Tsukiko grimaced at the reminder of the boiling rain... that had really REALLY not been a pleasant first scouting of the world. As they approached the house some odd owl...tube...door thing gave Eda a hard time, and she had no clue what to make of it. It was... well it's voice was grating and it seemed to be a bit of a troublemaker... but it also had a sort of infectious energy to it. Hooty was the name huh... she'd just... sort those thoughts out later.
More importantly now though, while Eda was recomposing herself there was another resident of this home to say hello too, and Tsukiko wasted no time darting over to snatch up King and begin doting on him again... and offering a snack as tribute to the king of cuteness.
"well hello again you little cutie, I've missed you, whose a cute little guy, you are, that's right it's you!" Tsukiko cooed as she doted on and rocked King around, then paused and blushed as she realized she had an audience

As if hearing a compliment for the first time, Hooty gasped deeply and laughed triumphantly. "See, Eda?! The glasses work! Oh fair maiden whose pulchritude is matched only be your equally so words! You are MOST welcome! And how may this humble house demon address thee?" spoke Hooty in a very eloquent manner which made Eda simply groan as she set the staff down and let Owlbert roam free.
King noticed Lucille first and took a defensive stance on all fours in an attempt to look fierce. But this was superseded the moment he was scooped up in Tsukiko's embrace who he recognized. At first, he squirmed in her grasp. Then he'd simply wiggle then snatch the snack she offered with great energy. "Weh!" He giggled with all the doting and Eda watched on with a look of surprise. She smirked.
"This one here loves King, if that wasn't already obvious." she tried to remember their names. Did she have to? yeah, she probably did. it'd make things easier rather than call them by their features. "Cute as he is, King is not why you're both here...so take a seat...I need to get myself some apple blood." She scratched under her chin and made her way into the next room. What was she going to do? She's never been a teacherly type. Ugh. Apple blood made sense at least.

At the sight of Tsukiko doting on the little fella Lucille simply giggles. "Don't mind me, dote all you want," She says with a wave of a hand before glancing to Hooty. "And you can just call me Lucille. No need to be so formal, I'm just a farmgirl, not some kind of nobility," She responds.
Finally Eda says her part and upon the instruction to sit Lucille does so without any fuss, setting her blade off to the side and then having a seat on the couch to patiently await what it is Eda has planned... Though if she were to hazard a guess, this lady isn't exactly the planning type. Oh well, nothing wrong with a little winging it, especially when it comes to the whims of magic... Right?

As Eda went to collect herself, Tsukiko eventually recovered from the cuteness enough to take a seat along with King in her arms, still doting on him a little bit, but more focused on her surroundings again.
"so, what's your deal? Not too many farmgirls learning swordplay and magic from the Guardians... judging by your handshake earlier you're really training hard too" Tsukiko asked, glancing to the blade, then to Lucille "not to mention your little friend, the dream eater you called him? There were some long forgotten bits of lore about those back on my homeworld. Not a lot though, we might've had a lot of murals, temples, and artifacts from ancient times, but actual recorded history was a bit light. It's kinda wild to see a thing of myth just bouncing around cutely like a puppy"

Tsukiko's inquiry makes Lucille shrug. "Well... I really AM just a farmgirl, the whole point of all this is to make me something more than that," She starts. "I ended up finding Calaguru by complete accident and kiiiiinda got roped into something way bigger than myself. Cal isn't a regular dream eater either, they're uhhhh, jeez I forgot the term... Buuuuut basically they have the Heart of an ancient legendary Wielder from ages past inside of them and they're training me up to help Cal find them," She explains, before chuckling nervously. "Ehehe, but uhhhh nobody has any clue how I'm supposed to do that... Sooooo basically I've got a lot of skills to learn because who knows how much fighting, sleuthing, studying, and exploring it might take. The one nice thing about all this though is I'm not really on a time limit. Cal has been hanging around for hundreds of years, so it's not like I need to go find their master tomorrow or something like that,"
"What about you? You got some grand quest you've been enlisted for?" Lucille asks.

Tsukiko listened to Lucille's explanation with her trademark unreadable expression, but she nodded along. It seemed this girl had a lot on her plate, no wonder she was seeking out all the teachers she could find. Tsukiko wasn't much different herself after all, so she got it.
"You could say I do yeah" Tsukiko said when asked if she had her own grand quest "I'm looking for things too, a way to restore my world for one... and a friend I'm sure must have survived the fall of the world. I'm not making much progress on either one, but I'm going to need strength to do both, so I'm in a similar boat as you on that front"

Lucille blinks in surprise at that. "Restore your world? Pardon my lack of awareness, what exactly do you mean by that? I didn't even know other worlds existed until around a month ago, so this whole thing is kind of new to me," She asks.

Tsukiko blinked in surprise herself "Oh, well, you know about the heartless right? Well turns out they can steal more than just the hearts of people... they can steal the hearts of worlds too. When they do... well it's quite literally the end of the world. It gets consumed, people and all. Only especially strong or lucky people survive and end up scattered to other worlds" she explained, seeming remarkably calm considering the subject matter, but there was a hint of pain in her voice

Lucille just... Pauses for a few moments to digest what she just heard. Worlds can just... End? The Heartless can do that?
"I... Don't really know how to respond to that. That's horrific on a scale I can't even imagine," She says. She looks pensive as she thinks on it some more. "Restoring a whole world that fell to darkness seems pretty insurmountable. Makes my odd scavenger hunt seem somewhat mundane by comparison," She remarks with a nervous chuckle.

"Well, I do have one advantage" Tsukiko said, holding a hand out and manifesting her light keyblade "my keyblades are especially potent weapons against the heartless, and mine in particular have some kind of tie to my world, so they double as a lead. I might be on a crazy mission, but I have plenty of tools to work towards it. I think you being able to put down the plow and pick up a blade instead is impressive in it's own way, especially for a mission you've got no clue how to even approach."

Lucille glances at the keyblade with an awed look. "Wow, are all keyblades so impressive looking? So far I've only seen Ignia's," She remarks, before sighing as she addresses the other part. "Still, even with an awesome weapon you're only one person. Waging a crusade to take back an entire planet isn't really possible to do alone, even a newbie like me can wager that much," She posits.

"Well, there's one other out there somewhere. A... friend of mine. She was as strong as I am, stronger in some ways. She might not have had her keyblade at the time, but there's no way she's gone... I refuse to believe she's gone... If I can find her, she can help... but it's not like there's anyone else from home I can work with, maybe a couple town guards were strong enough? But I doubt it." Tsukiko said, letting the keyblade vanish again "but that's why I'm here, to learn all I can. I might be on my own, but I wanna be strong enough to get by anyway. Same goes for you too right?"

Lucille smiles. "Yep, pretty much. I still hold out hope I can return to living a normal, quiet life once this is all over. Though given how long my training might take on top of the wild goose chase itself I don't know how old I'll be by the time I figure out how to get Cal back to their master," She then chuckles. "Who knows, maybe I'll end up becoming some sort of old sensei that ends up being roped into teaching some new upstart adventurer, thus continuing the cycle," She jokes.

Hooty seemed placated for now and simply went about his business...whatever that was, now filled with a renewed sense of self that got him to chattering. "Oh boy! A farmgirl! Eda! Let's have her grow stuff for us!"
Just as he started, Eda walked in sipping from a mug. "Nah nah, junk is where it's at, Hooty. We won't get anything for food."
"Says you! Food attracts all sorts of bugs I could eat! I would solely benefit!"
"We can't just go turning random kids I'm teaching into a cheap form of labor!" she rubs her chin and murmurs "Pretty sure that's illegal which is usually something I'm all for..." She clicks her tongue and shrugs as she eyes King squirming comfortably in Tsukiko's grasp. Cal sat astutely near Lucille, trying to look as noble as possible...before flopping to the side like a lump. Eda shakes her head, takes a deep breath, then sighs. "Alright, let's do this..." she mutters before setting down her mug and standing before the two prospective students.
"Alright kids. First question; where do you think magic comes from?"

Lucille chuckles at the banter between Hooty and Eda. "Much as being enlisted as free labor has its appeal, I need to find Cal's master first before I settle back into some kind of normal life," She responds.
Then the following question from Eda makes her pause. It's such a simple question, deceptively simple. It's the kind of question where she has many different possible answers. Magic could be a part of the world or the universe, or it could be all about enforcing your will upon the world, or any number of other possible answers. However she takes a step back from her fantasy books and seems to mull things over as she looks back at the displays of magic she's seen, and the few times she was able to use magic herself. Clearly it's not something anybody can just do out of the blue, she didn't even know magic existed until she got into this whole mess. Then there's the matter of how she's really just using Cal's power to cast magic rather than her own. Obviously magic isn't exclusive to dream eaters, but she's left to wonder why not just anybody can use magic. Clearly it doesn't come from the mind, there was plenty of times in the past where she tried to concentrate REALLY hard on making something levitate because she was a kid who loved fantasy but no amount of belief or will ever worked. It seemed to echo that sentiment now that she's trying to do magic for real. Every time she tried to use magic no amount of wacky hand motions, saying magic-y stuff, or just focusing seemed to make it work. And then when it matters most FLASH FLASH, she does some cool shit without even really knowing how. The only times she's used magic is in moments of need, or moments of intensity...
"Well... I'm not completely sure. If I did I wouldn't be having so much trouble with it, but I think it has something to do with emotions. The few times I was instructed I was told to focus on what I was feeling," She remarks. "It sounds kinda cheesy but if I were to hazard a guess, something like the heart? Or at least A heart, given I'm technically using Cal's for all the magic I've done thus far," She wagers.
