What felt like an age since they went off to deal with a whole lot of activity down south, Jupiter had returned home to the Bear Den. As to the state in which they returned was quite leisurely. They sported a set of sunglasses and a traveling cup they sipped a sparkling, fizzy fluid from out of a straw. They looked as if they were ready for their next big film production. Like a damn celebrity. But the only star they were looking for was none other than Momma Bear who they had been eager to catch up with.
They knew exactly where she'd be right now and couldn't resist playing up their return. They placed their belongings and stylishly removed their shades at the office then spied where MB would be and giggled to themselves. They delicately pranced over as giddily as possible then took out a sheet of decorated paper they'd been saving. They whipped it out and then leapt into the air as they made the paper encircle them. "Special delivery for Momma Bear~!" they'd call out before landing right in front of the recipient posing, covered from neck to ankle.

Momma Bear was hard at work same as always, but one report on her desk caught her eye above all others. Wonderfold was done with their work in the south huh? They'd be back any day now, she glanced up as the door to her office opened, she glanced up to see who was entering and... CRASH
A gift wrapped Wonderfold landed on her desk as if on cue, scattering papers and office supplies around the room in a destructive and flamboyant entrance that left Cahya stunned. She met her friend's gaze in stunned silence for several agonizing moments, before a grin split her face and she snorted with laughter
"Really Jupiter, an 'I'm your present' bit? If I didn't know better I'd say you were trying to seduce me" she giggled "you are an amazing gift to receive though, I've missed you here. Our southern branches are all stabilized and running smoothly then?

The paper hero smirked at Cahya. "And if I didn't know any better, I'd say you WANT to be seduced." They chuckled warmly as they sat up, undoing the wrapping slowly as they remained in place. They fixed their hair and placed a hand on their hip with a smarmy smile. "Yes. You could say I wrapped things up there nicely. Put a little bow on it. Fanned the flames of passion in their hearts. You'll stop me if these puns run a bit paper thin, yes?"
They crossed their legs and eyed Momma Bear up and down. "I missed your large frame, however. I could barely contain myself when I got the okay to head on back. And how are YOU doing? Any plans today?" They playfully laid on the table and rested their elbows on it, holding their face with their hands to make their cheeks perk up into a winning and comforting smile while their legs kicked back and forth.

Cahya shook her head at the bombardment of puns, but the smile on her face betrayed her amusement in spite of that. "your puns are always so tearable" she chuckled "and you know my plans are just more work. Having you handle the southern locations helped, but it's been all hands on deck trying to help Black Bear as she leads the start of the Hosu branch... not to mention the usual workload here in Mustafu. I'm as much of a workaholic as usual, nothing new there."
since she couldn't do any work while Jupiter was laying on her desk, she took the time to stretch, leaning back in her chair and raising her arms over her head to stretch her back out... and conveniently giving Wonderfold an eyeful of her chest and rippling muscles

The garishly dressed hero chuckled at Cahya's words and tilted their head. "That girl is always so busy. I suppose she gets it from her mother...." they pause to admire the sight presented, hand in chin thoughtfully scratching it. "....and it's a shame I've been down south because the mountains up north are looking particularly...shapely this year." They teased as they turned themselves back upright...but still firmly planted between MB and her work. They stare at MB with a cocked eyebrow then at the work they sat upon then back at Cahya.
They then used their hands to swipe all the papers off the desk then used their Quirk to neatly assemble the papers and set them off to the side in a stack. "Listen, I know your workload is awfully grizzly this time of year. But every bear needs a hibernation period. A break. A time to rest." They smiled widely and got close to Cahya. "How about...I handle this paperwork with you after we get back from a restaurant; just me and you. This evening?"

Cahya chuckled "She's young and looking to make her own mark, not just coasting on being my daughter. She's organizing one heck of an event that starts soon too. She'll probably surpass me in rank before too long, with how out of the public eye I've been. I'm proud of her, even if I do wish she hadn't picked up my workaholism" she said, then blushed at the comment about her "mountains" as she stopped stretching immediately
As Jupiter assembled the paperwork back into a neat stack, she considered their offer... it was true she was a bit overworked, and they were much faster at paperwork than she was for obvious reasons. Jupiter could practically see the number crunching in her head as she determined if there was time for a night out if she let them do this for her, how much time would be saved versus how much time would be spent... eventually she gave up on parsing it out though.
"You know what, sure. I haven't taken a night off in weeks, months maybe. This place can go one night without me without imploding... probably" she said

A very overjoyed smile crept across Jupiter's face. They had been waiting for this very day when Cahya actually agreed to go out! They had about seem resigned for a negative answer in their head. Hah, take THAT, depression! Their arms wrapped around Cahya's neck as the figure of Wonderfold leapt off the desk with an enthused cry of happiness. "Ooooh! You have no idea how happy I am to hear that! In fact, I needed a break myself!" They hung onto Cahya with one arm as they pulled away, nibbling upon their finger as they gave Cahya a look over once again. Maybe tonight would be the night they say something. Easy, Jupiter; one step at a time. Don't fold!
"It'll be my treat. And don't you DARE even think about doing anything for me this evening. I mean...besides giving me a show I mean wow...always in top shape there." they took their free hand and patted MB's abs before setting themselves down on solid ground with hands on their hips. They looked positively fulfilled. No sign of feeling down. Just the regular Jupiter who smiled and kept people smiling as much as they could.

Cahya wasn't sure how to react to all this overt flirting Jupiter was doing, they teased each other a lot sure, but Wonderfold was being a lot more... direct than usual. Was her teasing just out of practice or something...? Or was it that they were... nah, they'd been working together for too long for that kind of change to come out now... right?
"Of course I'm always in top shape, not like my body can be anything but" Cahya chuckled, a brief tinge of bitterness over the unfortunate side effect of her body's insistence on being in peak shape at all times with her quirk... but the moment passed quickly. She flexed her biceps as she pushed down that negative flash deep down in her mind "being able to put on a gun show whenever I want is definitely a plus though" she added

Their jokes may go over alot of folks' head or fall flat like paper, but they were observant of Cahya. They had been working together awhile now for them to notice a few of Cahya's ticks. They raised a finger and pointed it directly at Cahya's nose, lightly booping it. "Uh no. None of that. I saw that." they said pointedly. They folded their arms and gave MB a very knowing look. As motherly a look as Wonderfold could muster upon a mother figure. "Hun, lord knows I adore your gun show quite frequently but I have a bulletpoint of my own to address."
A concerned look emerged on Jupiter's face while giving Momma Bear a very patient smile. "What's bothering ya there, Momma?"

Cahya sighed, of course Jupiter saw that, she was pretty good at suppressing the bitterness about this topic, but if anyone could see through it it was them. "Oh it's nothing really, just reminded myself about the side effect of my quirk" she said as she put a hand over her stomach "I'll never be a real mother, I've got the orphanage, and my adopted daughter, but I can't bear children of my own. I'm ok with it, I've had plenty of time to come to terms with that... it still stings sometimes at the most unexpected moments though."

Ah. That explains it. Jupiter had been made aware of this fact a few months after they had met. It had gotten her in quite a mood and bringing it up brought a melancholy air to the room. They sigh as they place both hands to Cahya's cheeks. "We've been through this. Look at what ya have. Mom always told me to never lament what we don't have and to instead focus on what we do."
They softly chuckle. "You got Izara who you adopted and I swear she is very own. Ena is the cutest little thing we've ever had in this place and gave her a home despite the odd circumstances surrounding her. And then we got a villain faction's youngest member who is already mending their ways and making friends. And I could swear she and Ena have a thing." They give a crooked, awkward smile and they flush. "And um...yeah you also got me here, ya know? I'm not a kid of yours but erm...heh...wow this is not how I expected to say this but uh...I know I've always acted like a second parent and all...but I'm everything but that...on paper.."
They rub the back of their head and slowly, all their little comments start to make more sense. "...so I was thinking...maybe we could...be parents...together?" They bashfully tapped their fingers together then burst out laughing."SO unlike me, right? Ahaha!"

Cahya smiled softly as Jupiter tried to cheer her up. She knew all of that stuff, of course she was super happy with the life she led. So many kids under her wing, Izara, Ena, Gremlin, and so many others. She had a fulfilling career, a huge family, and so many reasons to feel blessed. The fact she could never have her own child hurt, it was something she'd always feel regret over, but she'd come to terms with that. She didn't need all these reassurances... but it was sweet that Jupiter was giving them regardless.
Until... the topic shifted...
"...so I was thinking...maybe we could...be parents...together?"
Wait... wait wait wait wait WHAT? They were, they, Jupiter was, what, parents, on paper, together, they, what, WHAT, WHAT!?
Cahya's jaw dropped, her mind completely failing to process the situation for what seemed like forever as her face blushed so much it was clearly visible despite her skin tone. "That's... you're... you mean... you want to... uh... with me... I..." she stammered, unable to even come up with a response as she mentally scrambled to recover from this bombshell that had dropped out of the blue on her.

Their eyes gazed upon one mess of a hero coming to terms what Jupiter surmised to be Cahya's honest-to-goodness reaction to what was clearly a Wonderfold-style proposal. They uttered a genuine tear-filled laughing fit. "I have NEVER heard you in such a tizzy. Did some honey get stuck up there in your brain gears? You are TOO precious! You really are just like a teddy bear, I swear."
They stared into her eyes and spoke to her in a way they had never really done. In a higher-pitched, more feminine voice that was clearly their birth gender trying to convey just how much Cahya meant. "Julie Holstrom may make alot of paper jokes that are plain to see and grew up to be Jupiter, but she...they would like nothing more than to make such puns with the woman she...they have come to adore."
They let it settle in, trusting Cahya enough to handle what they had said before offering their hand to them. "What do you say? Shall we officiate this partnership with a date..." they slowly, teasingly added in "...honeyyyyy?" The look on their face made it seem like that pun was going a bit far...and might overload the brain of this poor woman...again.

Jupiter having a laughing fit like they always did jolted Cahya out of her brain short circuiting. Oh so it was just them teasing her again, that... that was fine. She didn't... want that to be a serious proposal anyway... she...
then Jupiter continued, using their female high pitched voice as they expressed how serious they actually were about it. Cahya couldn't help but smile, she was really getting some emotional whiplash here... but this was really something. And somehow after that roller coaster she'd come out on the other end smiling and happy.
"You always did have a way with words" Cahya said as she took the offered hand "this is a lot to take in, but I do like you too, you're so sweet and patient and you always make me laugh, and you're great with the kids which is a big plus... I'd love to go on a date with you. Let's take it a bit slower than jumping right into a proposal though ok? Just because we think each other is amazing doesn't automatically mean dating will work right? Also I think if you propose to me again right now I will have a heart attack."

They chuckle sweetly. "Yeah, slow is great! No need to wrap things up just like that. Just being away for so long got me really thinking. I mean REALLY thinking! " They almost sound panicked. "Just ask her, I told myself. She won't say no. Least I hope she won't...and I am talking to myself again. Wew...no need for a heart attack. For either of us." They wiped their forehead and leaned into Cahya.
"Let's just get out and have a bite to eat. Slip on out. I can keep up these puns all evening and I know you'll never get tired of them." they held up the slip of paper with the name of the restaurant on it followed by a knowing smile from Wonderfold. They pushed off the desk and dramatically fell into Cahya's arms. "Oh but my legs are weak." they lied obviously, holding the back of their hand to their forehead. "If only a beary strong woman could carry me part of the way to recover from my shredded fatigue. After all, unlike my paper Quirk, you are quite...ripped?" They winked with a playful smile,looking right into Cahya's eyes with a sincere look despite their wordplay.
