage of his quirk will result in him getting burnt very easily, so he has to use it with caution, or cover himself from head-to-toe before using his quirk.
Also, depending on which type of light he draws in to utilize for his quirk, the toughness and lethality of his constructs vary drastically. To put it simply; natural light (such as sunlight and moonlight, light produced from an open flame, etc.) is usually stronger than artificial light (such as light from electric lamps and light bulbs, or neon light). And there is also a varying strength/durability scale between those varying light sources as well, such as sunlight being stronger than moonlight. Even so, his light constructs are still very efficient, even when having to resort to artificial light.
Fighting Style:
Dieu very much relies on the full utility that his quirk enables him with, as he utilizes it for fighting almost exclusively, save for a couple of hand-pistols holstered at his waist as a last ditch effort. He will act mostly as a support fighter, flying about and bombarding enemies from afar.
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.'
