Passing the exam. Check. Getting into U.A. Check. Nice cozy place for afternoon naps and enjoying the sunshine. Big ol check. After all the hustle and bustle of getting into this place, Hihoshi had found a nice place to just unwind and relax. Her long tail wearily swung to and fro from the bench she had claimed as her spot outside. The rest of her class would be around someplace and if they had a mind to, they'd be able to start chatting up the laid-back donkey girl. Being indoors was a bit too cramped for her liking. Maybe the teacher would do outside classes more often if she asked. Yeah, maybe they would. Her seldom seen olive-colored eyes would gaze up at the sun shining down from above with a peaceful smile. Yup. Today was gonna be just one of those days. One of those lazy days. She sighed with a grin. Just the way she liked them. Her eyes wandered around to see those she would call classmates and found a few faces she wouldn't mind chatting up. But did she wanna sacrifice this perfect spot just to get up and have a chat? Nah. She could wait for them to come to her. After all, she was comfy. And as her dad always said; if you're comfy, you're winning.

Miyuki wasn't quite sure what to do with himself. He was here, sure, at U.A. All of that made sense (as much as it could for the time being). But being out here, on the grounds, with his peers... well, he just, didn't know what to do. Hang out with people? What did that even mean? It hadn't sunk in for him yet, but Miyuki was starting to realize how sheltered things had been at the Magmafields. Not having anyone his age to talk to left a weird hole in his stomach that he didn't know how to fill. Everyone here seemed to get along just fine. Great. Good for them. He wasn't going to take that away from them. He scratched the side of his face. The boy's twisted maw twitched, permanently set into a grimace that looked uncomfortable. He just needed to find that for himself.
Mustering what social energy he had, Miyuki wandered over to a nearby bench. He was just wearing his shorts today. The breeze smoothed over his spiny back, and it was nice to feel the grass with his bare feet. He turned to get ready to sit down, then stopped. Someone else was already here. Someone... big. And not just big compared to Miyuki. This girl looked big big, like she might kick his teeth in if he ticked her off. Miyuki had noticed that there were a lot of Mutants in his year. It was almost comforting, having classmates that looked more like him than most people. Even if, well... he wasn't a mutant. Miyuki swallowed, catching himself hesitating. The boy finally found the courage to raise a single finger-claw, along with his voice. "Uhh... is this, uhh... is this seat, taken? I'm, uhh... new."

Kitana was just passing through the area, not initially intending to stick around as she went off to go do something or other... but she spotted two of her class B classmates chatting by a bench not far away, so she quickly zipped over with her quirk, moving in a blur and stopped a few paces away, closing the rest of the gap at normal speed.
"Hi hi, how's it going?" Kitana asked cheerfully "name's Kitana, I've seen you both around in class but haven't gotten to chat with either of you yet, nice to meet you both properly!"

The furred gal raised one eyebrow as her head turned to see the scaled individual. The eye that he would see first was sizing him up albeit very lazily and half-hearted. Her ear flicked in abject interest which followed with a grin and her eyebrows lifting in a very positive manner. She turned her head to look up at the sky and answered him.
"Well, no one's picked it up and walked off with it yet. So have a seat if ya want, Uhnu."
Then enter the fox girl. Hihoshi had noticed her at least once but like most of the students, she hadn't taken the time to learn things about them, let alone their names. But boy, did that fox girl come at them using her quirk? That was fast. All the donkey knew was that the weather was nice and the air was fresh as could be. She gave Kitana a short wave. "Dunno how much space this bench has but if ya find a spot, help yourself, Red." She patted the bench then gestured to the area around it before placing said hand behind her head.

"...what? That, that's not my name, it's-woah!!"
Miyuki spun around, eyes wide. He had reached out with his arms in a spinning motion in response to the person rapidly approaching them, but thankfully, she hadn't been in range yet. He held his arms out in front of him, breathing heavily for a moment before finding his posture. Did that have to do with her being a Mutant? It didn't seem like it...
Once the danger was over, Miyuki let his arms fall to his sides, offering a half-hearted wave to the girl. "Uhh, hey. It's... going, I guess." He patted his bare chest twice with one of his claws. Though he looked like he was grimacing at Kitana, that was simply his neutral expression, from his narrow eyes to his jagged mouth. "I'm Miyuki. Can't say I remember you. Sorry. Nice to meet you now, though."
Whatever was going on between him and the donkey girl, it was woefully lost on him. Miyuki sheepishly turned back to the bench in question, taking a seat beside the donkey girl also in question. Not too close, mind you. He was still figuring out how he should be behaving. Being around big girls who could beat him up was nothing new to the boy.
He did summon up some courage, though. He looked up at the girl sitting next to him, doing his best to put on a smile. It looked painful. "So... what's your name, uhh, miss? What can you do? If you don't mind me asking."

Kitana looked at Miyuki's reaction to her approach with some interest. That had been odd right? She didn't know for sure, but even with her moving quickly that didn't seem like a normal reaction to someone approaching? Well maybe it was nothing. She made a note to be more careful approaching this boy though, didn't want to hit any trauma nerves if she could avoid it.
Not seeing enough space to comfortably sit on the bench between the two classmates, Kitana would go round the back of the bench and lean on the back of it instead. She didn't really have anything to say here though, as Miyuki was talking to the donkey girl and that didn't give her much room to chime in, so she'd just listen and observe for the moment.

She shook her head and waved her hand dismissively. "Don't mind me; just giving ya a hard time, Miyuki. Name's Hihoshi Murasaki." she stated this to the both of them then looked to them both with one of her thick eyebrows raised questioningly. She could read the scaled boy a bit with his features and his "smile". "My quirk, ya mean? Chains. Nothing special, gets the job done." She says this casually as could be as a chain suddenly descended from above and pierced the ground nearby. She reached over to it and grasped it as it steadily pulled her upright to sitting fully on the bench. Then the chain vanished in the next instance in a ghostly manner. The chains became as wisps that were carried off by the wind.
Hihoshi jutted her thumb to Kitana. "I know what she does already. " she looked back to Kitana as her left eye cracked open while she herself gave a knowing smirk. "I also know she spends alot of time with that one gal from 1-A. That dark-skinned one with the snakes for hair. The one that passed the entrance exam with flying colors. Starts with an S... ah well it'll come to me." She finger gunned Kitana as she went back to a relaxed stance with her arms behind her head. "Hear tell you two are a very close item." She chuckled happily to herself then looked to Miyuki.
"How about you, Miyuki? what do YOU do?" her other leg came up and crossed over her knee as she looked partially skyward with a curious eye laid on Miyuki.

Just talking to this "Hihoshi" girl took a lot of courage. Miyuki was used to being around people bigger than him, though that had been the Heights, and there were plenty of reasons as to why they didn't unnerve him like this donkey girl did. That uncertainty only intensified when a chain shot out of thin air. Miyuki nearly jumped, quickly hugging himself for comfort. Afterward, he realized what he was doing, and embarrassment visibly rushed through his body. He sheepishly put his arms back at his sides, even though he definitely wanted to keep holding himself after seeing something like that. This girl was scary! She had to be a second-year! At least! Most of what she said afterward, something about other students, went over Miyuki's head, the boy too busy trying to keep what cool he had after getting a glimpse of her Quirk.
"H-Huh?"He had also missed that Hihoshi had asked him about his own Quirk. Truthfully, he had been very attentive about that, but he sure didn't want to open up about that. He tapped his claws together erratically. The boy tried to avoid eye contact with the big girl sitting next to him, but that proved difficult. "You, uhh, I mean... it's, dangerous. I, I shouldn't use it here. Suh, sorry." Miyuki gulped audibly. He was going to be having conversations like this on a daily basis?!

Kitana flushed a bit as Hihoshi commenting on her relationship with Sicily "hehe yeah we hit it off, her name's Sicily and she... whoops was about to start gushing. Nobody wants to hear my rambling on like that she said with a grin
then came the topic of Miyuki's quirk, which he seemed unwilling to show.
"Well you can just tell us what it is even if you don't demonstrate it. I can get not wanting to use something dangerous just on a whim." Kitana offered, hoping to ease Miyuki through this and prod the conversation along a bit.

The donkey gal's ears flicked curiously at Miyuki's withdrawal into himself. While it would seem otherwise, she had been paying attention. The features of Miyuki were nothing out of the ordinary but he did cut a rather scary presence for some.
But to Hihoshi,he was just a scaly boy with an extra-wide smile.
"You got nothin' to apologize for; if you think it's dangerous, must be some potent Quirk then." she uncrossed her leg then kicked herself up off the bench then spun on her left leg and began to fall backward...only to have a chain extend horizontally this time behind her as she put her arms around it. It wasn't clear on how it was being held up. For the briefest moment, however, the two present would perceive a bound figure off to the side in a semi-transparent form only for it to fade away in the blink of an eye.
She lazed against the chain as casually as could be then eyed Kitana. "I dunno...if ya ramble,it's a sign yer happy or are very excited at least. If ya don't ramble now, maybe later then cuz I could ramble all day about how much I love napping but then that would be time spent nappin'. And plus..." she snapped her fingers and pointed at Kitana's last words before looking back to Miyuki. "...gal's got a neat point. Can always just say what it does. I got a pretty good imagination 'n such so I don't need a demonstration anyhow."
She put on a very candid, warm smile that felt very nostalgic. Like it was welcoming one home after a rough day or giving one affirmation after seeing someone try their best. To Hihoshi, this was just the smile she picked up from dear ol' dad.

Whe Hihoshi looked at him like that, Miyuki's ears instinctively folded back. There was no reason for him to be this nervous around her. She had been nothing but friendly. Miyuki convinced himself it was just nerves. He hadn't been around people his age before. He had no idea what he was doing. In a way, that confusion was comforting. Neither of these girls seemed to mind that about him, nor how he looked. Sure, Mutants and other kinds of Quirks made people look inhuman, but Miyuki had never seen anyone as transformed as him. Maybe Hihoshi had a point.
Then she pulled a chain out of thin air.
Miyuki blinked, staring into the void of whatever was on the other side of where that chain had come from. Even after it had vanished a moment later, Miyuki continued staring, as if he could still see it. That image was sorely burned into his memory now. He had seen her do that trick before, but that didn't make it any less unnerving for him. Miyuki rubbed his wrists, looking down and away from the spooky donkey girl who had summoned the spirits of the damned... or something. He had no idea what he saw, and he didn't want to know.
"I, I uhh, breathe fire." Miyuki tried to make a face, but the irregular shape of his mouth kept him from making the expression. Instead, it turned into something resembling a scowl, staring down at his claws. "It's not like normal fire, though. Or other Quirks that use fire." He clenched those selfsame claws into tiny, balled fists. He closed his eyes and sighed. "It takes a lot outta me."
He shook his head, like a dog after getting out of water. What a drag. He rubbed the back of his neck, glancing at Hihoshi and Kitana with a sheepish look. "Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer. I'm new to this whole "school" thing."

"Hey don't sweat it, I'm new to the whole 'modern Japan' thing AND the school thing. I'm just hiding how lost I am with it all really well" Kitana said with a bright smile at Miyuki "hometown was suuuuper isolated and traditional, so basically everything is new to me. But that just means more exciting things to learn about and experience. You'll get used to it all same as me I'm sure, and then you'll have all sorts of fun experiences here!"
Kitana's tail wagged excitedly "anyhow breathing fire sounds cool! Even if it is draining that's still a pretty awesome tool to have in your kit as a hero." she said

The more Miyuki glanced around and made even the slightest motion, the more Hihoshi zeroed in on those subtle movements. Even though it plainly looked like she was minding her own business and gazing skyward. There were glimmers of light between her seemingly closed eyes. Something that spoke volumes about how much this girl knew how to pinpoint issues.
She chuckled. "Fire breath is pretty hot. I'd love to see it when ya have some of my family's homegrown wasabi. But...fire's a dangerous thing too. Back home, we had a few times when a small fire started. But it was only because someone was careless. Luckily, there was folks around to help control it and put it out. Then we all had a big laugh after that." she shrugged and tossed her hands up."Was just an honest mistake." She shook her head and stood up to show just how much of a shadow she cast on the ground. "I'm right there with ya on the school thing too. Homeschooled. But I can acclimate pretty fast so we're kind kinda in the same boat...but if ya need me to, I can handle the oars and steer us right."
She put her hands on her hips then issued forth the most powerful gesture her dad had ever taught her towards Miyuki. The strength behind it was overwhelmingly positive. It had the potential to give one hope. The power to raise spirits. The capacity to bolster one's confidence. But more importantly, let the person know things were gonna be alright. What gesture could do all of this and more?
A simple thumbs up.
"We're all in this together! Heck, you're already smiling!"

Miyuki wasn't sure how he was expecting these girls to respond. He had been kind of a bummer so far, and they seemed way more with it than him. Was he being a third wheel? Their unanimous support put to rest any ideas of the sort. It was honestly a little much to swallow. He believed it, from the looks of things, but it wasn't something that he himself believed often. His own tail wagged back and forth. Was this what it was like for the Dragon Heights to hang out with each other? People their age, who had the same kind of life?
He nodded quickly at Hihoshi and her comments. "It's very hot. Miss Flashfire said so. He paused. Did they know who she was?... C'mon, Miyuki, she's a Pro Hero! Of course they know who she is! "I, uhh, I got homeschooled too. Sort of." He scratched the back of his head, rustling some of his mangy white hair in the process. "I'm not sure how much I learned. It was hard knocks kinda stuff, y'know?
"So... have ya met any of the other kids in our class? I've only gotten to know one other guy. I think he's some kind of monkey." Miyuki's eyes widen, and he spreads his arms wide. Really energetic. You would like him, Kitana."

"I met a few back in the entrance exams, we teamed up to slow down that big skyscraper robot so others could escape" Kitana said, screatching her head at who Miyuki could mean about a monkey guy... she probably hadn't met them, or the description just wasn't clicking for her "A big whale girl for one, she's nice. And then there's a bat guy, and I met someone from class A named Sicily as was mentioned who I've gotten to know QUITE well."
Kitana blushed a bit at bringing Sicily up again, but recovered quick enough. "everyone else I've only met briefly, not enough to get a real impression of them, it's been a busy start to the year and all"
