Legal Name: Dusty Burrows
Alias: Cyber-Bunny
Quirk Name: LiTe hAxxor
Notable Achievements: – programmed the agency’s digital security, radio encryption, etc…
- Was voted “most adorable agency mascot” 3 years in a row
- once thwarted a large-scale villain plot to wreck the economy with cyberattacks by hacking the villain’s computer systems and stopping them while also disclosing their location to the police
QuirkName: LiTe hAxxoR
Quirk Type: Mutant
Power: Dusty is a rabbit with genius level human intelligence and the ability to speak, usable arms with proper motor control, and generally improved health and lifespan compared to most rabbits. Dusty has used this intelligence to become a cyber-security and hacking specialist, using custom built keyboards and input devices to interface with computers
Supermoves: “Hopping”– a hacking technique using networked devices to infiltrate a system. There’s nothing special about how Dusty is doing it, she just made it into a rabbit pun.
Drawbacks: Dusty is still a rabbit for all intents and purposes, her body structure is slightly altered and she is very intelligent, but she is utterly helpless in battle, still only being roughly the size/weight of a typical rabbit.
Fighting Style: Dusty literally cannot fight in any effective manner in actual combat. She is the agency’s tech support and hacking expert. She sometimes pilots drones when on-site support is needed, and these drones are usually equipped with some basic defense features like stun guns or small caliber firearms, but even these are focused more on enabling her to interface with other technology to provide hacking support and the like, leaving her only combat options as “run away and hide” in the vast majority of scenarios
Faction NPCsLegal Name: Mira Satsu
Alias: Bulwark
Quirk Name: Bolster
Notable Achievements: – stood her ground against four villains at once, holding them off for ten minutes while reinforcements arrived
QuirkName: Bolster
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: Mira can dramatically strengthen any physical object she’s in contact with, increasing all of its properties significantly, particularly durability. However things such as efficiency or output can be bolstered as well.
Supermoves: Indomitable – Mira uses her quirk on her own body to greatly enhance its physical characteristics, making her exceptionally durable and strong while doing so. However, this has some unintended side effects, as it also bolsters things like her metabolism, heart rate, and other aspects of normal body function. This results in immense strain on the body that consumes its resources rapidly. Maintaining indomitable for too long will eventually lead to severe internal damage as blood vessels burst from blood pressure rising beyond what the increased durability can withstand, calorie reserves are depleted to the point of starvation, and various other dramatic side effects. These effects are compounded when the technique is dropped and the boosts end, but the damage done to the body does not.
Weakest Link – Mira can break some objects/machines/things with many interconnected parts relying on each other by specifically bolstering a specific part of them, which can disrupt the other parts in various ways (i.e. the bolstered part hits against another with more force than it should, or doesn’t open when its supposed to due to increased resistance to the forces that would open it, etc…)causing a chain reaction of malfunctions. Doing this does require enough understanding of the design of the target to know what can be disrupted in this way
Drawbacks: Most bolstered objects break or malfunction after the effect ends, as the boost fades faster than the physical stresses of being boosted, causing fractures and structural failures. Objects can be designed to account for this, such as her personal equipment. Additionally boosting organic objects presents a host of additional risks (see supermove, Indomitable for example of some of the complications that can arise).
Bolstering is also an action that requires physical exertion from Mira, much like a muscle being tensed to “hold” the effect in place. As such fatigue and exhaustion are factors.
Finally, Mira must maintain physical contact with the objects being affected
Fighting Style: Mira is a tank, wearing armor designed with her quirk in mind, she goes into battle with a metal club to serve as a front line fighter who can take a beating. She sometimes also carries a shield to double as a living barrier protecting civilians
Legal Name: Ariana Kitan
Alias: Lullaby
Quirk Name: Empathic Sound
Notable Achievements: – is a fairly popular singer/songstress outside of her hero work
- is well known for disaster relief efforts comforting survivors with her quirk
QuirkName: Empathic Sound
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: Ariana can imbue positive emotions into any sound she makes with either her voice or an instrument. Those who hear said sounds begin to feel those same positive emotions themselves and have their morale boosted. The louder the sound, the more strongly it can boost someone. The quirk works best when used in music of an appropriate genre, the rhythm and tempo of the songs seeming to have a synergistic effect with the emotional transmission due to the human brain’s natural inclination towards feeling emotions in response to certain kinds of music.
Supermoves: Up Tempo! – a supporting move where Ariana conveys excitement, urgency, and passionate energy into her music, energizing and speeding up her allies.
Soothing Serenade – Ariana’s most well known ability, imbuing feelings of calm, peace, and hope into her music and playing for groups of civilians who are distraught after a disaster or villain attack in order to comfort them. She also uses this frequently for the children at the orphanage
Drawbacks: Lack of combat utility – Ariana’s quirk provides little in the way of actual combat options. She is purely a supporting hero who is extremely vulnerable on her own
Audio dependency – Ariana’s quirk is dependent on her targets being able to hear her, thus those who are deaf are immune, and drowning out or muting the sounds she makes can negate her quirk as well
Fighting Style: Ariana isn’t much of a fighter, her quirk provides little in terms of combat potential, so she typically remains at a distance using musical equipment to project her songs to allies who are fighting,
Legal Name: Klaus Urbain
Alias: Diamond Dust
Quirk Name: Diamond Dust
Notable Achievements: – has released a few well-received research papers on child psychology
QuirkName: Diamond Dust
Quirk Type: Emitter
Power: Klaus exerts telekinetic control over water particles in the area around him, causing them to condense and freeze into shards of ice he can then control. He cannot control water inside humans however, for scientifically unclear reasons.
Supermoves: Dust storm – Klaus forms countless tiny ice crystals in the air in the form akin to a dust cloud, sending it at opponents. The ice shards, while tiny, are still quite sharp, allowing the cloud to inflict hundreds of cuts in rapid succession as it crashed into targets and often moves through them. However the small size of the ice crystals does render the attack easy to melt away when dealing with heat generating quirks
Thousand needles – Klaus has trained his quirk to the point where he can form and control a staggering number of ice shards at once even when not making them small enough to form a cloud of sharp crystals. While the precise number of shards created and controlled is typically less than 1000 due to a lack of water availability, he is capable of actually reaching 1000 in aquatic or particularly humid environments, thus earning the technique’s name.
Drawbacks: Environmental dependency – Klaus’s quirk does not create water, only controls and condenses what exists in his surroundings. This means if there isn’t any water available, he’s helpless. Support gear does allow him to have water on hand for use even in particularly dry environments, but even the most efficient gear can only carry so much.
Concentration – Klaus has trained extensively to master his quirk, but the more ice shards he is using the more concentration controlling them requires. If his focus were to be impaired by injury, drugs, or other ailments, his abilities would be dramatically reduced
Heat generating quirks – Klaus’s ice shards can be melted by fire type quirks and the like, the larger the shards he makes and the fewer of them he is using, the better he can keep them frozen in the face of high temperatures, but this inherently forces him to change combat tactics and limits his options, and even then the ice can still be melted with enough heat.
Fighting Style: Klaus is a ranged combatant, forming numerous knives of ice and making them fly through the air at high speeds. He is well known for his ability to precisely control a great number of shards at once and engage multiple foes at a time across a battlefield without sacrificing speed or precision. He is also capable of limited martial arts and self-defense in close combat, but greatly prefers avoiding it since his quirk does nothing to enhance his body.
Faction NPCsLegal Name: Gerald Thernart
Alias: Iron Knuckle
Quirk Name: “Tough”
Notable Achievements: – Is world renowned as a martial artist, and was/is Cahya’s personal coach
- has never been seen to lose a fight
QuirkName: “Tough” Old Geezer
Quirk Type: None
Power: Gerald doesn’t actually HAVE a quirk, he’s just a very skilled and hardy old man with enough muscles and experience that people just assume he has some kind of physical enhancement quirk. He’s registered as a pro hero in the agency under the quirk name “tough” as a sort of in-joke for those who know the full name of his “quirk”
Supermoves: Ultimate Bluff – using his reputation as a powerful physical fighter and respected martial arts master, Gerald bluffs enemies into backing down even if he is severely outmatched
Drawbacks: quirkless – I mean… do I need to explain the drawback here?
Fighting Style: If forced to fight, Gerald is a respectably powerful close combatant, being in peak physical condition and being a master of multiple styles of combat, he does live up to the title of “tough old geezer.” Typically though he tries to avoid having to fight himself because he is well aware that without a quirk he is at a pretty major disadvantage.
