Serena watched as Yanagi ran to the edge of the boat and loudly announced her name and origin, trying to draw the enemy attention to her in some sort of act of self-sacrifice. She was about to scold the woman when they suddenly had to turn rapidly to deal with an enemy Sea Catcher attack. Serena grabbed a rope line and used her fruit to negate the forces exerted on her and get a nice little charge up in the process, but Yanagi wasn't so lucky. Serena saw her go over the side, and she acted without thinking.
Using a rope Serena swung over the side, a risky endeavor considering what would happen if she hit the sea, but she knew she wouldn't. Swinging down she intercepted Yanagi mid fall, arresting her momentum with her fruit and redirecting it into the swing of the rope so it would launch them both upwards back above the deck, Yanagi in one of her arms, the rope in the other. She wasn't done with that just yet.
For a moment the two would be rushing through the air at high speed, Yanagi held tight in Serena's arm as she made eye contact.
"That was reckless, and naive, and just plain crazy!" Serena said sternly... then smiled "but I can't say I wasn't impressed... look... This whole future wife business. I've been burned before when it comes to love. I'm not ready to dive in headfirst again. But if you're serious about this, really serious. I'm willing to give you a chance. But only if you agree to take it way slower than you have been."
The two would reach the height of their swing, the rope in Serena's other hand pulling taut, normally it would have made them jolt to a halt, but their stopping was surprisingly smooth thanks to Serena using that jolt as another energy source. The whole swing had been a ploy to charge up for what came next, and now it was just about time.
"And before all of that, we need to teach these marines who hurt you a lesson." Serena said as gravity began to reassert itself "attack with me, we're severing that big chain"
Serena let go of both Yanagi and the rope and drew her sword again, raising it up as she channeled the energy she'd just built up into it.
"One Sword Style..." Serena intoned, plummeting towards the anchor chain where it connected to the Sea Quill "Kinetic Cutter!"
Serena slashed down at the chain with all her power, the chain was too large for her to cut through the whole thing by herself, but she'd slash clean through one side of one of the links, leaving the other up to Yanagi so they could sever the chain together, if Yanagi did her side as well the link would be cut in half, and the anchor chain would fall away into the sea. She'd grab onto the harpoon itself to make sure she didn't fall into the sea after completing her slash, pulling herself back on board
---------------- Ayane cursed as she saw the breach in the hull leaking water, the sudden turn of the ship hadn't been a problem for her, she'd designed those turbines, there was nothing they could do that would surprise her after all. That leak could be an issue if left unhandled though... but there wasn't much she could do about it in the middle of a fight all on her own. She at least needed another set of hands helping out. She couldn't easily remove the harpoon swiftly either, not while it was being pulled taut by the anchor chain. Once that was gone she could get some tools in there and cut it out, then weld the hole shut with metal panels. But that was going to take time... and the water was leaking now, so she needed an extra set of hands to get her smaller metal panels to weld to patch the leaks before there was too much sea water for her to work in this hallway.
"Hey! I need to commandeer someone in the hall here, get me scrap metal from the hold asap!" Ayane called
-----
Onaka grunted as the ship turned to face the enemy head on right after she fired the payload. The sea catcher harpoon was a problem, but them facing the enemy head on was good. Their rotating cannons had amazing range of movement, but when facing away from or with only one side facing the enemy not all of them could fire at a target... no amount of rotation could make them fire through their own ship after all. But when facing head on that meant both sides cannons could take aim at a target, though the back cannons were facing away now. Even so that brought them up to 7 cannons brought to bear on the Marine ship.
And the payload appeared to be working... oddly though the enemy began flickering in and out of sight. It didn't really matter, they were anchored to the thing now and it was straight ahead. Even a child could aim the cannons in this situation, to say nothing of her crewmates with years of experience. But it raised a question as to why it was doing that... if it was some invention then the payload shouldn't have been making it freak out... as devastating as the thing was it didn't do a whole lot more physical damage than a regular cannonball... it did less actually.
That meant the source of the cloaking was something the smoke DID affect.
"Ah hell, they've got a DFU!" Onaka announced "everyone on guard, I don't want some invisible marine sneaking aboard! Well... sneaking aboard after he recovers from the payload anyway. Now open fire with everything we've got!"
Onaka and her crew would then begin opening fire with all the cannons. It would be a devastating assault. The Sea Quill was built for two things, speed and firepower, and while speed might not be a factor in this fight, the Marines were about to learn a whole lot about firepower

When she went for a tumble, Yanagi immediately thought to herself about how foolish it was to make such a declaration , fearful that her plummeting right now was going to be the last thing she said. But a good portion of her own mind assured her it would be worth it. At least the world would know who she was. Or at the very least, the ones that wronged her. If she went, she was certain those she befriended would avenge her.
A rough yet familiar embrace took hold of her. All she could emit was a small yelp akin to that of a puppy. When she opened her eyes, she stared back into Serena's and her face froze in a state of wonder and bewilderment. Hermouth almost turned into a frown when Serena berated her...but brightened more and more she spoke afterward about how impressed she was. She had to close her mouth as she continued to smile so much it nearly hurt. Ah, so she wanted to make this slow and here she was announcing her intentions without a care or thought to Serena's.
"You think I could cut the waterfall on my first try?"
"Well you did it just now!"
"Beeehahaha! That was the result of years of training and patience, willow tree! Patience more than practice!"
"Patience, huh?"
"That's right! If you have it, anything can be achieved be they promises or something you think you'll always fail at."
She had already seen Serena as her savior. Now it was cemented that she was the one she was meant to be with for life.
Through thick and thin!
She was going to fight the ones that did this to her. And Yanagi couldn't be happier to support her. She smugly smirked as she looked at their target.
As Serena unleashed her attack, Yanagi wondered how such power existed within Serena and what it was. But only briefly as she focused by sheathing her sword and using her left hand to draw the blade quickly.
"One Sword Style-Byakko: Tigerclaw!"
Three strikes quickly followed her draw which seemed more like a claw than an actual sword strike. She aimed each one at the same spot to complete the cut on the chain. When she completed the third cut, she immediately reachedup to hug Serena's waist with hopes her "strength" would carry them both to safety.

Serena's Kinetic Cutter did it's job to an extent.... unfortunately, due to the thickness of the chain, as well as how despite her blade's quality being slightly better than others, it shattered mid slice..... Then, in a flash of silver and black, Yanagi continued the momentum of the broken blade's work. A perfect unison of the pair's attacks chopped into the link with enough force that in a split second they were falling they severed the chain, a resounding, *CHINK* as the link was cleanly slice, though shards and fragments of Serena's most recently made blade had fallen into the water. Still, being able to grab onto the harpoon before she fell into the water, Serena felt her grip get tugged a fair bit as Yanagi grabbed onto her waist, her own weight being a bit much and straining her grip. They had achieved their goal to free the Sea Quill from the Sea Catcher, and with that said, they'd be able to get back up onto the deck.
Immediately after Ayane said that, Isabella dashed down. She had already been on the way as she saw the harpoon dig in, making herself useful as she dove and leapt over Ayane towards the leak. The fishman grunt followed immediately after, pardoning himself as he moved down to follow Isabelle. He could handle minor repairs, but his focus wasn't on that, as he immediately smacked the spots where the leaking was coming from the harpoon's edge, using his increased strength to seal the hull temporarily. Isabelle would go further down towards the hull, as she collected a scrap panel that Ayane could use, before rushing back, "Weld it down! At least quarantine the engine room and then get on my back, and we'll head up to deck so you don't get us into further trouble!" Isabella was brash and to the point now, her old age seeming less like a factor as she was seemingly revived to handle this problem and secure their lifeline.
Onaka's orders were followed to a T and quickly everyone was on guard, but more than that Long arms had descended and piloted the other cannons, "Get a load of these Quills!" he stated, as he began to unleash a barrage of fire alongside his captain. Their opponent wouldn't go down without a fight though, as they attempted to bring back the chain, only for it to snap, and they were forced to keep fighting. By no means were they effective, the smoke bomb basically affecting their overall judgement and operation. The helmsman did however attempt to turn the ship upon hearing that the Sea Catcher broke to get the cannons ready, but unfortunately it was a bit too late, as cannonballs began to rain into the hull of the ship. That was until suddenly something changed. In a whirlwind of movement a gale began to blow from within the battle battered ship, and a few cannonballs were slowed down enough to be stopped short. The two crews were close enough now that they could see each other a bit more clearly.
Atop the broken upper cabin of the marine ship, a large burly man with a massive paper fan stood, his coat indicating his position as Captain of the ship that was attacking the Quillon Crew. He wore the usual cap, but had a goatee that made his face seem longer than it actually was. What's more, the crew could see that this was no longer just a normal group of marines, but a Taskforce. In fact, it was obvious on the side of their battered hull, Taskforce No.66 Windchasers. None of the members knew anything of this taskforce; but Yanagi could confirm it now. These were the exact people. Though it was a blur at the time, she had remembered how they ambushed her, coming from nowhere, before buffeting her with wind and numbers. The invisibility seemed to be explained by Onaka stating something about DFU, whatever that meant; and the man with the massive paper fan.
The man would take in a deep breath before shouting, "SURRENDER OUR PRISONER AND WE WILL FORGIVE AND DISMISS THESE TRANSGRESSIONS PIRATE SCUM! WE KNOW YOU HAVE HER!" His voice carried along the wind, as the captain would react to the next volley by blowing away a few more cannon balls. He wasn't undefeatable, but it was clear who the head honcho was, and that this was a Taskforce group. Marines were recovering by the second, and though many were down, until they found a way to deal with the annoying captain, it was clear that this was actually a major fight. The Quillon crew didn't look scared though. If anything, being without a good fight had made them even more determined, the fishman beside Onaka saying, "I think we can take'em captain.... We just can't take that guy." Most of the marines wouldn't recover enough to fight effectively for several hours, but it was clear that their biggest concerns were the DFU and the Captain. Being through a dry spell made the pirate grunts hungry for action.
But it wasn't just that.... "Ain't no way we're letting him have his way.... right captain?"

"Of course we aren't, get ready to fight. They might have a DFU or two, but so do we. Besides, Yanagi is our guest, I'm not letting these shitheads take someone off my own damn ship... especially not after seeing what they do to their prisoners" Onaka said as she stepped away from the controls and handed them to a grunt "take my place, he might be able to block a few cannonballs, but so long as he's busy doing that he's not busy fucking with us. Also have your gas masks ready."
With something like the payload, everyone had to have gas masks on their person at all times. Usually this was so they could board an enemy ship affected by the payload and either kill or capture the incapacitated enemies... or just waltz aboard, steal the treasure, and leave the enemies alone. It depended on the situation. But more important than that by far was having the masks available to deal with the kind of situation they were in now... where there was a danger of the smoke being turned on them. Either due to weather conditions, or someone like this enemy captain... they needed to be careful not to get themselves disabled by their own secret weapon
Onaka would come out on deck, twirling her twin daggers in her hands. If this was going to be a serious fight, she was needed out here more than behind the controls of the cannons. At this range nobody on the crew would have any trouble landing shots. They were trained well enough for that, so they didn't need their top marksman there.
Over elsewhere on deck she saw Ayane being brought out by Isabelle, perfect. She was usually away from the fights, but she was stronger than she gave herself credit for. And they were going to want to bring everything they had against the enemy captain and their mysterious invisible marine.
As for this marine captain, she had quite enough of the marines and their high and mighty holier than thou attitude. Calling her and her family scum while acting like they did. Nobody here had turned an entire species into legal slaves, or dismantled a thousands of years old culture just because its people had fur and claws. Nobody here tortured prisoners for fun when their only crime was being born a certain place. Nobody here was the lapdog of a group of self-proclaimed gods who tortured and murdered everyone who wasn't part of their exclusive little group.
This ship, this crew, it was a home for the people that marines like this ostracized. People who were different, people who were amazing in their own ways that the world government didn't appreciate. Scum? Maybe they were by this world's standards. They didn't fit into the neat little mold the world government had laid out for them... and they refused to be reduced like that. Refused to be herded like cattle and slaughtered at the whims of some arrogant "gods" for no reason other than being different, or curious, or being born somewhere the gods didn't like, or whatever bullshit justification they were using next.
Yanagi had only been on this ship less than a day, but she was as much part of the crew as anyone else here. Rejected by the world and the powers ruling it, she was one of them. An outcast, a misfit, someone who needed a home to return to because the world at large had taken it from her. She was part of their family now... and Onaka wasn't about to let the marines take away any more of her family without a fight!
"If you want her..." Onaka shouted back
----------------
Serena watched her blade shatter with dismay "Not AGAIN DAMNIT!" she cried "that blade lasted me years! I thought I was finally done having to get replacements! FUCK!"
Her dismay didn't stop her from grabbing hold of the harpoon and catching Yanagi though, the jolt would've been a problem if she didn't just absorb it, but with her power Yanagi would find herself gently coming to a stop in her arms, then being dragged back on board with her.
Assessing the situation, Serena figured they were dealing with a DFU and a dude with some incredible brute strength. She actually kinda regretted not thinking of using a fan herself since she was similarly blessed with brute strength and had a fruit power to crank it up even further. She was definitely stealing that fan later... but anyhow... So they had a marine who could turn invisible but was currently affected by the smoke and flickering in and out of view. Annoying if they recovered... but frankly the marine were in more danger sneaking aboard and messing around in the ship Ayane designed than they were.
That left the captain, the man Yanagi had described looking down on her and enjoying every cruelty inflicted upon her. Torturing her just for the fun of it.
"Sword!" Serena called, prompting a crewmate to toss her one of their spare blades. It hadn't happened in a little while, but they were used to Serena breaking blades when going all out, so there was always a few spares lying around to toss her way. It wouldn't hold up if she used her devil fruit with it for more than a strike or two... but it was still a sword.
Serena glared at the enemy captain with fury in her eyes. Yanagi might notice that hidden radiance she'd described earlier flaring up, as if it wanted to become unhidden and wash over the enemy... but it didn't. Even so anyone looking at Serena's face could feel the pressure of her cold rage. This man... he was just like them.
There was no way he was getting to lay another finger on her future wi... Yanagi. Damn that woman's energy was infectious or something.
"If you want her..." she shouted back
-----------------
Ayane quickly quarantined the engine room, the last thing they needed was someone sneaking in there while she was busy elsewhere... also keeping the seawater out was crucial since the fuel lines were created by her fruit for now and would vanish if too much seawater got on them.
Ayane was brought on deck by Isabelle without complaint. It was better to let the crew handle minor repairs like that anyway, from the sound of things fighting up here had gotten pretty rough. She didn't see herself as a warrior, but her powers did let her prove quite the nuisance to the enemy. She'd even won a few fights of her own over the years. Isabelle and the others kept saying to give herself more credit in battle... but she was an inventor and a shipwright, not a samurai like Yanagi, she just didn't see herself in that light.
Even so, she'd bring all her strength to bear here, as she heard the enemy captain make his demand.
She knew... all too well how the marines treated her people. She'd been lucky to find Onaka when she did, recently exiled, being tormented by marines at every turn and only barely escaping time and time again using her wits... Onaka had found her. Wounded, alone, scared, sobbing and wanting to just go home more than anything. She'd just about given up on her inventions, all they'd ever done was blow up in her face and hurt her... or those close to her. They were why she couldn't go home anymore... maybe it was best if she just put her tools away and gave up.
And then the Quillion pirates had come along, fighting off the marines pursuing her. A happy coincidence, but then Onaka heard her story and extended a hand down to her. Asked her to join her crew, to have a new home! And to hone her craft, not giving up on her dreams or the talents that made her special. That moment always shone through in her memories when she thought of the cruelty of marines.
The Sea Quill and the people aboard it were a haven from the marines. A home for people with no home to return to, like her... and now like Yanagi. And this damn fan-wielding scumbag wanted to take Yanagi from them? To steal her home away from her again? Like hell was she letting another one of her people go through that again. This was where Yanagi belonged now!
Ayane formed a gun in her hand and leveled it at the enemy captain. "If you want her..."
---------
In unison the three finished their declaration "COME AND TAKE HER!" "COME AND TAKE HER!" "COME AND TAKE HER!"

The moment Yanagi let go did she turn and her eyes trembled at the sight. This one. Those eyes. Reminding her of her time captured. Back then, she was frightened because she had just been through a trying ordeal and had been without her sword bestowed upon her by her grandfather. But now her eyes trembled with something that was not fear but a simmering anger. She reeled it back in as his words rungout.
Her hands instinctively fell upon her hilt. Then something else caught her completely off guard.
The combined declaration of the three she came to know aboard this ship disrupted the balance to Yanagi who nearly stumbled back. She reflected on each moment short as they were as if they were ingrained fond memories. her eyes closed briefly and she smiled softly. Yes. These were friends and more. A family.
She held her blade high above her head straight into the sky. "And the only prisoner I am is one of LOVE! Zero percent chance you can take me away from THAT! Approach and meet the blade of Mizuwari-ki!"

"Come and Get Her!", The other crew members chimed in with their officers.
The captain grunted. He knew his most of his crew were not capable of battle now. On one hand, he could run away.... But on the other hand he would be immediately demoted if not the taskforce dissolved. He had too much riding on this, and upon hearing their declaration he was a bit befuddled. Pirate defending a prisoner?! It was preposterous, and with how that girl had kept stating she was from Wano and things he knew they knew where she came from. Still, that wasn't his concern to think too hard about. They were a criminal and prisoner transport crew, and the captain of the 66th Taskforce would not be embarrassed twice in the course of a week!
"Marines!.... Prepare to board! Ramming speed!". Instantly the plumes of white smoke that mixed with the black billowed thicker, and the group began their face off as the engines of the Marine Windchaser began heading towards the Sea Quill. Immediately, shots began to be fired, a majority of them landing short. In a few moments, the crews would clash. Moxie then cried havoc as they approached, "Take this you fucking Hypocrites!". As she pulled a lever, activating the battle platforms and forcing them to extend. Immediately the secondary turbines lost power to divert it towards the platform's teeth that were beginning to spin rapidly, before collision occurred, "Brace for Impact!".
In that moment, between the anticipation and the firefighting between the two there was a momentary lull. Then..... The sound of metal vs wood rang through the sea, the impact jarring them all, but giving Serena a massive boost to her Devil Fruit, almost too much as the vibrations began to cause aches in her body starting at her joints.
Instantly, Marines began to attempt to flood into the Sea Quill, attempting to destroy the crew by using their own platforms as a means to close the gap, but it ultimately funneled them, creating the perfect defensive point, two to be exact that any of the fighters could engage upon as they were onslaughted by no less than 5 to 6 marines at a time, with the Quillon Grunts immediately falling into combat with any who slipped by. They had an objective, and now they were taking back everything.

Serena grit her teeth as she began absorbing energy from all the vibrations until she was at a full charge, it ached holding onto a full charge for too long, but this was still within her ability to handle, and now the enemy captain was going to get it.
Looking to Yanagi Serena flashed a smile "give those marines hell, I'm gonna have a little 'chat' with your tormentor real quick, don't worry about me here. I have some special abilities that'll make a meathead like him a piece of cake. Be back soon~" she said, then used shave to launch herself at the enemy captain, she'd enhance her incomplete shave technique with a burst of her stored up energy, both to free up some room in her body to absorb incoming attacks again, and also so she'd close the gap between them in record time to catch the guy off guard
"hey there. I heard you're a biiiig fan of torturing people for fun." she said with a sweet smile dripping with enough venom to melt steel "why don't I show you just how much fun it is to be on the receiving end of that"
Serena would ram her fist into the man's gut while she had the element of surprise from her shave, a gut punch from her was already going to hurt, her 6 foot tall body packed with muscles wasn't just for show... but then she'd add "Hemorrhage Pulse!
A shockwave of stored kinetic energy would be released inside the man's gut, causing internal damage and bleeding. It would've been more deadly if she'd targeted something like the lungs or heart, but the gut had a lot more painful organs to damage. And she appeared to be looking to punish this man a bit before taking him down.
----------------
Ayane looked at the incoming swarm of marines using her own landing platforms to try and board them back. Well that wouldn't stand now would it?
As the marines closed in on what seemed to be a solitary girl wielding nothing but a pistol, they'd be surprised to see small spherical objects manifest in the air all around them... objects that began glowing with dangerous light in the instant before they exploded in unison, probably killing some outright, and blowing the others in the blast radiuses off the platform and into the sea below.
"How do you like my cluster bomb technique? Perfect for groups of lowlifes like you~ I probably COULD keep doing that and keep you at bay easily buuuuuut" Ayane giggled, then a mechanical looking spear would form in her hands, the tip sparking with electricity briefly before returning to looking like a normal spearhead "I've got a bunch of new toys to try out on you boys, so I do hope you keep coming. I always need new test subjects~ "
Ayane seemed to be getting absorbed in the thrill of testing her creations and getting valuable data, her goal might've still been to protect Yanagi, but unfortunately for the marines trying to board them that meant 'playing' with her 'toys.'
-----------
"That girl never ceases to terrify me with how sweetly she says those things. She really just doesn't even notice how scary her ability is." Onaka said with a shudder as she approached the other boarding platform with marines charging towards her "honestly you boys on my platform are lucky, at least with me your deaths will be swift... I have no idea what she's going to do to your comrades over there... but anyway..."
Onaka vanished in a blur of motion, appearing on the other side of the group of marines already on the platform
"Razor shave!"
The marines she'd passed by would find themselves having been cut numerous times by the twin blades Onaka wielded. Onaka had learned her shave from Serena, but unlike the redhead she didn't have a devil fruit to supplement a lack of technique... so she'd gotten much better at the technique itself than Serena through rigorous training. Her natural combat skill as a Mink helped too of course
"Isabelle, you hang back and pick off anyone who slips by us, keep yourself and the other minks on special alert for that invisibility guy, see if you can sense him with your other senses if he tries to slip aboard. Freya, keep doing what you've been doing. And Moxie! Feel free to come up. We're locked to them now, we don't need steering. Come join the fun yeah?
Onaka shouted out her orders as she reset her stance, readying her blades for the next wave of marines.
----
With both platforms guarded by officers of the crew, Yanagi would have the choice of where to go, either relieving one of them from their position to let them back up Serena, or going over to the enemy ship herself to support Serena.

Everyone leapt into action and Yanagi would take action herself. The last time, these ones caught her unawares but now she had others to rely on and help. But that didn't mean she had to foist the burden of handling her former captors upon them alone. What stood in the way of the one who took no short amount of glee in giving her pain was a bunch of grunts.
After seeing the fan in action and the combat abilities of the others, projectiles of Ayane might not be up to snuff and cause more harm if they were blown away by that fan. Onaka seemed to have things handled and Serena was off to handle the leader of this other crew herself.
"The least I can do is reduce their numbers!" she took a single step forward, shifted the position of herblade to her right then drew it back. "One Sword Style-Seiryu......" she swung it to her left while rotating her entire body, drawing in the marine grunts in close against their will with the sheer pressure of the swing alone. At the end of her swing, she managed to sheathe it as the pressure of the wave drew them in closer. SHe then drew her weapon in the next instant and unleashed an equally forceful shockwave from the quickdraw swing, sending all of the ones close to her flying off backward. "...Dragonshout!"
If the way was clear enough, she'd make her way toward the man with the fan who she had wanted payback against.

Despite their numbers, it was clear who the more intimidating and superior force was at the moment. The Quillon Crew was rearing to go, and this was double so for it's other officers, as Isabella was already on the duty that Onaka had suggested, always being one step ahead of her captain, but glad she was quick to form strategic choices on the fly. She was leaping from one marine to another, quickly dispatching them with a combination of saber and dagger play, being both Serena and Onaka's teacher.
Moxie was quick to take the call as she didn't even bother taking the stairs down, instead leaping and striking down on a poor marine who had attempted to take aim at her thinking she was an easy mark. The man was basically crushed under her ground slam as Moxie grinned with a terrifyingly toothy mouth. "This is where the fun begins." Before moving in and clocking the first Marine that tried to cut her clean out.
Of course while the members could hold their own, a pair of marines slipped by and made their way into the hull, but not even a moment later was one literally kicked up and out of the stairwell as he performed a pitch perfect willhelm scream as he soared through the sky and into the water. The other man was less fortunate, as an instant later a massive dent bulged out from within beside the open door. Out stepped freya, massive bag in hand, and dragging a now unconscious marine out who's face matched his the dent's. She'd toss the man back onto his ship, her strength easily surpassing her appearance as she yelled, "ANYONE WHO GETS HURT IS GONNA HAVE TO GO WITH NO PAIN MEDS! WE ARE OUT!". The obvious irritation in her voice very obvious that she wasn't kidding. She stayed by the hull door, guarding it as her companions did their work.
Ayane's first blast had indeed been enough to deter them alongside the electrical weapon as they attempted to poke at her from a stupidly long distance to test her defenses. Some attempted to flank her, though instantly moxie was on top of those fools to give Ayane room to focus forward.
Onaka's weapons slashed through her foes like butter, several arch of blood splattering as Onaka would find herself surrounded, with several marines all attempting to strike her down in unison.
Yanagi would find her attack particularly devastating, though it clearly wasn't fully up to her usual standards, but it was a given considering her recent recovery from a near starving state. Further more, Yanagi would spot enemies beginning to line up against the opposing ship's guard rail to take aim at their targets with rifles. While she had multiple people to deal with, she was likely the best one capable of handling the newest problem before they fired.
Then there was Serena. Upon appearing in front of the captain who hadn't quite expected to face her, but he had already been in mid prep to take a swing at the opposing crew, obviously attempting to blow them over and open up a path for his men. His eyes widened in shock before he grit his teeth and pulled the fan close to block the gut blow. Still he felt the pressure of the attack though Serena could hear him grit, "I-iron Body!", before being launched back a good three yards into the mast as he spewed a tiny bit of blood, feeling the aftershocks despite blocking. The man coughed up a bit, before wiping the blood off, "I ain't got any idea what you meant by torture, but it's clear which side is without justice. But you forfeited your right to a fair trial already...". He said, before placing the folded fan atop his shoulder like he was holding up lumber. Charging forward, he made an overhead strike towards her face. "For JUSTICE!"

Serena wouldn't even flinch as the man's strike struck her face... and would stop dead in its tracks thanks to her devil fruit. Her gaze was cold, burning with a venmous fury that oozed out of her "Justice huh? You marines just love talking about it, like you have the slightest idea what it actually is"
Serena would reach up and grab the man's arm and squeeze, using the energy from his attack just now to make her grip ever tighter and crush the arm "I'm well aware there are plenty of awful pirates out there, but I've met even worse marines. Seen whole villages burned to the ground because they wouldn't cater to your whims, seen men and women tortured for the entertainment of your higher ups, seen entire islands living in fear of their so-called protectors because of how corrupt they were. Justice? You people don't know the first thing about it... it's tiresome being talked down to by people so ignorant all the time."
With a grunt Serena would spin and hurl the man into the mast again. "that iron body of yours is interesting though, keep using it. Maybe if you endure my attacks long enough you might have an opening to turn the tide... maybe"
She knew fully well he wouldn't. His physical strength and wind gusts were both of no threat to her. His crew was outmatched too. Originally she just wanted to drag the fight out a bit to vent some frustrations onto him. But seeing he had some sort of technique to increase his durability somehow... now she was in it for personal gain as well. How had he done it? That fan couldn't have stopped her strike alone... so it was a body technique... something like shave maybe? She'd only really seen cipher pool using shave consistently around her, mostly to come and go while reporting to the dragons, but she knew from eavesdropping there were other powers they had... was this one of them?
In that case it was one she could learn, and then one she could teach the others. This man had just gone from a scumbag to beat up for fun to a valuable source of information. She was unaware of Yanagi coming to get involved in the fight, instead focused entirely on her own battle. She only spared a little bit of attention for the lingering possibility their DFU would pop up to attack her, since he was the biggest unknown in this fight for now.
"Come on, try swinging at me again. I'm sure it'll work this time" Serena taunted
--------------
Onaka quickly found herself surrounded, not a bad strategy for the marines, not wanting to line up and be cut down again... unfortunately for them she was a porcupine mink, and as they came in at her in unison they just opened themselves up for more pain
"Pincushion!"
Onaka bent over as the quills on her back grew out violently, skewering the marines around her as they came in. She'd then rotate to throw them off of her quills so they wouldn't weigh her down, then hopped back to let more marines file onto the landing pad and prepared to hit them with another razor shave.
"This is one of the task forces we were spending so long preparing to deal with? Man it's almost a letdown after taking 5 years to ready ourselves. I'm not sure if Serena was overselling them or we're just overprepared... but these guys are chumps!" Onaka chuckled
--------------
Ayane giggled as her test subjects became wary of her, she might not have been as much of a fighter as the others, but these poking and prodding attacks were jokes.
"Come on boys, I can't test out this thing's power if you're all hiding over there~ Oh well guess we're going for test two then."
Hopping back onto the ship proper, Ayane touched the landing platform with the tip of her spear and pressed a button on the shaft, activating the electrical current that would shoot through the metal landing pad and electrify the poor marines standing on it. Considering the voltage passing through them while diffused over an area... it seemed the marines were right to not want to be struck directly by the thing.
"Oh my, output is higher than projected! Lucky me~" Ayane said sweetly, then spotted the firing line of riflemen. That was a problem... she couldn't risk making explosives that far away though, Serena had their captain busy but overusing her power to make explosions was just asking for trouble, not least of all because the more things she created in succession the greater the chance her concentration would slip and she'd make something incorrectly. Yanagi had crossed to the enemy ship already and could maybe take care of it, but just in case she didn't... Ayane needed to slow those riflemen down long enough for her to refocus a bit and make a full scale attack to wipe them out.
So for now she just made a single smoke bomb in her hands and chucked it at the railing the marines were lining up at. It was normal smoke, not payload smoke, but it would still prevent them from acquiring targets for a little bit.
"Isabelle! Moxie! Take over for a moment. I'm gonna salvo and wipe these grunts out in one big swoop!" Ayane called as she turned the electrical spear off, it'd take a little bit to recharge anyway after diffusing it's full voltage out like that. She made a mental note to improve the power supply on the thing when she got the chance. But for now... she pulled a blueprint out from a carrying case at her side, reading it over to refresh the details of the machine in her mind so she could replicate it properly. She was counting on her crewmates to buy her the moments she needed to do so... though the residual electricity in the landing platform and the terrifying displays she'd already done might just deter the marines from coming at her on their own.

Just as she was about to dash to Serena's aid, she spotted the ones gathering at the railing. She clicked her tongue and took a leap backward and raised her sword to once more perform her Genbu Shellspin. She stood in their way as if they fired, there would be the sound of several pings of metal. As much as she would love to return the favor to the ones who had been so accommodating to her before, there were other people aboard this vessel.
"Don't you DARE try firing when they're occupied!" she snarled. It was frustrating! They were going to hurt the others so long as this fight continued. "You claim justice but you have no honor in combat!" She remained positioned between the firing shots and the crew behind her while she used her sword technique to deflect any oncoming projectiles with relative ease.
Suddenly, there was a smoke cloud shrouding them. She didn't need to turn to see who was responsible. "Remarkable ninpo, Ayane! Keep it up!" she shouted jovially. She leapt up to where the railing was and cut down any who would bar herpath to get to Serena. Had Ayane had this handled? Smokescreens did alot here and would return if there was a need.

The shock came as just that, as a group of marines immediately felt the diluted but powerful surge of stunning electricity, as several of them fainted on the spot or fell over into the water. Immediately after Ayane's request to be covered, Moxie and Isabella followed up, this time pushing into their enemies as they leapt over the electrified platform into the crowd. Even more, Ayane's target's didn't even get a chance to fire, as the sound of rotating cannons was accompanied by a blast, as one section of the enemy ship blew clean off killing and blasting back marines, "We got guns too assholes!" The familiar sound of their long armed grunt voiced. "Ayane! Yanagi needs a mask!".
Immediately as Yanagi attempted to board she'd begin to feel her eyes water, and the foul putrid stench of what could only be called rotten eggs fill her nose and taste buds. It was clear now why these marines were sputtering. Still, retreating enough she could cut down several bullets, though so d Far most missed their marks.
Onaka would find that her opponents didn't expect the counter, and quickly ended up getting wounded, javelin like quill effortlessly releasing from Onaka. They'd grow back quickly enough, as the marines gripped their wounds and fell back. The marine forces were three times Quillion size, but the number of immediate injuries and their affliction had forced them to realize they were outmatched.
However, the Windchasers weren't a taskforce for nothing, as a single chain and sickle flew through the air and towards Yanagi from outside of the smoke. Ayane would suddenly find that the moment she set down her briefcase that it would disappear, and the sound of footsteps on metal were beginning to run off to her left. Onaka would hear, "Make Way! Wind piercer!" Before suddenly the marines ducked and Onaka would see a spear soaring towards her.
Meanwhile Serena would twist the arm of the man before her, but it was clear he could withstand his own attack force as he endured it, and his arm didn't break. "Even if you pirates don't harm innocence, you deny the Law!". He stated before getting tossed back into the mast. The initial devastating strike had done significant damage, but the captain quickly came to an assumption. "With that said.... You're a Devil Fruit User... Aren't you? You devils of the sea.... Do you not realize that simply eating that cursed fruit can only bring pain and misery? Just like those from Wano! Now I have no choice. I was going to offer her a position on my crew if she had only turned herself in, but since she has allied herself with you I have no choice.... WINDCHASERS! FLY!". Immediately the captain rushed forward again, however, instead of aiming at Serena herself, he aimed at the wooden boards under her feet, deducing that direct attacks weren't effective, before opening the fan and lifting the broken planks up, "Rising Wind". As he attempted to yeet Serena into the air by removing her footing from below her.

"I know from experience how unjust your laws are" Serena spat "there's so many atrocities committed according to laws made by your government. Do you even know the things some of your people do? But regardless, I've had this conversation enough times to know that no matter what I say, and no matter how much good me and my crewmates do... you'll never see us as anything but monsters. And frankly now you know too much, can't have you reporting back and getting more task forces sent after me and my friends. So let's cut to the part where this monster beats you to a pulp."
Serena would be pushed back a bit by the planks breaking underneath her, the gust of wind wouldn't do much to launch her, the force behind it just being absorbed, but she couldn't do anything about the ground being broken up. The man might also notice that her clothes were buffeted by the wind even though it didn't seem to affect her at all, the sheath for her sword rattled as it shook in the gust... so she could be disarmed if nothing else.
Using some of the energy she took from the wind though she was able to kick of the air and propel herself forward into a powerful roundhouse kick packed full of stored energy. She had control over this fight, she knew that much... this man's moves were all based on brute force and that made her an awful matchup for him.
She also knew she couldn't be careless though. He was strong, if she absorbed too many hits without expending the energy she could find her storage limit pushed too far. She also had to keep a bit in the tank just in case he tried to take out her footing again and make her fall into the ocean though. Still as long as she kept her wits about her, she could take what this guy was dishing out. And his iron body wouldn't last forever... plus the more times he used it the more she could learn about it.
-----------
Ayane cursed as her briefcase was snatched away and turned invisible. So the enemy DFU wanted to take a peek at her schematics and try and mess with their ship huh? Tough luck on him, as he'd soon find that the blueprints were written in an ancient language nobody from this era could read anymore... well nobody she'd ever heard of. She managed to translate those weird stones so maybe there were others. But definitely not some random schmuck in East Blue.
Resting her spear on her shoulder Ayane called to the others "New plan, I'm going to go teach that invisible little shit what happens when you mess with a researcher's notes!"
Before she ran off though, she'd create a spare gas mask and toss it to Isabelle "get that to her. I'd go myself but I really do need to chase this guy down. I'm the only one who can really pin him down with his ability.
with that Ayane would follow the sound of the footsteps, chasing after the invisible man. He'd quickly find that while she couldn't see him exactly, she knew the layout of this ship infinitely better. His echoing footsteps were followed with ease, every object he bumped out of place as he fled acting like a set of footprints. And it would only get worse if he fled inside to try and use his acquired schematics to sabotage the ship. At least out on deck there was enough open space for him to skirt around her as she pursued, but in the hallways and rooms of the ship he'd quickly find himself cornered
Ayane would whistle cheerfully as she pursued the thief, the sound echoing through the metal ship eerily, like something out of a slasher movie. And considering her spear sparking with electricity as it recharged she kinda was one... slashers would probably be preferable to whatever devices she concocted though.
---------
Onaka quickly used shave to dodge to the side as the spear soared by her, she'd been preparing to charge in for another razor shave anyhow, so it was the best way to handle it. Plus if the enemy marines were so eager to get out of the thing's way it probably wasn't just a regular spear she could block without consequence.
"I was wondering when they'd send out their real fighters. Beating up your grunts is nice and all, but it gets boring after a few waves" Onaka said, pointing one of her twin blades in the direction the spear came from "so how bout you and I have a little dance, and spare the lives of your men who definitely don't get paid enough for this."
Onaka hadn't seen who launched the spear, but she was confident in her ability to win a one on one fight. She also didn't relish in killing people, so long as the grunts surrendered when their leaders went down, she was fine with letting them cast off in lifeboats after the fact... assuming they didn't see anything that would cause too much trouble for them later like the mark on Serena's back of course.

Yanagi stopped short and covered her mouth. That smell and the watering of her eyes. It was nigh unbearable! Smokescreens were one thing but this was no mere smokescreen. She hadn't anticipated a thing like this to slow her down and was already determined to push through it with grit and determination. Unfortunately, her body wasn't going to let her do much in the way of progressing.
That is, until, someone managed to get a mask on her. With it, she took a deep breath and felt the symptoms lessening to where she could manage again. "Thank you...nhck!" she managed to cough out before resuming her rush toward where she last witness Serena going. There were definitely sounds of a fight happening beyond her current field of vision including a sudden creak and burst of wood. But her attention was zeroed in on the sickle that flew at her from seemingly nowhere.
She leaned to the left to avoud being struck directly with the chained weapon, feeling its edge graze her cheek. She stopped in place and held her blade up. "Coward! Attacking where I cannot see you! Show yourself!" she demanded in a muffled voice behind the mask.

Yanagi was addressed from the black smoke, "You approve of your ally's Ninppo, yet for I, you insult me! You CUR!" The voice sounded high pitched yet still masculine as the voice seemed to move around Yanagi. The chain had disappeared into the smoke before Yanagi could catch it, but in the moment it withdrew Yanagi would find her opponent, or what she'd assume was her opponent's direction. The moment she attempted it, the sounds of chains would come from behind her as a second sickle would soar out, but instead of aiming for her directly, the sickle was quickly being looped around Yanagi's blade if she didn't react quickly enough.
Meanwhile, Onaka would find her opponent walking forward with a shit eating grin on his face. His slick backed red hair, intense eyes, and a permanent condescending look on his face told Onaka all she'd need to know about him before he spoke up as he wore his coat over his shoulders and the shirt of his uniform unbuckled, showing that he was indeed quite strong. Behind her, Onaka would be able to hear the sound of metal shearing and wood splintering as the spear had scored and blew off a fist sized hole into the edge of the mast. "Damn, I was wanting to end this quick. It'd have been painless if you didn't dodge Minxy." He stated, his grin widening. "That said...." He stated, before a marine quickly handed him a second spear, and he holstered it towards her with one arm pointing it at her, "Where did you learn that technique? Tell me, and I'll consider taking you in as my own personal servant. Though I'll have to clip all those quills before we could start." His eyes squinted as Onaka could see his lecherous look. "My name is officer Nostra, but you can call me Master if you surrender now."
The Marine captain blocked immediately, his body tensing as he shouted, "IRON BODY!" Hitting him, Serena could feel like she was kicking an actual wall without her powers, though it was clear that the man wasn't moving as he did so. However, he only kept the defense up long enough to take the hit, before he reached over, and grabbed Serena not directly by the leg, but rather by the canvas pants she wore."
