All the entities who lived long enough in Scala Ad Caelum would one day visit Skylark's workshop. Either by recommendation from someone else, on instructions of the Masters, or by pure accident, everyone found their way there sooner or later. They often left looking slightly different from when they walked inside, from something as little as a brooch to something as big as a new garment. Skylark prided themselves on quality, even if it did not always give that impression at a glance. Right now, the counter inside the workshop was empty... Skylark was, as they so often did, napping among the rows of fabrics at the back of their workshop, somewhere between awake and asleep, making the Fairy semi-aware of what was happening around them. That was not to say that the workshop was not busy; it was full of activity, with tools flitting about and pieces of fabric sewing themselves together, a few hats floating around in the air, a broom carefully sweeping the floor as a pot of tea was brewing over at the fireplace, and a rag was cleaning the windows. Several orders for garments were placed in preparation for incoming recruits, and no one would ever accuse Skylark of not doing their job. There were also several doors leading further into the building, short corridors going into other rooms, each filled with its kind of work, such as sewing, baking, and candlestick making. Things had just been very... slow, so it did not give Skylark much to do, and an order like this one was something they could easily do, even in their sleep... so they minded the downtime. Still, the calm was bound to end as soon as someone among Scala's citizens decided to visit them.

Guardians frequented the place from time to time. The most prevalent of the customers being Cait Sith. He was usually in charge of a lot of the merchants and businesses that plied their trade in Scala Ad Caelum. From the simple junk trader to the major restaurants. Of course, he couldn't review them all as a good number of them were located on the other landmasses and he mainly checked out with the ones on the central area which was where Skylark's place was.
But Cait Sith wasn't alone today.
Alongside him was Vanille who opened the door for him as he stepped on through.
"Thank ye kindly, lass!" he remarked with a small salute. The cat looked up and around at the little bit and bobs of enchanted doodads moving about while Vanille herself was positively tickled pink by it all. She had been in here at least once before yet her expression was like her first time. "And here we are. Ah can understand why ye had trouble finding it before but now that your ol pal Cait has given ye proper directions, ah trust ye'll have no trouble finding it again, eh?"
She nodded with her hands lightly balled in excitement. "Ah yes yes! Thank you! I'd get lost looking for it all day if it wasn't for you. Really, you're a lifesaver!" She looked around curiously and seeing no sign of Skylark at first glance, she called "Hullo? Are you here?"
Cait Sith chuckled and shrugged. "Probably dozing their wee head somewhere cosy!" He cupped his gloved hands to his mouth and called out as well. "Yoohoo! Skylark! Ye got a customer! Stop yer snoozin'!"

"Be with you in a moment." Came a sing-song voice, partly stifled by a yawn. Skylark had opened one of their eyes, looking up at the ceiling... and after taking a deep breath, the fairy slid out from among the fabrics, adjusting their clothes before making their way towards the front.
"Good-" Skylark paused, looking at the window... "day." They then turned their attention towards the two visitors, giving them a mellow smile. The fairy looked like they were still half-sleeping, but that was what Skylark looked like most of the time, always with the dark circles under the eyes.
"Well, look what the cat dragged in. This is certainly a new combination. How nice to see you again, Miss Vanille, Sir Sith. I was just about to have some of my special tea. Would you care to join me?" Skylark gestured to a group of plush armchairs by the fireplace before ducking as a measuring tape flew past to join the other tools over by the mannequin. As the Skylark stood back up, they winced slightly.
"You'll have to excuse everyone; we're in the middle of several orders." A perceptive person might notice that Skylark's midsection and part of one arm were bandaged, which was not there when either Vanille or Cait Sith saw Skylark last time.

It only now dawned on Cait Sith whose ears drooped with an apologetic "Oh." He had forgotten that many orders had indeed come in but was unaware that all of them were made here. "That makes sense. Ah can see why ye'd need a wee bit of sleep. Sorry about that." His ears perked up. "Tell ya what; you sit tight...and ah'll handle the tea." said he as he began making his way to the kitchen. He held a firm index finger at Skylark as he passed by. "And ah willnae hear any fuss, aye? Ye may be the host but ah dinnae want an overworked fae workin' themselves anymore than they have to!"
While Cait did notice the bandages, he said nothing; opting to take a bit of the workload onto himself instead as a sign that he was a bit concerned for SKylark.
Meanwhile, it was Vanille who lightly touched her lips in surprise at the sight of the bandaged limbs. "Oh dear...what in the world did you do to yourself here?" she gestured to Skylark's bandaged portions. She hemmed and lightly huffed as she held up her hand toward SKylark. A faint green glow issued from her palm, surrounding the afflicted areas with a soothing aura. "It won't heal the injuries instantly but it'll definitely help make them feel better. Goodness...I didn't know you could get hurt like this..." she remarked with a bit of bewilderment.

"No worries, my friend. We all have our duties, and this is one of mine." Knowing it would be useless to object, Skylark decided to comply when Cait Sith said he would fix the tea, showing both hands as the cat pointed at them. "I'll leave the tea to you then." Skylark watched as Cait Sith walked off before sitting in one of the armchairs, leaning back and sighing softly.
They were not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
"Well, it did not happen here; I was attacked." The fairy replied when Vanille voiced her concerns, watching as her healing magic surrounded the damage. Skylark lightly touched the bandaged area, and it did feel better. "Thank you, my dear; my magic is not focused on the art of healing. So I could not do much myself. I did what I could, but you can only get so far with ointments and herbs" They smiled faintly. "Whatever gave you that idea, Vanille? I'm not invulnerable, and Fairies can be harmed like anyone else. Moreso in the case of my smaller cousins, at least I don't risk harm from someone saying they don't believe in me."

As Cait hummed in the other room, sprinkling herbs and leaves into the steeping orb, Vanille lightly braced her fingers up to her mouth. "Goodness! Attacked? Who'd be cold enough to attack you like that?! You all fly so fancy-free..." she illustrated with her hands flapping like wings, "I'd always thought you could fly away from danger and avoid getting hurt." she explained herself with a small, worried glance as her healing continued. Then her face got especially frustrated. "Well, whoever did it is downright mean! I ought to get Fang and give that bully a piece of my mind!" she nodded to herself with hands lightly clasped into tiny fists.
As kind as Vanille was, she got especially angry when friends got hurt. Usually, it was Fang, her better half, that handled the muscle-work while Vanille would back her up. Rarely was it ever Vanille ready to knock a few heads together. She would fire herself up usually and would then settle down...as she did now. She initially arose from her chair and then sat back down while looking tentatively to the other room for Cait to finish the tea.

"That was a very apt description," Skylark said with a faint smile, finding a seat in one of the plush armchairs and gesturing for Vanille to take a seat herself. "He introduced himself as Rexal, a Nobody with the power over ice and cold. I've never for the life of me met the man before, nor do I know what reason he would have to assault me. I managed to escape, which I fear is the only reason we can have this conversation." Skylark paused, examining Vanille's reaction, following with their eyes as the girl sat before standing up and sitting again. The fairy's gaze drifted towards the workshop's counter and... an idea.
"There is a tin with biscuits over by the counter, the one with butterfly dragons; maybe you could be a dear and get them for us?" They offered, seeing that Vanille looked like she needed something to do. She was a sweet girl, but running headlong after an enemy they knew next to nothing about seemed a little foolhardy, with or without the assistance of Fang. Still, Skylark did appreciate the heart behind the suggestion. "And enough talk about my unfortunate misadventures. Did you not want to see me about something, Miss Vanille?"

Nobodies. Those were those things she heard about before. Different than Heartless. Stronger, some say. But the especially strong ones appear human and such a thing attack poor little Skylark? Before she got even more riled up, the self-same Skylark did Vanille's thoughts a favor and distracted her with something to do to keep them occupied. "Ah!" she perked up with fingers touching her mouth. "Yes, of course!" As she did, one could hear the slight humming of Cait Sith from the other room who seemed to be enjoying himself immensely. "Aye, biscuits do make a fine treat!" he chimed, showing them he had been listening in but also minding his own business. Upon returning with the tin in hand, Vanille responded to Skylark. "Ah, right! Well, see...there's going to be a new lot of Allies graduating and some have asked for sets of matching uniforms. Not to mention I want to surprise a few of them with a custom-made work of my own. Fang says I'm spoiling them but then I decided to get something for her done as well so she can't complain." she added with a mischievous smirk and a nod. She fished out a sketchpad filled to the brim with various designs ranging from cutesy to intricate to classy among its sheets. "All of them want something different but they all settled on a theme...I think..."She showed off one particular design.

Skylark sank back into the armchair, ignoring the slight sting of pain from the abdomen. It was nothing compared to what others had felt over the years, so the fairy did not want to complain more about it; it would do no one any good to do so. The Masters had enough on their plate; Skylark did not want to add more if they could help. "Yes, I got them from Grandma Duck's farm when last I was in that area," Skylark explained with a slight smile. "They are very delicious, so I like keeping a tin at hand for when needed."The fairy listened as Vanille explained why she was there. They curiously watched the girl pull out her sketches, showing one of the designs. "I think helping them is the least we can do; after all, they are the ones who will be doing much of the heavy lifting. If we don't spoil them, who will?" Skylark pulled a pair of delicate spectacles from a pocket, pinching them to their nose before looking more closely at the design. "All in all, I think it is a wonderful idea. I've also tasked my brooms with handing out gift baskets with goodies as a way to make them feel more welcome." As if on cue, the door opened, and a small broom with arms came walking inside the workshop. "Oh, you're back. Did the delivery go well?" Skylark said, and the broom stopped before making a few creaking noises. "Wonderful, your hard work is very appreciated." The broom made a few more noises before walking further inside the workshop, disappearing into the area filled with candles. Skylark smiled after it before looking at Vanille again. "Anyway, I take it you want my assistance with creating these outfits?"

With wonder, the guardian watched as the brooms entered and could not help but smile at their approach. It had almost made her forget what she had come here for in the first place. She about jumped when Skylark addressed her again after speaking to the brooms. "Ah! Oh! Yes! That would be great! Ummm..."
From the kitchen finally emerged Cait Sith with the tea tray...in the hands of his helpful heavyset moogle doll that barely managed to clear the doorway. "And here we are. Hope ya dinnae mind; decided upon some goldenroot tea made with my own recipe. It's sure to pair well with those biscuits. From Grandma Duck's no less! Well, that's a wee bit of a treat, that is!" The tray was set before them, still held by the construct's plush mitts with the cups and kettle on full display while the cat himself scurried down off the large server and into the midst of Vanille and Skylark. He graciously helped himself to a biscuit. "Oh, dinnae mind if I do!" then he went to pour the tea for each of them.
"It means a lot to these kids who've no other place to go. These presents sure put a smile on their faces...must remind them of home...wherever that is...was..." softly murmured Vanille whose face got the slightest bit sullen.
"Dinnae think about that; their home is here now and that is what matters, aye?" interjected Cait who handed off Vanille's cup filled with aromatic tea. She nodded, smiling sheepishly as taking her first sip with a relaxed posture now.

Skylark nodded, watching as Cait Sith returned with the tea.
"Yes, she says love is an important ingredient in any cooking, and by her experience, I am willing to believe her wisdom on the subject." They said with a faint smile, "And it does warm my heart when so many support what we are trying to do; I find it is the actions of the regular people that most often keep the darkness at bay, so, I take steps not to forget them."
The fairy, accepting a cup of tea, turned their attention back to Vanille.
"They are still alive, and that is proof their worlds are not all gone. Besides- things lost to darkness can be reclaimed, and I remain hopeful that the worlds lost can one day be restored." The fairy explained, sipping at the tea before sighing. "But, yes, I believe outfits like these can be arranged; I would, of course, need measurements, and best of all, it would be best if these children come here in person for a fitting and personal consultation." Skylark's bright eyes slowly drifted between the two visitors. "Are you in need of something yourselves now that you are both here? I seem to be having some open time at the moment."
