Velma grunted as she slipped on her shoes for the day and pushed herself out of her bed. As per usual, Ena was there to greet her with a fuzzy hug and a cheek nuzzle. "Good afternoon, Velma! I missed you at breakfast! let's get lunch now! Lunch is very good to have with friends!" she declared while the former villain smiled awkwardly. She had gotten used to Ena being overly affectionate and any time she wasn't there, Velma got concerned. Frankly speaking, Ena was the best part about being in this place as far as Velma was concerned.
There was always the feeling that DO knew where she was and it was only a matter of time before she'd be found out. But the security around here was top notch and Momma Bear was one imposing figure of a hero. That pink-haired one was also kinda funny. Their puns though sometimes made her cringe...in the best possible way.
She took hold of Ena's hand. "Yeah, lets." she'd reply. Ena skipped around her as she and Velma made their way to the cafeteria to get their lunch. Ena, as usual, got her special tomato juice while Velma preferred apple. Their main dish was shared; pizza. They both enjoyed the same toppings and it got real awkward when the last piece was left. They each offered it to one another. But eventually Velma would have it because she couldn't resist Ena making airplane noises and delivering it right to her mouth.
Afterwards, they'd explore the grounds to get glimpses at any students for them to emulate. Velma would sigh as Ena hugged her arm. it had become a sigh familiar with all the staff at this point. These two were inseparable buddies but no one dared bring up how they were both connected to DO.

As they passed the training grounds, they'd come across a young girl standing in front of a tower of cement blocks wider than she was and twice as tall. With a grunt she punched the tower, causing a loud boom as her fist shattered the tower into cement dust and rubble... the girl didn't hesitate as she moved onto another tower, destroying that one, and another, and another. She was drenched in sweat, clearly training hard as she showed off a great deal of raw power, when she got to the final tower though her blow only managed to crack it.
"Damnit... not enough energy left... need to do better at conserving it between strikes..." the girl muttered, before then spotting her two observers "Oh! sorry, did you two need the training ground?"
The girl turned to face them, fiery red hair, wearing shiny armor, piercing blue eyes, and rather tall for a woman... she was definitely a hero, or hero student interning here, and it seemed she thought they were here to train too.

The moment Ena saw Serena, her eyes grew wide with wonder. Like she was admiring a real live honest-to-goodness hero! She just simply stared which Velma knew that she had to speak up with a sigh.
"No, we're jutht wandering. Obtherving." Velma stated, looking to Ena. "She's...ugh...Ena. She likesth heroesth like yourthelf. Though I gueth you're too young to be one...a thtudent, I gueth."
Ena excitedly squealed."How'd you do that? Are you really strong? Is your Quirk to do things with a big PAPOW and make them all go WHOOSH!?" she moved about, looking at Serena at all angles and poked at the dust pile left behind. She stood on her tippy-toes. "I'm Ena and this is Velma! We live here and are orphans! Momma Bear is my mommy!"
Velma sheepishly waved as Ena hugged her tight and slightly blushes.

The girl blinked a few times in stunned silence as Ena began gushing over her training display, she didn't know how to respond to people gushing over her yet, and she hadn't mentally prepared for it. "Oh uh... yeah my quirk lets me absorb and store up energy and then unleash it in a buncha ways, simplest one being helping me hit things really hard." she said awkwardly "my name's Serena, nice to meet ya both"

Ena nodded happily to Serena explanation and looked to Serena then to Velma then to Serena and then to herself as her wings flapped excitedly. "I love your name, Serena! It makes me happy to get to know you! My Quirk is all about sound but the way to activate it is that I have to...ask people for their blood and only take a small amount! I am very good support and a very good girl!" She nuzzles Velma and pushes her forward. Velma yelps with surprise and grumbles only slightly irate. "Velma! Your Quirk is nice too! Tell her!"
Those brimming energetic eyes of Ena made is hard to say no. She swore sometimes Ena's real power was making herself too damn adorable to resist. The young girl clad in attire more suitable for one in construction sighed and strolled up to a set of blocks much more impressive than Serena had just dealt with. She turned to face the group as Ena giddily tugged at Serena. "Watch watch! It's fun! Velma is very good!"
All this praise made the former villain bashfully sway from side to side. "Geez...ith nothing..." she humbly remarks. She gently sets her left hand on the bricks and a small surge of energy exits her fingertips. She closes her eyes, and a small moment passes before a sudden CRUNCH!
The bricks suddenly all crumble to the ground while Velma sighs and scratches the back of her head. "I can...deconthtruct all man-made materialsth and thtructures by touch alone. The bigger the conthtruct, the longer it takesth to break down and the more it takesth out of me." Ena squealed and ran up to hug Velma. Velma eeped and found herself in the bat-girl's embrace. "GACK! Ena! Thtop! Can't breaaaath!"
Ena looked proud, excited, and most of all bubbly to be seen with Velma who was set free from her grasp, gasping for air.

Serena looked between the two, something about what they were saying about themselves sounded familiar. She was pretty sure she'd overheard some talk about a bat girl under the Den's protection. But since Serena was primarily acting in the Hosu branch and was still a student she wasn't really privy to the details there. Still it synced up with the other rumors she'd heard... namely that said bat girl was absolutely adorable. She still didn't know how best to respond to this duo, but she couldn't help but crack a smile at Ena's energy
"A sound quirk huh? A friend of mine has a sound quirk too, she uses it to make music mostly but she's training to apply to UA next year." Serena said as Velma approached an even larger stack of blocks than the ones she'd just destroyed in succession... looking at the stack Serena figured she might be able to break this one if she were targeting ONLY that one, but it would take a pretty big charge.
And then the pillar collapsed, with Velma just simply putting her hand against it for a bit. Serena gave an appreciative whistle, and listened with a grin as the quirk was explained "now that IS a nice quirk. Might be a bit tricky to use against people, but the fact you could just... destroy a villain's hideout without even fighting them. That's quite something, you seem to be pretty practiced with it too if you can destroy something that big without breaking a sweat."
Serena looked between Ena and Velma again as Ena went in for yet another hug "you two seem close, are you sisters? Girlfriends? Or is it more that Ena is just a hugger?"

Velma coughed audibly, holding her chest and doubling over while Ena supportively patted her back. The sudden comment had made Velma quite shocked. She slapped her own knee a few times then arose with a deep inhale and a flushed face that said more than it needed to. "GIRLFRIEND!? No, Ena jutht really REALLY likesth hugsth!" responded Velma almost immediately to try and clear the air.
Ena blinked and tilted her head then her eyes went wide with realization. "Oh! Ena knows this word! Little Chef told her once! Yes! Ena and Velma are girlfriends! I care very much for Velma!" she said as much unapologetically with a smile then proceeded to put her arms around Velma for another hug while the recieving party looked flabbergasted.
"Eh!? Cut that out! Wh- what did that thilly chef thay? Did they give you cookiesth to thay that?" demanded a more flustered than ever Velma who wriggled in the grasp of the surprisingly strong Ena.
"Cookies!? Where?! I want one!" Ena let go, looking about eagerly.
"GACK!" Velma exclaimed as she was dropped and grumbled as she stood back up. She huffed and slid her hands in her pockets, looking defensive and facing away. "I don't...I mean I..." she sighs and sneakily eyes the now fully alert Ena on the lookout for sweets. Then she cracks a small smile and a soft look. "....doesthn't thound tho bad..."

Serena tried, she really did, she tried very hard not to laugh at Velma's reaction, but despite her best efforts, the whole exchange that followed her question was too adorable to not let out a snort of laughter. She covered her mouth instinctively, the let out a slow exhale as she managed to suppress the urge to laugh more
"I see, I think I get the gist of things now, no need to be embarrassed about it, but I won't tease too much" Serena said, still smiling even though the laughter had subsided, then she walked over to her bag and rummaged around a bit, eventually producing a package of cookies "here you go Ena, I like sweets too so I usually have a few on hand."
