The Arc facilities were among some of the most sophisticated in the United States, arguably the world. Billions had been invested in their development, and more still in their upkeep once the construction had finished in recent years. Short of the original founding of Tesladyne and its subsequent Wardenclyffe experiment, the Arc was Tesla's most ambitious project. Financial costs notwithstanding, it was also of equal importance to Tesla's mission for the world: peace and prosperity for all. These days, peace and prosperity came in the form of capes and masks. For the last three decades, Doctor Tesla had made sure to capitalize on the new market. That was not to say that he thought of any of this as a cold business calculation. He was more than some artificial intelligence. Doctor Atomic Robo Tesla was an automatic intelligence. The esteemed leader of Planetary and not so part-time adjudicator for the Champions hero initiative was in the foyer of the main building. He was on the upper level, speaking with Robot, the formal leader of the Champions. It was strange, speaking with another- well, Robo actually wasn't sure if he was an automatic intelligence like him. He didn't know much about Robot to begin with. He was a private guy, and Robo could respect that. That wasn't what he - they - were here to discuss. Down below, many of the Champions' members were going about their daily business, which was to say that they were just hanging out. For those not out on a mission, being here at the Arc was a rare moment for relaxation, not just from the life, but from their own lives as well. That meant something different for each of them, but respite was respite, no matter who it was for. On the couch by the TV was a teenage Arab girl dressed in a blue-and-red outfit, sitting next to a green-skinned boy of a similar age in a red-and-white bodysuit. They were watching some kind of newscast on the TV, but only the girl seemed to be paying attention. If the boy was, he looked awfully bored, slumped into what was starting to look like a napping position. Across the room, the doors leading to an adjacent sparring chamber slid open, allowing a lean figure to shuffle through. He was no longer wearing his armor; that would have to go through repairs. Again. Typical Carlos. His body looked bruised, exceptionally so. Had he broken bones? It was hard to tell with him, but as ever, he looked… “fine”. He wound his right arm over his head in a circular motion, like he had just finished a gym workout. If he wasn't going to hit the showers now, he was at the very least going for any of the spare seats lying around the common room. In yet another corner was a young bespectacled African-American woman, whiling away on an array of holographic displays that were being projected from a pristine white desk. Though she was dressed in what passed for formal civilian attire, she gave herself away with the metal prosthetic that substituted for her right leg. When Carlos came out into the foyer, she looked up from her work but for a moment. He didn't notice, but she gave him a wry grin before returning to her screens. Maybe later. For anyone checking into the Arc - which was itself a strictly monitored process - they would pass by a woman leaning against a section of wall that was connected to the stairs leading up to where Atomic Robo and Robot were having their chat. She was tall, very tall in fact, with a figure that belied her superhuman nature. Raven-black hair framed her severe face, as did the black full-body uniform she wore that left little to the imagination. She most certainly was not a Champion. She had come here with Robo, after all. All she could do was wait until the boring part was finished. Whenever Jakita Wagner came to the Arc, the Champions gave her a wide berth. That was fine by her. She wasn't here to babysit.

Dressed in her hero suit, Caitlin stepped out of her quarters which looked to be littered with various parts and tools in neat piles. A burst of superheated air blew out from the room into the corridor just before the doors shut with an added hiss of a seal. For her nothing kept her hunger at bay better than keeping toasty like an oven in her downtime, she just had to build a little something. Though it didn't quench her need for nutrients or liquids, so she had made the decision to see what everyone was up to in the common area as she tried to remember what snacks were on hand. As she made her way into the area however, she spotted a rather tall woman propped against the wall near the stairs going up to the upper level. Everyone else was pretty much minding their own business and she could hear Robot's voice coming from upstairs, though unable to hear what he was saying as she made her way over to the kitchen.
Before she started to collect items for her snack, Caitlin cleared her throat. "I wanted to apologize again for the hot air incident. I finally isolated the HVAC from with my heating device. It won't happen again." Caitlin addressed her team with confidence in her work. The original furnace she had constructed took the direct air feed into her room and heated it to oven like temperatures, but she didn't taken into account that whenever the main driving fan wasn't providing pressure when it went down for maintenance which caused superheated air to blow back into the system... at 2 in the morning.

"Look Gramps, I'm just saying... I could've EASILY been there ahead of time if you'd just let me go into XLR8! I'd wait up for you before trying to get in!"
Riding in his grandfather's camper van was not the kind of entry to this new group of people that Benjamin Tennyson had expected, and it certainly wouldn't be the most gracious one either! Being the teenager that he was, image and profile was EVERYTHING for him! And this was not really an image that screamed "superhero" for him. What if a lot of these 'Champion' fellows saw him next to this dingy van? They'd think he was a joke! But, there was no arguing with Max, and he knew it. Besides, his grandpa would be acting as his chaperone for this meeting, so they had to show up simultaneously.
He watched out the window as building zoomed past them. He was excited for this new step in his life, sure. But he was also real nervous, that usual teen anxiety settling in the closer they got. What if he wasn't up to snuff for these Champions? What if they thought he was just a pushover punk? He was going to do his best, but... was that going to be enough? All these thoughts rushing through his head at a mile a minute, and he knew only one person to turn to;
"Max... these 'Champion' guys... you think I'm a good fit for them?"

Weld had returned from a mission just hours earlier; it had become a big waste of time since the supposed "supervillain" had only been a gang of hooligans robbing banks. He had, however, fallen into a pile of junk and was currently stuck with half a toaster sticking out from his midsection. Inside his room, he was examining himself in the mirror, trying to pull on a shirt... which honestly just made it look worse.
"This- could have gone worse." He shook his head before adjusting the headset, taking a moment to run a hand over his hair before cracking his neck. "At least I avoided that old mower. That would have been really awkward showing up with attached to my... somewhere." Weld pulled off the shirt and tossed it back onto the desk. "Still, you look good there- and I'm talking to myself. Better get out to the others before I really go crazy."
Weld stepped out from his quarters, which was dominated largely by a big shelf containing nothing but CDs. He could hear the sound of the news blaring away on the TV, which would indicate some of the others were already there. His arrival was felt before he came into the room. Even when he tried to walk "lightly", he tended to send vibrations due to his weight. Thankfully, the floor was not made of wood, so at least it did not break.
"I thought it was rather funny." Weld arrived to the area at the tail end of Caitlin's apology. "We were all extra toasty that day-" He completely missed how it sounded when he currently had a toaster sticking out of his guts, which was clearly visible as he was not wearing any shirt, just a pair of cargo shorts.

Maxwell Tennyson was more than used to his grandson's enthusiasm and penchant for action before thought. Everything that came with being a teenager didn't necessarily help matters either. However, Max had taken note of the man and hero Ben was becoming. He liked to think some of it was because of him. How he mentored Ben, familiarized him with the world of hero business, helped him avoid the mistakes he made. But it was still mainly Ben himself, who took his own experiences and learned from them. Exactly what an aspiring hero should do. Ben was still his grandson, though. And one whose eagerness and (over)confidence were still on varying spectrums of admirable and rash. He may not have been his official mentor anymore, but he still had a responsibility to the boy. Really, though? Max just cared. He wanted Ben to do well and make this experience one where he could truly grow into his own. "Going alien and rushing in isn't going to impress anyone, Ben. They're going to be your teammates. You all need to get to know each other. Trust each other. They need to know Ben before they know the hero."
The Rust Bucket stopped in a designated spot in front of the building. One of the many benefits of this purposefully run-down looking RV was that few people would actually try to steal it. And if they did, they'd be in for a nasty surprise, with its uncountable security measures in place. Max unbuckled himself, making his way outside. Before he could fully exit, however, Ben voiced a sincere concern. "I think you're exactly where you need to be, son."
With that sentence of seeming wisdom, Max gestured Ben to follow. The way to their destination was simple. The room that opened up to them was sizeable, clearly catered to the various abilities and personalities inhabiting it. Max's path with Ben would take them (if Ben chose to follow) to Atomic Robo and Robot, passing Wagner on the way. "Jakita."
Max gave the woman a curt nod. The two didn't share a lot of history, but he knew of her well regardless. Their paths had crossed now and then, remaining strictly in the field of acquaintances. With that out of the way, Max had ascended the steps, and approached the previously mentioned robotic duo in conversation. "Tesla. Robot. Good to see you both. My grandson, Ben."
He made it easier on himself to at least slightly differentiate them with different names. During the exchange of brief pleasantries, Max gestured towards Ben (wherever he may have been in the room at that point). He had to admit, he had his anxieties about Ben joining a team like that. There were people from all sorts of backgrounds. A lot of them already knew each other. But he thought that was exactly what Ben needed. To act among a team, where everyone had to earn their badge, so to speak.
Supergirl's plate was filled to the brim these days. It was perhaps a little too full. Especially when her skills were required by SWORD more often than she would've perhaps liked. As such, her duties reached far and wide, but she mostly managed it all. And she made sure to spare time for the Champions. Being among young heroes was rejuvenating. A reminder that no matter how much doom and gloom might come her way, Kara knew that there was always a beacon of hope to be found with her team. It was also her most personal project, for the lack of a better word. Clark asked her to be on the team for a reason and she had done her best to not let him down. She had a duty, one she was determined to keep fulfilling for as long as she was able.
And at the same time, Kara felt that she hadn't been around as much as she should've. A pang of guilt enveloped her as she was flying towards the Arc. She had just finished saving a careening tanker off the coast of New Jersey. A routine save, nothing too unique to it. She was the first on the scene, because she was simply the closest. She recalled the several times she had been unable to join the Champions on missions because she was dealing with other threats elsewhere. In the US, globally or in space. There were few places Supergirl hadn't been in the Solar System at that point. And while she felt guilty, Kara also knew that the rest of the team was more than capable without her. Nevertheless, she felt like she had to be an example as a more senior member of the team. Something she had to remedy, she thought.
Kara's arrival to the Arc was quick, landing just before passing Jakita Wagner. A woman she had never really gotten along with, nor did she have to. Jakita reminded Kara too much of some of her SWORD colleagues. She knew why both Jakita and SWORD were like that. Serious people conducting serious business. For the safety of all. Which was also what the Champions were doing. Albeit with more quips and tacos. It wasn't an unfamiliar feeling, being with people her own age, eager about the hero business and using their myriad of abilities for the world's betterment. Some didn't see it that way, others held the young hero team in high regard. It was just the way things went.
When she entered the room proper, Kara took a moment to look at her teammates. A soft smile adorned her face. It was good to see them all again. Everyone seemed in good spirits. She answered Caitlin's apology with a warm chuckle, having only a slight idea of what she meant. Kara didn't usually sleep in her quarters at the Arc. Meaning she regularly commuted between Seattle and the Arc when needed.
Her gaze was caught by the emerging Aegis. His "injuries" were a clear sign of the aftermath of a training session. Carlos' abilities took a while to get used to. Now it was old hat. Kara winced still every now and then, having to remind herself that it was all part of it. Aside from Mark, Aegis' powers were the most similar to hers. There was a sort of kinship in that. Kara made her way towards him, pointing at a few of his seemingly broken bones with a humorously worried frown.
"Hey, Carlos! Did you lose this time?"

THe girl sitting at the couch perked up at Caitlin's entrance. It was no secret that Kamala Khan looked up to the woman, especially considering how far she had come in her journey. Of course, there was no competing with Captain Marvel. "It wasn't that bad!" She stretched an arm overhead. It elongated, reaching several feet into the air before slowly receding to its normal position. "It keeps things interesting around here."Carlos' response was not as receptive. "That was HOT! Papa Carlos needs his beauty sleep! But, you know, Cait, you could make it up to me. Friday, Pedro's?"Kamala's enthusiasm turned into a glare. "What are you doing, dude?"Carlos could only shrug. He didn't seem bothered at all. "I'm making plans, kid. Why don't you-heyyyyyy, Kara!"Kamala smirked. She had seen Kara come in, but Carlos clearly hadn't. She slid back into her seat and returned her attention to the TV. It was showing a scene in Markovia, where none other than Captain Marvel was protecting a diplomat from hostile mercenaries. The green-skinned boy wriggled on the couch, particularly since he had slumped completely to his side when Kamala had stood up. He still seemed out of it. Carlos rubbed the back of his neck with a grip that was more like a vice than a comforting habit. He looked sheepishly at Kara, the two of them at eye-level. "I, uhh, I got-""Hulk Smashed." The woman in the corner raised her voice, just loud enough to cut through Carlos' excuses. She tapped her glasses against the bridge of her nose before returning to her work. Carlos pauses again, quickly looking back at the woman in question and then back to Kara. "-a minor setback! Robo probably just, overprogrammed his sim. So the real deal won't be so scary, y'know?" The woman mutters under her breath, save perhaps for those with super hearing. "That was at half-setting, dude...""Okayhowaboutsomeoneelse! Kara!" Carlos shoots his arm forward to shake Kara's hand, wincing through the pain of the broken bones. Anything to get on a different topic. "Kara. Ess Gee. Miss "I'm in three different teams and still have time for Netflix". What's the latest? I barely see you around here."
Jakita didn't so much as flinch when Kara had passed by her, never mind with flight or super speed. None of it impressed her. She knew full well what that girl was up to. Of everyone here, she was perhaps the one person this happy-go-deadpan mood of hers couldn't bear to talk to. It wasn't personal... as far as Kara knew. Max was a different color entirely. She returned his curt nod, both of them mirroring a professionalism that was out of place at the Arc. Neither of them belonged here... though the little one might. She narrowed her eyes at him, though said nothing. Her demeanor spoke volumes to her opinion on the matter. She folded her arms, and looked elsewhere. It was busy today. "...aren't your average, well, us-" Parts of the conversation between the two robots drifted to the senses of Max and Ben as they wound their way up the stairs to their destination. Robo sounded concerned, as much as his vox filters allowed him to be. Robot had no such inflection with his retort. "They are not "us", Doctor. They are piloted by humans."Robo's expression (yes, his expression) looked ready to retort, but stopped upon hearing Max's voice. His lenses grew wide, and the stout robot dressed in a white office button-down and jeans thrust his arms around the old man in a friendly embrace. "Maxie! You made it! Ahh, it's been ages!" Not missing a beat, Robo quickly moved on to Ben, who had a few inches on him. He reaches for a handshake, gripping the boy's hand firmly, though not in the firm way a robot's hand could be dangerous. "And you must be the wiz kid! 'Ben 10!' I love it!"Robot, meanwhile, stared at the exchange, nonplussed. Robo straightened up, and "cleared" his throat. Right, professional. "I, uhh, I'll get out of your hair." The founder of Tesladyne started to take his leave, then turned back to Robot with a knowing look. He responded with a brief farewell. "It will be taken care of. Good day, Doctor Tesla." While passing by Max, he stopped to whisper to him. "Come find me when you're done."The leader of the Champions did not stand quite as tall as Max, but he was composed, holding his hands behind his back as he often did. It was one of the first human mannerisms he had learned. Too much time around the likes of Reed Richards and Henry Henshaw. "Welcome to the Arc." He inclined his head towards Ben. "I hear you are our newest member."

Caitlyn looked a bit at ease knowing that they were a bit forgiving about the little heat accident, taking a weight off of her shoulders. Although, Carlos put her off a bit in his response, switching from griping to asking her out? She was about to make a witty retort back when Kamala sidetracked the one track mind. But it is was actually getting crowded all of a sudden, one of those coincidences? Her vision was immediately drawn to the shirtless metal man who walked in the room... with a toaster sticking out. Her face grimaced a bit, looking at it before realizing she was staring. "Making a fashion statement? Or just trying something new?" She asked Weld, unsure if she should be concerned as multiple guests arrived almost back to back. An older heavyset man guiding around a relatively young looking guy, but before she could even get a really good look at them, Supergirl... Kara made an appearance. "Lots of people today, amazing how chill everything was a moment ago..." She mused aloud as she saw the older man and what she assumed was his ward, go upstairs.

What... what the hell was this energy? A cluster of odd sources and another that... something significantly more powerful. Leslie stopped editing a video for one of her recorded blogs, she looked around almost like a shark smelling blood in the water. She slowly scooted away from her computer and got out of her seat to wander towards what was calling out to her senses. "This... its not normal." Leslie muttered before looking up at the ceiling of her room, a strategically placed tesla coil. Without so much as a muscle movement, her body took on a glow and shot up into the coil. In a flash, she materialized outside with a loud electrical buzz, now face to face with a deceptively iffy looking RV. Appearances were very deceiving in the case she could feel the oomph that this thing wasn't joking around.
"Pfft you ain't fooling me." She scoffed, the pale skinned woman pointing an accusatory finger at the recreational vehicle, feeling various anomalous sources of energy, though that wasn't the one that really caught her attention... and it was already inside the facility. Not wanting to tempt fate or whatever this thing had packing, Leslie bounced back inside, though as she did so various lights and appliances briefly flickered. With a loud electrical buzz, she popped out of a light panel having missed most of the events so far. "Hey guys! There's this really sketch RV out front, but its juicing with tech. I know Doc Tesla is here, but who else popped in?" Leslie asked, feeling the energy from upstairs.

Hearing his grandfather's words of wisdom and encouragement, Ben had to agree silently. This was the place for him, he could feel it. He was just nervous, is all. Like starting a new school all over again... ugh, nerves! But as soon as they'd stop the RV outside of the Arc, he felt a bit more awed than anything. This building was insane. Stepping out and really taking a look at it, Ben could feel that this was a place he could TOTALLY blend into! Wondering how it looked inside, Ben follows close-by to Max, and he was not disappointed. Though, he mostly kept to himself, his eyes could not help but to wander around and look around the foyer in amazement. Then, something zipped past them through the air, his hair fluttering a bit from the sudden rush as he did not even see what it was! Another super?
Well, no time for that now, as he was soon in front of two robots! This place had ROBOTS?! And some of the most advanced ones he had seen yet! Robo's gusto greeting had him a bit shaken up, just as much as he was PHYSICALLY shaken up from the handshake! "Uuh... thaaaaaaanks?" he answered slowly to the eccentric robot, before they were left with the more stiff and serious one. He'd huff and clear his throat a bit.
"Y-Yeah, that's me... Sir...? Um, name's Ben Tennyson, but I like to call myself 'Ben 10'. I was uh... recommended this group by this guy calling himself 'Invincible'? Said I'd be a right proper fit in here."

"Yeah, well-" Weld gave Caitlin a small sheepish grin,. "Got into a scuffle with some wana-be villains earlier. It was either this or a lawnmower; I decided walking around with a toaster for a while was the better option. I did try to think of several jokes I could do with it, but I heard there was going to be a new guy joining us... so I wanted to make a good first impression." Weld looked to the toaster before shrugging. His attention turned to the growing amount of people present, briefly noticing the older guy walking past up the stairs with a kid behind him... "Hmmm, and I guess that was the new guy?" He looked at Caitlin again. "I prefer it this way, honestly. When it gets silent, I get... antsy."
Weld gave a wave to Kara when Supergirl arrived. "Yo! Kara! You're back. How did the mission go?" He called out to her. He had not seen her in a while, so it was always a nice occasion when she had time to pop in to join the team. "Mine was a total bust, just some weirdos in a warehouse trying to pretend they were some kind of "cult", did not even put up a fight."
Leslie's arrival close to him caused Weld to take a leap to the side, causing the room to vibrate like a small earthquake for a moment afterwards. "Geez, Sparky, don't scare me like that." He said, shaking his head before chuckling. "Sketchy RV? It must be the old guy who is talking with Robot and the Doc upstairs. He was with a kid." He gestured to the stairs going up to Robot's office.

Max's gruff, professional tone was undercut by the sheer joy Robo and his embrace exuded. He reciprocated the act in kind, letting out a telling laugh. Clearly indicating that the duo had history and one that didn't involve scowling. "Good to see you're still in one piece, old friend! Hope Planetary has still let you keep your nuts and bolts in place."
What he meant (and what Robo would clearly catch on with) was Robo's sanity. Max knew how sprawling Planetary was, despite their relatively quiet way of operating. A bad robot pun was a very Max thing. Which made it even more clear that Ben was indeed his family. Robo's enthusiasm immediately extended to Ben as well, which was shortly undercut by the more stoic Robot. Well... as stoic as an artificial intelligence could be. Tesla was swiftly dismissed after that, though something clearly weighed heavy on his mind. Max gave a short nod of acknowledgement at his request, making sure to find him when the team leader introductions were done. "We appreciate the welcome. Ben will be a good addition, if a little over-eager to prove himself. So, what's next in the orientation package?"Robot seemed to be the professional kind. Max respected that. A team full of youngsters needed a leader who could control their impulses. Especially when it contained strong personalities and reformed villains. He wasn't too hot about the latter part, but he knew nothing about them so he chose to reserve his judgement for later. He did hear Livewire asking about the RV below. Taking note of it, Max chose to ignore it for now, but didn't expect her to clock the Rust Bucket's capabilities so quickly.
Kara knew the answer to her question before Carlos had a chance to answer it. Her reaction to his excuse was expected, compounded by Lisa's comment. Kara liked Lisa a great deal, her conviction and intelligence being aspects she truly admired about Paladin. They hadn't managed to interact too much, but she knew there was likely a mutual admiration. She shot the girl a quick smiling glance, before her attention was drawn back to Carlos, who was now extending a hand. She accepted, giving him a firm shake, with just enough strength to not actually injure him further. Kara winced a tiny bit when he used her initials, but that was commonplace with a hotshot (and really, very anxious) teen like Carlos. He also made her predicament very clear, which was honestly, a valid observation.
"Yeahhh, I've been kinda all over the place. Honestly? It's... a lot. Can't talk details, sorry. But I make do. Guess it helps when you're faster than a speeding bullet. And I really try to make time to see you guys! I'm really glad to see you're all doing--"
She glanced quickly over to Carlos' broken bones and Weld's midriff toaster.
"mostly good? So spill, what's been up with you all?"
Kara had left Weld hanging for a minute longer than she intended, but enthusiastically waved back to him the moment she was able. Asking about her mission, she briefly shrugged.
"Hey, Weld! Run-of-the-mill, careening tanker. Swooped in and out, everyone's fine. You, uh, mentioned a cult? I'm trying to make the connection between that and a toaster in your stomach."
Supergirl shot a curious glance at Weld, while miming a circle near her stomach. She did acknowledge the word "cult," however. Weld seemed to dismiss them as a pack of loonies, though she would have to ask for more details before deciding if it really wasn't worth their attention or whether it may have been something bigger without him realizing.

"Call me Robot."
"Robot" was stoic, to say the least. Apart from what he just said, there didn't appear to be a physical reaction from the Robot. Then, his head jerked just slightly, and nodded at the mention of Invincible. "Invincible is one of our best. If he vouches for you, then that is good enough for me."
Robot took a couple steps forward, facing towards Ben as he did so. There was a certain glint in his eye... "Smile for the camera."
Click!
There was no flash, but there was the sound of an old camera shutter within Robot's head. A couple seconds later, a plastic card emerged from one of the thin vents on Robot's chestplate. Upon a closer look, it was a Champions membership card, including a high-fidelity profile shot of whatever face Ben had made in that moment. Whatever it was, it didn't look like Robot minded... though Robot never looked like he minded.
Robot would either allow Ben to take the card directly, or do it himself if the teenager was too apprehensive, handing it to him. "This card will grant you 3rd-class access to the Arc's facilities, including your room, basic amenities, and a limited credit allowance each month." Robot's voice strained on "limited". There was a story to that. Or several.
Robot's attention focused on the curious watch on Ben's wrist for a couple seconds before he was interrupted by Livewire's announcement. Robot looked up at her, as did most of the people in the common room. From the looks on their faces (excluding Robot's), only one or two of them seemed to have a clue about what she was saying. Namely, the woman working the corner, but she kept her head down. Robot was prompt to respond.
"Livewire. There is no cause for concern. The vehicle in question belongs to Maxwell Tennyson. A friend. He is here accompaying his grandson." Robot waved to Ben directly before placing a hand on his shoulder. It was cold, metal, but the gesture was sincere. His eye contact ranged from Livewire to the other members of the team who were taking in this information.
"Per my briefing from last week, today is Ben 10's orientation into the team. Please do your part to make him feel welcome."
"Welcome to the team, dude!" The Arab girl waved from the couch, then quickly turned around to see Captain Marvel dive in front of the diplomat and shoulder the brunt of a high-caliber missile with a flourish of cosmic energy. "So cool..."
For a moment, the woman in the corner raised her voice so that it would carry up to Ben's ears. "Just take things slow. You get used to it... eventually."
"Mrrrh... what'd I miss?" The gree-skinned boy groggily rose rom his stupor. He started to look around, wiping his eyes as he got his bearings... oh, cool. A new guy. He gave a noncommittal wave, then reached down to check his phone.
Carlos squinted as he looked up at the new guy. He folded his arms, fidgeting. He muttered under his breath, only for Kara to (unintentionally) hear. "Bit scrawny, isn't he?"

Caitlin nodded at Weld's response. "Just let me know if you need any help." She said as one of their more prominent members approached. While she had gotten used to most people in the team, she was still a bit unsure how to deal with the more A-list heroes. "Oh hey Super... I mean Kara." She said stopping herself. "I know you're almost as in demand as Superman but do you ever find time to slow down?" She asked as there was a familiar hum and flickering coming from the various electronics.
One of the flashier members of the Champions and a fellow ex-villain, Livewire appeared with a rather bright pop of light. Caitlin understood her a bit, but did she not know how to just use doors? Caitlin crossed her arms as the electric woman was excited about a "sketchy RV". She was going to scold her for being a bit reckless, but Weld pretty much hit the nail on the head, Caitlin just shaking her head for how outrageous her sudden appearance was. Especially as Robot poked out from the upper level to address them all with the kid standing next to him, introducing him as a new member of the Champions. New member? Oh right... she had briefly remembered something about that when she was prototyping her heater last week... "Welcome to the team, Ben!" Caitlin waved from her spot in the kitchen.

Jaw hanging slightly, Leslie was visibly dejected at everyone's rather lackluster reaction to the news she had brought them, she was about to pout until being jarred by Robot's voice from the upper area, initially addressing her concern before speaking to everyone. She composed herself and looked upwards, though from where she was standing, it was hard to see them fully. "New kid... briefing last week?" She muttered, stepping further out into the room more to get a better look at Robot and Ben. Unimpressed by the boy himself, her eyes immediately focused on Ben's wrist, the other energy source she sensed being uniquely out of place... and quite the whopper.
"Uh huh... anyways..." She said quietly before turning her attention elsewhere and walking straight towards the elephant in the room, the man with a toaster in his stomach. She didn't say a word or react at first, completely ignoring the fact that frosty and super cousin were nearby, hands pressed together in front of her face while she tried to avoid demeaning him. "Weld, my metal dude.... what is up with this toaster and is on you by choice?" Leslie asked slightly comedic in her mannerisms and hand motions. Weld was one of the few people she could relate to, at least when it came to the way their bodies and powers worked.

"Huh wha-"
Click!
Wait, had Robot just... yep, he sure had. As the membership card printed out of his chestplate, he'd accept it by taking it for himself, immediately looking at it and saw... his dumbass expression looking like he had just been taken offguard. Which, in all honesty, he had been! A bit of forewarning could've been given! Still, he'd just look at it, then look up at Robot as he'd try and ease up the moment with humor;
"I uh... suppose do-overs are a no-go?"
After chuckling awkwardly at his own joke, he was soon taken to meet the others, and he immediately saw some people that made him raise eyebrows out of curiosity. Weld was definitely one of them, who seemed to be a walking mass of metal with... wait, a TOASTER sticking out of him? How the heck did he get it there? Everyone else seemed to be rather positive in greeting him, especially Kamala and Caitlin. He was a bit weirded out by how Leslie was eyeing the Omnitrix, and Carlos seemed... unimpressed. And then there was that green-skinned guy, and the girl in the corner who were also rather lackluster. And--
'Whoa, no way! Is that Supergirl?!'
He thought to himself, but then cleared his throat and straightened himself, giving everyone who looked at him a wave.
"Hey guys! So uh... name's Ben Tennyson! But you can call me just 'Ben', or 'Ben 10'! Super alien fighter extraordinaire, here to serve justice and kick ass~"
Striking a bit of a pose with his Omnitrix-wielding hand out into a fist, he flashed a white grin as well, hoping he was making a good impression already. He was a bit hesitant to go right into describing what his powers were, not knowing if it'd be safe yet. But if anyone were to question him, he would answer. They'd deserve to know since they were going to be a team, right?
