Sicily didn't quite feel like her presence was made known to all but the more troublesome of the classmates in her eyes. Troublesome in the sense that they'll be the ones to try and cause friction whether it be intentional or not. But it was clear who the one that was going to clearly be the proverbial stick in her craw; Yoichi. Openly challenging others and rocking the boat. It was like she wanted a fight right then and there and if she wasn't concerned with how much of a blemish this would make on her image as a potential hero, Sicily would have done so in a heartbeat.
However, she kept it in. Not worth it. Her nails dug into the desk and the twin largest snakes looked at her with concern. She was better than that, at least. Kachiya liked plushies, huh? Well, anyone who did couldn't be all that bad... she had some of her own, after all. The words of both teacher and the one named Karin rung in her ears. To be an example of the class and U.A. both in and outside its grounds. Did she really want extra eyes on her just for that? That pressure. Face of a new generation? She smiled only lightly to herself. She didn't think of herself THAT highly. But she did see herself morally "better" than Yoichi. Prove themselves? She smirked. Who do YOU have to prove yourself to, Yoichi?
Her palms slammed on the desk as she arose with a composed yet agitated air about her. She inhaled deeply and resisted the urge to glare at Yoichi and Karin alike. Moreso the former than the latter. At least Karin seemed to be more composed and aware...even if she was likely following orders from someone in authority. Something that reminded Sicily of someone which in turn forced a scowl on her face. Koito was happy-go-lucky and there was nothing wrong with that but being overly nice had its flaws. On the outside, she was sure he'd be scoring much higher marks than most but those within U.A. might earn him some ire. Especially with one like Yoichi; a rivalry between the two that did not escape her sights.
"I am here not as a Silverbright. I am here to set an example as what I as a hero can do on my own merit. I would much rather work together despite how I feel about each of you than try to immediately burn bridges..." she shot a quick glance at Yoichi, "...by outwardly displaying immaturity." She placed a closed fist over her heart. "Compromise. That is one of the things I believe in. I will work with each and every one of you both individually and a whole. Will you like me? Maybe not. Will I do my utmost to be an example of how U.A. should look? Yes. Will I be nice? I can be. To some, I may look mean and to some, downright cold. But will things get done? Yes."
Her arms, instead of being close to herself, instead extended outward in a less selfish gesture. "Heroes aren't perfect...and neither am I. But what they can do for others is help and compromise. How others perceive them should be one that is both intimidating but reliable. Sometimes, it shouldn't matter if they see them as friendly. So long as they are safe and protected and comfortable." She turned to face the rest of the class with her snakes once again extended to give her a bigger presence. "You may nominate me if what you feel resonates with my thoughts. I can assure you, you won't regret it and the class will be in safe hands...." she gave a somewhat playful smile as if to show a more friendly side as a start "...and scales."
She then took her seat with one leg over the other. The twin snakes gave her an affirming nod. It wasn't perfect but it was a start.

Yann nodded and hurried along hopping towards the last remaining front seat, his backpack making jangling noises. He gave a worried hum all the way, his imagination is quite hostile when it comes to undisclosed consequences.
Rummaging through his backpack as professor Klaus explained the topic of class reps, Yann pulled out a strange, padded contraption made of metal. After placing it on his seat and fiddling with it some, it was evident it was some sort of seat to prop him to a more adequate height for his desk. He hung his back to the back of the school desk and hopped straight up towards his new seat. He had heard some of the introductions from outside the classroom, but he would have to match them to the students proper. While leaning to his right to reach for a notebook to put down, he leaned towards Kachiya and gave her the briefest "Hi I'm Yann" before continuing on. He'll introduce himself to the classmate with the exotic hair in a few moments while the very eloquent classmate went on to wish the class luck in a roundabout way. The thought distracted Yann momentarily, what election process lets you cast a vote for yourself anyways? Why was someone making guttural noises?
Yann's ears twitched upwards as Koichi broke the silence with much more gusto, wow that sounded...good, I guess, get the team spirit up for, uh, he thought he wasn't that late to class, it was clear that he missed something...was the person behind him carving wood? The rabbit didn't flinch for a second time, but his fur twitched up for a second anyways as miss Silverbright(?) took the stand, aggressively. He searched for a book of some description and quickly dug through its pages while Sicily went on, scratching the back of his head in apparent confusion, glancing at Sicily's seat, then back at the schedule in his hands, and everyone else on the room. "Excuséz me", Yann timidly raised his hand towards the professor, visibly concerned that his first impressions of the young student was that he disappointed him twice. "J' hmm was I uh supposed to prepare a draft for this class?"

Sicily-"I'll just...go ahead and nominate myself as well. No offense but...I feel like you might not know what you're getting yourself into..."
Koito blinked... "Sheesh! You just subtly dissed me after telling everyone to get along? I can't tell if you're serious or not, hahaha!" He chuckled. He didn't take these things to heart. She must have been like Yoichi. The kind who wanted to prove themself! Trying hard wasn't all bad, he enjoyed healthy competition, but he wasn't the biggest fan of the two being so uptight. Maybe they could be friends down the line, but for now they were people to overcome. He eyed Gigabite when the prospect of an election was brought up. So a proper vote was in order? Should be a easy win. By his own measure, he felt as though he earned it already. He not only pushed everyone into talking to each other, but he also was the first to even bring class representative up. To Koito, these kids were just following his lead no matter how much more aggressive they were than him. A number one's gotta do what a number one must do! He'd spur into action to raise his hand, but quickly brought it back in recoil. Finally connecting the dots, Gigabite's words marinated in his noggin. Karin's words words were sprinkled in as well. DUH HE WANTED TO BE THE FACE OF THE NEW GENERATION. The surface level part flew right over his head. His cockiness came from the ability to prove himself, but was it worth it in this circumstance? As far as he was concerned, he was the only one fit for the job in this crop of kids. Shizo was just there so his parents didn't throttle him. Kachiya was nice. Karin didn't even seem to care. Yoichi and Sicily were the only ones putting up a fight, but it was more toxic than sportsmanlike. Those two needed to lighten up before things got ugly. Were the going to fight? Gigabite has already said it couldn't be won by force. Decisions. Decisions.
Gigabite-"I was going to bring this up later, but since many of you have expressed an interest in it, I suppose we can address it now. This homeroom is going to need a class representative. This is not a responsibility to be taken lightly. You will need to serve as an example for your entire class, to the rest of U.A. as well as outside the school. I am obligated by school policy to permit you to determine who your representative will be..."
Luckily Sicily did him the honor of having a mini-speech first. Hearing her could help him think things over. Purely for the sake of being petty, he-"Not here as a Silverbright... but what happened to the Silverbright light?" He cackled, mocking her intro. If she could dish it out, she should be able to take a diss back. Honestly, the more she talked, the more put off he was. Though these weren't foreign feelings than the ones that Yoichi gave. He had to be strategic here, was being class rep really everything? To him it was just a notch on the belt for bragging rights. He'd already cleared the more villain robots, so why bother? Being class rep... sure it could be looked at with admiration, but it probably had some negatives... like extra responsibilities.... helping the teacher with wrangling fellow classmates.... being the "good" one..... MORE RESPONSIBILITIES. He'd paused. ~~They say a great leader always starts as a follower... Mhmm mhmm~~ He chimed to himself in thought, forcing the logic to fit his lazy route. Why the hell would he want more schoolwork when he could be training? IDEA! His hand flew up, smile cocky as ever.
"If it's up to a vote, I'll rescind my candidacy and lob my vote to Yoichi! She scored more villain robo points than both Shizo and Kachiya in our exam. Still less than me, but pfff ya knooooow. We can let these two ladies duke it out for votes!" To be honest he couldn't actually vote for anyone else. He didn't really know anything about Sicily besides her bad attitude. So if he had to choose between two bad attitudes, he'd go with the one he was already familiar with. More obvious than that, he was going to let the two go at it, because he didn't have any real policies or anything to bring up. He wasn't the brightest, but he knew better then to stick his head in a word game like this one. This was all about persuading people and gaining a short term approval. He didn't care about either, he just wanted some more bragging rights. This alternate route was just fine. There were other wins to look forward to in the school year.

Shizo considered his options. Sicily seemed a decent enough candidate... her speech was good anyway. But he could read her body language leading up to it. She was glaring at multiple people, and her speech as good as confirmed that she was already getting bad impressions of people and becoming subtly hostile towards them. Give that a whole year and it was bound to blow up one way or another. And then of course there was Yoichi being backed by Koito... he didn't like the idea of someone as confrontational as her being the leader either.
Both candidates were going to stir up drama and problems down the line... and nobody else was volunteering themselves... ugh. He was gonna have to wasn't he?
Reluctantly Shizo stood up "I'm well aware that I don't seem like a likely choice for this position. My lack of vision for what kind of hero I wanna be doesn't paint me in the best light. I get it. But ironically enough, my current situation makes me a good fit." he began "here we have a class full of big personalities and strong visions. We've been here all of half an hour and half of you are already glaring at each other like you're mortal enemies. You all have strong motivations and a vision for what you want out of this class, and that's great! For being a student here."
Shizo looked around at some of the problem students driving him to standing up like this. "But your ambitions and competitive drives and rapidly forming animosity towards each other don't contribute to a stable leadership and class environment. I'm sure none of you will intend it, but you're going to cause drama and conflict here eventually going as you are now. Your visions for how things should be will clash, and it's going to blow up in someone's face." he said "So instead I propose you pass this particular role off to me, the only thing I want is for things to run smoothly. I've finally got the time and space to explore who I am and what kind of hero I want to be, and I don't want that being derailed by any clashes between those of you who know those things already."
Shizo would stand up tall and speak with conviction now, a fire in his eyes and tone that had been lacking when talking about himself before. "I'll keep this class running smoothly, and facilitate everyone getting to pursue their goals. No unnecessary drama, no administrative stuff in your way. I'll be the one who makes sure the rest of you can get everything you want out of this year. I'll treat everyone fairly and equally, without biases, and I'll work my rear off to make sure everyone has all the support they need. That's my promise if you vote for me."
With that Shizo would retake his seat. He wasn't sure if he'd convinced anyone, but he'd made an effort at least. He could only hope that even if he didn't win, whoever did would take into account what he said and strive to avoid drama wherever possible.

Kachiya kept her head as low as possible as the debate before her consumed her classmates.
Koito, Yoichi, Sicily, shizo... They had all volunteered themselves to be class president. Koito, Yoichi and Sicily all had very powerful personalities but... Being class president was about more than just someone who was powerfu. At the moment, she was partial to Yoichi as due to her experience with her already. She had a bad impression on the silverbright girl and even though her lineage may have led some credence to how she would have the skills for the role she didn't like the attitude and koito seemed like he didn't take responsibility well. Definitely not who she wanted to lead the class. Shizo also had a point and he could be a good candidate as well.
In her mind, she recalled her meeting with the sensei. She needed to be more assertive, needed to put herself more out there and... She knew she had the necessary skills for the job. She took a deep breath and raised her hand
"uhm... Sumasen I uh... I would like to be considered as well. My skill set fits the role perfectly and I am also a more neutral party. I... I know I can be a little shy but I am very organized and very good at planning"
She stated and as she did so, she showed the class her meticulously detailed planner for each day
"I am very sympathetic and care about everyone. I know how to prioritize issues and uhm, I can be sure people will be satisfied with my work. I won't rest until my classmates are satisfied so uh.. please consider me"
She stated. There was a slight undertone of conviction underneath her meek and soft countenance. She would give the class one last bow before sitting down hoping she sounded more convincing than she felt

Oh, so he didn't have to, everyone here just was more into this hero culture than he was and was so ready for it, it prompted a gritted inhale.
Yann closed the book in his hands and placed it perpendicularly on his desk, hanging his head behind it for a moment, it's fine, he told himself, this is school, if he can't stand for himself in the safest place in his career then he probably shouldn't have made the trip here anyways. "I'll do it as well", Yann slid down the book and announced to the class, as loud as his tiny voice carried. "My name is Yann Dupont and I uhunderstand that I missed the mark on my first impression, but mistakes are not going to deter me. Not to decry the right to abstinence, but it wouldn't sit well with my conviction to pass this by", Yann proposed. As of right now, the young rabbit believes his only skill is to lead people to safety, how would he ever accomplish this if he were afraid that people would follow him?
"I'll earn your trust, if not now, then when we both need it the most"

Yoichi felt herself flushed, angry and confused. Koito nominated her? She ground her teeth, listening to the others. Out of all of them, only one seemed to stand out. Yann and Kachiya sounded keen, but not firm enough to lead their class. Shizo seemed to be self-deprecating in his approach, and was that the kind of person they wanted as the face of 1-A! Yoichi stewed for a little longer, staring ahead at the front of the class, until...
She rose up, eyes fixed on Giga Bite as she clenched her jaw, bunched her hands into fists and declared:
"I reject the nomination! I... I don't feel like I am up to being in such a role. I still have a lot to learn, and I would be doing this class a disservice to try and lead it! Apologies, sensei... but I must be honest!"
Yoichi sat down hurriedly, feeling a deep well open up in the pit of her stomach. This class, this place, thenother students and everything inbetween... wasn't it just too much for anyone to handle?

Karin's expectant and watchful eyes took in the sights of each of the students that wanted to nominate themselves for the role. Of course, she'd listen to what they had to say, as well as a couple of the others that had second thoughts. The whole time, she was smiling and quietly humming to herself in a carefree manner, clearly enjoying the chaotic proceedings as she eliminated her list of candidates one by one. The first thing that came to mind for Sicily was the word selfish — she seemed to want everything done in her own way, speaking very matter-of-factly as if her assumptions would already happen. Well, Sicily had said it herself, she wasn't perfect, but the way Karin agreed with that sentiment would be in a different way than what the snake girl was probably thinking of. It also seemed like her classmates felt similarly. Koito, well, putting him in any kind of leadership position could be disastrous, with a clear lack of consideration or thought beyond the first instinct that popped into his head. It'd be a good property that would help him on the battlefield and save precious time, especially if he had a knack for intuition, but not as a public representative. Shizo's head was in a level space and he had good reasoning, but this was a person whose time would probably be better spent focusing on taking care of himself and his own issues before having the capacity to do so for many others. Kachiya, well, she seemed to be a pretty timid girl which wouldn't naturally lend itself to a public position, but a diligent worker with good organizational skills could take care of most of these issues behind the scenes rather than in front of everyone. Karin would have to see how this girl performed physically, a weak representative would probably not reflect well on the class, but she did not have much information on her classmates outside of how they presented themselves, and for that matter, such a thing was not a requirement for the position anyway. Yann, it seemed, was just looking to follow everyone else's example and join in the nominations, which was a good look on his motivation, but in a class like 1-A, that should be the baseline expectation. Not to mention he was considerably late — at least he was aware of his shortcomings, but they were issues nonetheless. Yoichi did not seem to want to take on the role of class representative, and her reasoning was sound. Like Shizo, it seemed that this girl also had a good head on her shoulders. Given some more time and confidence, Yoichi would probably end up in a better place than she was in at the moment.
Satisfied, Karin raised her hand. Despite the lack of an ideal candidate to nominate, which would have made the decision much easier, considering the impressions she felt from each of her classmates, it was not too difficult of a choice to make regardless. "Given the statements from each of you, I would like to nominate Kachiya Kuzu for class representative. She appears to have the capacity to fulfill what the role would ask of her, without an overbearing ego, lack of responsibility, or personal issues that would inhibit such a position. I do not believe there is an ideal candidate in the room, but considering the personalities we have, she would be the most likely to succeed without trouble." Lowering her hand, she gave Kachiya a reassuring nod.

Lucien was late. SO late. Which is annoying since he WOULD have been right on time if he hadn't tried to hurry and trip over the last stair on the way to class. Now he had spent the last half hour trying to guide the rest of his body to get him back onto his shoulders.
The entire class would watch as the head of a corpse rolled into the classroom and sighed before blowing some hair out of his eyes.
"Pour l'amour de la merde! Come on, mon ami, I am right here!!"
After the head came a body; sickly gray with stitches all over keeping it together, but wearing the UA uniform nicely. It came hobbling in and approached the head with what looked like some hesitation.
"Oui! Oui, mon ami! Over here. That's it. Little more. Little more. No! Wait too much!"
The head would get kicked like a soccer ball right into the far wall of the classroom before making an agitated expression and letting out another annoyed sigh.
"We really need to work on your coordination, my friend." He noted as the body finally managed to pick him up since there was no where left for him to roll. With his head back where it should be he would turn to the teacher and gave a slight bow. "Désolé, Monsier Ritter. Apologize for my tardy. I lost my head for a bit. You know as they say, if it isn't attached and all that." He laughed at his own cheesy joke, shrugging off the mishap. "I will be more careful on the stairs going forward."
With that, he headed to his desk and took a seat, looking around to his classmates with a grin that could belong to a great white shark. "Bonjour, mes amis. Did I miss much?"

Koito took in everyone's thoughts. This was becoming more and more of a drag. Maybe he shouldn't have brought it up... Since there wasn't much going back, and Yoichi denied his vote, that meant he could point it elsewhere. But WHO? He wondered. To be honest, he was proud of both Kachiya and Shizo for bossing up and throwing their hats in the ring. It was admirable coming from them both, especially since they preferred to be out of the limelght. With a finger pointed, he'd just bounce in between them whilst muttering eenie meanie minie moe. Out of all these new options, he still preferred to vote for a familiar face over some he'd never met. That ruled out the others.
Before he could finished off his picking game, another kid waltzed in. For 1a there sure were a lot of tardy students. "Yeah kid, you're in the middle of us picking a class pres. " He noted, aiming to get the boy up to speed in as little time as possible. Upon "if he hollers let em go," it would be Shizo who was let go. That meant he'd have to go with Kachiya. "Okay okay, my extra special, good judge of character powers are telling me to vote for Kachiya, since number 2 doesn't want the job anymore." Sticking his tongue out at Yoichi and giving Kachiya a thumbs up.

Sicily sighed deeply as she was just wanting this to end. They were already set on nominating Kachiya even after that explanation she thought was stirring. But it appears she put too much of her own pride into it. Wasn't that what they all wanted? Confidence? To show they could count on someone? "Each and every one of these people..." she muttered to herself, looking plenty irked, "...why'd they all bring this up if no one was going to really listen?"
She was so utterly agitated that her lesser snakes were hissing low while the other two main ones looked at her in utter concern. She didn't even notice the other person that walked right in. If she just gave up, what kind of person would that make her? If she didn't win, what was the point of putting in that effort? She was ready to scream about how this was all just a pointless farce just to have someone...they can count on.
Was that it? Was she so detached from the rest of them that she looked like the least dependable for this role?
"Do what you all want..." she grimaced, tightening her fists. She wasn't about to order them like someone she knew. If they nominated her, that was fine. If they didn't, no love lost.

((Getting this moving again. Remember, please post within the week if you would like to contribute to the current round of interactions. There is technically no post order, but please post only once for the round.)) It was a spirited discussion, indeed. They were beginning to get a feel for one another, and he them. Already there were conversations he was looking forward to having, as well as conversations that would be a little more difficult to approach. But none of that mattered in the present moment. Speaking of... Upon the last student's entrance into homeroom, Giga Bite's antennae twitched, and his larger mandibles made a jerking motion. His eyes were immediately trained on Lucien, but he did not say anything. However, the gaze said plenty: You are late. Take a seat.Giga Bite clasped his four hands in front of him with a resounding boom to ensure that he got everyone's attention. "Thank you, everyone. It would seem that we have a winner." The teacher turned to address the girl in question. "Kachiya, I will give you the appropriate paperwork after class. You will need to fill out the forms and return them to me to make things official.
"Now, to our first lesson, with what time we have left." Giga Bite walked over to the chalkboard. With dexterity that ought to be beyond someone of his size, he picked up a piece of chalk and scribbled on the board, legibly and large enough for everyone to read: What is a Hero? Giga Bite turned back to look at his students expectantly, still carefully holding the piece of chalk between the tips of his index and middle finger. Who would answer first?

"Good on ya~" He gave the girl a thumbs up. So GB was going to pick? Made sense. If left to their own devices, they'd just start arguing. He'd adjusted himself in his desk. It was the first day, so he wouldn't slack of... YET. Actually, he wanted an A. Unlike his middle school career, hero school was the only time the spiky-haired teen cared about school. His hand flung up without hesitation. "Someone cool! They are inspiring, and responsible. Someone a person can always look to and trust to make the save." He rattled off a few things. He'd spit out a few more things, although the answer developed into a more solid idea as he went on. "A hero is... A hero is a beacon. They bring hope, light, and safety."

"Someone..."
What was a Hero, to Yoichi? She thought of Nocturne. Why was he a good hero? He didn't hunt for fame, he just selflessly protected poeple from harm. She frowned, thinking. If that was a hero, then what was she? Aiming for the top spot without thought of what it meant to be there... she frowned harder.
"Someone who gives up their lives for the sake of others. Someone... who selflessly protects those, and asks for nothing back."
Not like you then, you little hypocrite. Her mother was whispering poison into her ear, so Yoichi curled into herself, arms gripping the opposite side of her body. You want to be a hero for all the wrong reasons. Foolish little girl! These people have filled your head with rot and stupid thoughts. Selfless! You, my dear, are selfish and small! If that's what a hero is, then a hero you are not, nor will you ever be!
"Shup up...",Yoichi whispered to herself, tears pricking her eyes like tiny pins of self-loathing.

When all was settled, the girl with the snake hair stared at the message now posed to her. it was a burning question and one that gave her pause. Avernus and Stella looked to the conflicted, searching eyes of their owner. Her only image that invaded her head was that of her own mother which was a total affront to what a hero, in her her head, should be.
She opened her mouth to speak. Then Yoichi's words came out. She looked to Yoichi and an eruption of realization sprawled before her very eyes. They were like her. It was enough to summon a gathering of tears to the corners of her eyes. Her chin wrinkled as she contained the rest. Her fingers trembled and her eyes shut. The twin snakes gave a look of concern to the girl.
"What is a hero?" the board asked. She reflected on the actions between what she did and what that woman did. Sicily did it because it felt right. She disregarded what image meant. Perfection? She faced upward and gave a wry smile. Ridiculous. Okay, Sicily. Let them know.
She sniffled and inhaled all the conflicted feelings and pain. A snake was kindly enough to wipe away what fraction of tears there were by instinct. Be strong. She stood up abruptly, standing tall. Then declared in a bold voice.
"A hero is someone who stands for freedom! Who does what is right, sometimes without thinking! Who doesn't care about fame and fortune! And treats everyone on equal ground! They're someone one should look up to with good feelings in their heart and should never feel scared by them!"
Her nostrils flared, breathing heavily. Her eyes were still brimming with resolute passion. She closed her mouth which had her teeth bared. She remained standing for awhile before sitting back down. Her elbows were placed upon the desk and her hands across her face while her twin snakes affectionately nudged her arms.
