Yanagi's decision on the ninja's room earned an approving smile from Serena, it had been a pretty easy test of character, but Yanagi had passed and that was good. She wouldn't visibly pay any mind to her comments about finding the sword being a sign, but Yanagi might notice her ears would turn a little red as she hid a blush by focusing on the lockpicking
Serena's eyes gleamed as the chest's lock yielded to her efforts and the top swung open to reveal a treasure trove of valuable goodies. Gold, money, fine silks... this guy really was loaded huh? No wonder he was such a scumbag. Seriously who brought this much money on a military ship? What was he gonna spend it on? More importantly than that though, there were more things from Wano for Yanagi and...
"No fuckin way... is that...?" Serena said as she reached in and took out the log pose, staring at it. "it... it IS! HAHA! WE FOUND ONE! YES!"
Serena jumped to her feet, visibly overjoyed as she held up the log pose triumphantly, then turned and hugged Yanagi, planting a kiss on her cheek out of sheer excitement "five years, five YEARS we've been searching for one of these and here it is! I gotta tell Onaka, let the others know to get the chest and the carpet. I gotta share the good news right away!" she said, eyes shining with glee as she took the log pose and dashed off through the marine ship to go find Onaka, completely forgetting to explain to Yanagi what it was she'd actually found that had made her so excited
-------------
Ayane was a bit disappointed by the lack of new things to learn from the marine engines. But she figured just seeing the design was a valuable experience and point of reference for her... she also did swipe the gearbox and spare engine parts, loading them onto a cart. She could always use more raw material to work with, and that gearbox would be useful to improve the engines at least a little bit without too much risk of anything breaking. She'd also rummage through the tool bag to see if there was anything particularly useful in there just in case, but she had plenty of tools plus her mechanical hand and its built in tools, so she probably didn't need anything basic from the bag.
-------------------
Onaka nodded at Kramp's suggestion of Loguetown "Seems like a solid enough plan, I'll contact you if the situation changes, but as you said so long as we lower the flag pulling into port it should go smoothly enough." she said "and of course we only took what we said, I don't want any more fighting breaking out. There was enough blood shed today... except for with Nostra, he probably didn't shed enough... I guess losing all his stuff, maybe serving prison time, and being down an eye is enough for now though..."
Onaka's quills bristled briefly, she really despised Nostra and she'd only known him for less than a day, but she let it go... when suddenly Serena burst onto the scene
"Captain! We've got one, we finally got one!" Serena said as she handed Onaka the log pose
"Got one of... oh!" Onaka said, realizing what she'd been handed quickly, then grinning "Feast?"
"Oh definitely, I'm breaking out all the stops"
"We've got a dwarf passenger too now, so make some mini-sized stuff."
"...I have many questions but... later"
The rapid fire conversation ended as quickly as it began, and Serena ran off to the kitchens to prepare for one hell of a feast. They were going to have to head to port to sell all this stuff anyway, and Serena was in a fantastic mood. And her being in a good mood meant lots of delicious grub for everyone else. By the time everything was offloaded from the marine ship to the Sea Quill, the smell of delicious food was already wafting through the air.
When Kramp offered a bottle of his personal vintage stock and offered to share a drink with her, Onaka smiled and nodded, pouring one out for both of them
"Despite our being on opposite sides, you seem like a good man Captain" Onaka said "you take good care of yourself you hear? The marines need good men like you more than anything else, if every marine followed your example, a lot of members of my crew might not have had the hard lives that led them to this crew in the first place. So... to your health"
Onaka would down her shot "hoo that has some KICK to it, maybe we SHOULD have taken more from your stash... just kidding." she said with a grin.

What was that? An orb? What was- Serena was so happy! Yanagi smiled because Serena was happy. Then she put her hands on her suddenly. Yanagi's senses went on full alert, her eyes shifted to where Serena approached and planted a soft, excited kiss on her cheek. She whited out for a quick second. What just happened? Serena's excited talking was muffled for Yanagi and felt weak in the knees. So much joy flooded her heart and she didn't know how to react. Her weaklyreached for her but she was already out of the room.
Her senses snapped her back as she looked into the chest and spied a Wano treasure which she graciously took and ran after Serena with the clacking of her geta following. She managed to get back up on deck to hear the words of "we got one!"
One what? Yanagi was confused more than ever but was determined to follow Serena wherever she went to find out. SHe was still a bit tired from losing that blood but managed to get to the kitchen doorway and stood on the outside, head resting on the frame of the door. Was she making MORE food?! Will the good news never cease?! "What's...all this excitement for?" she managed to ask between her own excited breath. "It surely must be truly sensational if you not only decided to grace us with more food but also graced me with an angelic kiss on the cheek." She beamed with her now recognizable goofy grin which was highlighted by her brightened cheeks.

Kramp noticed the sudden excitement, and also noticed what Serena had in her hand. He almost wanted to stop them, but seeing the girls so excited and happy as opposed to the snide or cocky pirates he had faced who taken advantage of others and claimed stolen goods as their own while enjoying the act; this was more akin to finding a actual piece of treasure in the middle of nowhere. He decided to stay quiet. They'd need all the help they could get with Operation Whitewater coming up, and the sooner they could get away from what was coming, the better. He really didn't hate people who were forced to be pirates. He just knew how the World Government worked, and he had dedicated himself to protecting those who couldn't fight back. These girls had been like that, but found strength on their own with each other.
He looked back at that moment, before Kramp down the shot with a raised toast. Seeing the minx nearly choke on his whiskey he couldn't help but laugh. "You already jinxed that captain. For my health after all!" He chuckled, and soon his crew while bitter did seem a bit more relaxed with his laugh. "I hope we never meet again, but if we do.... if you can beat me, I'll give you another bottle as a victory gift. Better keep a bottle on the side for me in that case as well." Kramp stated, before turning around and raising the empty shot glass. "Alright men! Get to patching whatever we can up. Scrap the Mast if we have to." He ordered in a far more calm nature that before.
Moxie shifted the lever, reversing the Platform teeth and pulling them back into an inactive state. The Windchasers were slowly tugging off as smoke trails began chugging along. Before long, they were a blip on the horizon for the Quillon Crew as they watched and left a marine crew a bit better than it was when they first encountered them. Tyco was silent, before quickly disappearing before anyone could track him. He had the potential to sabotage everything, but considering that he was a DFU him and sinking ships weren't a good thing. Still, Yanagi's comment did catch Moxie's attention span, as she quickly asked, "Sooo.... What was that about a kiss of some kind?" She smiled somewhat interested.

Serena smiled at Yanagi as she came in, until both she and Moxie brought up the kiss, at which point her face became confused... then bright red. She hadn't actually realized what she'd done in her excitement until just now as the memory crept back in.
"Ah... that was... well... see I..." Serena stammered, trying and failing to string words together as she froze up... causing the food in the pan she was holding to briefly catch fire as the perfect compliment to her face burning up. The brief blaze did manage to shock her enough to reboot her brain though
"So I found a log pose, and I got super excited and kissed Yanagi on the cheek" Serena explained to Moxie, next up was Yanagi's explanation "that compass-looking thing is a super important item that's very hard to find out here in the blues. It's called a log pose, and without it you basically can't navigate the Grand Line. It's useless out here, but in the line it does something with the magnetic fields of islands and points to the next one after it adjusts. Now that we have one, we can finally start exploring the Grand Line."
Serena would continue setting up the feast, setting aside a plate of miniaturized food for Tyco, which Ayane came in and grabbed before anyone could say anything and ran off
"I should be concerned... but my gut tells me it's probably fine this time..." Serena said
--------------------
Onaka chuckled at Kramp's little wager of a bottle to the winner of their next bout, she'd make sure to get something nice lined up for him just in case. Once the Windchasers were fully gone, she let out a tired sigh... and went to go take that shower she'd promised herself. Nostra getting justice didn't make her feel less dirty for having had to deal with him... also she was covered in sweat and marine blood.
Before that though, she'd secure the log pose in their treasure vault, one of the two 'black box' rooms of the ship... and something a lot more full now than it was this morning, but it was very secure and would keep the pose from breaking. The entire ship could be sunk, and this vault's contents would be just fine. Since they couldn't use the log pose till they entered the GL anyway she figured it best to keep it as safe as possible... the things were durable but best not to risk it.
-----------------
Ayane would search the ship for Tyco, she knew the ship better than anyone and while he was small and could become invisible, she knew where to look... and she also knew he was probably having a rough time, alone in a strange place full of people he couldn't feel safe around. The place he once called home now lost to him, seemingly forever... as a Wano exile she understood how that felt
"Hey Tyco! I've got a plate of fresh food made special for you, our chef is really good, you should come have some... and if you need someone to talk to... I understand what you're going through at least a bit." Ayane would call out into the various places she suspected Tyco might've holed up in

Yanagi nodded, not exactly knowing how it worked but knowing exactly what this meant for the crew. It meant they could venture forward into the Grand Line! She at least was aware of the grand Line and how it was a dangerous place. If they had this, she could eventually return to Wano. But right now? It made Serena happy which in turn made Yanagi beam with the brightest smile and pumped both fists into the air. "Oho! I see now why you placed an angelic kiss on my cheek! This means alot! It is like a ticket to the Grand Line!"
She crossed her arms and nodded twice. "I see, I see! It seems like we're soon to embark on a grand romantic adventure just like in the stories told to me as a child! I will celebrate as well!" She withdrew her sake gourd and offered it to Serena when she had a chance to notice in between her cooking. The liquid inside made a thick gurgle as its contents swished within. Yanagi popped it open first and took a generous swig with a bit of the aromatic sake dribbling just a bit from her lips. She exhaled heavily and wiped her mouth. "You've given me food, carried me...it's only proper I return the favor by offering a drink from my homeland to you!"

Moxie suddenly blinked at the sudden blaze, before snickering about how flustered Serena had gotten as she explained things. "Well don't go burning the kitchen down sweety", Moxie grinned toothily as she looked over the Wano girl. She had seen her walking on the deck, as well as when they had picked her up from sea. She was just another victim of a system that was flawed from the start. Seeing Ayane dart by without even a second glance at the two's discussion, the sharkwoman hoped that Ayane hadn't overheard it. It could possibly break the dear's heart. Still, Moxie caught the gourd with her own hand before shaking a finger at Yanagi, "Trying to steal an indirect kiss now? My My, how bold of you. Sorry, but that'll be mine sweetheart. I'm a lover of fine spirits after all!" She stated, before taking a swig herself. Moxie nearly fell over from the drink after swallowing some of it down. "WHOOOO!" She shouted, a blush already forming on her face. "That is some STRONG booze!" She smiled, before handing it back, "Best let her finish chookiing befur you lettera it." Moxie's words began to slur as she became drunk off of simply a swing. It was unheard of honestly. Moxie wasn't the heaviest drinker. That went to Isabella and Freya. The two were honestly built different, but Moxie was not a push over either. "Smells great though.... I think I just got some inspiration." She stated, before stumbling out to get something. Leaving only Yanagi and Serena with a gourd between the two.
Onaka would be able to store the lock quickly, though she did notice that the hull was still damaged by the sea catcher harpoon. It was a patch job repair, and likely the grunts would need to fully go at it to clear the spearhead out. None the less, with the loot they had gained, alongside the Log Pose they were likely set for money. The problem now was finding a place that would buy the loot. The furniture was clearly expensive looking; and while gold was valuable, most places couldn't afford to buy lots of it. This would be the case as well, but if they could find a nobleman who wasn't corrupt out the ass the crew could likely sell it without second thoughts. Still, the other problem came into mind about the newspaper. Serena still hadn't heard the news about what could likely happen; and Kramp's warning was more proof of that. Still, that wasn't for now Onaka. That was for after the shower Onaka, as she'd retreat the the showers to cleanse herself.
Then there was Ayane who was attempting to find a tiny invisible person using a saucer plate of food. After a bit, she'd find the little guy, though in one of the strangest places she wouldn't have expected. "Over here." his voice came from her toolbelt strangely enough; as Tyco quickly came back into view. It was amazing how light he was. She hadn't even noticed when he had gotten into that place; which meant that he was even sneakier than Ayane had previously presumed. "I was in here since you passed into the kitchen. I was gonna sneak a meal out, but then I saw you grab it and hopped onto your back. It was easy climbing you after that." He stated, sounding a bit proud of himself. "And thank you, but I'm fine. I'm not a marine for nothing! You asked me what I was earlier right? I'm a Dwarf. We aren't well known in the blues, so I'm not surprised you don't know about us." He stated, before he quickly attempted to scale Ayane's back to get on her shoulder. Again, it was astonishing how she hadn't noticed since he was so light that even now she couldn't feel him scaling her.

Serena had actually been about to accept the drink before Moxie swooped in... and immediately got drunk off a single swig... Serena marveled at how such a big woman could be so strongly affected by so little booze... but her comment about the indirect kiss was more immediately concerning... she'd almost fallen for that. Sneaky Yanagi was taking cues from the ninja it seemed
"Well now that Moxie went and tipped me off to your little scheme, I'll have to decline the gourd" Serena chuckled, a slight smile showing she wasn't too upset about Yanagi trying to sneak one by her "I WILL however accept knowledge on how to make that drink if you have it. I like to collect recipes when I can... plus then I can make more for both you and Ayane... on that note the stuff already in the bottle should go to her honestly. It's her homeland too and I bet she misses it. Booze is booze to me, I won't appreciate it the same way she will."
For all of Serena's utter obliviousness to Ayane's not at all secret crush on her, she did always seem to be looking out for the girl even more than the rest of the crew at times. In Serena's mind she didn't see it as anything more than platonic familial love though, having been around Ayane so long all the connotations and implications of things went right over her head.
------------------
Ayane glanced down at her little hitchhiker "Oh wow, you're quite good, for me to not notice a difference in weight on my toolbelt or you climbing me, consider me impressed" she said with a smile, she'd lean forward a bit to give Tyco an easier incline to climb up to her shoulder with, then would find a seat and give him the platter of food
"Here you go, just be sure to finish it, our chef gets mad if you waste food, not usually a problem though since she's quite good at cooking." Ayane said "so a Dwarf huh? I heard stories about your people back before being exiled from home, as a little kid I'd spend hours searching all over to try and meet the mythical tiny folk"
Ayane trailed off, memories drifting up she'd thought long forgotten
"Ayane! You're covered in mud! Where have you been young lady?" "Was looking for the tiny folk! In the forest! The stories say they grow plants like magic!" "Ayane dear, you know those are just stories" "No! They're not! I know they're not! It wasn't a fairy tale book, it was one of papa's ol" "YOU WERE READING THOSE AGAIN?" "Uh oh..."
Ayane shook her head, casting away the memories and wiping her eyes a bit, she hadn't shed any tears, but she could feel the wetness building up. So the "tiny folk" were real after all huh? She'd known it, papa was a genius after all, he wouldn't write things that were wrong in his journals!
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Tyco, my name is Ayane, I don't think I introduced myself properly earlier." Ayane said, trying to take her mind off her memories. Nothing good could come off dwelling on those too long

Yanagi blinked a few times in surprise. Was her sake really that strong? It tasted just fine for her. Not enough to get drunk off of one swig. Then again, this was a specially made sake known to her family and she was used to its flavor and consistency by now. She had no real intentions of getting an indirect kiss; she just wanted to share. She frowned a bit and corked up the gourd, sealing its contents inside. Only now did the thought of it occur to her and shook her head. It would have been an interesting reaction to see. At least it was enjoyed.
She watched Moxie leave and a small smile and wave then looked back to Serena. She nodded to her words and closed her eyes. "Ah, you're right." she said wistfully. She held the gourd up to her face and took in the lingering aroma. A wave of pleasant feelings washed over her. The first time she tried this, she was dancing with chopsticks up her nose before night's end which tugged her lips into a woebegone smile. Her heart grew heavier the longer she reminisced , hiding her misty eyes with the strategically placed gourd. She wiped her eyes and put on a bright smile. "That's a fine gesture! I'll go find her right away!"
She dashed out but stopped short and turned right back around to state "All I need is rice, water, koji, yeast, and...willow tree leaves. They're sold as medicine! With it, you can try your hand at making it! I'd love to try it!"
Afterwards, she departed same as before at full speed in search of Ayane while shouting her name at the top of her lungs while accompanied by the sound of her clopping geta.

Tyco appreciated and thanked Ayane for settling down, before eating the food. He enjoyed it fairly well, but kept quiet as he listened to Ayane. "I don't know if there are any dwarves in wano, but we're kinda all over the place sometimes. I wouldn't doubt it, but captain would have had to arrest them all the same.... something about some Uchi-something..." Ayane would know immediately who was being spoken of. Uchisaiga. "Though I've been told we grow plants really well, but I've never seen it." He said, before swallowing his food. "And you did mention it. Is there really anything else you need to explain? You're a good pirate. Bit weird, but I suppose that's possible. Especially if Kramp believes ya'll enough to entrust me to you guys. I don't want to talk about much, but if you see that scary looking woman, can you tell her thank you for me?" He said, before standing up. "I kinda want to eat alone for a bit... but I'll talk later for sure. With that said," Tyco stated, before disappearing on her shoulder, a splatter of sauce only visible on his face as he forgot to use his fruit on it. "Just shout for me and I'll hear you. Ciao for now." Tyco stated, before the sauce stain hopped down and quickly made his way down the hall and into the room that Ayane had found him before. Apparently he had decided that was his safe space.
Yanagi would run off, and immediately Isabella would step in herself, sidestepping the newest member, before grabbing her collar. "Nice hussle girl, but chill out. Let's all eat, celebrate, and introduce ourselves before we get into reminiscing sad things. It's fine to be homesick, but let's save that for after we have food in our bellies." She complimented, before looking at Serena. "Considering the smell, I figure food's ready. I'll call everyone in." She said, before disappearing after rotating Yanagi back towards the mess hall's table. It was not only an impressive feat, but the sheer power behind the leopard minx's grip, and her finesse in manipulating her body indicated she was possibly as skilled as, if not more skilled than her grandfather. Soon enough, a bell would ring, indicating that food was fully ready to be eaten, and for everyone to assemble.
At this point, everyone quickly began to gather in the mess hall, preparing for their meals as they talked with one another, exchanging several gloats and such about the recent fight. Isabella would sit down, last, with everyone except Tyco now sitting at the table. Ayane would be able to notice the food stain that floated above on one of the cooling pipes, seemingly choosing to stay invisible as he likely wanted to watch how the crew interacted as they sat down. Onaka would be the final one to arrive, still a bit damp from her shower. When everyone settle down and their plates were about to be passed, Isabella gave Onaka a look and waved the newspaper from before. If there was any time to mention the need to head to the grand line, it was now. Serena wouldn't like it, as the Log Pose while a very vital part of navigating the grand line was necessary, it was only one piece. They needed to have ample supplies for the trip, repair panels, maps of reverse mountain, and so much more if Serena was as meticulous as she was rumored to be.
If there was a need for any plans to be made, now was the time.

Ayane grimaced at the mention of the name Uchisaiga, she wasn't a samurai, so that man's sins didn't anger her in quite the same way they did Yanagi or the marine ninja, but she still couldn't help but feel disdain towards the name. The turmoil her country had entered because of him had affected everyone, and after her exile she'd been through many hardships because of the reputation people from Wano had because of him. Being a pirate now herself... she could imagine that perhaps he had his reasons for doing what he did... perhaps he wasn't the demon he was made out to be. But he'd still hurt her family, even indirectly... so she couldn't just hand wave it all away.
When Tyco decided he wanted to eat alone Ayane would smile and nod "enjoy then, and if you've got questions or anything you can always talk to me. Oh, and be careful. I designed this ship for human sized people or bigger, so there might be gaps and stuff you could end up stuck in if you're careless." she said, then let him run off. She'd get him some dwarf sized bedding and other necessities and leave them in his chosen safe space later, as well as give that room a once over for any hazards to small people.
---------
Serena always had to marvel at Isabelle's physical prowess, the old mink didn't look like much, but she was crazy strong, and undeniably skilled. It stood out to her every time Serena saw the mink do something like this and never quite got to a point where she was used to it. Just what was that old cat's secret? Still she was right, it was feasting time, so her thoughts shifted to setting up the table with the spread of food she'd prepared. She'd make a note of the sake ingredients Yanagi mentioned, and see about brewing some later, but for now it was time to eat.
Onaka's arrival signaled the start of the feast with everyone not hesitating to dig in, Onaka looked to Isabelle with the paper and braced herself for delivering the news Serena was not going to like... though it was going to go much better now that they had the log pose at least.
"Soooooo, Serena" Onaka said, and immediately Serena's expression shifted to one of dread... she knew this tone of voice. This tone of voice always preceded something she was going to hate
"We got some news before the attack, and we're going to need to set off for the Grand Line soon." Onaka explained, taking the newspaper and showing it to Serena "if we don't, we might never make it without having to risk the calm belt. Ayane's engines can let us travel the belt but it would be a nightmare of sea kings and marine ships the whole way through. We're going to need to run the reverse mountain if not before the day of this supposed wave of pirates, then on it."
Serena read the news article and groaned, holding her face in her hands and rubbing her temples. She was right, she hated what had come out of Onaka's mouth there... but she wasn't stupid. Reading what was coming and knowing the implications... they really didn't have much choice at all. Thankfully they at least had the log pose now... so as long as they could get past the reverse mountain everything would probably work out... maybe.
"This is... not great news. We're not prepared yet to head straight to the mountain, which means getting there before the marines dig in is out. Guess that means we gotta prep to join the rush on the mountain." Serena sighed "luckily we just got a lot of loot to add to our savings, we can stop back at the usual island and sell what we can, and stock up on materials and supplies. But we're going to need to consult another navigator with experience with the reverse mountain. Won't do us any good to get past the blockade only to be unable to get to the Grand Line itself.
Onaka gave a relieved smile, she'd been bracing for a fight here. Serena had been adamantly opposed to going to the Grand Line for years, always saying they weren't ready, but between them besting a task force and the urgency of them going, and the acquisition of the ever crucial Log Pose... it seemed even Serena couldn't muster a proper protest.
"Glad you agree, cause I already told Moxie to set a course accordingly!" Onaka said with a grin, then began digging into the food while an exhausted Serena looked to Yanagi
"Let me know which dishes you like most from the arrangement here, I'll make a note of it and make sure to have us stock up on the ingredients for it. I know everyone's preferences and try to plan accordingly" Serena said

It took all her willpower to avoid eating right away. It was always tradition for her to wait eating in groups like these until everyone was present. It would have been disrespectful if she went ahead. Thus she began thinking of what had happened today. Starving and adrift on a rowboat. Rescued and fed by a blazing headed goddess whom she upped and dubbed a wife without consulting her. A secret she would keep til the end of her days. Quiet reflection. Then a brief but memorable skirmish with realizations abound. More happiness and now this. Food together with the ones that picked her up.
Life was good.
There was zero hesitation as she saw everyone else digging in. Food was shoveled into her mouth with abandon and each bite savored. Exotic flavors danced on her palette and it put a smile on her face. Her heart sang. She looked to Serena with her carefree grin while stuffing a set of skewered meat into her lips. Her chewed, pointing at the leftover stick insistently.
"More of these! Lots more! So very good! Umai! Umai!"

The crew nodded their heads in approval. Most had heard the news before Serena had, with Isabella spreading the suggestion, as well as hearing Serena's exclamations of joy upon finding one of their required items. With that said, Isabella smiled, but then turned serious. "Good, if it's settled on what we'll do, I think we need to set things straight."
Freya munched on her food as Isabella stood up, and spoke. "For the past five years, we have stayed and roamed these waters.... However, I fear that we as a crew have become something I do not want us to be as your instructor. Complacent. We were lucky to face off against a Taskforce that was not only sympathetic towards us when their worst members were taken care of; but that they were already suffering from losses from a previous encounter. To this, I say that we are not ready.... but that's often how life forces itself upon us. We are not ready yet, and while I stayed idle for Serena's concern, we cannot afford to wait any longer. We are not ready..... Not YET." Isabella stated as she clarified the situation.
"Serena, you are so fixated on attempting to be strong without your fruit that you're hampering yourself. From tomorrow onwards, you and I will train, and I will no longer hold back. Yanagi, same with you. As for Onaka; your skills have yet again improved in the heat of combat. Stay true to your style, and you'll have the confidence to face your adversaries. However, from this point onwards, your decisions are what will ultimately choose the fate of this crew. You will have an even greater burden on your shoulders, and you must accept that. This also means that the consequences of your crew is yours as well. Ayane, I hope you understand what this means for you; and that you consider what you must do in the future to improve yourself, as much as your ship." Isabella stated, before raising her glass.
"However.... all of this is food for thought tomorrow. For tonight, as the sun begins to set on our ship and crew... I raise a toast. To new friends, current friends, and of course family; as we prepare for our next chapter of life!"
Freya rose her glass, "HERE HERE!!!" the doctor said, as she began to blush from the drink. The grunts followed suit, along with Moxie, as they didn't let the reality of how things would change hold them back. This was something to look forward to, even if it would be difficult.

Serena paled a bit at the prospect of sparring Isabelle while she wasn't holding back... she knew better than most of the crew that the old Mink was a lot stronger than she let on most of the time. Still what was so wrong about becoming strong without relying on her devil fruit? Her devil fruit was a useful tool, but it was just a tool. She trained to improve her control over said tool but she also needed to train to master use of other things in her toolkit. Her devil fruit lost a lot of effectiveness against various kinds of enemy, she had to be ready for everything.
There was no arguing with Isabelle when she got serious though, the old mink was as stubborn as she was, and they were going to be stuck on a boat together. This training was happening, there was no escape. Her muscles ached in anticipation of the coming punishment.
So she focused on the feast at hand, making a note of Yanagi's preference for the meat skewers and whatever else she noticed Yanagi enjoying in particular... she was focusing a lot on this newcomer today. But it was purely platonic! No way did that declaration of intent to marry her have anything to do with it!
----------
Onaka mulled over what Isabelle said... her decisions would choose the fate of the crew huh... that line looped in her head over and over. She was the carefree one seeking thrills and adventure, Serena was the voice of reason who reined her in. It was better that way... someone had to rein her in or the crew would end up like... her decisions couldn't be trusted. She was the worst one to put this burden on... but Isabelle was right, she was the captain. It was her burden to carry, and the fact she kept shunting it onto Serena was unfair.
Whatever her anxieties... and past mistakes. She was going to have to toughen up and swallow those doubts. Push them down and remain the confident carefree captain everyone knew and loved.
For now though, this train of thought was stressing her out, so she focused on Yanagi "Hey a fellow meat lover, try this on for size then!" she said as she doused a meat skewer in some meat sauce "recreation of a family recipe, me and Serena haven't quiiiiite figured out the secret ingredient my folks would use, but even incomplete this stuff is good! You gotta try it." she said
------
Ayane also took the words Isabelle said to heart and quietly mulled them over. Improve herself as much as the ship? But she already did that, heck her latest experiment with the electrified spear had been a big success... for the amount of time it was functioning anyway. The battery had run out of charge so quick... but that was fine. She could just... keep making replacements. She just had to keep inventing new clever gadgets and improving the ship and everything would be fine.
She knew that was false though, today she'd been sloppy. She'd forgotten the specifics of her cannons in the heat of battle and needed to reference her blueprints despite having used her devil fruit on that countless times. And then her briefcase had been snatched up and she'd had to abandon the fight to go chase it. Sloppy, she should have her go-to weapons and gadgets memorized by heart by now, not have to reference them mid-fight! She couldn't just abandon the crew in battle like that, not when the battles were closer and more dangerous like they would be going forward.
She needed to be more effective in battle too, her new spear had been deadly when standing on a metal surface where she could electrify everyone facing her. But she knew her spear skills weren't up to snuff. She needed a go-to weapon she was more familiar with. One she could rely on, understand to a degree that even if it broke she could recreate it instantly without error. Something she could upgrade as time went on, and one she could master the usage of.
It was time to get back to work on a certain project of hers... she'd abandoned it once in the past years ago, not being able to overcome some of its issues at the time. But she was more experienced and knowledgeable now... she could do it. She just needed to...
Ayane was so lost in thought she stopped eating entirely after a bit, eventually picking up a plate of food and wandering off to go put some of her ideas into practice. She had a prototype to finish at long last.

As Onaka presented the meat skewer in the sauce, the girl from Wano's eyes lit up. What was this wonder ingredient? She did as instructed, copious drenching the skewers in the sauce then using her mouth to tear the meat from the skewer and taste this highly praised ingredient.
The moment it hit her taste buds, herlook changed. She felt blissful. The taste was like nothing she had ever had. It spoke to her soul and told her a story. She didn't know the full story but she could tell this recipe had a great deal of care put into it. Whoever made this recipe, made it for a reason. Something special.Memorable. A moment, maybe? There was so much flavor and story in this one bite. When she was done chewing and swallowing, she was left speechless.
She immediately took a step back and proceeded to bow with her forehead on the table.
"Me, a complete stranger...you've helped, fed, taken care of, took in. You've all saved my life and I will never be able to repay such kindness! You all...will never owe me ANYTHING!" she was practically in tears. "Your enemies are my own! My sword will be yours! The sword that will one day split the ocean in two! This I swear! Yanagi Ebigawa, is here to take on whatever challenge this ship endures and we'll do it together!" She looked to Isabella, tears still in her eyse, a miniscule amount of snot dripping from her nose. "I look forward to whatever teachings you wish to impart on this unworthy soul!" She bowed hard again, her head thumping on the table.

With what Isabella stated having had it's effect; the Minx leopard took her drink, noting each of the big three of their crew was definitely taking her words to heart; though perhaps Ayane had taken it a bit more than normal. Of course, she immediately spit up her ale when Yanagi began to bow towards everyone repeating her statement once more. Coughing, Isabella looked at the girl with what could only be confusion and concern.
Freya on the other hand, quickly bopped her on the top of Yanagi's head once more, "STOP HURTING YOURSELF IDIOT!", she shouted, eyes white and angry as her teeth were sharp. Giving yet another whelp to the young woman, before drinking a bit slower this time, Freya would drink a bit before explaining, "We heard you the first five times you said it, but if you keep that up you'll end up ruining that face of yours slamming it down like that. Medical supplies aren't cheap or easy to find, so if you really want to thank us, avoid doing unnecessary things that'll cost us supplies. This isn't Wano after all; and you're still injured. So, sit back and relax for a while. No one is going to blame you for not being courteous." Freya finished, before Moxie blushed and raised her glass again, "Yeah, wha freya said!" Before the grunts also came in and gave a bit of encouragement to Yanagi, telling her to relax and do away with any of the usual honorifics. They were all family after all.
Isabella on the other hand stayed silent, as she went back to drinking, noticing that the food stain that had been watching them had darted away once more. Tyco was keeping an eye on Ayane, noticing her movements, and quickly attempting to keep up as he watched where she went, and what she did. He'd keep an eye on her, but wouldn't say anything, fearing that perhaps she didn't want any company and that him showing up out of nowhere would be rude. Still, as the night went on, the crew would eventually continue on their way, singing shanties, telling grand tales of the crew's former adventures, and even showing Yanagi some battle scars from their five years of being at sea. Eventually though, all things had to come to an end, and soon Moxie would be back at the brow, pulling up a hammock as Isabella took the wheel. "Remember to wake me up if you need my help old girl." Moxie stated, before quickly falling asleep behind the minx. Of course Isabella smiled, nodding silently as she knew better than to be told that. The entire crew's journey which had been a comfortable five years of coasting along the edge of the East Blue was now about to change drastically. She feared a few things. She feared that Serena would hold her true self back when it wasn't necessary. She feared that Onaka would continue to blame herself for events she couldn't control. She feared that Ayane would end up making a mistake that she never intended and couldn't take back. Then there was Yanagi. The newest member of their family; and one that Isabella was a bit unsure of. She had said her words in order to cheer everyone up; but it was clear that Yanagi was joining only to settle a debt; at least that's how the Minx saw it. It was all fine and well, but the question was if Yanagi was truly going to just follow them for the entire ride, or if she was simply doing what the young and foolish do in the moment. She sighed silently.
Either way, each of the crew and their newest members would begin to enter their night shift and their period of rest while they could. By the time they reached Flamell Island, they would be ready to sell their goods, loot, and restock while they could; before their next chapter in life began.
