Once more, mother had been on her case. Getting accepted into U.A. was getting under her skin but now she had impressed upon her to maintain her stellar scores lest she be yanked from the program. Oh, the nerve! Sicily was glad she had someone like Kitana around to make her see sense. She was questioning why she had never considered rebelling against her mother before. It was like the world made much more sense when there was a fluffy tail around. It was a good thing her brother got her out of the house to take some time to think about how she wanted to progress in U.A. from this point forward. Mother or no, Sicily knew she had to keep doing her utmost for her own sake. Her sister was still out there...somewhere.
Walking through town was a good idea. She even thought about going to get a gift for a certain someone. Then it dawned on her that Kitana had recently been involved in an incident at the mall. She wanted to check in to see if she was alright but deep down, she knew Kitana could handle herself. Still...
She frowned as she walked down the path of smalltime stalls and gift stands. Were things going to get rougher from here on out? Was that villain group going to be giving them more trouble? They messed with Kitna. This was personal! But there was no need to go looking for them. As much as she wanted to unleash her fury on some villains, she was simply a student and could not actively fight a villain just yet. Kowing this, she took a deep breath then turned her attention to a bench where she could sit down and gather her thoughts.
Nudged on both cheeks by Avernus and Stella, Sicily smiled reassuringly at her two snakes. It was okay to take a break. They reminded her it was okay and not everything has to be about the anger. Nothing was wrong with being angry but if she was constantly angry, she'd forget alot of things. like how to breathe. She took another breath and leaned back in her seat to cast her gaze skyward. It felt like an eternity since she felt she could relax like this. No stress. No mother breathing down her neck. Just peace.

"Well if it isn't my favorite scaley goddess" Kitana said as Sicily's skyward gaze was blocked by a smiling fox girl face. Kitana hadn't intended for this trip to turn into a date... rather she was just trying to get replacements for the things she'd bought that had gotten messed up in the incident with the D.O. attack, so she had shopping bags and a bunch of receipts. Coming across Sicily had been a pure coincidence.

Seeing the face of Kitana made the heart of Sicily soar higher than the clouds she had seen mere seconds before her vision was overtaken by even greater splendor. Not to mention the compliment put those ill thoughts she was harboring before at ease as she beamed a bright and wonderful smile. Her cheeks flushed. Without delay, her hair reached out and coiled safely around Kitana before lifting her up then casually depositing her right into Sicily's awaiting ebony arms.
"So nice for my Kitana to just drop in!" she lightly smirked. "What are you up to today besides making my day brighter?"

"Just getting replacements for the stuff I bought that got wrecked during the fight at the mall. Some of it survived unscathed, but a lot of it was damaged. I've been able to get the companies to accept exchanges for undamaged product... but in cases where they didn't have more in stock I've had to come here to visit other locations to pick up the replacements" Kitana said "it's a hassle, but on the bright side I've gotten so many complimentary gift cards for my trouble."

News of the fight had reached her ears and when she had first heard about it and it had honestly worried her at first. Those guys were no joke but she knew somewhere deep down that Kitana was going to be alright. She could hold her own even without her there. But just seeing her alright brought a ton of joy to her soul. Her fingertips reflexively grasped upon Kitana's arm.
"Do you need a few extra pairs of eyes to get some things? Or are some of those things secret gifts for a certain someone?" she said with a slight tilt of her head. If only she knew she was here to get a gift for her or maybe she should tell her but withold the details of said gift. All she knew right now was that she was right there and looking as radiant as ever.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out" Kitana said, booping Sicily on the nose "if I did have secret gifts for you and I told you that, they wouldn't be secret anymore silly"

Sicily looked upwards with a smile. "Yeah, I suppose you're right." She took this moment to then take a quick look around before holding Kitana close into an embrace. "Just wanna say...how glad I am you're alright after all of that. I knew you'd kick ass." Avernus and Stella joined in the embrace then nudged them both closer. Sicily didn't take notice and instead was reveling in the fact that Kitana was here with her in this moment. It might seem small but to her, it was a period of grace she didn't want to take for granted. Who knows just how much more frantic school was going to get from here on out.

"I don't know about kick ass" Kitana said, her smile fading "honestly me and Kachiya were barely hanging on... those villains outclassed us by a whole bunch. If Vixen and those vigilantes hadn't showed up we'd be..."
Kitana trailed off, she'd been putting on a very brave face about this whole thing so far, standing by her actions and trying not to let how scared she'd been show... but it slipped here. She'd been struggling to just hold off Demeter's minions, and there'd been multiple other villains there. Demeter could've sent more minions, or the other villains could've chipped in. If that fight had been anything other than them trying to bait Vixen out she'd definitely be dead right now... or if Vixen hadn't shown up... or if the vigilantes hadn't shown up after that once Vixen was struggling with that one villain.
And she'd been too weak to do a thing about it. It bugged her... and scared her. It all worked out in the end but only because everything fell into place just right. It was scary... and it rattled her more than she let on to others. Only Sicily would get to see how shaken up she was.

The way Kitana spoke put a slight frown on Sicily's face. Her eyes turned from animated to one of worry. Her eyes searched for a proper answer to give her fluffy bean. She felt like what she did didn't matter in that situation. Okay, Sicily SIlverbright, what do you say that won't make you sound hurtful and sound like an unfeeling jerk?
Before she could even think up what to say, her hand rested on Kitana's shoulder and she smiled gently while her eyes made contact with Kitana's. "But you're here now; safe and very much alive. In truth, I was worried when I heard the news. My immediate first thoughts were about your safety. I know you can handle your own and you were smart enough to know when to back off." Her other hand that held Kitana's reassuringly had its thumb run across the top of Kitana's fingers.
"But I do worry. In that same way, I have hope you you'll make the right calls." she chuckled, "and even if your call doesn't turn out the way you want, I'll be there to catch you when you fall. Because I know you'd do the same for me." She nervously chuckle and looked sideways with a light blush to her cheeks. "Though I do mess up more often than people think..."

Kitana was hesitant, but looking into Sicily's eyes was soothing as always, and knowing just how worried Sicily was about her was a nice feeling.
"Thanks, it means a lot having you in my corner." Kitana said with a smile as she made her body relax a bit "and you bet I'll do the same for you. Even if your mother tried to take you away I'd break into your family estate and steal you away. I'll always come running to your side... and you know how fast I run."
Kitana grinned, then gave Sicily a tender kiss on the lips just before a raindrop plopped right on her nose, making her jump a bit in surprise "aw man, the rain wasn't due for another hour or so!

Just the one kiss was enough to chase away the uneases that lingered in her heart. Then her eyes widened as the raindrops started up. She hummed, closed her eyes, and smiled. "I don't mind the rain. I actually love it! Heh.." her eyes opened then went to Kitana. She gave an awkward smile. "Oh but floof and rain don't mix. Nearly forgot, heh." Avernus and Stella slithered out and created a makeshift shade for Kitana. Sicily then arose and looked around for some more competent cover from the rain.
With Kitana in her arms still, she made way for a rather large tree she spotted, not minding the rain that dribbled down her face.

"appreciated" Kitana said as she was shielded from the rain, she wrapped her tail around her waist to help keep it under cover "trying to dry my tail out takes forever, if I'm gonna get it wet I at least wanna be swimming or bathing for my trouble"
Once they were under the tree, Kitana glanced over to Sicily, noticing just how shiny the rain had made her skin and the attractive sheen it gave her. It wasn't fair just how attractive this girl was damnit!
"then again, seeing you like this is a worth getting a little wet" Kitana purred, wrapping her arms around Sicily's shoulders and leaning her own forehead against her girlfriend's to look into her eyes

The combination of rain and knowing someone she loved was close, Sicily reciprocated the action by leaning her own forehead against Kitana's then remained under the tree, staring back with her dual-colored eyes. As much as she could easily turn on the charm right now, these eyes contained nothing but softness right now. Her grip lightly tightened to reassure Kitana she wasn't going anywhere. To make her feel safe. To let her know how much she cared. She breathed softly in rhythm.
There they would stand, embracing one another under the tree amidst the pitter patter of steady rainfall. She chose not to speak here and instead take in what was right in front of her. What she had now. What they both had now. It may have formed over the course of a month or so but the strength of the bond that had been formed was something Sicily considered leaps and bounds stronger than any sort of connection she had besides her own brother and sister. Her sister. No. Sad thoughts, go away. Look what's in front of you.
It was relative to her eyes what she was thinking. Those eyes looked off to the side briefly then zeroed back in on Kitana's, clearly showing she was thinking of something else for that short moment.

Kitana smiled softly as they stared into each others eyes. Relishing in the moment even as the rain dampened her fur. A few months ago she'd never be able to connect with anyone, let alone on this level. For someone to hold her like this back home would've been blasphemy in her town. She was free from that now. She didn't have to be a religious symbol, isolated until she was married off to produce another heir. She had friends here, and a girlfriend... that stifling world was so far away now... even the discomfort of the rain couldn't dampen those feelings of elation she felt.
The moment was taken away though, as she noticed Sicily's gaze shift away. Something was bothering her... Kitana pulled back a bit, taking Sicily's hands in her own. "what's wrong? You can tell me. she said softly "I spend enough time looking into those eyes of yours to notice when they give you away.

Of course she would see that. Sicily smiled to herself then gave a light sigh. "Nothing gets by you, huh? Well..." She hadn't brought up this fact since they spoke on the rooftops of U.A. but it was about time she learned just a bit more. After all, there wasn't going to be any secrets. She wasn't going to be like her parents who were obviously hiding something. if only she knew what. Right now though, it was Kitana who was due for a bit of information. "Well, you're...the best thing that's happened to me since I got a brother and sister. I'd fight tooth, nail, and scale to keep you safe...I'd do the same for my brother...but that thing that's been eating me is...why didn't my mother fight harder for my sister when she went missing?" Her brow furrowed and her eyes looked down and away in reflection. "...in the beginning, yeah she tried and did what looked like all in her power to try and find her. But then a month went by and she acted as if it never even happened. Made us all forget she was even here. Even my dad was confused. He thought it might have been mom was despondent and she was only human. But she didn't look sad. Not even a little. Her attention went straight to me and forced me to improve."
Her eyes went to meet Kitana's and were laden with confliction. "On my off-time, I've been trying to find out exactly what happened but all the trails I take end up cold. Like they were made that way and I..." she took a deep breath then calmed down a little before speaking again and when she did, it was tinged with worry. "...I just want to know. To have closure or to have hope that she is out there still somewhere..."
