Appearance
Visual Appearance:
Physical Appearance:
The spiting image of her grandmother, Kako shows off long flowing hair, and sapphire blue eyes. With long lashes, and a small nose, she has remarkable clear skin and is quite cute. She is in great shape, showing off lean muscles, medium bust and a petite figure. Her physique matches that of a track runner, 5'3, and not too heavy or light at 120lbs with an average wingspan. She gets her distinct white hair color from her grandfather.
Civilian Clothes: Kako wears a long sleeve black shirt, fingerless gloves, slim fitting cargo pants and black sneakers.
Hero Outfit:
Speed Suit- An all black skin tight suit worn under her street clothes, made for all types of environments. It helps Kako keep a consistent body temperature, as well as making so their isn't any unnecessary friction when running, swimming, fighting, etc. It's inspiration comes from the compressions Olympic athletes wear under their jerseys. There are extremely thin metallic platelets that rest within the fabric without ruining aerodynamics.
Metal Platelets- With the support team she's developed magnetic plates to hit in the soles of her shoes, as well as in the knuckles of a pair of fingerless gloves. There are also a few dispersed around his speed suit.
Support Batteries - They may look like regular batteries you fit into a toy, but the amount of juice she can get out of these are amazing. They are a long red and black tube, with a plus and minus sign for the respective polarities.
Personality
Bad Habits:
While it serves an actual purpose for battle, Kako usually has a battery hanging from her mouth like a cigarette. It helps worth her quirk, but it's come to a point where it's a genuine oral fixation. If not a battery, she will quite literally suck her thumb without care of judgement.
Goal: To protect the communities she serves in the NJPD, and to protect the people she cares about. Kako has a big heart, and works mostly in outreach and neighborhood watch
General Personality: Kako has seen some improvement as of late. In comparison to always being in her shell, she (while still struggling) tries a lot more in making new friends. In gaining some key figures in the likes of friends like Shinja and Tanzo, Kako tackles the world with a bit more confidence. She hasn't quite tamed her moody and flighty nature, but that just may be who she truly is. In recent events, the girl has discovered a deep passion for philanthropy.
After finally leaving UA, she's found quite the independent streak. She now tackles the struggles of being an adult while still trying to manage her movement as a vigilante, and trying to maintain a real life. In growing up so much in such a short period of time, she still has a lot of growing to do. There is quite a lot on her shoulders.
Personal Life
Mother: Sanae Kumogata (Quirkless, Market Owner)
Father: Bo Flash(Shutter Speed- A quirk that delivers a huge burst of speed directly after a bright flash of light, Former Sidekick retired due to injury)
Siblings: Only Child
Extended family: Kagayaku Josaidoki (Grandfather, Former Pro Hero ThunderClap-Quirk is Static), Mei Kumogata (Grandmother, deceased) Joji Ebisu Sr.( Grandfather on dad's side, Flash- a quirk that does exactly what is says, deceased)
History:
Within this world are inconveniences and things that just seem arbitrarily unfair. Born into a scenario where there is no winning or impressing anyone Kako grew up in a rather hostile environment. With her father retiring much of the bulk was to come from the minimark Sanae owned. There was always a sense of hate in the house hold. A daughter with the powers of a certain major hero, who never came to take responsibility for his family. She was a reminder of him, her lightning quirk, and it's properties... down to the white hair.... all of it. Oyama wasn't the best neighborhood either, so many days Kako would come home from getting bullied just to face the two menaces she called parents. Joji, her father was going to recommend her into local hero schools, so that she could live the dream he never got to fulfill, but that want came with a sharp disdain and extremely strict training.
He would do what he could, making Kako weave inbetween cones, jump throw hoops, slide under incredibly small crevices all to get her Flicker Speed on par with his Shutter Speed. While Flicker Speed was obviously the superior of the two quirks, he set physical cues and parameters that needed to be met; 80 lunges, 60 squats, 1 miles sprint, 10 miles jog, 20 rounds of cone weaving, and 30 laps at the local pool. If she couldn't reach her daily goals before 6pm, she'd be locked out of the house with no dinner. Into puberty came a new training method, to sit in a tub of water in the backyard and emit electricity as many times as possible despite that pain occured back onto herself. There were times where Kako had to sit in the baking sun, and times where she was surrounded in snow in this tub, but her father never relented. This cut throat method made for a speedy prodigy, but a traumatizing upbringing. With entering U.A, she only had one motive. to find the source of her pain and make him pay.
The pro-hero thunderclap, or well the teacher Thunderclap, her grandfather was the reason she was in this mess. All he had to do was own up to his family and take responsibility for his actions. Sure her grandmother giving birth, but that couldn't be helped. Life continued after, and the life given to her was hell. She jumped at the opportunity to live on U.A. campus, and was more than okay with being admitted into class !-B. All of this was just a safe haven for now. She needed to figure out what the next move was, if being a hero was truly worth it.
Kako has recently endured quite a lot. It all started when she faced Hellfire Kitty as a tag along to her fellow vigilante Frank. It really put into perspective how devastating combat could be. She knew from that sole experience that she was too inexperienced. This would be a short lived sensation as she quickly agreed to dodge her own problems, and into the problems of her bestfriend Shinja. On an off the books mission, Kako and her favorites Shinja and Tanzo aimed to tackle the mystery of Aeronauts death against Nocturne's warning. She found ways to be useful, but quickly found herself being saved by her vigilante allies who whisked her away from the battle field when she couldn't go on any further.
NJPD's leader Izumi had some unfinished business left in Musutafu and so did Kako. So the regent would only tuck her tighter under her wing, deciding to train the young woman personally. She'd show Kako what it meant to truly be strong. With this came a surprising encounter with Gigabite, and conquering her tumultuous relationship with her grandfather. After a valiant effort and quirk awakening, Kako lost to the former hero... She would take her beat up body and finally leaving UA officially. She knew she had no business being there anymore... She was on the road to becoming truly strong for her allies and most importantly, for herself.
Quirk
Name: Flicker (Brief Lightning Usage)
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: An extremely emotional battle seems to have unlocked a new level of quirk control for Kako. She has reached a level of voltage that can finally be comparable with her grandfather, Kagayaku's Static. While his quirk is more pure for raw power, she accels in control and application. This is because she can only use her lightning in intervals and quirk usage always had to be used wisely ever since her grueling training as a kid. Kako's strong electricity can amplify her speed, exert lightning bolts, or to add shocking power to her striking. With support items, she can even supercharge herself with batteries or amplify the hidden magnets in her clothes.
Supermoves:
Friction Break- Sending magnetic force to the platelets in her shoes, Kako can glide along surfaces at great speeds. She must watch out, because if she uses this at too high speed she may crash. The idea is to stop and start quirk usage from one foot to the other, allowing her to glide endlessly without the worry of her intervals. With stop-and-go quirk usage, she can plant one foot down to sharply turn and change directions. With platelets on her body, she can use the same magnetic force to soften steep falls.
Stage One/Static- Derived from her fight with Kagayku, Kako can supercharge her skin to shock foes with a powerful jolt. When using a max battery, she also can focus a stronger shock by pressing both fists into someone like his defibrillator technique. She calls this shock paddle, used to harm someone rather than resuscitate.
Thunderclap- With a powerful clap, Kako can send a volley of powerful lightning bolts in all directions in a short 10 meter radius. This move derived from fighting Kagayaku and hitting him with a move similar to his own. These shocks cause harsh damage to muscle tissue and leave burns.
Counter Shock- With inspiration from Shinja's "vacuum blast" , Kako will focus a charge and create an electrical net between her fingers. By pinching and drawing electricity back like a bow, she can launch lightning arrows from a medium range. This charged bolt will shock enemies on contact, leaving them with paralysis and burns around where ever it lands.(Ex: Getting zapped on the arm would burn and paralyze the arm)Max Battery only adds more raw power and delivers a more accurate shock.
Stage 2 / Flicker- With a predetermined path in mind, Kako can temporarily coat herself in lightning to accelerate herself. While she can fork in different ways toward her destination, she MUST stop in order pick a new destination. It is effectively her signature move, as she is known to flicker from one spot to the next in a bolt of lightning. With max battery, she can crush and kick just about whatever she lands on with a loud thunderous boom.
Support Item, Max Battery: With support batteries, Kako is able to boost her electrical might, by applying a thundering shockwave to her electrical attacks.
-Plus: By taking on a polarity she can absorb electricity. This is the standard usage of Max Battery.
-Minus: By taking on a polarity Kako can dispense excess electricity to save herself from frying, and give her a bit more combat time.
-Circuit Break: With multiple batteries, Kako can enter a 5 post interval where she can freely use electricity without worry of intervals. If she does not dump excess electricity she will enter a frying state.
Battery Cannon- Launching a support battery at a foe effectively allows Kako to shock foes from a distance. It explodes on hard surfaces, short circuits technology, and temporarily paralyzes people on contact. While all that is fine and dandy, the speed of the throw is supercharged by static, and can effectively cause a lot of pain off impact alone.
Drawbacks:
-"Frying" after overuse, or use of Circuit Break, Kako is stuck in a drunk-like state for a while. She can use her quirk, but it's about as effective as a person driving drunk. She'll generally do more harm to herself than any villain in this state. It takes quite a while to get to this point, but support batteries tend to speed up the process, as great power comes great responsibilities. (Practically the same as Kaminari turning into a goober when he overuses his quirk)
-Intervals, she cannot use her quirk in a continuous, there are distinct "on" times and "off" times(3posts possible before needng a break post). This leads to her having to put a lot of thought behind each time she uses it.
-Water is an interesting subject, as while she technically can spread her electricity more, it also shocks her back meaning fighting water quirk users is a double-edged sword.
Fighting Style:
In battle, Kako is polished in her ruthless efforts to thwart opponents before they can even move. She is an active combatant who always thinking of her next move. With her dads training in mind, she makes sure that she is a hard target to hit, and that she can properly pace herself. She relies quite a bit on quirk usage to use electricity in intervals to punish her foes. She is good by herself, but also great in conjunction with others often letting herself be decoy while teammates swoop in and strike.
