Tsukiko watched as the new threat formed, striking the house and nearly striking Eda, prompting the old witch to focus her efforts on making a stronger barrier around her home, leaving her, Lucille, and the otherworlders to deal with what looked like a giant scorpion. On the one hand, it was bad to have lost Eda's help in this battle while also being forced to step up and keep everyone safe... but on the other... it wasn't that giant humanoid thing she'd seen before her home fell. If that wasn't here, then this world was probably still ok... and the otherworlder's world was possibly ok too. That filled Tsukiko with relief, in stark contrast to Lucille who seemed to be freaking out.
Tsukiko placed a hand on Lucille's shoulder "It's ok, we can beat this. Look at it, it's big, but big heartless tend to have noticeable weak points, look at its stinger. It's not armored like the main body, and that's where it's face is, I bet it's weak to damage there. It'll probably take a bit of punishment, but it's not invincible, no heartless is. she said, then glanced around at the situation... she said that, but the thing was fast in it's attacks. And she didn't much fancy a war of attrition with her being the only healer trying to keep five people alive as well as herself. They needed a more overwhelming offense. "I don't need you to kill it though, I have a plan"
Tsukiko stepped away and resummoned both keyblades, then shouted out to the group "Alright everyone I need your help. There's a thing I can do but it's very difficult and requires a lot of concentration to start up, I need the five of you to buy me time so I can focus, just keep it busy for a bit, I'll take the lead soon as I'm ready"
Tsukiko gave Lucille a reassuring smile, then cast haste on the girl to give her a bit of a helping hand "you can do this, just keep it distracted for a little while, and you'll get to see some really cool magic roasting this monster alright? Just trust in yourself, and if you can't, trust me.
With that Tsukiko took a more defensive stance and focused, her twin keyblades beginning to glow with their respective energies as she began building up power. The energies seemed to fluctuate, with one being brighter than the other, then dimming as the other glowed brighter, oscillating between them both as each overtook the other in intensity. It seemed she was trying to balance them. The concentration on her face showed this was far from easy, like the two energies were refusing to even out. Tsukiko hadn't done this much yet, back before the fall the blades could do this effortlessly as both were light keyblades... now they strained against each other, fighting the process every step of the way... but if she could manage it she could take this heartless down for sure. She just needed the others to cover her until then.

No sooner than Tsukiko begin to charge the energies did the Heartless seem to react to the keyblades' presence. It raised its claws up and snapped them fiercely at the otherworldly denizens who jolted back.
"Okay. This thing is bad news! You better let ME handle it!" "As much as I believe in your strength, dear Ed, we best do this together." "YOU guys can! I'm gonna find cover!" "Mooch, how could you?!" "Like this!"
Mooch, the squirrel-like monster, started to sprint but not before Eda piped up.
"Oh no ya don't!" with a grunt, Eda waved her hand and a gout of fire blocked Mooch's path. Just then, Eda clutched her chest and grit her teeth. "Need incentive? I got munny!" Mooch's eyes lit up. "It's yours if you can help that girl beat that thing!"
Mooch stood there for a moment then turned about face. "Let's beat this thing, guys!"
"You're incorrigible, Mooch." "Glad to have that sorted out, now let's get this thing! We need to buy time, right?"
Ed dove forward and put his arms up to shield himself from the sudden claw lunge. After the initial block, he'd wrap his arms around the left claw and pin it down with a hefty thud. As the secondary claw came to catch him, a set of cards came whistling out from under Ace's sleeves. They then momentarily enlarged to create a barrier to deflect the claw attack. Realizing its attacks had been thwarted, thrust its tail toward Ed still grappling the claw. Mooch quickly fished out a rather large piece of Munny and let the sun refract off its shiny surface and right into the eyes on the tail itself which screeched. The Stinger struck the ground near Ed which was then quickly stabbed by a few quick thrusts from Moray's rapier.
The four then regrouped and readied themselves for the creature's next attack. This came in the form of its tail tip shining and crackling like sparks before issuing forth a set of three purplish beams brimming with electricity. One aimed at the four, one aimed at Tsukiko, and the other at Lucille. Ed took the brunt for the group of four, grunting in pain as he did. Ace took it upon himself to toss out another card that barely managed to absorb the impact for Lucille before shattering. Moray, meanwhile, performed a pinpoint thrust directly into the beam aimed at Tsukiko as it was split.
"Never thought I'd see the day I'd be working alongside a human..."

Tsuki's reassuring hand on Lucille's shoulder brings her back down to earth from her panicked state as she hesitantly nods. "O-okay... I trust you," She says, steeling herself. It's fine, she doesn't need to do damage, she just needs to get the giant death scorpion's attention and not die to its attacks. Simple, right? Yeah, totally.
She shakes her head to dismiss her doubting thoughts as she steps forward. When Tsuki casts haste on her the world seems to slow down, giving Lucille more time to react and think about her next move. As she sees the scorpion do its beam attack she notices the crackling electric energy. Seeing a bolt heading right for Tsukiko, she realizes she needs to act. Electricity is drawn to metal right? She glances down to her rapier. Not like she'll need this since she can't hurt it anyways, so screw it. She winds up and throws her rapier to intercept the beam, acting as a metallic lightning rod to absorb the attack and disperse the electricity into the earth once it hits the ground. She also avoids what's left of the partially blocked blast heading her way as she then runs up closer to the scorpion despite her reservations. Putting both hands up to her mouth she yells out at it. "HEY UGLY! You call that an attack? My grandma could dodge that!" She taunts, putting on her best defiant stance. "I bet you couldn't hit me if you tried!"

Tsukiko didn't have much attention to spare to the battle raging around her as the others covered for her. The longer things went on the less focus she had to spare. She caught Lucille bailing her out though with a clever use of her weapon. It left her unarmed which was definitely bad... but she had haste on her still. Hopefully that would keep her safe. Tsukiko couldn't do more to help right now.
The light and dark energies surrounding her blades spread over her body, clashing there as well as she brought the blades closer together. They repelled each other like magnets, forcing her to strain for every inch closer she brought them. The darkness writhing on her skin threatened to distract her, or worse, overtake her. Her outfit was chosen because the fabrics helped prevent this, but she still wasn't used to how fundamentally WRONG it felt to embrace darkness even partially like she was doing now. Controlling the light was easy, it matched her nature and largely followed her will. But the darkness squirmed and writhed like countless tangled snakes, refusing to be pinned down or forced to adhere to her wishes.
There were sparks though, of a third kind of energy where the two opposing elements met. Just flashes here and there at the moment, but she was making progress. The others just had to keep it up.

Once its attack had been thwarted, it clearly looked ready to completely ram the entire home and Tsukiko along with it. Still barring the way were the four who were now in it for better or for worse. Lucille's shouting, however, seemed to make the tail turn to face her and its legs caused it to turn and about face her. It was less about the nature of her insult and more or less the amount of noise she was making. It raised its claws and snapped them rapidly. They then dropped and faced forward as it reared itself back then charged forward.
Ed stepped into the way with his bulky form with arms outstretched, ready to intercept. The moment it made contact, Ed dug his heels into the ground and was pushed back by the force of this creature which made him give a strained grunt. He was barely slowing it down until it was mere meters before Lucille. Ace unveiled a couple of cards that acted as miniature little missiles that arced behind the scorpion and pummeled the sides with the projectiles that made the sound of chinking metal. It was enough to slow it down further but Ed was still struggling to keep it from getting closer. The Heartless finally then pulled out one of its claws from its front acting as a bulwark which Ed saw clear as day as a chance. Mooch saw this as a chance as well and quickly tossed a large chunk of munny at the open claw which seized hold of the currency before it could reach Ed. He then wrested both arms around the other claw and held it down once more as Moray dove into the fray to strike at the other claw to throw it off balance. The claw released its grasp on the munny which was then subsequently retrieved by Mooch with a fiendish little chuckle. Ed then attempted to lift the creature with a great grunt of effort as it was attempting to gain back its balance.
"We got it on the run!" "Mooch, there exists a thing called irony. Best not to entice it...oh..."
No sooner than Ace finished his sentence did the legs of the beast begin to rattle rapidly against the ground, kicking up dust in the process. Faster and faster until the cloud of dust started to become a whirling force around it which pelted Ed with debris. Then the tail began to whip about alongside the dust storm. Finally, it let loose a chatter as a thundercloud billowed above the storm and began to literally rain down lightning. Ed was thrown off first but not before he gave the beast a strong push backward, the dust storm and thunder cloud following it. The bolts struck Mooch who barely managed to get out with just a jolt to her tail. Ace slid out a few more cards to deflect the lightning bolts and Moray used her rapier in tandem with Lucille's to course-correct the bolts.
The stray bolts bounced off the barrier Eda had made while a few more struck the ground near Lucille and Tsukiko respectively. Another went directly for Lucille but it was intercepted by Ace who didn't have time to create another card barrier and instead took the brunt of it himself. He fell to one knee and coughed up some smoke.
"Regrettable...but I'll live." he remarked with a rasp. He eyed the miniature storm this thing had conjured and narrowed his visible eye. "I don't think we can get close to it now without getting injured."

As Lucille gets its attention, the scorpion clacks its claws menacingly and then charges. Lucille yelps and immediately turns tail to flee, her Hasted voice yelling out faster than normal in a panic. "Ishouldn'thavedonethat, Ishouldn'thavedonethat, Ishouldn'thavedonethat!" She exclaims, running like her life depends on it. ('Because it probably does!')
She would stop however when Ed blocks the monster, looking back to see it getting put on the backfoot. She breathes a sigh of relief and then smiles. Those guys are really strong huh? Maybe things will turn out okay—
...Okay yeah nevermind things got worse. A lightning storm? Really?! Lucille stares at the scene before her incredulously, so taken aback she didn't react in time to dodge the incoming lightning bolt, only raising up her arms as she braces for impact—BOOM—nothing. No pain. Looking up, she sees that Ace had taken the hit for her. Seeing him get hurt just to protect her made her feel bad, rubbing her arm as she stammers out. "Uh... Th-thanks..."
Glancing at the storm-veiled scorpion monster again, the scope of everything really starts to hit her. The things she's going to need to fight... They'll be just as or even more powerful than this, right? But she's so weak... She can't even handle being a distraction without someone having to save her. She's just a burden on everybody else. Once again the weight of everything started to overwhelm her, especially since there really isn't anything more she can do to help; walking into the storm would just lead to her own injury, and she has no means of attacking at range because she can't get her stupid magic to work. How frustrating!
She ends up standing and walking over to pick up her rapier as she positions herself between the monster and Tsukiko. Not that she'd be able to make much of a difference in protecting her, but she has to at least try to be useful in SOME way...

Tsukiko didn't see much of the specifics of what happened in the fight in the latest exchange, focused entirely on what she was doing. The two keyblades struggled viciously to resist the fusion, but then almost like flipping a switch, she found the right balance, and they slammed together like they were meant to be one blade the entire time, morphing into a new form Tsukiko twirled the new keyblade briefly as if to test that it had properly fused, then stepped forward, patting Lucille on the shoulder, then Ace as she cast cure on him to patch up his injury "Good work everyone, I've got this from here" she said, her voice taking an almost ethereal quality to it as her body glowed with power. Clearly this fusion keyblade carried a great deal of power well worth the challenge of bringing it out. Tsukiko walked to the front of the group, standing between them all and the raging dust storm "I do believe I promised you getting to see some cool magic Lucille, so I'll open strong" she said, pointing her keyblade at the shadow of the heartless inside the storm. It was unfortunate it was thrashing about so much right now, between that and the dust storm she couldn't clearly spot the tail face to target it, but this first shot ought to hurt it enough to get it to shift tactics and open itself up for more attacks A magic circle expanded from the tip of her keyblade, glowing as it rotated, then a laser beam of magical energy erupted from it to pierce the storm and strike the scorpion, followed by an explosion on contact. It was only the first level of the flare spell line, but it was on a whole other level than the spells Tsukiko had been casting before, even her combination spells. Part of that was her overall power was increased with Equilibrium out, but it was also that this was simply a higher level spell she couldn't even cast without that boost at her current level. "That spell is called flare, it's probably beyond your ability for now Lucille, but you don't need to wield a keyblade to cast this, in time you'll be able to do the same" Tsukiko said, smiling back at Lucille "of course, I can't quite cast it whenever I want myself, the keyblade is helping. But plenty of people can use this without that crutch. You'll get there in time... but until you're ready"Tsukiko took a ready stance with hey keyblade, her movements flowed more smoothly now. Her stance seemed more familiar to her with her one blade instead of her usual two, even without the extra power surrounding her, it was clear she was more dangerous now with one blade than she had been with two beforehand. "You can rely on people further along in their training to fuck things up for you" Tsukiko said with an excited grin, the darkness she was channeling shining through a bit as her bloodlust rose and she grew excited for the coming battle.

Eda was in awe of the power of the keyblade. Sure, her magic was great and all. The best on the Boiling Isles. Better than that so-called Emperor. But there really was something else about magic cast by a keyblade that made things have this mystical quality to them. She would have been nearly enraptured by it had it not been for her realization that that blast was pretty big. "Hey!" she barked "Watch where you cast that! I know you got a grip on things, just don't be forgetting your surroundings! Even if the spell itself does look totally awesome!"The fiend recoiled and the storm was partially enveloped briefly in the aftereffects of the flare spell, mixing together much like Tsukiko's current state. Eda watched intently while King watched on curiously. But none were as enthralled as the four newcomers who watched this new weapon in action. "Doesn't the King know something like that?"Ace nodded to Tsukiko as he approached his allies now recovering thanks to the Cure spell. "It's hard to tell. Besides, it looked more like the Queen's to me.""Really? They both looked kinda the same to me!""Mooch, you only saw them once just like the rest of us and clearly it was like the King's!"As they mustered up their defenses again, the storm thrashed outward toward the group. Tsukiko in particular would get a hefty smattering of bolts near her as if to intimidate her. It shrieked and clicked its claws. Caliguru and Lucille were the least of its worries now. It seemed now laser-focused on Tsukiko. It quietly hissed as if reacting to the darkness, inching forward towards the familiar essence. Then began to lunge at Tsukiko with a barrage of claw thrusts as it brought the storm over to her this time. But the bolts weren't for mere intimidation as from them, behind Tsukiko emerged slender figures that streaked toward Lucille and Eda busy focusing on the spell. They lightly crackled with static and appeared quite lizard-like in appearance with violet colored form, signature beady yellow eyes, and most noticeably, Emblem upon their foreheads. They hissed as they made their approach, 3 in number while another group of them appeared before the four off-worlders to keep them from moving in to aid Lucille. Eda grunted as she realized just who it was she needed to count on right now. "You there...erm...nervous child! Looks like it's your time to shine."

Lucille yelps in surprise as Tsuki's hand is placed on her shoulder, and she turns to see the fully combined keyblade and the clearly souped up Tsukiko. She breathes a sigh of relief. "Oh thank goodness, I wasn't sure how much longer we'd have been able to hold that thing off," She says, stepping to the side to give Tsukiko some room to do her thing.
She was admittedly a bit shellshocked from the hectic battle, but there was still a strong part of her that was excited to see just what kind of things magic can do. As Tsukiko charges up a large spell circle, Lucille's eyes widen, further exacerbated by the resulting beam and subsequent explosion rocking the earth. The creature must surely have been obliterated by a blast like that!
Tsukiko's words would bring Lucille pause however. What does she mean 'probably' beyond Lucille's abilities? There's no chance is hell she could produce anything as cool as that! She can barely make a snowflake, let alone a giant laser beam! The crushing weight of expectations bears down on Lucille once more. Were they expecting her to be able to do that? What if it turns out this lack of magical talent is a permanent problem? What if she's a disappointment? Would she be relieved of her duty and thrown out of the house she was given?
The raging anxiety in her head would be interrupted however when the raging scorpion-thing charged forward, shaking Lucille back to the present as she yells. It's still alive?! How tough are these things? She has no choice but to back away as the creature lunges for Tsukiko, powerless to stop it herself. Hopefully Tsuki has that thing covered, especially as Lucille sees a trio of raptor-like approaching. She looks around and sees the otherworlders are preoccupied as well, and Eda's words confirm it. 'Nervous child' huh? Well she certainly isn't wrong...
Her sword quivers in her hand nervously as she watches the three creatures rapidly approaching. She tries her best to steady her breathing. There's no way around it, ready or not she's the only person that can stop them, or at least distract them long enough for the others to clean up. She tightens her grip on the blade, then charges forward with an exaggerated battle cry as she tries to push through her fears with sheer bravado. "Take THIS!" She yells, leaping into a horizontal slash at one of them followed by a thrust with her blade. She still couldn't muster any magic, but hopefully sword swings alone can do the trick.

Tsukiko's focus narrowed in on the giant heartless as it endured her initial attack. She heard Eda yelling at her, but the words didn't fully process. A grin spread across her face as bolts of lightning rained down around her, instead of intimidating her it simply riled her up. She didn't even register the smaller ones as the big scorpion charged at her with a barrage of claw thrusts.
Charging to meet it, Tsukiko began swinging her fused keyblade to meet each claw strike with a parry, knocking each one aside as the grin on her face grew wider and wider. In spite of the dangerous situation she felt the urge to laugh, a sort of manic energy creeping in. A few chuckles and laughs escaped her as the attacks intensified, leading to a creepy sight as it seemed like Tsukiko was about to succumb to bloodlust. Going blow for blow with the giant monster as her blade met it's claws and knocked them away, neither combatant backing down as they clashed again and again.
But Tsukiko quickly reined it back in, she had a suspicion as to why she was feeling this way. Whenever she tried wielding the darkness, especially when she was channeling it enough to fuse her blades, it had an effect on her emotions. It always seemed to amplify her more violent and negative emotions. Anger, sadness, bloodlust, all of them became more intense in this state. But if she gave into them fully it would disrupt the balance of her keyblade.
That didn't mean she couldn't indulge them at all though. The dark half of her keyblade was pushing for aggression, and the light side wanted to protect. But by aggressively attacking the biggest threat here she was doing both.
With another parry, Tsukiko pushed forward, jumping on the scorpion's back and running along it, dragging her keyblade through it's body as she ran forward, than jumped up to slash at the face on the scorpion tail. Her combat style was clearly a lot more aggressive than before, but it seemed she was at least refraining from using any big area of effect spells for now in accordance with Eda's request. But how long that would last was very much up in the air.

No amount of thrashing would aid the scorpion as it made its assault with Tsukiko only for her to grow more and more unhinged the longer it persisted. Finally, the human's attack on the scorpion itself by jumping upon it seemed to temporarily throw if off guard long enough for her to get a rather powerful blow in to the tail tip which caused it to screech in pain and immediately back away rapidly.
Even more emerged to keep the other four busy while Lucille herself was left to contend with the newest arrivals which were watching her attack patterns with the utmost curiosity. Her attacks, to them, seemed less like a threat and more like a game to them. They tilted their heads in an animalistic fashion, then surrounded her. The blades swiping at them were met with near-playful utterances as they got close then ducked then brought their forms back in again as if playing a veritable game of chicken.
Then came a motion to show just how serious they decided to be. One quickly got behind Lucille just as another barreled at her front and another by the side. Either way, their intent was clear and that was to knock her off-balance. Calaguru who was a wobbly little puddle of exhaustion mustered enough strength to lift itself up and tackle one of the lizards with a brave yip. But was then immediately tossed back just as they managed to put Lucille on the ropes.
Meanwhile, the scorpion who had clearly taken some hefty damage was shaking. It raised its claws up, clacked them, then from the storm it had summoned out bolts that were each aimed at Tsukiko directly. Intimidation had nothing to do with it anymore; they were meant to hit...and to hurt as much as it could. It was not happy with Tsukiko's previous attack and was returning the favor whilst the tail began to tuck itself away in safety.
