It wasn't too often that Architect was able to free up some time in her schedule. In truth, this wouldn't even truly be a leisure trip, accompanying Antinomy while she had security updates to supervise would serve as an overqualified bodyguard of sorts, but in the end, it was the both of them that had made the day trip from Yokohama to Tokyo. And while she had the opportunity, Yukari Tachibana wanted to catch up with a few others that she hadn't gotten the chance to interact with lately, much less in a non-work-related setting. Surprisingly, they had been down with the suggestion, which had her in an even brighter mood today than her usual peppiness. "Yukari, the next right turn," the soft voice called out from behind her, by comparison almost bored. "Yep, don't worry!" Yukari responded, slowing down with her motorcycle before the intersection. Rounding the corner, their destination was finally in sight. Pulling into a street parking spot just outside the cafe, she let Antonina hop off from behind her before kicking down the stand and swiping her card through the meter. Antonina had already pulled out her laptop from her bag and was booting it up in her hands by the time the two girls walked through the cafe entrance, a high-pitched bell softly jingling from the opening of the door. It was likely that Yukari was probably going to be the last of the heroes to arrive, if not a bit late (gasp), so she took a look around to find which table the others had met up at, while Antonina quietly followed her with a bored countenance not quite unlike an unwilling teenager accompanying their parents on a shopping trip.

Mayoi was invited for an outing, but Speed would be the one to show up. He was decked in his usual hero "speedsuit" with his hair spiked. He'd participate in his usual call and response upon arrival before settling into a booth. He picked a wider table. Sure he was first one there, but he wasn't entirely sure how many people were coming. It was Architect's idea after all. If he recalled, Moonbeam would be showing up as well... someone from school. Would she even remember him? Back then, he was only known for being best buds and a hero team with Strive. It was only the passed couple years that he'd been getting some of the shine he deserves. Maybe it was just nerves... He'd put a brave smile on, and feed himself a sweet sweet cherry danish dusted in confectionary sugar. To help gulp if down, he had a warm cup of joe with plenty cream. He expected it be sweet, but "Too sweet..." He frowned. Maybe he'd go with a breakfast sandwich next. He panned right, and left to make sure no one heard his apparent complaining. Luckily this place, wasn't all that packed.
"Hey!" With a raised hand, he'd wave to Architect and her side kick.

A distant memory reflected in the eyes of the detective behind a darkened veil of glass. Chisako reluctantly removed the shades that adorned her face as it was proper manners to do so indoors. She had stopped just shy of the entrance to witness Architect alongside one of her sidekicks she assumed. She had arrived on foot so she could only surmise she was here last.
It was clear the other one was already here first. Of course he'd be. A knowing smirk crossed her face which was noticed by her own sidekick Mothcoat. He decided to accompany her this time. Las Vegas had her heart set on it but there was work to be done back at the agency and begrudgingly gave the honor of being at Moonbeam's side to one of the agency's younger but more prodigious members. "Everyone's inside already." stated the shorter hero.
"That's fine." Moonbeam said with acceptance "The most important heroes often show up fashionably late." She flashed him a small smile before the two filed on inside. As expected, he was already there; Speed. Immediately, her striking eyes fell upon him to try and catch his sight as well. If it did, she'd wear a look that denoted fulfilled expectations and a nostalgic glint. Like she was expecting nothing less. "Been awhile,Speed." she would say poignantly, tossing back her hair and standing with arms crossed in her usually trenchcoat attire. Mothcoat inched off to the side so as to not take up too much of the illusory spotlight.

Hearing a voice call out from a booth, Architect's head immediately turned to find Mayoi all dressed up in his hero outfit. She was often prone to referring to others by their first names, always wanting to be friends with everyone, but if she remembered correctly, presenting himself as the hero Speed also helped him out mentally. So, if he wanted to be Speed for this little get-together, she'd have to remember to oblige him. "Speed! Hi, hi!" Architect responded back, almost dragging Antinomy over to the table where the other hero was sitting as she slid into the booth almost in an overexcited leaping motion. Antinomy groaned, but as she was shaking her head she still couldn't help but crack a smile at the enthusiasm, turning her attention to the freshly-arrived Moonbeam and Mothcoat and giving a light wave as well as an acknowledging nod towards the other sidekick in particular. "I'm here on business, so if you need me, just say something." That was all the mint-haired girl would comment before sliding into the booth directly behind Architect, sitting back to back with her co-worker as she set down her laptop, pulled out a wireless mouse from her pocket, and connected to the public wi-fi. The location didn't matter as long as she had access, so this cafe would work just fine.
Architect chuckled at Moonbeam's quip. "They don't have to be late, though! Come on, join us~" It was clear that the #3 hero was excited, possibly more than she usually was. Days like these where Architect didn't have much in the way of responsibilities were a rarity, accompanying Antimony was mostly just an excuse for it to have at least some productive purpose. It was at this point where she noticed that Speed already had an empty dish and a cup. "Aww, you already got something? We haven't been keeping you waiting that long, right? I bet it was good!" Despite not living in Tokyo, Architect had been the one to recommend this particular cafe. Her tastes hadn't particularly evolved much since her teenager years, so whenever she found a place she liked, she tended to just keep coming back rather than finding new locations. The menu wasn't super large, just laminated over one single front and back side, but she pulled a couple of them out from the stand on the wall and slid one over to the edge of the table, inviting Moonbeam to sit down.

"Sup, old friend!" A welcoming nod toward Moonbeam. OH? There was company with the invited company. The two top ten heroes each had a tag-along. Maybe it was a thing big wigs did. Perhaps it was like added security. Mayoi waved back to them all with a grin. "Interesting for you to call a get-together like this, but it has been a while since I've really got to take a load off." The load was very much still on, he was in costume... At mention of his plate. "Gotta fuel up with plenty calories, other wise I'll become a tooth pick." He chuckled.
With the gang all here, he looked at each of them. "Anything new?" Perhaps it had been a bit too long. He wasn't quite sure how to drum up a quality conversation. The best bet would be to let things flow. The Mayoi bet would be to overthink and internally agonize every segment of this interaction. God bless the suit, as if he didn't wear... he wouldn't have come. With a glimpse at the waitress, he'd smile. Surely they'd get some free grub with all this star power around. It would be a bad for business not to.

The appearance of Architect was humbling to be sure yet the hero knew she stood on equal ground same as the rest. Despite rank by the masses, they all were ready to push down villains wherever they rear their ugly heads. She looked brimming with confidence if her smile was any indicator. She joined them at the table sitting by crossing her legs, linking her fingers together, and letting her hands settle on her abdomen. She returned the nod to Speed while Mothcoat ambledup to take a seat, feeling no pressure whatsoever from being in the presence of greatness.
Moonbeam looked to Speed then to the waitress as if analyzing what his thoughts might be. She was certainly good at it to some degree but she didn't need to be a mind-reader to know the thoughts of an old friend. Mothcoat noticed as well, pushing it aside in his thoughts and acknowledging Architect and her own plus one.
"No need to force yourself."said Moonbeam to Speed, "you're much too nervous. This is a time to relax and catch up. I'll start it off, so you don't have to, by saying my agency is doing rather well for itself. Mothcoat is the youngest here but his talents are enough to qualify him a top spot in the near future." She said as much with her chest thrust out and touched her shades. She was certainly proud. The aforementioned hero shrugged.
"I just do my job; same as anyone else." he said plainly, playing it as cool as could be. "My quirk is just effective at detainment is all." He didn't seem to enjoy being praised and acted very casual about it. But only Moonbeam could see that very small hint of a smirk playing on the corner of his mouth...and he knew it...and he cast a brief glare her way with a small sigh.

"Nah, I don't get many free days, you think I'm just gonna make the trip to Tokyo and not make the most of it?" Architect chuckled, but her smile had started to fade, though she managed to keep the positive expressing tugging at the corner of her mouth and giving Mothcoat a visual once-over, nodding in acknowledgement. "...And yet, everyone's still business as always, heh. Guess it's just a part of the lifestyle." She seemed almost a bit wistful, which was a strange look coming from someone who usually never wore such an expression. It only lingered for a moment, as she shook her head and stretched her arms over the table, like a cat that didn't seem to know the meaning of personal space, before sitting upright and grabbing a menu from the holder on the edge of the table, flipping over to the back side. "Even now, it's just an excuse for me, yeah? Antimony's a non-combatant and had some security updates to do here, so I figured I should accompany her, at least," Architect remarked, all the while holding up the menu to the waitress and pointing to one of the drink selections without missing a beat in the conversation. "And then I thought, wouldn't it be nice to drag you guys out somewhere relaxing? Two people that I haven't really gotten the chance to see recently. I know work is important and all, but so is making sure you're doing okay too~" Her smile had returned, but it was a lot more gentle than her typical rambunctious bubbly self. "...It makes me glad that you guys did show up, anyway."

Mayoi seized at Moonbeam's comment. Of course she'd notice his tension. In a way it was his greatest asset, as well as his weakness. Luckily she opened the floor. "Speed, though if you're comfortable you can call me Mayoi, or Ma-kun." He'd introduce himself to both sidekicks. It was supposed to be a meeting of old friends, and yet both of them brought a tag along. Both of their sidekicks seemed a bit uninterested in attending, which actually was comforting for some reason. The homebody that lived deep in his core, couldn't help but sympathize. On the waitress' second round to address the group, Mayoi would grab another plate. This one was more of a stock pile. Eggs, bacon, sausage, american style biscuits, and pancakes. Why not, he needed the fuel if he were to go patrol after this anyway.
" Well, there been some weird stuff going on if we're talking Tokyo. But when isn't there weird stuff going on in Tokyo. As far as I'm concerned, if we're all fit, alive and healthy, I'm happy. I think the biggest catching up, is me climbing that ranking ladder." While being a hero team with the number 1 hero was nothing to sneeze at, he couldn't help but feel like he was a late bloomer for their generation of heroes. They were considered the golden era right now, hailing right behind the silver age heroes like Aeronaut and Nocturne. He needed to truly test his metal... He was hungry for success! More importantly, he'd dial down his own ego to focus on the people in front of him. "Anything juicy you wanna tell me in front of your juniors?" He'd unleash a devilish grin.

The comment Architect made caused Chisako to utter a small chuckle. "Sometimes dragging someone to a relaxing place is needed for them to relax..." she side-eyed Mothcoat who seemed to roll his eyes even though he wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention to anything but the terrarium he had at his waist. The detective would do the same in gesturing to menu items, making sure they were seen before handing the menu back to the waitress. Mothcoat did as well but without so much as looking at what he was pointing to but it felt like he knew what it was with a slight nod. All the detective seemed to want was a simple pecan muffin and a fruity iced tea. While the youth of a hero wanted a serving of green tea.
"Between the recent criminal activity and the appearance of Damascus Order, I think it's good to know and catch up on what we're all doing..." stated Moonbeam.
"And to see who's still alive..." added Mothcoat.
While it might have sounded morbid, it was just another way of saying that it was a good thing Architect did what she did. She cleared her throat, glazing over said comment to give Speed what he wanted. "Not to brag but.." she could hear the young plus one furrowing his brow. "I did manage to close up a few cases just last week. One of which included the bust of an illegal transaction between a couple of well-known crime lords. Granted, Nocturne aided me in this regard but all he did was provide the info. The real star of the show was Mothcoat who-"
The junior groaned disapprovingly, pulling his hood over his eyes as if to hide himself.
"-managed to detain quite a few of the henchman and even one of the crime lords himself. Saved a few kids to top it all off who gave our young hero a very special reward they made themselves!" She held up her phone and displayed a photo of a very disgruntled little Mothcoat holding up a picture drawn by the children of him taking out the bad guys. Though anyone could see beyond the facade of his annoyance that he was happy. Chisako here felt like a proud mother showing off her child.

"Ahaha, do I count as one of the juniors too, Ma-kun?" Architect giggled, pointing at him accusingly with a devilish glint in her eyes. She was one of the younger pro heroes, especially among those in the top ten. "Or one the seniors, if you care more about the rankings?" Leaning back, she gave a nod of affirmation. "Dealing with weird stuff is basically our job description though, isn't it, yeah? Sometimes it's kinda interesting seeing all the new stuff the bad guys are cooking up. Doesn't stop me from smashing them all though! " Architect shot a couple of enthusiastic air punches, nearly toppling over her drink in the process. "But yeah, Yokohama's been fairly routine lately. Pretty popular place to start trouble, but all the smarter villains know that's my turf, so it's just mostly been some run of the mill problems, nothing fancyyyyy~" She let out a sigh, but while it could seem like she was disappointed, it was a sigh of relief. After all, no news was good news. "Part of me worries that roaming around to seek out the big baddies and take 'em down might open up Yokohama to some timely opportunists that are probably lying in wait, but if the world needs my help, I'm sure as hell gonna be there. Galatea can definitely handle the level of problems we've had to deal with lately," Architect mused, taking another sip of her drink.

"Junior..." She was younger than him and that was that. He smirked, though a tiny bit of it was out of annoyance. He definitely cared about rankings, moreso than other heroes.
Mayoi gleamed at the waitress as she brought him the plate. Finally! He'd dig in as the two heroes gave their answers. In between bites, he'd scan the table and nod as he listened. "Mmmf, well you know peace never last too long. Just look at the crime rates going up everywhere." Another bite. "Grrf, and Chisako's right. There are new factions popping up and rearing their ugly heads in public spaces like nothing.." With a few gulps to wash all this down, he let out a huff. "I really miss when the villains understood that their tactics were taboo. There was way more behind the scenes fighting. Nowadays civilians are terrified depending on the street or neighborhood their in." It was okay though. That's why they, heroes, were around! He needed to kick it into high gear! With or without Benji, he'd make a way for himself.

Ah, if only those words were still true. Mayoi's wish for the days of yore when villains knew their place and cowered at the mere mention of a heroes' name made Chisako think of an old hero while she sampled the spread daintily. She gave pause as she reflected. Architect's aplomb and words let Chisako see the ghost of an old hero almost mimicking her movements. She never knew the aforementioned hero personally but archival footage of him existed far and wide as a very early hero. Near one of the first. Cosmofist. There was a hero who knew how to dole out justice. Whose named struck terror in the hearts of criminals.
Mothcoat took notice in Moonbeam's posture, the corner of his mouth slightly curling into a smirk. That was her thinking-of-days-past face. And it was no surprise who she was thinking of. It could only be a handful of heroes he knew she admired but one in particular had a more prominent gravitas for the current conversation.
"Cosmofist was a great one, wasn't he?" she would suddenly state out of the blue, resting the utensils on the table free from her grasp. "No villain in this day and age would be doing the things they are if they knew he was still around. Yet today there are still those, much like us here, who exude the same level of confidence he did. Not to mention determination. Dedication. Duty. Justice. The same things of his that made corruption think twice about rearing their ugly heads. Yet...they do no relent. Sometimes..." she looks up, perplexity lining her eyes. "...I wonder if the name of hero is something they find as a challenge...or a joke to progress their schemes..."

"Ehh." Architect shrugged, clearly more dismissive of the thought than Moonbeam was. "I don't think it's that complicated, really. I figure if that there's any kind of strong villain that actually has morals these days, they're probably more likely to try and become their own kind of hero instead. Aren't there usually some kinds of weird kids at U.A. with some super wacky backgrounds? Or hell, there's vigilantes running around these days acting on their own, that's probably where your 'understanding' villains are, Ma-kun." She opened a hand, punching it with her other fist. "Bad guys these days are really just bad guys, and I'm not sure there's much to it at all. As time goes on we're just bound to see these kinds of trash more and more. And if they're the trash, call me the janitor because I'll be cleaning house~"
With her signature grin reappearing on her face once more, Architect leaned back in her seat to take in the view of both of her fellow heroes. "But yeah, speaking of U.A., it does kinda have me curious on the type of kids that the academy is raising these days. Hopefully they turn out to be dependable at least, we can't just be sending rookies out all willy-nilly if their first enemies are gonna end up being some super big baddies. Or maybe we can, I dunno." Yukari sighed, drumming her fingers along the table. This happened to be with her mechanical hand, so the clacking sound resonated a bit louder than it otherwise would have. "It's not like I know much about that kind of process anyway. I never went to that kind of school. Guess I'm the odd one out these days, yeah?"
An idea took root in the young hero's mind, and her eyes and smile started to grow a bit devious. "Hey, hey, you two. You're about the same age, aren't ya? What was U.A. like when you guys went there?" One could almost see the proverbial sparkles radiating around Yukari's face, with a curious and expectant set of eyes staring down Mayoi and Chisako.

Mayoi folded his arms. Answering Chisako first, he- "They take us for a joke..." He would take a moment to address what Yukari had said. "Not at all, all heroes were vigilantes at one point. When organized crime hit bad, those looking to do good organized to combat them... and that's where the Hero Commission came in. There was order back then among those who made major moves with their powers. Now it seems like there are more wild cards than ever... that's just the new norm we need to accept. It's fine because hero culture doesn't stay the same either " He'd finished his plate in a final few gulps. His eyebrow raised when she mentioned UA students. That's right, she hadn't gone so of course she'd make such blind statements. She thought some UA students could become villains. Anybody could become a villain... That's -
"HA! It doesn't matter where you start, some people are just rotten. Villains exist to be crushed and thrown in jail. If we're lucky, they can learn and grow into better people. That's all there is to it. " He'd just blurt out his ideaology on villains. He'd leaned back to think about his time as a student. "Compared to now, I'd say these new kids have a cake walk. They have so much help now... we had to work hard to be considered great. Nowadays, I can't even tell you who the top student is. Hell, I've picked most of my incoming agency members from Shiketsu." He admitted with a shrug. "School back then was a bit of a drag. I have nothing but complaints" That wasn't true. These were his fondest memories. He smiled big while bad-mouthing the school, "Top to bottom, they thought of us as the next coming. The media plastered us everywhere as the Golden Era to follow up behind the Silver age heroes. Talk about pressure..." To be fair, they were doing exactly that until the recent uptick in villainy.
"It was... you know... We still had time to be kids though. Yeah it was a hero school, but it was still high school. Popping zits, and the woes of puberty, all that fun stuff." He vividly remembered being turned down mulitple times to the final dance as seniors. He'd spent that time in the training center beating the tar out of dummies. Chisako, like Benji, was always pretty popular. "How was it for you, Chisako?"

Ah the days she spent in U.A. Now there was a fine distraction from these heavy talks of current state of affairs. She forgave herself for becoming sentimental as those nostalgic memories crept into her head. Her compatriot was, admittedly, interested in this subject matter as well. Mothcoat hardly got a chance to hear much about his superior's personal life outside of what was mentioned in conversation. Hearing from the source was a treat for certain.
"Lots of hard work, to put it simply. I..." she chuckled lightly, "I...had very little time for personal affairs. I had to keep training to become the best that I was. Naturally, I excelled in classes from start to finish but only because my mind was solely focused on my goal to be a hero." They sampled their food, not as hurriedly as Mayoi. "Perhaps I should have taken time to be a kid back then. Though I did have fun figuring out who was stealing the cafeteria's special order sweet bread and the time one of the staff was embezzling funds who I busted quite handily." Once a detective, always a detective. She had gotten to the bottom of several capers while she attended school back in the day. "Naturally, this provoked both ire and adoration in equal amounts from the student body. Jealousy, mostly. Most called me too nosey for my own good. But I wasn't out to personally go after small cases the other students talked about. You know, Mayoi; gossip. Who was going out with who. Are they cheating on me? Those sorts of talks...I didn't have time for those. I even had to turn down both male and female classmates requests to go on dates or even the dance. I had my future to think about, after all." She set her silverware down and patted the sides of her mouth with a napkin then took a drink. Setting it down, she added "Incidentally...as soon as I graduated, I studied abroad before returning as I had made plans prior which is why I never got a chance to have a partner of my own. But I did make lasting friendships. It was how I met such interesting people such as Klaus erm Gigabite and Las Vegas from my agency."
She sighed and smiled. "I guess I am still learning how to have fun these days. But I've never once strayed from my goal."
