History:
Maximilian, son of the Goof, is a great hero of many worlds. Before Max was born, Goofy had been going on all manner of adventures in the company of his friends, mostly Mickey and Donald, armed with a shield and good humour. He was a Guardian at Scala Ad Caeum, training those wishing for it in how to defend, and he was much beloved for his humour, kindness and good spirit—often bringing up photos of Max in everyday conversation once he had his wife had him. These were the good old days, and although prone to accidents, Goofy did his best to help those in need and never swayed from the path he believed in.
Maximilian knows almost nothing about this part of his father's life because Goofy gave most of it up when his wife passed away when Max was a child. Goofy did not think he could provide for the boy if he remained the way he had always been, not wanting to raise him at Scala. So he put the shield away and focused on raising him instead, seeing that job as the most essential duty he would ever get. The Masters and other Guardian understood, albeit sad to see him go, that it was his path, and all they could do was accept it.
Childhood
Max had a very happy childhood, and Goofy was an attentive parent, working hard to provide the best possible life with his photography business. During the initial years of his life, the two lived together at a trailer park, which lasted until Max was 11½, at which point the two moved back to Goofy's hometown of Spoonerville. He and Goofy live right next door to Mr Pete and his family. Despite Pete's relationship with Goofy being mostly antagonistic, Max almost instantly becomes best friends with Pete's more genial son, P.J. The two remain close friends even to this day, albeit with difficulties due to Pete.
Over the years, Max got into several antics, often stemming from his more cunning nature of wanting to get away with things or doing something effortlessly. But, unlike someone like Mr Pete, Max always did so from a place of care and does have a good heart at the end of the day. He did learn from these experiences, even if he did so the hard way.
Teenage Years
As a teenager, Max became more interested in being popular at school. He had never been one of the popular kids, but at the same time, he was not unpopular... he remained solidly somewhere in the middle. He did his best to fit in and continued to cringe at his father's clumsiness and refusal to see that he was NOT a little kid anymore, with his greatest fear being that he would end up becoming like Goofy.
Still, it was not all bad, and he had his core group of friends, his sports, music, and not to mention... Roxanne. Not that he had ever talked to her, but she was still there... and she was gorgeous and fabulous. Alongside P.J. and another friend, Bobby, he can put on a concert in the school auditorium, meant to be a way of shedding his "Goof" image in front of the student body, suiting up as the famed Powerline and performing his song "Stand Out". It did not work out as intended, and the principle caught them. He did not know the principal made things worse by greatly exaggerating everything, giving Goofy the impression that Max would become a criminal and be sentenced to death.
Goofy, as the ever-concerned father... overreacted, like always. He was forcing Max to go on the most ridiculous road trip, attempting to bond with him... with mixed results. It did end well, and he ended up dancing with the artist Powerline on stage like he had said he would... even if he had initially lied about it to impress Roxanne. It turned out he should not have bothered because Roxanne had always already liked him for who he was and because of his unusual laugh.
The bonding between father and son had another effect: Max learned a little more about the old man's background and his adventures with Uncle Mickey and Uncle Donald. Max begged his father to teach him how to fight with a shield, motivating him that if he knew how to defend others, he could help against bullies at school. With a promise to never start fights, Goofy agreed and took down his shield from the wall again for the first time since Max's mother died. Finding this new side of Goofy was a revelation, and the two began to bond during these lessons, with Max showing an excellent aptitude for the techniques Goofy was teaching him.
At the same time, he started to learn more about the greater world and the dangers of things lying beyond its borders.
Appearance
Physical Appearance:
Max appears quite similar to his father, Goofy, although shorter and, of course, younger. But they have a familiar relationship just from a glance. He also has spiked hair, unlike Goofy. He is young and agile, with a slender but robust build and somewhat longer legs than the rest of his body.
Clothing/Armor:
Max generally has two different kinds of outfits; in terms of daily wear, he likes to keep things casual with comfortable pants and t-shirts, with the addition of a sweatshirt or jacket as and when needed. Most of the time, he likes to be comfortable, using garments that give freedom of movement, and he won't snag when riding his skateboard or doing parkour. The other outfit still has a comfortable fit. Still, it is reminiscent of a modern take on an adventurer's clothes, with protection at the knees, everything going in shades of blue and orange.
Weapon(s):
The Goof Shield
Given to Max by his father, Goofy, it is a well-made and extremely durable shield that Goofy used on many adventures. It has become Max's most treasured possession, and he has even been known to use it for things other than battle. It works as an excellent board for doing tricks on.
Misc:
Backpack
Skateboard
Phone
Personality
General Personality:
Max is a teenager who likes to put on an air of calm and coolness, even if he struggles with keeping his father's goofiness as far away from him as possible. Despite the denial of being nothing like his father, Max's mannerisms sometimes echo Goofy's, including Goofy's laugh, scream, and clumsiness. He has spent much of his time tagging along with Goofy during his father's shenanigans and often becomes embarrassed by his antics, even if his love for the old man is genuine. However, his selfish actions of trying to be distant from his father sometimes cause him to miss the importance of putting his family's and friends' needs before himself. Therefore, it can strain the relationships he's made or is trying to make.
Young Max also has a heroic side and is more than willing to step up and take action when needed or when someone does something he disagrees with. Insulting Goofy is just one example of a thing that would set Max off; as much as he dislikes being compared to the old man, dosenät that mean he won't come to his defence if insulted?
Here are just a few more of the words that can be used to describe Max: Cool, worrisome, energetic, charming, awkward, hyperactive, mischievous, selfless, determined, imaginative, intelligent, athletic, good-hearted, alert, creative, eager, endearing, tenacious, friendly, stubborn, short-tempered. He is as complicated a teen as the next of them, and he has a lot going on.

Abilities
Skills:
Athletism
Max is professionally good at skateboarding, rollerblades, and riding a bike. He is generally also very athletic and acrobatic, easily flipping off a brick wall and pulling off a big stunt when needed. He also has his father's durability and knack for surviving accidents of a severe nature, even if he is not as prone to clumsiness as Goofy is. This makes him a great person to have around during a conflict, as he will likely take a beating better than the next guy. He is far more of a tank than he would appear to be, and can take a beating like the best of them.
Shield Savant
After training with his father and others, Max is proficient in using a shield as an offensive and defensive tool in battle. He is familiar with several techniques he learned from Goofy, including Charge, Tornado, Shield Stance, and Aerial Slam. He can also combine this with his athletic prowess, making it possible for Max to ride his shield as one might a skateboard.
Improvisation Guru
Something Max has learned from living with Goofy is the art of improvisation, both in and out of combat. Max knows how to sweet talk when he has to, make up lies instantly, or just come up with explanations in the blink of an eye. Max has often felt the need to cover for his father's shortcomings, which has given him at least a little payoff. He is adept at finding useful tools to defend himself with when the shield is unavailable. Anything and everything could be used as a shield in a pinch, albeit... not as durable.

Bond Information
Friends/Allies:
Goofy Goof
Max has a complicated relationship with his father. He often finds him embarrassing, something made even worse by Goofy's insistence on being affectionate. The more Max pushes his father away, the more stubbornly he plants himself in whatever Max tries to do. But, for all his flaws, Max knows his father only ever means well, and he does appreciate having him there when he needs someone to turn to.
"Uncle" Mickey
Of his father's best friends, Mickey Mouse is the one Max likes most. Since childhood, Mickey has been a recurring presence, and Max admires the mouse greatly.
"Uncle" Donald
Max has less of a close relationship with Goofy's other best friend, Donald. It's not that Max dislikes Donald; he is as cool as any grown-up. He is just a lot more volatile than someone like Mickey, and he has a lot to deal with on his own, taking care of his nephews and being the nephew of the richest duck in the world(s). Still, you can usually count on Uncle Donald to be there for you in a pinch.
Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse
Mickey's young nephews, sons of his older sister Felicity Fieldmouse, are a few years younger than Max, but he still has a good relationship with the duo from when they spent time together. If anything, Max appreciates that they genuinely think of him as "cool", and he has become a regular babysitter, helping Uncle Mickey keep an eye on them.
P.J. Pete
P.J. is Max's best friend, and the two boys became closer very soon after Max and his father moved to their new home, despite P.J.'s father's more hostile relationship with Goofy. P.J.'s mother, Peg, can be thanked for ensuring her villainous husband does not ruin the boy's relationship. Max knows that Pete has been training P.J., and the friend has voiced concern that his father's latest actions are more unsavoury than usual.
Roxanne
Max's girlfriend and one of his greater supporters. She genuinely likes him for who he is, and finds many of his "flaws" adorable and very endearing.
Noelle Holiday
She is not as much a friend as she is a close friend of Roxanne's. But, Noelle was also one of the people supporting the relationship between Max and Roxanne in the first place, she knew Roxanne liked Max before anyone else. She has helped Max with homework a few times, and they are generally on good speaking terms. They do share a love of video games!
Rivals/Enemies:
Mr Pete
P.J.'s father and one of the least friendly people Max knows. The young Goof has been roped into one of two of Pete's schemes over the years and is trying to steer clear of anything he might try to pull, which is made more difficult because his son is Max's best friend. Thankfully, his wife seems capable of keeping him in line for the most part.
Faction Link(s):
Keyblade Union
Max doesn't officially have a relationship with the Union in the way that he is aware of them. Still, they are aware of him because Goofy used to be a Guardian for the Union before he retired after the death of Max's mother. The Masters and other Guardians loved Goofy, but they also understood his reasons for putting Max first.
Starlight Denizens
Having grown up in Spoonerville, Max has a decent relationship with its citizens, several of his friends being part of them.

"You see, son, the best way to wield a shield is to not- think about it."
"Not... think about it?" Max raised an eyebrow, looking at the shield was holding, before looking back to Goofy. "It's a shield, I don't think I will forget it's there, Dad."
"Maybe," Goofy continued with a chuckle, "but you need to let it be a part of you, an extension of you. If you're strong, your shield will be just as strong, and I mean strength from inside here" Goofy reached out, tapping the son at the chest, giving him a warm smile before taking a step back. "That's where true strength comes from..."
"Yeesh, how sappy can you get, Dad," Max cringed internally; he could feel his father's gaze watch him, and did his best to ignore it as he took a swing with the shield towards the training dummy, sending it flying.. "What does my heart have anything to do with me being able to protect someone with a piece of inanimate metal? It's a shield..."
"Goosh, may be an example," Goofy, ever patient with his son's... lack of patience, just shook his head. "Let's say someone was attacking Roxanne- would you do everything to get between her and the attacker?"
"Of course I would," replied Max with furrowed brow. "What's your point?"
"That's how you become stronger, by finding the things you want to protect." Goofy walked over and pulled the training dummy back. "I agreed to help you with this, not so you can go out beating people up, but so you can protect them that matter most, who make you stronger. I ain't going to be here forever-"
"Don't, Dad..." Max interrupted, not wanting to think of a scenario where his father was not there... "I get it; protecting others will motivate me to try harder... you could have just said it that way."
"That is how you make a difference, Maxie."
-Later-
" and I still don't get what he meant, to be honest", Said Max, leaning slightly against his skateboard. "I do like the stuff he teaches me, don't get me wrong, P.J. I just don't get it."
"Well, I guess he just wants to make sure you don't go beating up kids?" said P.J. with a shrug, adjusting the straps on his helmet. "Your dad is much more chill than mine; he's been very antsy lately, gone for days, and always in such a bad mood."
"Isn't Mr Pete always in a bad mood?"
"Often, sure, but not like this. I don't know what he's up to, but it has to be something important, bad, or both... most likely both."
"Speaking of bad, did you hear about that new chic that started at school earlier? Roxanne told me she has a reputation for causing trouble. You know anything about that, Bobby?"
"I did some digging; she's the real deal, fighting, expulsions... the works. Goes by the name of Susie." Bobby said as he was polishing his glasses before putting them back on. "I think we'd better steer clear of her. We don't want to get into trouble ourselves."
"Maybe," Max crossed his arms, thoughtfully tapping his foot. "I'm not going to look for trouble, but Dad did teach me to stand up for others, so if she starts trouble with me..."
" Oh, boy, this will never end well..." muttered P.J. " Are we on for some raider's tonight?"
" I can't, got to swing by Uncle Mickey, babysitting duties. Going to keep an eye on Morty and Ferdie."
"Where's Mr Mouse going?" Asked P.J. curiusly. "He's been out a lot lately, hasen't he. Its the forth time you babysit this month."
"No clue, and I didn't ask, I just assume he's out with Miss Minnie." Max shrugged. "Not the funnies evening, but it pays well. But no more small talk, we're here to skate, let's go." Max took off on his board, flying down the ramp and up on the other side, making a spin in the air before coming down again. He had avoided mentioning that he had seen Minnie being with Daisy when she was supposed to have been out with Mickey... so something was a little off.
